Great service. Very helpful and concerned about doing things right. No appointment necessary for simple stuff.
Just want to say thank you for taking me in on short notice and getting my hubs fixed on my boat trailer. Now I will be able to make it back to ocala with no worries. You guys are the best. I definitely recommend anyone needing trailer work done to go though these guys.
The guys at Rentz installed the tow bar package on our SUV. They did a great job, at a great price. The best part of going here are the guys who work here! We are very grateful to Benny for his patience in walking us through hitching the car up and explaining everything to us. These guys are the best.
Hands down best shop around I take all my trailers here. Family owned and operated very honest, hard to find now a days.
Rentz of Clearwater is awesome. Had a fifth wheel hitch installed by them. They went out of their way to find what I was wanting. Joe rocks!
Its a great place with a great staff the manager tony knows his stuff and is really nice and will help you get what you need
Went there to have a hitch installed after I received a phone call that my parts were in. After waiting an hour and a half to be taken care of (they do not take appointments, first come first serve, terrible!) my vehicle was taken in. About another 2 hours pass by and I was called into the office for payment (I was waiting outside this whole time) only to be told the electrical parts THEY ordered were not the correct ones. I was told they would reorder and would take 2-3 days for delivery and they would call me. One week passes by and no phone call so I called them only to be told they werent in yet, I did this for 3 weeks . The last phone call I was assured they would be in by that Thursday. Well 3 MONTHS have passed by and no phone call, the job was never finished, I have a hitch with no electrical lights. My husband decided to purchase the light kit himself and I returned to Rentz with the part, showed them the part and was told it would be a 2 hour wait, plus his installer had to take lunch I left and went to some stores to kill time ( I live 35 mins away) came back 2 hours later and had to wait for the installer to come back from lunch. Finally my car was pulled in, and after 15 mins, I was told it was the wrong part...why didnt he tell me this when I showed it to him over 2 hours ago, making me waste my time! So, he tells me he could order the part and it would be in 2-3 days....where did I hear this before? If the part was available, why did they never call me back to finish the job they started? HORRIBLE communication and customer service, VERY unprofessional! Took my car somewhere else and getting it done right, 3 months and time wasted, not even an apology! STAY AWAY!
Great job installing a stealth hitch on my Mercedes GLB 250. No other solution available and these guys got the job done perfectly
Great selection of trailer lights and accessories.
Setting up a flat tow system on a 2021 F150. The folks at Rentz are very helpful and ready to install as soon as Blue Ox makes a base plate. I will add more when the job is complete but I feel this company knows what they are doing.
I called and talked to Jake about hitch adapters for putting a 1 1/4 bicycle carrier into a 2 trailer hitch after being told by auto parts shops and Lowes they did not have what I wanted. They had it at a reasonable price. They also drilled out the lock (at no charge) on my friends vehicles 2 hitch so he could use the bike carrier I was giving him. Great customer service!
Jake and Joe did great job of getting my RV braking system ordered and quickly installed on my vehicle and also equipped the base plate for my tow bar. I havent had a chance to use the towing system yet, but they told me whenever I start up, just swing back by and they would show me all about the braking system. Highly recommend them if you are looking to outfit your RV dinghy.
Fantastic my truck stop from now on
I chose to use rentz of Clearwater to do the job on my 2016 Nissan Titan XD to install rear airbag suspension it was done in a timely manner and at the price they have quoted me and did a wonderful job.
Just had my base plate and Duo braking system installed on my Jeep 2020 Wrangler. These guys know their products. Installation was exceptionally clean and professional. They went over hooking it up to the RV and explained the braking system. Will be bringing the RV here for maintenance as well. Thank you!
The river was good, saw a dozen gators.I hope they open the pool soon.
Handled situation within an hour. Service truck licence plate light and rear tailight.
Wonderful experience:) if you ever want your engine painted pink this is the place to go.
I needed a hitch and trailer brake package installed on a Subaru Outback and knew very little about any of it. Jake took the time to explain what I needed, why, and how it worked. He made sure I got the tow bar I wanted and didn’t try to sell me a bunch of other stuff before I left when it was done. Ben, who did the installation, also took some time to explain how the brake controller worked. These guys are great and I recommend them for any trailer needs.
