Long time customer who has generally had a decent time at this location.I wont be going back after they would not give information on firearms I had purchased at this store.I have called and received the information requested before without so much as a hiccup.Employee admitted to giving the information out over the phone sometimes and making exceptions, but would not for me regardless of the inconvenienceto me or the information provided proving my identity.I called back to see if I could contact a manager and was met with passive aggressive dismissals.Wont be buying from here again.

Always my go to place to shoot indoors and will always do business here. I love the staff and love the prices! Always send people here and even took my family members here to buy their first firearms. I read some of the negative reviews and they could not be any more untrue. Hope my good review is a good representation of the gun store.

Went by on my way to stay in Myrtle Beach this weekend. Price for ammo was as low as Ive found in months. Very appreciative of a store that doesnt price gouge right now. Service was friendly and selection was great. I just lucked upon this on a Google search but will definitely stop by everytime Im in the area. Highly recommended!

So today I visited the store to use the range with a friend. Pulling up to the place was not impressive. (I would have drove right past without a second look.) But once inside however revealed a gem of a store that stretches way back in off the street.We were both surprised by the numbers of people making purchases and the activity inside the place, ( on a Tuesday morning).The owner and his dog was there along with at least seven staff people working hard to service clients.I got help from the gunsmith who was also on staff. I was very impressed with the pricing of both the merchandise, (guns) and ammunition that I was able to get, (Federal 9mm @ 0.48 per round as of 3-16-21.)The Range Master was helpful and very nice to us. The range air quality was good and a fair rental charge came with ear protection if you did not bring your own.The store provided us with everything we needed and then some having a very well stocked supply of guns, ammo and after-market supplies.Far from a hugh mega store, this place is obviously a family owned establishment that has all the right qualities you would want without the needless over-priced merchandising you tend to find in these big box chain suppliers out there.I had been looking for a very specific item that they had in stock at a fair price. I know this because I did lots of due diligence on this purchase before pulling the trigger on this, (pun intended). If you find yourself in the area stop on in and check the place out. You may just meet a new friend and learn a thing or two as well. Dont forget to pat the dog.

Lots of friendly staff. Process slightly higher than normal - but lots of staff around. Appears that the indoor range does not have range officers though.

The absolute best place to buy a firearm. I’ve purchased many handguns from the folks at The Gun Store and I can tell you from experience that you will not find a more satisfying buying experience or better customer service anywhere. They stand behind what they sell and do their absolute best to correct any issues you might have with your purchase. For example, I had an issue with a handgun that I bought just two weeks ago that literally was falling apart after shooting it for the first time. If I had bought this gun from somewhere else, they would have most likely told me that I had to return it to the manufacturer for repair or replacement. Not the Gun Store folks. First they were going to take care of the repair of the gun for me, then they offered a replacement, a refund, or a full credit towards a different gun. I was absolutely floored by their amazing customer service. They went way above and beyond. Nowhere else would you receive that high level of service. I would not consider doing business with anyone else. They were amazing.

First time at this range, the staff was friendly and helpful, the range was clean and we really enjoyed ourselves. It was nice that the other shooters were experienced. We felt very safe and will certainly come back again.

Range professionally run! The air filtration is far better than another local range. Could use more bullet stock but all in all a good supply. Accessories regarding firearms are ample and easy to order via website or in person. A great place to keep up your skills. Friendly staff. Shoot there a couple times per month.

Decent place to shoot and knowledgeable retail side staff. Keep in mind that with the new rules, kids must be 12 to use the range and that’s only with long guns until they are 16 years of age.They no longer have an outdoor range. Big mild mannered Rottweilers roam freely so that may be something to keep in mind if you have any dog fears. (They appeared to be extremely well behaved and didn’t appear to be overly interested in the store positrons). Very clean and well organized.

This place is just plain awesome! I walked in and was greeted by an employee who seemed genuinely interested in why I was there. I stated that I had just purchased an item about two weeks ago and was looking for accessories. He replied in a concise manner and personally walked me over to the area in the store where the accessories were located. At no time during my 30-40 minute visit was I pressured to make my choices or simply walk out without what I was hoping to buy. The calm and friendly demeanor of the employees of this establishment makes for a happy customer. Should I ever be back in the Myrtle Beach/Conway area again, I will be visiting The Gun Store. I was sent here by a employee from Bass Pro Shop. He says you will not go wrong. He was absolutely correct. Our salesman Chris was great to work with along with being very knowledgeable. We purchased the Glock 43X. Extremely nice handgun! While there we signed up for their CWP class at night and now that I have taken it, I highly suggest you take the class at The Gun Store! Being retired law enforcement and fire, these guys will take care of you!

Really nice facility and large store with a variety of guns, ammo & accessories. Ive only ever shot outdoors with mostly long guns. Staff gave me some quick pointers on operating a hand gun & using the range. Great experience. Ill definitely return, and will recommend this range.

This is by far the best place to buy your gun. You get to test shoot before you buy as long as they carry it. The staff is so friendly its awesome. Do not try and force you into anything. Or hard sell. They make you feel super comfortable and are able to answer every question you have that comes with the responsibility of owning a gun. I bought my first gun from here, I go to the range once or twice a month, and I will always go there for any question or any other gun purchases I want to make!!! Thanks guys!!!

Great gun shop and range to shoot at. Indoor range is very well maintained and the rates are reasonable. Just completed the SC CWP class there and the instructor was professional and friendly. Purchased a Sig Sauer P320; the level of service I received from the guys behind the counter was excellent. Instead of trying to lead me into a purchase, they asked me questions about what I was looking for in a concealed carry weapon, and laid out my options. When the price on the box differed from the price on the tag by over $100, instead of forcing me to pay the box price (the higher one) they sold it to me under the price on the tag.Very customer oriented and helpful. Will definitely continue to do business here.

