Had a TV that was just a bit over a year start to have 1/4 of the screen being off color. Due to COVID the exact same model was literally 2.5 times what I paid for the orginal. Decide to do somthing I did not think was even a thing anymore and took it in to be repaired.Their price was fair, service was fast and the people honestly knew there stuff. They seemed to have knowledge on a ton of electronic subjects. Going to take in another thing here in the next week. They are worth give a chance too.

Ill be generous about this place, I brought in a belt driven turntable in and asked to have a cartridge replaced and supplied the afore mentioned part, but instead of getting what I asked for they decided to replace my entire tone arm which more then likely cost more then what I asked for. Well I guess they needed the money more then I do.

We have been taking items to AVE for over 20 years. They are always courteous and professional, and sometimes humorous. This last visit was to troubleshoot our 42 inch flat screen. The fix was only $130 but the TV was six years old, so we decided to not have it repaired. Not only was the troubleshooting free, but they disposed of the TV at no cost to us. Thanks so much for all of your help!

Absolute NIGHTMARE!!!! I scheduled to have a technician show up to my house on 6-20-19. I had to take the entire day off from work and they call me up that morning when they open to tell me that cant come out. They had a scheduling conflict and I would have to be the one that doesnt get a technician to show up. Told me to go somewhere else to find someone. I would not hire them if they were the last company on Earth. Stay AWAY people!!!! Total JERKS!!!! Wait until you read their response to my post, they will turn this around to make them look like an innocent business just like all the other ones before who wrote about their negative experiences. Come on Audio Visual, post your lying response NOW!!!!! And go!!!!! My response to their response: I told you that I could not be here at 4 pm today due to a Drs appointment! You never offered Friday, but did tell me I could reschedule for another day. You want me to take another whole day off from my job without pay and perhaps not come out again for a lame excuse! Just to prove your stupidity, you asked me not to use your business in the future. After writing the above, what would make you think that I would use your poor excuse of a business. As stated above, you are good at trying to turn the tables to make you look like the innocent one. Just to quote AGAIN my original response above, I would not hire them if they were the last company on EARTH. People read all of the other reviews prior to mine. You may want to brush up on your honesty and being truthful skills. You seem to be lacking both of these immensely.

Pretty negative experience. Would not even allow me to speak to one of their technicians to confirm they have the proper diagnostic equipment for my machine. None of the technicians will travel?

Completely unprofessional and unhelpful. Unwilling to provide any type of customer service.Associate George Harvey hung up on me while I was inquiring about possibly scheduling service. He did not want to listen to my inquiries but instead wanted to continue to talk over me about how “his company processes are” and that if “I didn’t want to do things that way, then there are other companies that could service me better.”I’ll spend my money other places.

Evaluation fee is reasonable. Found no fault in my amplifier. There was a little confusion regarding the paperwork that would be provided (showing testing/work on the amplifier), but we got it straightened out. I am going to test my amp again in my home system...possibly I had a system issue rather than an amplifier issue. Im glad that we still have audio repair shops like this around...there arent many left! Overall, I am satisfied with the service and responsiveness from this company.

Did a very nice repair on my 20 year old Carver Amp. I hooked it up incorrectly and thought it hadnt been repaired right. I took it back to the shop and they hooked it up correctly and were very patient with me and my OE. Very professional.

I’ll start by saying I have no affiliation to anyone at this business nor I have ever done business here. I felt compelled to write this because of the handful of negative reviews. My plasma TV went out, and I found these folks via the internet. Dropped it off and 2 days later I had a diagnosis. 1 day later everything was fixed. Fast service, knowledgeable people, and day to day updates from them. I’d definitely recommend based off of my experience and will be using them in the future.

I have had several service deals with this company. Most have been pleasant. My most recent however was not at all pleasant. My surround sound was in their shop for a total of five weeks. The communication is poor as I was never told at any point that it was going to take that long.

Had AVE work on an old Kenwood as the tuning dial mechanism needed attention. They did a great job fixing the problem. Tuner works as it should. The price to repair was reasonable. I moved here from the DC area and prices there to do similar work are a lot more expensive. Turnaround was what I have come to expect as there are not too many people who work on older receivers. Good experience. Will return for other vintage receiver projects.

I like to use local shops for both purchases and repairs when possible. I had used Audio Visual Electronics & Mr. Micro-Repair many years ago for a microwave repair which was a little pricey, but the work seemed okay, so worth going back.On July 17, 2018, I took my Yamaha CD player in because the drive belt was broken. I was not able to find a belt locally...and I was not comfortable ordering one on-line because the kits were a little pricey ($20+), and I wasnt sure of exactly what I needed. I was told that the shop was a little backed up, so the repair would take six weeks or so to be completed. I was then charged $40.66 as a tech service including tax. In mid-September, I called the shop; the woman who answered the phone was not able to give me the status of the repair...and I asked her to call me back when she found out. About ten days later, hearing nothing from the shop, I called with the intention of saying I wanted the machine and my deposit fee back. I was told that they had taken a look and were seeking the right parts. Almost two weeks later, a message was left on my phone to call the shop. I did so and was told that they would order the parts, and then a message was left telling me that the total would be around $88. I then called back to say go ahead and fix it... Two days later I got another message asked me to call, which I did. Again I was told that the repair could be made for $88. I AGAIN told the tech to fix the machine and let me know when it would be ready. Around October 4th, a message was left that the machine would be ready on Friday. I went over the following Monday and was told that the belt had been replaced the the machine cleaned. I hooked up the changer the following morning and when I opened the drawer to install a CD, I found dust inside the tray...so I decided Id better wipe it out before putting in CDs. After much messing about, I got the machine set up and it worked as it should.I will not return to this shop for any future repairs. They did not keep me in the loop concerning repair times, and while the belt is certainly doing its job, I find the cleaning to be slipshod. Looking back on this experience, I think I might have been better served putting the $94.16 I paid AVE toward a new machine. At least a new one would be clean coming out of the box.

Brought in a Denon receiver in February to have a speaker post fixed. It is now May and still do not have it back. No calls from them to let me know the status of the repair. I finally called them and they have information in the status of the repair. Bad thing you are stuck with this business because there are very few places that do this sort of work.

Terrible customer service. They have had our dvd player for 2 weeks and havent even looked at it yet. We were told when we dropped it off and paid the $35 deposit that it would be 6-7 business days! They said maybe tomorrow or Monday. Excuse me!? What am I paying you for?! Terrible business etiquette! I refuse to let my things get worked on by a business who has a Ill get to it when I get to it attitude! I would definitely look elsewhere!
