This location is better than the other locations. It has everything u need and everyone is so friendly no matter ur culture or race! π₯°
There produce is to expensive and one man stocking yelled at me in Spanish when I mentioned how big the red onions are trying to be nice to him. Over all the store is clean and things are easy to find but over priced. They have a little fresh baked goods aisle so thats nice. The cashier wasnt friendly to me but I noticed she was to the person in front of me and behind me. Both were Hispanic as was she. I am white. It made me feel a little uncomfortable as did when the man raised his voice at me. I dont speak Spanish so I have no idea what he said to me and Ill shopping for any South American food else where. Customer service and making your customers feel comfortable and welcome comes above anything else in a business.
I like this place! The spice isle, man! The things I could do with food if I had them all in my kitchen cupboards. Lol. I did feel like the kid cashier was being sarcastic in his tone with me at checkout. I could be wrong, and I have been before. Might have been a misunderstanding between cultures. Either way, I hope the rest of his day is amazingly devine.
Got some tasty green salsa! Papaya, lots of nice people
I love this place for things I cant get elsewhere. Huge pablanos, jalapeΓ±os, and always have habanero. I do wish that they had things in english on their meat counter because I dont know the language. I go to Asian shops when I cooking Asian. They explain everything. I want to be able to go all in on Hispanic cuisine. I also wish they had more burritos in the frozen section. That would be awesome. Really love this store wish they would help this white guy enjoy the cuisine to the fullest.
Great selection of produce along with alot of other things you wont find any other place! Tamales made in house and warm ready to eat! Baked goods for those with a sweet tooth! Spices, spices, spices! I could go on and on but Ill let you check it out for yourself!
I enjoy going here, the taco meat is a lot more cheaper than where I normally get it, and they sell the El Milagro tortillas here also which is nice. You really cant find them anywhere else.
Delicious food available in deli/meat counter/bakery. Helpful bilingualStaff. Food truck in parking lot had seating available.
Would give a 5 star but remodeling food/ kitchen area so couldnt get prepared food to go. I live there food. Got some real good bread though
More options better service more people tend to come here honestly
Well stocked store. Clean, and a lot of interesting items.
Went to get tostadas. A new favorite and different. Bought some peppers for homemade enchilada sauce. I like this store. Its an adventure to visit and browse and learn and try new food ideas.
I have never entered this building. But on several occasions, someone always buy what I tasted here, for the first time. And since then, the cheesey corn cup with spices, became my favorite lite dish. Super for one who just wants a quick response to hunger. Love the outer looks of the building also...
Little. Taste of mexicos finest damn mcds next door running down the property value though tighten up ronald mcdonald geeeez...
I am trying to find the same Mexican treats we had in San Antonio. It has been very hard.
Love this store. Always have the Freshest produce for a good price. Friendly Service. Thank you.
This is a great grocery store. Very large selection of both food for Latin cooking and general items that you would find at Hy-Vee.Most of the staff is bilingual. And everyone was friendly.
Awesome. This place had EVERYTHING you would need from a Mexican market. Yummy sweet bread! Awesome selection of Hispanic products. Fresh tortillas! Fresh mexican juices and cakes. I hope you stop in and see what I mean.
Great selection. Good service
This place is amazing! Has everything you can imagine for specialty Mexican groceries. Awesome bakery too!
I was in line and the other service worker at corn bar had told her I was there first but she still chose to serve the other woman who walked up while I was already waiting before her and even rung her out when I told her I was here first. Disgusting wonβt be getting my money anymore.
Excellent selection of Mexican groceries, great meat department. Mexican smoothies/drinks, bakery.
Lots of fruits and vegetables that you cant find cheap at other stores
Got what I was looking for. Friendly staff and customers.Too bad I have to drive 45 minutes but next time Im in Des Moines, Ill go back and ..Hago el mercado!
Love the food available there especially their baked goods. Large selection of meat, fruits & vegetables, & hot fresh food.
Very few workers speak English. Very frustrating!!
Pretty nice place
Great food and nice employees
Lots of authentic food and groceries to choose from it you want to make authentic Hispanic dishes however most stuff is in Spanish so it will help if you can speak or at least read it.
Terrible service people with little kindness how angry the employees are
A place to get great Mexican food
So much exceptional choices. Excellent infection control. Many favorites.
All the merchandise is good, but the workers are really rude, they even look mad if you fequest help finding something.
Friendly employees made this a very nice visit today. I picked up tamales, Mexican rice, and fresh-made corn tortillas for lunch. It was delicious!
Great pan dulce can be found here. I love how they have a lot of Mexican products that are not found everywhere.
Some employees are very rude they act like bosses.
Fast n easy
Great place to find what I need. The meat counter is great and so is the bakery.
Tapatia 3 is smaller but nicer better cooked food and guacamole and salsas
Love the tamales, pastries, especially empaΓ±adas, & other treats I get here. Staff is always very friendly- all speak fluent English & Spanish
Some items are good to buy here but others are a total ripoff. Dont buy all of your groceries here. They buy their items from Costco or Sams club. Wont give their prices over the phone
Very clean nice grocery store specializing in Mexican products. I purchased bake goods here and they were all tasty. They have great prices on cilantro and limes.
If I could give this store a negative 10 I would. They are over priced and the employees are rude.
π
Everything you need to make the best Mexican food.
Great spot for authentic Mexican groceries, if you love to cook like me
Amazing corn on the cob Mexican style
Nice people
Best mexican supermarket ever they had EVERYTHING
Love it. They have a great selection of items. Staff is always friendly and helpful. The homemade tamales are on point. I could live on them alone. :-)
I can find everything I want from Latino store
Always my go to for my Hispanic food needs!!
