I think that this service can be good if you need to rotate wheels or change wipers and have a time to wait, but their current staff seems not qualified for some serious auto repairs. In August 2021 I came with Prius sounding like Harley Davidson, with suspicion on exhaust leak. They removed and replaced the muffler, which cost me $419.58 and did not improve the sound at all. They explained it like that the muffler was truly bad and the replacement was needed, but that there was also a “MINOR LEAK FROM THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD ”, which was according to them much bigger and more expensive repair and they were not willing to do it that day. I made an appointment for 2 weeks later but then decided to go to another service. In Georges Auto Repair in Wakefield, they identified a cracked exhaust gasket, repaired it in an hour for 165.59$. The sound is great.

The people are always very friendly and super accommodating. They’ve worked on a variety of things and done inspections. Work is always high quality, honest, and done in a timely fashion. I have an old Jeep thats lived a hard life driving offroad. Im a mechanic by trade, but my Jeep gets treated like an old farm implement and it shows. I took it here for inspection, and it failed... as it rightfully should have. What set Pawtuxet Auto apart from the rest of the pack, though, is that they didnt try to take me for a ride and demand a bunch of unnecessary repairs. Inspection stations lose money when they handle customers like me who do all their own work, but the boys at Pawtuxet Auto stuck to the book and were patient, calm, honest, and even a little enthusiastic about me keeping my old Jeep roadworthy. These are the kind of mechanics you want working on your car, and I wouldnt hesitate to send somebody their way for service. No wonder theyve had a great reputation in the village for decades.

The most important quality of the Pawtuxet Auto Service team is honesty. They are skilled mechanics, good communicators who provide accurate estimates, and always get the work done on time. And most importantly? I trust them with both our cars, a Toyota Highlander and a Subaru Forester.

I have been using these guys for a few years now, and would highly recommend them. They have done repairs (some of which were major) on my Infiniti, BMW and Jeep, and were always professional. They have highly skilled mechanics who never tried to upsell me on anything, and in fact, honestly discussed what does (and does not) need to be done.