Ive been to a number ranges to shoot. Most use a magnet to make sure your only shooting brass rounds. I had to unload two thirty round magazines so the range idiot could check my rounds, not cool. He screwed my vibe up. I did two magazines and left. Not coming back there anytime soon.

I visited this store and range about a month ago to test out a few different firearms for my first one. The staff was incredibly helpful, the prices are very good, and the range is probably one of the cleanest ones Ive been to. Definitely a great place to shoot.

Brought my 9mm AR in for a little bit of work. The folks that work here are super nice and gave me a great deal on the labor. They also have a very clean, well set up store. Highly recommended. I will be back in the near future.

Great store! The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Great product selection from firearms to all the other shooting gear that you need or just have to have! The indoor shooting range is excellent and has 10 individual shooting lanes . The air quality is always clean and there is no long waiting times to shoot. All the local gun stores are good but the 701 is the one that we use the most . The Glock Doc, Dan and the other gunsmiths all do fine repairs on all my firearms .

On Spring break from NY. These guys were awesome. Very helpful and got a nice tour of the place including the range. Made a purchase with a smooth transaction.

I have been here twice and purchased something both times. The first time I dealt with an older gentleman who was a pleasure to deal with. I was glad to have found a gun shop, with an indoor range, that was a pleasure to go to. Second trip, complete opposite. Young guy helped me the second time. VERY rude and matter of fact. I did buy what I saw that I wanted but I will NEVER deal with him again. If whomever owns this business doesnt get a handle on him and his attitude, they will lose business. I have read quite a few bad reviews and they all had to do with him. If I find out that he is the owner, I will NEVER go back, EVER. Its bad enough he is working and getting a check here but I couldnt handle the fact of him being the owner and treating customers that way while reaping the benefits of their hard earned money!

Great staff, great selection, new and used guns, purchased a smith and Wesson carry revolver the younger salesman helped me make a choice actually steered me towards the lesser expensive pistol which was nice because you know they want to help make the right choice purchasing a fire arm rather than try to make more money off of you which I thought said a lot about their business. Ive always, always been treated pleasantly there, even when I go in by myself, without a man on my arm.As for the gimicky stuff they sell...the ladies gear?? Guess what, as one of the women who shoot there, I LOVE that stuff !!! Women make up 40% of gun owners in this area, buddy. Get over it.

RUDE EMPLOYEES: They have their own unique (but good) safety rules. If you dont do as expected (whether they have told you about them or not) they get arrogant and argumentative. Their version is not posted so be sure to ask detailed questions. I enjoyed the experience anyway, but I almost walked out when rudely confronted. I was not adequately informed about these special safety rules. I was safe, just not their safe. a 5 for the range, and a 1 for the personnel.

The guys at the shop were friendly and willing to hel, I was there once before with my son. Today had the grand daughter, she got to meet max, smiles, the gun range is nice plenty of help, I give it a huge thumbs up

I drive over 30 minutes to shoot here, when there are 2 ranges within 10 minutes of my home. The staff here are experienced, and knowledgeable. I recently took a CWP class here. It was informative and questions are welcomed.

First let me say that I had been to 3 other gun shops where there attitude was a woman wont be buying a gun so lets not wait on her.WRONG, not only do I have my CWP, but I knew specifically what rifle I wanted to buy my husband and was ready to make it happen. Within 30 seconds of walking into the shop I was greeted by several gentlemen and ended up working with David. After finding out they didnt have what I wanted in stock, David took his time and gave me some other options to consider. I had my heart set on a Magnum Research 22LR so David got on the phone, located what I wanted, and had it to me in time for Christmas. It was a little bit of a drive for me, but I am so glad I ended up at The Gun Store on 701. Weve already been back and enjoyed the indoor range too.

We were renting not buying. Range master was helpful but not overbearing. Nice selection. Only negative was the guns appeared to be dirty resulting in several misfeeds on 2 different guns.

Store is nice with good selection. Found a pistol were interested in buying for my wife. The employee at the range tried to overcharge us for range time and became rude and argumentative when we tried to explain. We left without buying the gun because of the individual. Too bad.nice place ruined by bad employee.

My son was looking for a 20 guage youth model semiautomatic shotgun in which they had 6 different ones for him to handle! Bought my first gun ever at age 73 four weeks ago. Purchased a Mossberg SA 20 GA shotgun to shoot clays. The younger sales person measured my LOP, but never said anything about dominant eye Three weeks later, I find out I have cross dominant eye syndrome making it difficult to shoot. The first thing they said was shoot left handed if possible or with both eyes open which causes a ghost.. If I shot LH, the shells would be ejecting over my right forearm and the Cast of the stock was for RH. They said it didnt matter. I expected better initial and post sales support.Ive since seen my eye doctor and I have been able to re-train my right eye to ignore the left eye dominance.Be smart and ask about dominant eye before buying if youre new to guns like I am.

Hands down best gun store in the state. I love this store.

To make a long story short, Rude employees who are only friendly to locals / regulars. Also the kid they have I guess as a range master gets off on ordering older people around like they are beneath him, and tries to cheat people out of money. First time and last time ever going to this place. The prices on everything is from 5 to 75 bucks more than other shops in the area I guess its to pay for all the decorations they have, given its a very nice looking place, its the people who are the down side. Perhaps they just discriminate by a persons looks or dress. they seem to be kind of gimmicky all around with a ladies night and an area for I am guessing gun purses... This place is completely about making money from rich white people. not a place for the working class / people who earn their money.