Good coffee and fast service. Like always.
Excellent work. Rentz has installed units on 3 of my RV’s and 3 toads
I TRUST Rentz of Clearwater. Dont have to worry about anything shady happening to my car there or getting ripped off. Also its a huge plus that they know what they are doing and have great management/Leaders (Tony).... I wont take my vehicles anyplace else. They always give it to me straight which is the way it should be. Always leave satisfied.
Happy with service took a little longer than I thought
Brought my 06 Honda Odyssey there for multiple repairs and they’ve always taken care of me in a timely manner and they have great customer service. Would highly reccomend them for not only fixing my van but even my moms car as well. The price is right and so is the service!
If you need a hitch or a trailer repair this is your place they know their stuff and are very pleasant to deal with
Great and honest shop. Reasonably priced for the exceptional service! Have taken multiple cars there and will continue to refer to friends and family.
Called to get price told the the guy on the phone I wanted new 7 way trailer plug kit wired up said about 150 took trailer there lights wired up but never wired up the breaks on the trailer so brought it to him and was told it would be another 150 for him to run the break wire this is after I payed my bill please get it in writing if you go here this place is not good with customer service either
I called them a couple days ago and was at their shop this morning June 10th when they opened. I rarely have a reason to review any company but after leaving this morning I need to.My repair and visit could not have been better. They had to repair my two electric plugs for towing after I was rear ended by another car. Im extremely happy with the repairs they did and at a fair price. Well worth my drive from St Petersburg. A nicer bunch youll never meet and I am a first time customer.THANKSCW
Always service with a smile, in and out in 30 minutes!
Very knowledgeable. They have patience with newbie. Joe has the answers. Highly recommend this business.
Scott, tech for wirering issues was Excellent. Total bill was very reasonable. Will return.
Did a great job setting up blue ox on our Jeep.
Had a Blue Ox tow package installed. 60000 miles later, very happy.
Guys do good work !! Especially the guy name Ben he knows his job he is a hard worker and a good worker !!
We left our car at Rentz to get a baseplate installed for towing behind a motorhome. They not only did excellent work but Ben took the time to explain to us exactly how to use the towing system easily.
My F-250 was brought here to have the trailer hitch assembly replaced. The replaced it with one that was not rated for the towing capacity of my truck. On top of the the rigged the wiring. Upon the return of my truck, I went to pull a trailer that was about 5 1/2 tons. Now thankfully I noticed the hitch was not rated for this. If I hadnt of noticed I could of potentially killed someone. It was brought to their attention and they acted like it wasnt a big deal. My truck is being taken to Ford to get fixed. Not a way to run a business at all. Plus putting peoples lives at risk to make a quick buck. Do your self a favor and DO NOT trust these guys with your vehicle.
I dont normally write bad reviews on a company, however, I have to make an exception for Rentz.Tony came recommended by a couple of different people over the last couple years And despite the negative reviewsI was sadly mistaken...1st off the communication is absolutely horrible ...2nd... they are complete rip off on price and not delivering. I dont mind paying more for great work but I do mind paying for something that I have been completely deceived over.I dropped my car off on a Saturday after work.... when i called and spoke to Tony Monday morning, I explained what was going on and he got back to me and stated that the carburetor needed to be rebuilt ( Which I was already aware of) and he could have the car ready by 11 a.m.Tuesday.Tuesday morning I take an Uber up to Rentz and thinking I was going be able to possibly get my car, he States that it wasnt ready and he could have it ready by 3 pm and he would give me a call to update me. I call the shop back at 3 oclock and Joe answers the phone and has quite the attitude and when I question if the car is ready, at that point he confirmed my suspicion of my carburetor being outsourced and that they had still not received it and he could not fix the car until he had it back. I proceeded to remind them that they had given me 2 different set times of when the car would be ready and no one called to inform me of anything different so please understand my irritation on this subject. At this point Im thinking I wont even have my car Wednesday. I finally get a call at 5:05 p.m. Keep in mind the shop is closed at this point.... my car was ready and that they would leave the keys in the mailbox and I could pick it up. To make matters worse....That