I remember my dad use to use this company before he passed and never had an issue. I had a cub cadet that they did work on around 20 yrs ago. Needed some work done on another rider, being an eastsider I thought I would call them instead of going to the other side of town and spending money there, so I called them up. Was told that since I didn’t buy the rider there it was going to be an extra $100? They don’t know what my situation was when I bought the mower 15 yrs ago. Being 15 yrs old I could be looking to buy a new mower. Guess they don’t want new customers in their shop? So thanks but no thanks, I’ll find someone else since they keep so busy with their former customers. The guy I talked to on the phone really didn’t care, doubt he even wanted to be there. Sure wasn’t there for customer service.So a week later after I have the rider in another shop they call and want to know if they could come pick up the rider??? I thought you were too busy with your returning customers and don’t need any new? I am not paying an extra $100 because of circumstances when I bought one 15 yrs ago. Again, thanks but no thank. And if I do need a new one I sure won’t be going there.Update: I hate when businesses make things up. Nothing was explained this morning in a 30 sec call. Not only are they too busy with their current customers now they flat out lie. You asked if you could pick up the mower when you called this morning. I said that it’s already in another shop, I wasn’t going to pay an extra $100 because I didn’t buy it there and you mumbled something about that being my choice and I hung up. I was told last week I would have to pay $175 upfront. $100 because I didn’t buy it there and $75 to pick it up and drop it off. Enjoy your current customers. I have no reason to make this stuff up. My review stands.Update: Because of your policy you just lost out on a sell. Just bought a brand new Cub Cadet.
Took our lawn mower in because it was cutting out. My husband told them that he had just changed the oil, spark plug and filter. He told them it was cutting out after it got warm and had been in use for a bit. They wrote it down as, wont start, and did a tune up (oil, filter, plug) charged us another $71 along with the $75 diagnostic. We took it home and it did it again. We took it back, they said they ran it and mowed with it and couldnt get it to do it. Told my husband he must be cutting too thick of grass with it, which is B.S. We had to go get it again or they were going to charge us more money. It is still cutting out!! WILL NOT BE BACK!!!!!WILL NOT RECOMMEND!!!
If it was a year ago, I would have been the person to tell you to go here. But never again will I step foot in the door again. Bought 2 brand new weed eaters for $1000. Comes with warranty. Took it in(2 months) after purchase because of issues. They said they will not stand by there warranty to fix or replace and to leave. Called manufacturer and P&P NEVER registered our items. They didnt do there job, was extremely rude! Luckily we have all receipts! But will not ever give them my service again. I recommend Clive power!

I bought a new zero turn mower from P & P about 3 weeks ago. Great follow through on everything they told me. I got my mower out today for the 3rd time to mow and the rear tire was flat with a split spot on the side. I called service and they arranged to have a new wheel and tire brought to me and installed, all on the same day. I live 40 miles away so I consider this GREAT customer service. Absolutely recommend P&P. They stand behind their sales.
We have always had excellent service at P&P Small Engines with getting the lawnmower parts we need. If we need to order and prepay they can do that over the phone with no problems. When I went to pick up the last order I called in and she cheerfully brought it out to the van for me. Since I had recently had knee surgery it meant a lot to not have to go inside the shop.
Ordered belts for my Ferris ZTR, they got here in two days and high quality parts. Very happy with them. Highly recommended.

Was having some issues with my Craftsman push mower, took it there to be serviced. I ended up having more issues with my mower than I started with after their repair. They mustve not made sure the mower works after replacing the carburetor and spark plug. They are friendly, however, friendliness doesnt make a mower start.

Ordered a power steer assembly for my Cub SZ. I got a call and was told it would be mid July or 1st of August before I received it.that was ok. You cant do anything if you havent got it. Yesterday I received a bolt I called and ask what the bolt was for. Then it hit me they could not charge PayPal until it ships. I told Kaylee that they better not charge me until it shipped. Later I had an email letting me know my power steering module was canceled. This is called deception.

