If youre looking for a study spot or a cozy date, its great. However. If you like a properly prepared cappuccino or other crafted coffee youre out of luck. Theyre partnered with Phoenix Roasters, which made me think it would be good, but they BURNED that coffee. My cappuccino wasnt cool enough to drink for 25 minutes. It was burned and bitter and the foam was gone within 10 minutes. They seem to have a great menu overall but if you advertise COFFEE. MUSIC. BOOKS. I would really hope youd take some time to truly learn the art. Ill go there to study, but Id stay away from the coffee for sure.
If you are looking for an amazing coffee shop in Duluth,Georgia look no further! The coffee shop is absolutely amazing. They have a great selection of books to read and music. They even have a stage for bands to perform. The Owners are Super friendly and make you feel so Welcome. I really enjoyed a Cappuccino in a real mug and an apple pie pastry. The owner even gave me a sample of a waffle pastry they offer. The Coffee shop is super clean and definitely on my list of coffee shops to visit again in the near future. Great place to bring your laptop to study and work on projects. Lastly I have traveled all the World and the United States. Also I am originally from Dublin, Ireland and Cafe Rothem reminded of some great coffee shops over in Dublin. Cafe Rothem definitely rates five stars and more. Looking forward to returning soon.
This coffee shop has really nice ambiance. Good to go and study or work but not so quiet that you cant also go with a friend and chat. Interesting menu items and always quick and friendly service.
Great atmosphere. Slow classical music playing in the background. Relaxing. This is more of an actual cafe with some deserts, baked goods and books all over the place. Coffee takes time, but tastes better than typical Starbucks or Dunkin where things are manufactured and made fast.A different vibe than a corporate coffee shops. Friendly workers.Became one of my favorite hang out places in Atlanta.
This place is great for studying but only if you come at the right time. There is a small limited space to study and plug in your laptop. The coffee is average but they do open mic which I think is awesome. They do make some delicious smoothies! Their food taste frozen or microwave but Im giving it a 3 because the environment is so chill.
This is one of the best coffee shops in the Atlanta area. What makes it great is the very nice ambiance when you enter. There is continual jazz music playing and it has a very relaxing feel to it. The owners are always smiling and are very pleasant. I noticed they take precautions during covid everything is so clean, so it feel safe to sit for a while. The teas are delicious hot or cold and they also have a lunch menu and pastries. Their price is reasonable.
One of the best places to come and study! I love this hidden jewel. Great atmosphere and family owned..love that! Great food and music!!
Excellent coffee & service.
Love the atmosphere! Very friendly people and very yummy offerings!
Great drink and snacks. Good music with sound coffee grinding sound to help concentrate on whatever you are working on.
Really tasty treats
This is a cute local cafe stuffed full of books, music, and nice company. The have a good selection of teas and coffee. They also have a limited but well thought out menu that is priced very reasonably. The rice bowls were even better than expected and the mango smoothie made a great contrast to its slightly spicy elements. This is a great place to meet for coffee or tea and I look forward to going back and listening to music from some of the local artists.
Great study spot with excellent coffee. The staff are super friendly and the atmosphere is very nice. Makes for a great date spot.Overall, this cafe is awesome! One of the best in Georgia. They even host events like open-mic nights!
Cafe rothem is genuinely the best cafe I have ever gone to. I go there with my boyfriend very often, weve gone through at least 4 punch cards, and we always order the rice bowls. The rice bowls are the most delicious thing I have ever eaten as a meal! The family that owns it is always super sweet and one of the older gentlemen even recognizes us now when we go in and always asks us how we are doing and is just the sweetest man. They recently won the best cafe in all of Atlanta and they honestly deserve it. The vibes in the cafe are super calm and relaxing, and I honestly hope they never close because I ways want to keep coming back.
How come a coffee shop, on a Sat. doesnt open till 10:00?
Laid back space, friendly, personal service, okay coffee (arguably not what youd come here for). Chill vibe for reading, gaming, and connecting, with a terrific library of mostly Korean book titles (of decidedly Christian curation) that you can check out, and a ridiculous vinyl collection that alone is worth going back to study. One star off because theres no excuse for this (or any) place to not have killer coffee ;/ Thanks to James and staff for keeping the doors open on a dreary, rainy, cold night when Im sure he would have closed early if wed departed sooner. Definitely check this place out.
This is likely the most elegant Cafe in the area that Ive found. The quality of the ambiance is teeming with character. The walls are covered with books, vinyl, and CDs; and the coffee is rich, smooth, and flavorful. I havent tried the food yet, but Ill be sure to order probably every item from the menu because of how unique this Cafe feels. There is a small stage which seems to be utilized on certain days of the week.
What a cool place! They play jazz music and have a whole wall of records. The owners are incredibly nice and made me and my friend a fresh pot of coffee to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. There are comfy chairs, tables and books everywhere to enjoy. A gem!