Tuesday morning standing at the desk talking with Tony.... I reconfirmed the 185 rebuild quote he gave me a couple weeks before.... he tells me that it is 250. When I question him about the increase in price from 185 to 250 for rebuild he said that it was due to the extra cleaning of the carburetor from it having to soak and at no point in time did he state that it had been outsourced and waiting for it to come back, Which in my mind, is the reason for the increased price but you would think he would discuss it with me first! I also just realized... they also kept the carb removed from my car .... After disclosing to him that I would like to have it rebuilt at some point in time as a back up ....I had also specifically ordered AC Delco wires and distributor cap to be put on my car Due to the fact that I had just replaced the old AC delco wires and distributor with a Napa Elgin wires and distributor but they do not run well on my car. ( Keep in mind that with 5 rusty ac delco spark plugs, old ac delco wires and distributor, my car ran better than with the Elgin). To my surprise... 3 weeks later... when I go to check the oil and try for the life of me to figure out why my car is still running rough....Ill be damned if the same elgin spark plug wires and distributor that I asked to be replaced and had paid for... still remain in my car . I paid 250 for a carb rebuild ( I had rebuild kit), 150 for ac delco distributor, wires and Ac delco platinum plugs (plugs I already purchased ). And at this point Im questioning if the platinum plugs are actually in my car. That is a question that still remains. The only positive out of this I can say is kudos to the mystery company Rentz outsourced the carb to as they quickly rebuilt it and it seems to be running really well.So to fully wrap my head around this situation, my total bill came to over $400.... and I recieved only half of what I paid for.......... they also claimed to grease my gear box for power steering but that is also questionable. That really puts things into perspective for you doesnt it! Its a shame that you feel like you have to go behind your mechanic to make sure that you get what you paid for and sadly in this situation I Have to say that I will never recommend nor use rentz for any thing that I need.... I highly recommend that you steer clear.
I just started a moving company and purchased a 26 box truck. Tony and his staff went out of their way to fit me in on short notice, and inspected my truck. They are a no BS type of shop and wont up-sell you things you dont need. I was recommended to Rentz by the owner of one of the largest plumbing companies in the entire bay area. Rentz is very highly regarded in the community and if you have a truck/semi I would look no further for service. Great prices and great service.
I have been here more than once both with my race car and my daily and I have been happy with the level of service I have received as well as the reasonable prices. Tony is the best! I would definitely recommend.
After buying a superclass C RV specifically to tow a Tundra as a toad, I was told by several places that it was impossible. I found a guy in Texas who said it could be done and gave me Joes number. Joe said he had just done a Tundra a few months ago and assured me it was possible. He ordered a modified drive shaft, installed the base plate and air brake adapter, and it all works like a charm. Rentz saved me as the Tundra is equipped with permanent video screens so there was no buying another truck. Everybody was polite and helpful and honest. There were no hidden fees or surprises, just honest work. :)
Great customer service
Knowledgeable patient and professionalThey were recommended by the local GMC dealer for all things towing I got what I needed
Tony the manager of this place is great hes got a great staff and great service if you need a trustworthy mechanic come to rentz. they have helped me many many times and never had any problems. they go beyond the expected to treat you right
Nice and friendly. Very helpful and willing to try new things.
Dont waste your time or money. Brought my RV in on Wed. Called on Fri told me the work would start on Sat. Called again Sat. afternoon to see when I could pick it up was told they didnt start it yet. Not a phone call or anything. Told them dont do anything to it Im coming to pick it up.When I got there no apologies no nothing. I really cant understand how there still in business!
We had a 20k 5th wheel set up installed in our 2018 GMC. They also installed an in bed electrical outlet. The price was very competitive and they completed the job in less than three hours. When we came to pick up our truck they took their time to explain the hookup and how to use it properly. I would highly recommend. Talk to Joe!
Great service and nice guys, got my boat trailer bearings serviced by the next morning even with it being their busy season. Ill never go anywhere else now.
Great guys! Experts at what they do!
