So I had my tranmission rebuilt and it was slipping going around right hand corners. So I take it back and was told nothing was wrong with it! So I get it back and it still did it. They said nothing was wrong.Took it else ware to have it repaired and now all is good. I would like to add I had a bad Trans mount and they never said a word also Trans lines were leaking. Not tight. Also broke the plug for the Trans and was never told about it also. If I could post pictures I would.

I had a problem with another jeep I have and Sam, mark and Bob took care of me. They even fixed an oil leak I had from my oil pan and rear main seal when they didnt have to. All bc I had a problem with an oil pan and I had Mavis tire and brakes replace. They messed up the gasket and refused to even look at it. Sam even tried talking to them but they wouldnt hear it. So Sam told me to bring my Jeep back and hed take care of me, and he did. They have my business now and in the future and if you want your vehicle fixed right you should should also.

I had a transmission issue where my shifts were delayed, came here to get it checked, workers were cool and helpful. I left my car there for a little while (about 2 weeks & a half) and had it back before the next month. Everything is working smooth and running great, my shifts are on point now and my car feels brand new. I dont usually do reviews but i was very happy with the work that was done.

Went in for a bad pressure switch. Was told they wished to rebuild transmission cause of bad torque converter. When I went to pickup asked again why they needed to rebuild trans since converter its own unit. They said since replacing pressure switch wanted to replace everything else so all can be covered by their warranty. So I asked..its not needed but what you like to do? Mechanic said correct. I made mistake of not reading enough reviews on here. If I had I would of seen similar stories of where they just want to rebuild your transmission. Never write reviews online but felt like this was needed to be shared to hopefully help someone else if they wondering if to go here.

Went to this location on 12/24/2020 with a request to do a non-flush transmission service at 70,000 miles, on a 2011 BMW 335d. Was told that they would have to do a diagnostic on the car before they could perform the service, citing safety concerns, stating that they wouldnt be able to perform the filter and fluid change without some review, to which I agreed, but then stated I did not want a FLUSH only a fluid and filter change. I remarked that I didnt want to risk a flush, because I really care about this car, and know that on this particular transmission, a flush can mean a rebuild would be necessary for it to move under its own power again. After this statement was told that that was not their policy, and if I didnt want them to FLUSH the transmission, I should go somewhere else. He then goes on to tell me he has done this service on several of his own BMWs and there isnt ever a problem.Its MY CAR. What I want done for my car is my concern. Demanding that I do what you THINK should be done is no way to do business.Additionally, I know from experience that hard shifts when cold is more than likely from old / bad fluid, or from a restriction in the filter.I had the car serviced somewhere else.Its MY CAR. I simply wanted the fluid and filter changed.

Had a flex plate & torque converter on a Subaru replaced. An unusual job. Sam (present owner & 40 + year employee at this location) did diagnosis with others. Very technically competent and people-centric. Warm, personable, caring and very articulate. When I picked up the car I heard him explaining to a customer why he DIDNT do a transmission flush that customer suggested be done (wasnt necessary, would accomlish nothing). He really cares about his customers, and what is best for them. The bulletin board in the office that overflows with thank-you notes is testament to that. I would highly recommend this aamco. Kenny helped me every step of the way to take great care of my Subaru. This was the first shop to even discuss rebuilding my transmission versus buying a new one with me and got exactly what I wanted done to keep my car going the longest amount of time. Kenny was very friendly and informative and one of the only mechanics Ive ever had not talk down to me for not being knowledgeable. He has great customer service skills and was very personable. My transmission went out on my van (one and only vehicle, all of a sudden, wouldnt work), then I found these guys at this place...and they fixed it! I went here to get my car checked out for a second opinion. the original place i took my car told me it was the transmission and it was trashed.. When I arrived at AAMCO they told me that it was not the transmission but instead it was the motor mount, transmission mount and another transmission part. I went from buy new trany to just a few hundred bucks to fix a couple mounts. It did take them about all day to fix, but they got it done and my car runs better than when I bought it 2 years ago. I am VERY happy with the work they did. Thank you so much for fixing my car!