Good luck getting through to talk to them on the phone. Youll be on hold for a half an hour. One time they had the parts I needed. The other time they had none of them. But since I could literally drive to the store faster than they answer my call, I drove over instead, to speed up the process. Also, their prices are significantly higher than other places I checked. For instance, I can get an air filter for my wood chipper at Northern Tools for $11.69, and found them for as little as $5 online. P&P charges $14.61 for the same thing. If you can wait a few days for delivery, youre better off getting parts online, or trying somewhere else.
We have been using P&P for 20 years. Always get great customer service (shout-out to Ashley) and great deals on the mowers/weed eaters/chainsaws weve bought from there. I highly recommend them to anyone!
These guys really know their stuff
After the storm hit last Monday we got to work cleaning up the mess of trees and limbs around the neighborhood. My John Deere CS56 seized up. They dont make chainsaws anymore. The part I needed was obsolete. So I called P&P Monday morning knowing it was going to be hard to talk to someone right away. Im glad I stayed on the phone, on hold and finally talking to someone to help me get a new chainsaw. They put my name on the last saw of that model they had on hand. Hot there as soon as I could. The store was busy with customers. The staff was amazing. Pretty calm and collected helping people. I have reccomend P&P to several people wanting to know where I bought my saw. Chase, the young gentleman who picked up and dropped off our Cub Cadet, was just as sweet and kind as can be. I believe it was Tim at P and P who actually called us and kept us in the loop, he was awesome. They completed the repairs in less than a week, the price was very reasonable and the mower works great. I cannot say enough great things about our experience with the team at P and P Small Engines!
Just moved to Iowa and was doing spring maintenance on my lawn mowers. These guys took care of me - even threw in a part I forgot to order. I will definitely use them from now on. Good prices for sure, but you can never go wrong with great customer service.

Absolute best service Ive EVER had. We have some massive tree work and all three of our chainsaws quit working. My father-in-law took them in to see if they can fix them. Not only did they get all the saws working again, they showed us how to fix them should we have these issues again and informed us of other potential problems we might have based on the size and brand of the chainsaws. They were informative, friendly, professional, and more than we couldve ever asked for.I highly, highly recommend checking them out if you have any small mechanical issues or need help. Those guys know whats up and will teach you how to fix them too.

They are so bad that they deserve no stars, but I am forced to give them one star. I called them. I sat on hold for 10 minutes, then a lady answered the phone. She said very rudly, We are closed, call back Monday, then proceeded to immediately hang up on me. I originally called around 1245 on a Saturday. If they value their customers so little, then maybe no one should buy from them and see if they have a business then.

Had to take my zero turn z246 in for service as it quit moving all together. Ended up being a broken tension spring which was covered under warranty. Had them put new blades on while it was in the shop. Service has always been top notch. Always good to deal with. Happy to have my zero turn back.

BUYER BEWARE do not ever give this company your money. I dropped off a chainsaw for an estimate to replace gas line. It took 2 weeks to call me with that estimate. They gave me a price that was higher than buying the chainsaw new, and then charged me for doing nothing. All I wanted was an estimate to decide if it was worth fixing.
Told me that my saw thats not even a year old was going to need a carb kit and it was going to be $240. They had it for almost a month. The only reason I took it to them was because I didnt have time to work on it. I pick it up the other day and payed the$35 for the diagnosis. Took it home and got into it and the air cleaner was full of sawdust. Cleaned it out and it runs fine. And to think I was going to buy a mower from them. Needless to say I wont be back and if you need something work on go somewhere else!

Try to buy local and you wind up going to Amazon anyway. NEVER put a novice on the phone at the parts counter. Ill have to wait 2 days, but itll be 1/4 the cost and I wont have to drive across town, again. Kudos!

No pressure on what to purchase but had answers for every question I had. Decided on Cub Cadet and loved everything about it when I got to use it for the first time today. I have used P&P for many parts purchase and have never had anything but good experiences. Love buying local and being able to service on site also.
My first and last trip to P&P lasted about 45 seconds... The older man at the counter refused to look up an equivalent to the actual spark plug i had in hand and the a carburetor I had as well. He just said we probably dont have it.. you dont have a spark plug to an everyday common Toro lawn mower?.. I asked him if he could look up the mower or the power washer by model name ( also had pictures of each unit). He said they dont like to make mistakes... They obviously dont like to look up anything for customers either...