I have gone to Rentz for a number of years with both my personal and business vehicles. They did a good job for a number of years and then something changed. In the last 2 years I have taken them several maintenance issues. Without exception every one had to be returned at least once because they did not repair the vehicle. Another time the owner denied they had replaced an alternator that had gone bad in less then a year. I had to go back and find the receipt and prove it to him. The final straw was when I had them install a face plate on my Jeep so I could tow it behind my motorhome. The brakes did not work and it kept blowing a fuse. I returned it 3 times to them. Same result. Finally took it to Habersonss RV. They told me who ever set this up had no idea what they were doing. It cost me $600 to correct their mistakes.
Great people, fast service!
Always fast, friendly service - these guys rock!
CROOKS. Unprofessional. Did not even call to tell me how much the job was before they started work. The work was sub par and there was damage caused to another part of my trailer. Could really not be any more unhappy with the work done and would never recommend this company to anyone. Its an absolute shame that the level of work has been dropped so low. This is one of those shops you definitely want to stay away from.
Good work! They need to work on communication skills but otherwise quality work
Communication is below par. I went in on a Wednesday to get some repairs and they said come back first thing Friday and they would take care of it. I showed up this morning and now they said I would have to leave my trailer instead of getting it done like they said. So I went to leave and the guy started yelling at me! Not a place I will ever stop by again.
My 85 cj7 was repaired by a mechanical engineer who new nothing about my car as in just a few months and the exact reason i put it in there is still happening..WhileTony was on vacation The staff was Rude Obnoxious absolutely Uncaring about the whole discussion about my jeep... a 1 star rating is only because tony is a nice guy
Great experience every time. Highly recommended!
I had routine maintenance done on my RV generator. But I will bring my RV back here when I need an engine oil change.
I got some suspension work done here on my Volvo and they did outstanding work!
Very helpful. Got me in and out even though they were busy.
Good price fast work showed me how to use the tow bar
My wife and I recently purchased a motorcoach and wanted to tow our 2012 Toyota Tundra. After being told by the RV dealer and Toyota that we could not tow with all 4 down I started researching and found the answer...a driveshaft disconnect kit. After contacting David at Driveshaft King in Dallas, TX he recommended me to Joe at Rentz of Clearwater since we were in central Florida. I contacted Joe and he took the time to go through the whole process with me as well as recommending the best braking system...an Air Force One. Joe communicated with me every step of the process and could not have been nicer and more professional. After completing the install of the baseplate, driveshaft disconnect and braking system we took the RV to his shop to complete the install. The Tundra tows perfectly behind our RV and is very easy to hook up and unhitch. Joe and his team were very thorough and professional throughout the entire process and treated us very fairly with costs. I would recommend Rentz to anyone looking for this type of work.
Awsome people and great service
They did a great job when the parts came in.
Rentz has exhibited a complete disregard for customer service, has mislead us as to what work was done, and has left us with a potentially dangerous situation that could easily have been avoided. We had our motorhome serviced with them a few months ago, and, apart from needing new brake disks, we were given the all clear to proceed on a trip with the RV.We were about to embark on a longer leg of our trip, so returned the RV to Rentz for a pre-trip service. We requested that they look at the reverse linkage and speedometer which wasn’t repaired first time. This issue was noted on the docket. After a week, we called them for a status update, and were told they had not even looked at the vehicle, even though an appointment was made 2 weeks in advance. Jake had every excuse imaginable. When we collected it we were told that they do not deal with transmission issues, all they had done was change the oil. No apologies, a complete lack of interest. We got an oil change (which is not what we signed up for) at just under $400.We postponed our trip and took the vehicle to local AAMCO.I arrived when the motorhome was still on the lift and immediately noticed a shock absorber was swinging free and two others had bolts missing. Anyone “servicing” a vehicle should notice this. It’s obvious that Rentz did not bother to exercise due diligence in servicing the vehicle – a really disgraceful situation.I went back to Rentz to complain and give them the opportunity to set the matter straight, but Jake and the workshop supervisor refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing. The owner was not onsite, and they refused to give me the owner’s cell number.Their sloppy attitude and disregard for basic fundamentals has cost us a lot of time and money, and could have cost us a lot more if we had not gone to AAMCO who were fantastic.
Great service 👍
Great folks to work with.
Jake will bend over backwards to help you!
Great service
Great service
They are my mechanics they keep me on the road and in business. Thanks Tony and James!
Good job guys!!!!!