If you’re weary of car repair shops.. stop looking and pick Aamco in Clearwater, FL near countryside.Here’s my story.I was driving home from giving my highlander hybrid a car wash and I stopped at a light and then started to go again and then my car just lost all power to go. I knew I had an issue. I pulled over to the nearest location and began my list of calls like I normally do to get quotes on repairs. I came across firestone and they referred my to aamco because that’s where they take all their transmission issues. So I make the call.They pick up and I spoke with a gentleman named Kenny. I knew just from this interaction that I picked the right place.You see, when my transmission blew, I had it towed by a towing company for $80 to Snyder’s transmission. What does aamco do for choosing them? They towed my car 15 miles to their shop for FREE. That’s just the start of my savings. They get it towed and immediately start on the diagnostics. I have an 09 highlander hybrid.. mind you, in Kenny’s words, “We don’t get these in the shop.. ever. So this is a unique situation.” Come to find out, my transmission control module went bad within the hybrid system drive and that led to another issue within the transmission.. a two for one. How could this be? In a Toyota for goodness sakes!They run their diagnostics, replace the part within the transmission, replace the transmission control module, then they realize they can’t get the hybrid system drive to fully wake up the other components and call in their mobile programmer. This leads to the conclusion that the connector to the hybrid system drive also needs replacing.. BUT WAIT. Because this wasn’t included in my quote and found out after the fact, AAMCO takes care of the cost. Second cost of savings. BOOM.I call them up and ask them to change the oil as well because I had gotten my notification and it needed it after 5,000 miles driven. But wait? AAMCO decides to take care of that cost too. At this point I’m thinking.. “I’ve never dealt with a repair company like this before.” (In a good way)So a day goes by and I get a call from Kenny with an update. Bad news but good news. He said the boot on my axle was getting bad and because they hadn’t realized it at the time of repair, they would cover the costs. Here we go again with EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. This is also the little string that leads to more discovery.. but more on that in a bit.The next day I get a call from Kenny again and he says he got the connector in, got it replaced, got the modules woken up, and everything is looking great. At this point I’m like YES! I get my car back! And Kenny is like YES! I get my Lift back!But wait.. another slight mishap. The coolant is leaking. Ring ring ring.. it’s Kenny! He says there’s a slight crack within my coolant container and it needs replacing, but what does he do? COVERS THE COST.The next day I get out there to pick up my car and dun dun dun.. “Hey Mitch, can you come look at this for a second?”I’m thinking.. oh great. What next! Sam, one of the other guys says have you had your axle replaced recently? I said yeah, about 8 months ago at Hobson Auto Repair. Come to realize they put the wrong axle which wasn’t long enough into my car and low and behold.. could be the reason my transmission went bad in the first place? But what do they do? Find the right part, order it from Toyota and COVER THE COSTS. I’m completely blown away at this point. It’s been a perfect storm for the excellent AAMCO workers but they have taken care of me every step of the way.My car.. even though it’s taken longer than usual to fix a “simple” transmission issue, ran into a bunch of other things that Aamco has professionally dealt with and taken care of at no charge to me, the consumer. In total I’ve saved over $2k in repairs all because AAMCO is trustworthy and takes care of their customers.If you have any doubts in your mind about where to take your car for repairs, leave them at the door of AAMCO in Clearwater near countryside. Your car will be glad you did!

This is by far the most honest car care provider I have ever been too. My Jeep needed work because a sensor was off and Bob told me because I still have a warranty that I can go to the dealership. He easily could have lied to me or not even brought that up. He is extremely honest and I recommend him highly!! Even if you have a mechanic go to Bob!

My transmission was rebuilt due to a faulty transmission control module and it definitely costed me but Sam and the team saw me through till the end and my truck has been running strong for over a year now.

My 2004 Ford F-150 started making whining noises and vibrating at about 60 mph. I was on u.s. 19 and the closest transmission shop was an Aamco on 19 in St.Pete so I stopped in to find out if it could be the transmission . The manager didn’t even drive my truck and told me it would be between $3,000 and $3,500, when I told him not only did I not have the money but the truck wasn’t worth it he responded that the truck wouldn’t make it another 5 miles. I decided to get a second opinion. The shop had me back on the street in a couple of hours and the truck was repaired for under $1,000. All they did was replace the power steering pump and a belt. Take your chances at Aamco if you want to get beep beeped around. These people give the industry a bad name.

