I do most repairs on my vehicles and got in over my head with an axle repair. I visited Richins Auto Repair and received a quote for the work I needed done. The price seemed to be extremely fair and they said they could perform the work the next business day. When I dropped the vehicle off I was concerned and asked to go over the quote again and to confirm the scheduled completion time. I was so put at ease when they called and the work was done that same day and the price was to the dollar match of the quote. Based on this experience I will recommend this shop to others. Richins Car Service has worked on our vehicles for a number of years. They are always easy to work with, communicate well and are honest about the work they do and prescribe.The first time I went in and needed a major repair they made sure to take pictures of the broken parts so that I would feel confident in their diagnosis.Most recently I needed a full transmission replacement. They researched all the options, took time to walk me through the process including making sure I was aware of the things I could make choices on, and they gave me an accurate timeline for when I could expect the work to be completed. And they beat the dealership, using parts from the automaker, by 15%!

The Service was Excellent t. Not sure if the price was right, but I don’t care, they made it up in Service and Speed. I had a Water Pump Issue and as soon as My car got there they Turned it around in 24 hrs and I Received My Car back. I got Great feed back and Customer Service from Kelly the Mechanic that Fixed My Car. Can’t say Enough, Thanks Again Kelly!

The whole team at Richins was very helpful as we repaired our car. They communicated with us along the way and did a great job taking care of the repairs. They worked well with our insurance and kept pictures and damaged parts in case we needed evidence as our claim was being finalized. They were helpful, thoughtful, and made everything simple for us!

I went to another place who didn’t do the service I needed and they recommended Richins. We were traveling out of town when the belt broke. No power steering, no AC, engine over heating. I thought we were sunk. 2:00 on a Friday, no place to stay and we end up at at an unknown repair garage.The front desk was very helpful. Came out and identified the problem and a secondary problem I didn’t see. The fear was that the job could not be finished before they closed at 5 PM.They did it all! I am a happy camper. This is my first time using Richins, but it won’t be the last. I went in pretty sure that I needed a power steering pump. I even told them that, but they determined that it was just the belt. A lot of mechanics would have just replaced the pump. They saved me hundreds and most importantly I trust them. The car is working great now. Use these guys.

This was my first time using this company. It was an intermittent issue. Naturally, It wasn’t happening during their diagnosis. But instead of taking and acting on an educated guess, they were honest about it and gave me some recommendations and sent me on my way. They performed many tests and did a lot research but they didn’t charge me for any of the tests or the $99.00 diagnostic fee that I was quoted and agreed to before taking it to them. I’m in the service industry and understand the situation they were up against because I’ve been in these situations many times also. They handled it the same way I would have. I would have at least charged for the initial diagnostic fee. Good people here. I recommend them. I did not learn what was wrong with my vehicle but I did learn that they are honest and I will be going back and recommend them to others. Thanks Richins! The people at Richin’s are great. They are always available. They offer great service. They keep my updates on my cars status when in the shop. They never charge me for unneeded things, and they never Surprise me with unknown work.

Just moved back to the slc area from California and noticed my AC couldn’t keep up with this heat. I asked around and everyone highly recommended Richins Car Service. They did not disappoint either! I figured it would take all day to get my car back as that’s what every shop that I called before told me but not only did they call me an hour after I dropped my car off and gave me the exact issue with it and they were able repair it within a 3 hour time frame. They were all so lovely and funny, my sister is a friend of many of the guys at Richins and I’m so happy she recommended them. Although the gentleman that was working on my head gaskets at a machine shop took about a week longer than originally spoken about, the guys at Richins were kind and informative. As soon as I brought it in and when they got the heads back my car was taken car of efficiently. I came in last minute to try and get an alignment done. Spoke with whom I presume to be the owner. He did everything he could to accommodate me(despite being down a master tech on the day) and would have gotten it done if I was able to leave the car there for the rest of the day. While that wasnt doable for me I do really appreciate the time he took to try and make it happen. I wouldnt hesitate to go back given different circumstances.

I was visiting from Iowa and the same night I got here in Draper my brakes started acting up and I knew I couldn’t make it back home in two days with them like that. I took my car here to be diagnosed upon seeing high local ratings. Be prepared... They are busy. Can take days to get your car looked at. But they seem fair, honest and have very competitive prices. I gave 4 out of 5 stars due to having to make an appointment 3 days ahead of time and even with a scheduled appointment I waited an hour before my car was looked at. Because they are so busy I was told I need to leave my car there for up to a week for a 13hr job to fix my car. Im sure for smaller repairs this may not be the case.