In the age of Starbucks, we have forgotten what an elegant, independently-owned coffee shop can be! Cafe Rothem is classy, beautiful, peaceful and very, very comfortable! Oh....and the lattes are awesome! I highly recommend it for meetings with friends, or even better, a quiet place to read a book and listen to soft jazz by yourself. So, so glad that I learned about it!!!
I usually don’t write reviews, but this place is awesome. The service is amazing- they really go out of their way. The set up and the menu is unique. I can whoever the owners are they put a lot of effort into this place!
Such a really cool and classy place!! Stopped here to get coffee, lunch and then logged on for several hours. They have classical music playing with a library/cafe feel. Very Nice sandwich and coffee!!
They selling instant Ramen thats $1.99 at the store for $6.99 and people stupid enough to buy it.
I love this cafe. 70s and 80s atmosphere of korean music cafe with great coffee and snacks. The owner of this place must really loves old music. Local artist live performances are great plus. I saw a group of youth doing bible study in the corner. This place is just awesome!
If youre a tea person, then is for you. They have a larg selection of teas. It looks like a library and they play very relaxing music. Its the perfect place to study.
Such a cute local coffee place. I love the amount of books that they have lining the walls.
This places rocks! Excellent nitro cold brew!
Love this quaint and relaxing coffee shop. In addition to a nice selection of unique teas, there are books and music stacked to the ceiling. Its a great spot to take a breather. Today Im enjoying the jazz music, almond cookies and green plumb iced tea. Yummy!
Great cafe. The drinks and food here are good, but the big attraction is the occasional live performances by local artists. The space has a super chill vibe and its a great place to hang out. Definitely recommended if you are looking for a cafe. Follow them on social media to get all the alerts on live music events.
Very nice and comfortable place with coffee and music. Its a unique cafe which keeps involving culture and art.You can choose any vinyl from thousands of LP and ask DJ to play.
If you are looking for a place that has good music and great coffee, you got to check this place out it is incredible also forgot to mention surrounded by books and Vinyls
Cutest place! Although I’ll be honest. Couldn’t try their drinks but the place is adorable.Has like a vintage look and makes you want to just pick up a book and read or just study. If ever it rains and I have an off day this will be my goto with a good book and diary.Who would have known this place would exist?
This is the perfect place to relax or study with jazz music in the background and excellent tea, coffee and am eclectic assortment of goodies to eat.
This is exactly what I hoped for when I jumped on google maps tonight to look for a coffee shop that I could work at. Great atmosphere, great instrumental music playing in the background, and great tables to set my laptop on. Not to mention the excellent desert options and perfectly blended ice coffee.
Unique cafe experience. Yummy vegan cookies. Order smoothies with milk, peanut butter, or bananas as vegan substitute.
Great, quaint coffee shop in Duluth. Various large round tables throughout with the walls adorned in book shelves that you could actually rent out from them! They have a grand piano and a small stage where they have small events such as nights with people performing music or poetry readings. I like to go there during the day and grab a hot tea and one of their bakery items and work on my laptop. Its relatively quiet during the day but does get busy during certain times, usually in the evenings. I find it a nice and peaceful atmosphere and its a refreshing change from your typical starbucks. Super friendly staff and great service. Free wifi for customers. Great place to grab a coffee with a friend or go by yourself and just enjoy the light instrumental music in the background and get some work done. Highly recommend!
Owner is so kind and I can see his smile. GREAT service and coffee!
From the moment I walked in and was greeted by the comfortable surroundings I wished that this coffee shop would be closer to where I live. It looks like there are evening concerts - a stage, a drum kit, mixing board, electric keyboard, and even a baby grand right inn the middle of the dining area. That and the floor to ceiling books and albums that surround you, the lighting, and the cushy seats at sturdy wooden tables set up the atmosphere for a comfortable place to settle in.Oh, and the coffee and treats were good, too.
Kind people, and good interior
This such a nice place to read a book, study, or catch up with friends. The owners are very friendly and the atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing overall. Make sure to try their caramel macchiato and waffles (they taste as amazing as they look!)
Staff is literally so so so nice, and this place is so quaint and wonderful! The atmosphere is very cozy! Would always return here, if I didnt live so far :(
A lovely spot with even lovelier staff/owners! Great coffee, awesome selection of treats, and welcoming atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back!
Love James and his wife, the owners! They are a delight. Coffee, food and pastries are the best. The store is multi cultural. Would recommend to anyone!
Beautiful interior of books, records and great coffee. The owners are kind and hospitable. Really enjoyed the selection of music as well
I would have given them a five but they close early. Their live music is so limited. However the ambiance is very welcoming and relaxing.
Good food, atmosphere, and music! 3rd son John is very good looking so come see him too. Nice collection of books you can read also!
Owner is very kind and helpful. Space is extremely cozy and awesome for studying. Great wifi and has outlets!
A great place to work or study. Good menu, nice staff.
This is a quiet, cozy and great place to study and get lots of work done. Their coffee is fantastic and the owner is very nice. Im so glad I tried it out!
One of the best cafes in Georgia. Awesome atmosphere and they have great events happening all the time.