Very disappointed in the lack of customer service and communication. When you order online and do curbside pick up there should be a number you can call to let you know I am here to pick up not sit on hold for over 15 mins be hung up on 2 times and still not get any response until I went to the door. He has the most annoying ads while waiting on hold but absolutely nothing about being closed Saturday for the holiday. So before I placed the order online I was on hold Saturday for over 20 mins waiting for someone to let me know if they had the parts available for pick up. Once I placed my order online Saturday, I got notification Tuesday that my order was ready for pick up- I will order online from now on.
I bought a small acreage a few years ago and needed a mower to take the chore time down. I was recommended to P&P by a friend of mine that uses them for all their commercial mower stuff and talked about how great the staff was. The staff treated me like I was the most important person in their business. They took the time to educate me without trying to sell me. Before I went there I had stopped at two other mower dealers and the service didnt even compare. P&P had any mower that would fit any budget I had in mind and didnt try to sell my anything!

I showed up on 3-22-19 in the early afternoon. I walked into the store and was greeted right away asking if I needed help with anything. I replied that I was here to look at riding mowers. I had not been there for about 3 years after purchasing parts to keep my LT1042 operating. The store layout has changed since then which I like and I can only assume the Staff enjoys it as well. I was looking to purchase a 42 riding mower. I spoke with the sales staff, we discussed things and even walked around and I found a 46 riding mower out back. The price was more than I was originally wanting to spend. I did purchase the 46 mower along with a bagger. New mower was checked out and loaded onto my trailer. I was impressed at how expedient they worked to get my needs taken care of. There were other customers in the store and the phone was ringing constantly.Had a great experience at P&P Small Engines. The new mower works great along with the bagger . I was greeted by a female as soon as I walked in the door, I dont remember her name though. After that I dealt with Jeff and Todd on my visit. They didnt know I was a repeat customer but still treated me like I was. Thank you P&P, the new mower is a great......my daughter thinks so also.

I bought a mower from P&P about 9 years ago and they have always taken care of me very well. This summer when we moved to a larger place, I needed something bigger. I stopped in and talked with Russ who showed me several options and made some recommendations on upgrading to a commercial mower, including the one he owns himself. I went home and did some research and found that the mower recommended by Russ was not only one of the best from a comparison perspective, their price was also several thousand dollars below other dealers in the area. When I called back to finalize the deal, they were so great to work with and accommodating to my schedule. Now let me tell you about the mower... When you ask someone about the best day of their life, you expect them to reference when their kids were born or when they were married...well, those people likely have not cut grass on a Ferris mower, because from now on when someone asks me, Im going to have to think about it a little harder....Big thanks to Russ, Jeff and the gang...Ill be back to talk about some snow plow options sometime soon.Thanks again

I purchased a Ferris lawn mower for personal use totalling around $6,700 in April 2017. The salesman knew the equipment well and showed me several options before I made up my mind. I would have given them 5 stars but when I picked up the mower a couple of days later the seat had not been moved back and the unit had not been power washed yet. These were items I requested when we did the paperwork. I pointed these issues out to the salesman and he acknowleged/addressed them right away and apologized. A couple of days later I stopped in to purchase spark plugs and filters for my other small engine equipment and they made every effort to find/order the correct parts. I feel that good effort was made during both of my visits. I plan on giving them as much business as I can in the future. If you want an awesome zero turn mower with suspension, go with the Ferris! I have done business with P&P for years and have always had good service. Recently my Cub Cadet developed a transaxle leak. After Jeff talked with Cub Cadet the repair was covered under the warranty. Had a problem with my lawn mower, I took it here to get it diagnosed. I was kind of foolish and didnt look it over well enough. The guys at P&P took it in, a couple days later I was called and told what the problem was. Because it was such an obvious thing (the side of the engine was split open) I was told there would be no diagnostic charge (normally there is a fee) because it was such an obvious problem, and it would cost more to replace the engine than what it was worth. (Note sure how I missed the problem!)Its nice to know they were honest and told me they didnt really do anything when they could have just charged me and I wouldnt have even known until I got home.

This is a great local shop to support, however after todays experience it went from a 5 star shop to a 3 star.. I called and asked about a John Deere Deck Belt, I was told yes we have it in stock.. I drive 30 mins to buy it and the front desk tech says we dont sell John Deere equipment because we cant look up their part numbers. I say when I called someone said you had it in, I get the same response. Wasted an hour of time driving here and back.
Ive bought a mower and weed whacker from them ... not only do these items run great, but if I do need service they are professional and quick to respond. There is nothing to compare with the service you can get from a small business - knowledgeable, friendly and there when you need them!