2.5 weeks and being in the shop my transmission still is not working how it shop

I brought my 2004 Accord in because the transmission needed to be serviced. It is a high mileage vehicle and it felt like there may have been a problem. I was told that they transmission had an issue, it was showing signs of slipping and they wouldnt do the service. They recommended a new transmission @ $1200-$2000. Took the car to Honda who did the transmission service and the car has had no issues. no new transmission needed. Its always good to get a second opinion.

Sam (the boss) is the best mechanic I have ever had. I am a truck driver, and he has allowed me to leave my personal vehicle at his shop, for him to work on piece by piece while Im on the road. The previous mechanic I had screwed me over, and Sam have he the information I needed to turn him in. I had an issue with my oil pressure. He did a diagnostic, thought he knew what was wrong. He tried fixing it. Buy since it did not fix the problem, he did not charge me for the diagnostic, or repairs. I came home to pick up my car, and the battery was dead. I had a warranty from autozone. I was able to pick up the battery, and they put it in for free. He is the only mechanic I will ever go to. He is honest, fair priced, and dependable. I would recommend him to anyone!!!P.S. my car is still there now. Slowly but surely, when I come and pick it up, Ill have a top running vehicle!

I have an 04 BMW 530. Transmission was giving me trouble sometimes going into limp mode, got tired of babying it. AAMCO Clearwater was recommended by other BMW repair shops. They were friendly and had my car for about a week. Transmission shifts perfectly but, whatever they did, possibly disconnecting the battery set off a Air Bag/Seatbelt Fault Light. I dont know why they did not clear the light before they gave me the car back but they didnt. After not having the car for a week had to bring it back to have the light cleared. A little inconvenience bringing it back but they cleared the light and it stayed off indicating it was a temporary fault. Otherwise they did a good job, also came with a 18 month/18,000 mile warranty. Good Deal.

I was having what I believe was a transmission problem with 2000 Mits Eclipse. They check my car out just after I arrived. Found a unplugged spark plug wire. They took care of the problem with no charge. Im a middle-aged gal & was a bit worried. Thank you for your honesty! I will return for some maintenance work.

Slippery Sam charged me $2300 for a transmission rebuild on my Equinox and after taking it back 6 times in less than a month its in worse shape than when I brought it in and they messed up the electrical system.Im 84 and during there extended time with my vehicle they even tried to charge me for a rental car on my credit card that was later removed.Needless to say silver tongue Sam seen me coming and now both he and the chit chatty receptionist are not very friendly.They have my money.I made the mistake of not getting any reviews on these crooks or listening to the customer in the waiting area who was very upset when I first went in there.I wish I could give them zero stars.

First rate service! Sam took great care of us. The day before going on vacation my car broke down on my way to work. They towed my car to their shop, diagnosed the problem as my alternator and had it fixed the same day. What a relief!

This is the place if you have a transmission problem they are straight forward great people and they do awesome work They rebuilt the transmission in Ami 06 explore and refilled it 2 and a 1/2 years later with fluid for no charge it was a sealed system that means no dipstick cancel it out unless you go to a shop they did an awesome job my transmission

I had a car warrentee extended coverage, that would have covered the problem. Thats why I bought it. They refused to honor warrentee, and said it was because they were not making enough money. Then why sign up with warrentee company if you dont want to honor it. If I could give them a -10. I would. I am a disabled single lady, that needed my car for dr appt as stuff. I would never reccomend anyone go there.

Had difficulty with our car when leaving an overnight stay at Clearwater Beach. We stopped by, Mark was very helpful! Evaluated our car and reassured us for our 3 hour car ride home. Very kind and no charge!

Took our 2010 Mercury Mariner here to diagnose a shifting problem, wife waited there 2 hours. They said they drove it around with a diagnostic tool on it but didnt think it was the transmission. they had heard these models had engine issue and possibly a recall. We took it to the dealership the next day. It was 3 quarts lows on transmission fluid. It cost us $135 for the time the dealership spent checking for engine problems because we told them AAMCO just said it wasnt the transmission. Beware of this place.

And if your estimate is more then what your cars worth then thats your problem go do it your self then and see how much it costs you then!

Had to replace my transmission on my Isuzu. Sam worked the problem like a pro. As to find out it wasnt easy to find a used one, a new one was very costly, so they had to rebuild it. Transmission problems. Linkage cable had disconnected. Quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it, all covered under warranty. Great service. Will come back again if I need assistance for my vehicle.