Nice internet cafe, great coffee! Food good too. Background music a bit loud but overall, nice place to camp out with laptop, hidden gem.
Casual comfy jazz cafe open late with music. Have to try the siphon coffee!
This is the perfect coffee shop! Cozy, has WiFi, and great for studying. The owners are very sweet, check on you, and do refills on coffee. My favorite spot!
Great atmosphere. Small but specialized food menu (Korean). Good drinks. The music was a bit loud for me.
Awesome, unique and special place. Highly recommend this place for a relaxing morning before you start your day or catching up with a friend! Love it
Wonderful place to grab some coffee and do some work. The staff is friendly and the music is choice.
Met a friend for a drink and snack here. We tried the pat dogs, which is a sweet waffle stick filled with red bean mixture. They serve tea by the pot or cup and have an assortment of flavors to choose from.
GREAT place to chill and get some work done. Awesome atmosphere.
I love this place! I was looking for a nice place to study and i found it. I hesitated to even write a review because I dont want it to be packed with people the next time I go! Lol! I had a latte that was so hot and good! It was better than Starbucks. It just tasted REAL and made Starbucks seem commercial. (Trust me. Ive actually had lattes in Italy.)The people were warm and welcoming. It just felt like going to your aunties shop. There is a feeling of inclusiveness here. You can tell that it is run by good people.I also had half a turkey sandwich that was off the chain. All of the ingredients were fresh. The lettuce was ever so crispy and the bread was a sweet grainy wheat. It was so damn good just to be a turkey sandwich! Lol! It also came with a bag of chips. They put it on a cute wooden serving tray that you take back to your table. The sandwich is wrapped up in a piece of wax paper with a toothpick stuck through it to hold everything neatly in place. It was placed onto a cute decorative plate that reinforced the feeling of being at aunties coffee shop. Everything just seemed like it was made with pride and love.
Great Place! Super cozy atmosphere and the owners are so welcoming and nice! the drinks are pretty well made as far as i can tell, Im not much of a coffee guy, but lemme also just say their food is like 9/10 great. Its mainly kind of niche, being korean food because korean owners, but its good price, super tasty and filling. the walls of books just add to such a chill atmosphere, and the place also has decent wifi
The coffee is excellent. And the music is really really nice!
Coffee was fresh and all of service was great.
Decided to check this place out on its grand opening. The inside is very cozy. I ordered a green plum crush which is like a green plum slushie. I had the sweet waffles (which were full of cinnamon sugar) and some caramel vanilla nitro coffee. It was all really good.Something cool to note about this cafe: On one side of the cafe there is a shelf full of Korean and English books which you can read at your leisure. The other side is full of what looks like close to 1000 records ranging from classical to country to jazz. You can look through these records and make a request and they will play that record for you.All in all this seems a nice little place to sit down and have a conversation with a friend or to just have some peace and quiet for studying. I hope this place sticks around for a while!
I had a delightful experience at Cafe Rothem. A great and peaceful place to study
Great place to hold an event, perfect for an intimate performance. I think they can hold 50-60 seated.
Great music selecrion from every era and any genre all while you enjoy excellent coffee and desserts.
Nice atmosphere and good waffle cakes, great space to hold events and open mics.
Super cute! Good, strong coffee. Classy music
Its a nice place for get the drinks and rest.
Good music. Great coffee. Awesome atmosphere!
They have really nice coffee! Always enjoying their special events, very creative :)
Great place to get work done! Great vibe try thr nutella waffle!
Really great for reading, studying, working, or hanging out
Best coffee shop in the Johns Creek/Duluth area to study and get work done. Large spacious tables, outlets, WiFi, wonderful atmosphere and employees. Im used to the cozy coffeeshops of Midtown and Downtown Atlanta such as Chattahoochee Coffee Company or Revelator Coffee, and some of the coffeeshops in metro Atlanta have been disappointing due to their lack of a cozy study atmosphere. Cafe Rothem is an exception, and is a great place to work or just relax with friends.
This is a must experience coffee shop. If you like vinyl, coffee, romance, or even just a nice atmosphere. Give it a try.
A hidden surprise off Peachtree Industrial Boulevard. Café Rothem is spacious and welcoming. The surrounding bookshelves, the ample tables, copious e-outlets, fast wi-fi, and warm wood furnishings make it a practical stop for a quick business meeting or reading time. The eclectic background music is relaxing delight (jazz standards, bossa nova, etc.) Theres even a fully-equipped musical stage. A family owns and runs the place; it was a pleasure to meet them too.
Ive been waiting for a cafe like this in duluth area for years. Good food and drinks of course but most importantly, they do live jazz and open mic at times. Leh go
A really chill environment to be in, especially when theres open mic nights! The drinks are great too, would highly recommend to anyone!
Such a cool place ❤️
Really nice open space that does open mic every month or so!
Lovely owners and atmosphere. Give it a try.
Very good coffee, quiet place, perfect for getting some work done.
Its a cozy place and food & tea are great!