They got me in w/out an appointment and repaired my Landcruiser quickly. Kelly and the team were great to work with, very nice and professional and they did a great job, at a great price. I would highly recommend Richins and will be use them whenever I need service on our autos.

This place is the worst! We brought it in expecting what was wrong and told the mechanic what we figured it was. We were expecting him to run a diagnostics or some thing but he literally just told us the exact same thing we already knew and still charged us $120 to have it in his shop for two minutes!!! Such a joke

My air conditioner went out when it was 107°. It took me a few days to get into them, but they were quick, efficient, and very fair on the price. These are the greatest group mechanics I’ve ever met. Every single time we come in, they bend over backwards to try to help us with whatever our needs are. Even if they’re busy and we come day of in an emergency, and they don’t have time, they somehow seem to make time. They are honest, they don’t try to sell you on something that doesn’t need to be done, they are consistent, talented, and completely dedicated to their service and their company. We have been nothing but impressed for the last many many years we have used them and since we found them, we don’t want to go anywhere else. Plus they are funny. They always make me laugh when I go in there. That’s just a plus.

Best mechanics to work with. Always honest, transparent, and timely -- they let you know whats really going on with your car and explain if/when things actually need to get fixed. My car has major issues (manufacturer problems) and theyre more knowledgeable about servicing it than the dealership. Theyve also saved some family members from making a bad car purchase. Wont go anywhere else now.

Wow! I was stuck on a busy day with a dead battery! They came to me with a quick jump, I followed him back to the shop where he dropped in a new battery . I was so happy! They were busy too, yet it only took Hunter 30 minutes fir the whole darn thing!Best service ever!

Came in for shock installation at the scheduled time and was informed it would cost time and a half because I had bought the shocks I wanted myself. The shock was on me when it cost $282. Poor communication and I felt the price was very high for a small job.

People - I was with my previous mechanic for ten years. The change in ownership in recent years made me feel frustrated and disappointed. Part of me wanted to stay with a mechanic that knows my car. Im not kidding you when I say I want to CRY from happiness for what they did for my car. Last Wednesday, I took it in for a general lookover. They did their spring special on it and made some recommendations. They induced ZERO panic and put on ZERO pressure, which is worth noting for the female car owners. They explained to me why my car was so shaky - I needed to have the motor mounts replaced. OH MY LANTA. My car has been SO loud and SO shaky for SO long, getting in my car just 15 minutes ago after they fixed it was like driving a new car. Ive taken really good care of my car the last 12 years, so to have it look/sound/act like it is so rewarding and exciting. So I took my car into Southtown VW for warranty repair work, they said I need new rotors and brakes and quoted me a price. I called around and Richins had the best price. Dropped off my car there. They called me in 20 minutes said that brakes and rotors are totally fine. No repairs needed! I was amazed at their honesty. They have the best prices, and are totally honest. I told all my friends about them. Going forward, I will be using them for all repair work.

I have taken our cars to Richins for years now. After relocating from Atlanta, it was important to find a car repair service that we trust. Richins was referred by a coworker/friend who is a long time Draper resident.

I made an appointment for Richins because of the great reviews they have. They were great, very professional and friendly. They even gave me a ride back to my place after I dropped off my car, since it was going to take awhile to get everything checked. I had to get a few things looked at. I thought maybe my brakes and wheel bearings were going bad, but instead of that it was one of my control arm that was bad, so I had to get that replaced and get a wheel alignment, with an oil change and spring check up. Overall a great experience.

We have been using Richins for many years now. We get extraordinarily good service and quality work time after time. I think what sets them apart is how well they communicate with us. Within a day of dropping off the vehicle we get a call and they walk me through what needs to be done and how much it will cost. We agree on work to be done and a short time later we get a call to pick up the vehicle. When we pick up the vehicle, they always walk us through what they did to include showing us parts that had to be replaced if there are any. They are very transparent with the bill too as they show part and labor costs. To top it all off, their work is top notch.Our family has 4 vehicles. Richins has worked on every one and 2 vehicles we no longer have. With maintenance and repairs on all vehicles we visit them many times a year. I recommend Richins without hesitation. We would not go anywhere else.