Way over priced the casher was rude not friendly at all . Couple of people asking for money outside waiting for you to get off your car. Wont go again
Biggest Mexican supermarket in town, excellent selection. They also have a huge variety of fresh meats and produce. Prices are very competitive as well.
I really like this grocery store however I think that their prices are extremely high. I feel like they raise prices on purpose and thats wrong
La Tapatia has the most complete selection of Mexican/Latin American products available in the metro. I would like to see them eliminate the monopoly that Goya has on their shelves, at least offer comparable products from other brands like Badia so that customers have choices. I saw quite a few folks looking at the Goya products and leaving empty-handed. Having self-checkout is a plus on busy days here, but donβt rely on them being available, as they are closed more often than they are available for customers to use. This being said, I wish they would make their store easier to get around in. Aisles are cramped, some arenβt even wide enough for 2 people to pass in. Recent rearranging in the past year or so has made things even more cramped. This review is being written during the pandemic, so I am gauging some of my feedback based on the current climate. Social distancing is not even remotely possible in this store. While I understand that rearranging the entire store to accommodate social distancing guidelines is next to impossible, the store does not appear to be taking any meaningful measures to protect the health of customers other than mandating masks inside, and plexiglass shields at the registers, along with signage encouraging social distancing and hygiene. If your store is not physically encouraging social distancing (laying out clear pathways for entry and exit, along with clear designated queues for checkouts) and enabling customers to maintain 6ft distance, then your other measures are in vain. Shoutout to the lady behind the counter at the pan dulce area for eating from under the counter with her gloves on and going right back to serving customers with the same gloves directly touching their food items. The combination of the lack of proper social distancing and the clear disregard for basic food safety/hygiene by this store make it clear that while they may have the best selection in the metro, they have no desire to ensure your health and safety while you shop/consume their products.
Excellent products good price
I love going to this store. The meat counter is amazing. I havent bought anything my family didnt just rave over
Always clean. Friendly.Fair prices. Hot Deli section has great food. Love the self serve bakery as well very fresh baked goods at awesome prices.
Decent place. If youre white and a woman, prepare to be stared at.

Always have the best foods and staff is very pleasant
This is such a fun place to go to. Its run by Hispanics for Hispanics and you cant find a better place to get fresh spices produce and meat. Most of the time the prices are lower than Walmart. They also have a bakery where they do the baking fresh on site. Check it out you wont be disappointed!
Nice place. Located right next to the interstate. Meat sections has lots of options and good prices. Friendly service all around!
Excellent place to buy latin products and great prices
Bad that girls are so rude
They have great stuff that other grocery stores dont haveThe food there is also pretty goodAnd the corn with mayo and cheese is to die for πππ
Foot or tires, either way the back of the building has the least traffic.
This is a good place. Its a nice little market. It has fresh decent priced Mexican bread. They had a good selection of breads too. The churros were stale and the bags my mom bought were twice the price they said they were. Otherwise I would have said five stars.
Good foods
Great food, clean and fast check out. But prices were alittle higher than last time
Love their tortillas, they are so nice even when you dont know Spanish they find someone to help you.
Fantastic little bakery section. Some unusual spices not found at regular stores. Really enjoyed and will go soon to try the cooked food.
Employees are very friendly and were very patient in helping me and my boyfriend find a specific ingredient.
Everything you could possibly want
My friend and I stopped in today, she was amazed at the produce and bakery. We had a little language problem but a very nice young lady helped us ask questions. The whole experience was wonderful. I love this store.
Employees speak English and spanish which is nice prices are cheap and you can get good hispanic food items or drinks here that you usually cant get from other places
Great produce, and the meat counter is top notch. Tried the adobada seasoned ground pork last time... so good! Ive managed to keep myself out of the bakery so far, but imagine I wont regret it too much when I finally venture in.
Clean but so expencive.
Great choices
Good prices on certain things. You have to compare. I can find stuff here other stores do not have. Cleanliness ok. Can use self checkout quickly so it is easy to be in and out.
Awesome carnitas & chiccarones
This store is fantastic. Meat and bread we bought was fresh and tasty. Place was clean and had many who were bilingual working on the day I went. Great store !!
Great place to find authentic Mexican stuff, a little pricey, but still a gem. The one on watrous and se 14th St is my favorite because they sell international calling plans for $5 a month. And they post community notes outside for people who need to buy, sell, or rent a room.
Staff are friendly, good meat selection and good fresh meat.. I live very close.. Just a good place all n all.. Maybe should obey the no parking signs, for it causes a possible accident when turning off grand avenue onto 17th st.
Mexican food galore, the place to go.
Very clean. Huge variety on Hispanic products. Great customer service. Pricing a little high. No weekly sales. Fresh produce is exceptional. Great quality.
Great place to shop.
Great food good prices. Tamales are wonderful!
My favorite place when buying my Mexican products, always fresh, and good prices. Staff is friendly for the most part.
Always good quality meat & everything is always fresh from their veggies to their pastries.
Quality products and a large selection. But at least half the aisles were under renovation as they were moving stuff around.Really nice people, good parking and good prices.
Always a good experience. Fresh produce and meats. Bakery is too tempting. Friendly staff. Great prices.
All I have to say is being from Chicago ots hard ti find good Mexican products and boom el milagro tortillas and all the pan youll love
Good mexicon corn
I dont know if they make it but they made awesome chick arrones
One of the best in town. A lot of fresh and great goods. Go check it out, you wont be desappointed.
