Class, pure class! Stayed a bit late to make sure I got what I needed. I got a good deal to boot. If you need quality speakers or amplifiers this is the only spot in the north state.

The guy operating the counter does not even know about car audio and second very rude

Ive tried to have car stereo work done here twice,2016 and june,2020 both times he just shined me on out the door maybe its a drug front,,I wanted Italiadoor speakers,, but he just said nope we cant help you I had 3000$ ready to pay for great speakers and god work. Both times. Drive to grass valley for fast friendly service cant say if hes great because he wont work on my cars,, but all around sounds are totally cricked

I had recently just gotten a used car and it came with a sub in the back already hooked up. The sub didn’t work and I do not know the first thing when it comes to subs, amps, etc. Brian and staff were extremely helpful by getting me in their schedule and diagnosing and fixing the problem. Once everything was fixed Brian took the time to show me the correct settings on my radio to get the best sound. Over all great experience!

Not very helpful

Brian and team did a fantastic job installing an amp and sub in my wife’s suv and my truck. They were able to get our vehicles in and out really quick and did a quality job on the installation. The systems sound amazing and the price was hard to beat. I highly recommend Sounds by Dave!

I would give zero stars if i could... customer service was astoundingly terrible. answered all my questions very very rudely. and couldn’t even answer a single one other than with “i don’t know”

That 1 minute phone call was like the post office, dmv and comcast customer service rolled into one. Serves me right wanting to seek advice and spend money locally instead of turning to the internet.

I went to this store to research sound bar vs component amp and speakers. After only a few words with the owner, he interrupted me to say I was making a big mistake even thinking of a sound bar and they junk. Immediately ridiculing me for even thinking of a sound bar. I did a lot of research and know if you have limited space, some sound bars may be appropriate. After feeling ridiculed, I politely said thank you and walked out of the store. As I walked out, the owner proceeded to mock me, practically yelling at me says I was making a big mistake. I was getting into my car in the parking lot and he was still yelling at me. The biggest mistake I made was walking into this store expecting Professional Service.

Brian is amazing! I receieved outstanding service and his speed and technical aptitude was impressive to say the least. This is a top-quality local business, & I would implore anyone looking for car audio service or equipment to pay them a visit!

I have bought a lot of stuff from this location over the last eight years and have always felt very satisfied with the service theyve given me. Their product knowledge of what items fit together to give you the best sound for the money spent. Theyre willing to compete with the big name stores and have always given me great customer service. A friend of mine got his girlfriends car stereo there and they installed it the same day. They also enjoyed doing business with them.

Bought a sub for my truck here and the gentleman by the name of Brian was a big help! Explained to me everything that I needed to install my system at home and went above and beyond when I asked for other instructions to look for. Best believe Im coming back for some 6x8s

Very good prices got brian worked with me and let me buy a sub and amp install it my self and let me come back and try out different woofers with my music. 315$ got me a 12 ported box wiring kit and amp to run it all. Great store!

Ive been shopping at Sounds by Dave for almost 30 years. Whenever Im looking for a new piece of equipment (or a good used piece), I give them first shot at the sale. The salespeople are very knowledgeable, and if they dont know something they admit to it and try to find the answer. Have never felt pressure to buy. Theyve always given me a good price, but Im also willing to spend a little more than I might via the web in order to support a local store and specialist. I admit that Dave himself can be an acquired taste, but if you dont try to b.s. him, hell do what it takes to help a customer. He know a lot about A/V equipment and the industry.

These guys here are great. Brian in particular has been very helpful and has always given me fair prices since I had the first system installed in my truck. Its been three years since they put a full system in my truck and I have never had one issue, or blown speaker or anything. Highly recommend these guys. They recently put a complete system in my bmw and it sounds amazing. I had an issue with the car itself not going into sleep mode and they diagnosed the issue for me and fixed it for free, even though it wasnt really their problem to fix. Im sure the diagnosis from the bmw shop wouldve cost me a good amount so that was real nice of them.

I love this place, Im not sure what the other people who reviewed them are talking about. Every time I go in Brian helps me out right away. He knows the answer to every question I have. He has helped me out on many occasions for free, like setting the clock and pairing my Bluetooth devices to my new stereo. I recently had a problem with a pioneer stereo they installed so Brian had his guy remove the old deck and send it back to pioneer to have then repair it for free. Great place if you want to shop local and support chico.

I really wish I had read the other three reviews before I walked into this place. He was extremely rude to me despite the fact that he sold me a piece of equipment that didnt work and said he fixed it but it still didnt work. He acted like I was out of line because I wanted a refund on the product. He told me to go to hell when I explained to him that it was purchased for our school by fundraising funds and the kids werent getting to use it because it didnt work. I was literally shocked by how bad the customer service in this place was. I cant believe they are still in business.

Dave does not have the best attitude. I would describe it as crotchity or surly, I cant speak to his quality of work because he said he was Too busy right now even though I said I wasnt in a hurry and he could take weeks if needed. His employees were apologetic, but that was more for Daves demeanor than anything else.

Dave has been here for as long as I can remember. I came to Chico in 72 and have been buying car stereos and tvs since from here.

Today is 12/31/2015 i came to this place to see how much would they charge me to reinstall my stereo on my car.. cause i try to install it my self and didnt do a great job so i decide to bring it here so they can install it the right way. the guy that help me was really series and tell me that for them to reinstall it will be between $40 some buck to $$90 so i say ok. he tells me that hes gonna go check with the guys if they can work on it am waiting for about 20 min i only hear them talking and laughing so i get mad and leave i wont be coming here any more.
