Best place to buy a truck and have it built just right. I went to the Body Shop after I purchased this used Nissan from Jacob Marshall and they did a little customization for me. Those guy can do amazing work and got it customized exactly the way I asked. Josh and Scott are great.

I was having transmission issues with my car. My appointment to have my car checked wasnt for several more days. I called the service department and Leann instructed me to bring my car in ASAP and she would get it worked in. When I called, I was about 100 miles from home and I was genuinely scared I was not going to make it home. Leanne called me after 9 pm to make sure I made it home safely. You cannot beat that level of customer service!When I brought the car in the next day, I found out it was going to cost more to fix the car than what its worth. Leann introduced me to a saleswoman named Maggie. My credit is not the best, but Maggie was not going to let me leave in an unsafe car. She made calls upon calls upon calls to find a lender that would work with me. I left in a new-to-me car and I feel better knowing I am safe! I could not have done this without the amazing ladies at Grindstaff Ford in Elizabethton!

My mother has a Ford Focus, which has had multiple recalls on it. She took her car in because it was not running right, and they told her it was due to the recall. The part was not in stock and they had to order it, and she had to leaver her car there because it was not drivable with this issue. They refused to offer any kind of rental car at all. Told her the recall only comes with a rental for one day (even though it was their fault the part for a RECALL was on back order) she has called every day for over 2 months and finally today (Friday) the part came in. They then inform her that there are a lot of other people with appointments so they will call back next Wednesday to see if they can schedule something! Her car has been there 2 months she should be first in line! Unbelievable! I chose not to write a bad review this whole time, because really it is Ford that has a bad policy regarding the rentals, not grindstaff specifically. However, my mother has had her car in their parking lot for over TWO MONTHS now and they say they will get to her when they can. I 100% do NOT recommend Thai dealership! My husband also bought a 2020 Dodge Ram and their customer service was terrible as well during that experience. Just drive a little further and go to JOHNSON CITY!

Have been going here for years, even bought my car new here, but definitely wont be going back after my last visit. They tried to overcharge me for my service and acted like it was an accident when I called them out on it. Just buy and service your cars anywhere but this place.

Nationwide Insurance has this shop listed as a preferred body shop. I called to set up work on my car and I needed a rental. All of this was approved through Nationwide but when I spoke to Ervin he stated that Nationwide would have to approve the rental car since I needed it for longer (I live an hour away and didnt want to drive back and forth for an estimate and then repairs, Nationwide told me that I could work out with the shop to do estimate and drop off same day) I communicated to Ervin that Nationwide had just told me the shop would do that and they approved the length for the rental. Ervin kept telling me that it would have to be approved even though I told him I had already gotten it approved. This is all before he even got any information from me on the claim. This was the initial conversation and I was trying to set up a drop off appointment. Since the initial contact was this difficult I will never trust them to do any work for fear of complications that are unnecessary because the staff cant or wont answer a question with an answer instead of a dance around the issue and make statements without getting all of the pertinent information. I told this guy several times that Nationwide had just approved it and told me to work it out with the shop and he kept saying he couldnt do anything without an approval from Nationwide. Problem was he never asked for my name, claim number or any other pertinent information.

Edit: The reply to my review is untrue. I was definitely there. As I waited for the salesman, Andrew, to locate the keys and vehicle he assured me they had I test drove a Compass with a salesman in training who couldnt answer a single question I had. Kinda strange the business card I have this dealer has the same address as the business card Andrew Bailey gave me.I called the dealer ahead of time to make sure they had the vehicle that I am interested in and was told that they would have the vehicle and the keys ready and waiting on me to test drive. When I showed up the young salesman spent about 20 or 30 minutes looking for the keys or trying to get a hold of someone who had the keys for the vehicle which I couldnt even find on the lot. not only did they tell me it would be ready for me to test drive when I got there but I also told them that I was driving from quite a ways away and was very upset that they did not have the vehicle I was wanting to look at. I felt like the salesman lied to me just to get me on the lot. I will never go back there.

We called upon Grindstaff Ford when our daughters car was damaged in an accident. We live in IL, and our daughter is attending college there, so we were concerned about managing this from a distance. Josh Nash in the body shop provided excellent customer service and communication throughout the entire process. He helped make what could have been an incredibly frustrating and stressful experience manageable, and he worked hard to get things ready before our daughter had to leave to come home for break. We will definitely be recommending and going back to Grindstaff Ford for any future service needs while our daughter is in college.

Would give them 0 stars if I could. Bought a 2019 platinum f250. Noticed a chip in the window and contacted my salesman. After about 2 weeks he finally replied and said he no longer works there. Called sales manager and explained we tried to have satellite fix it, but we were told it had already been repaired. The resin was still in the chip. Sales manager basically said there is nothing they can do about it. Brought other issues to his attention and again he basically said he couldnt help us. You would expect better service after dropping over 50K on a truck. They just want your money and offer no service after the sale. I will never buy another vehicle from them again. This is my 2nd truck I bought from them.. Never again, They lost my business for good.

It’s rare that I give 5 stars to anything but these guys were great. They couldn’t get me into the car I was initially wanting, but they didn’t just stop and walk away. They put lots of effort and got me into a 2019 Equinox. Not what I was expecting, but regardless I’m happy with the service and the vehicle. Big shout out to these guys.

Body shop has some respectful people running it. However, took them forever to complete our repair after rearended. Once they called us for pickup several components had issues that they had repaired. Once we dropped it back off, they said they were unable to fix our active park assist and that the car was never equipped with it based on our package. I do not recommend using this body shop for repairs. The one thing they did well other than act professional was the actual body and paint work. Seems all other repairs were problematic though.

My experience at the Grindstaff Dealership in Elizabethton was nothing less than outstanding. I am a 59 year old that has been in sales and accounting all my life and have always been the guy that likes business relationships with smart, friendly, real people. This is why I am making Elizabethton my retirement home. I have met so many good people here; it is hard to go back to South Florida ... I have bought many of vehicles in my life and this purchase was indeed one of the best ever. I purchased a used vehicle from them and the group of people handled the transaction with ease and professionalism. When I brought my vehicle home, I noticed some issues that were concerning and was unhappy. I felt discouraged and did not want to go back and explain my concerns, but I did anyway thinking that, as with most dealerships out there. I bought a used car and that its my problem now. But that is not what happened. I went back to express my issues to Jeff the salesman, Josh the sales manager, Shaun the financial wizard and the owner Mr Grindstaff happened to be there as well. They handled my concerns as if I were family and took care of all my issues without a blink of an eye. They even provided an awesome loaner while they took care of me. What a nice experience to have on my first vehicle purchase here in Tennessee. These guys totally rock and it was fantastic service. I highly recommend this dealership due to honesty, integrity and professionalism. If they have what you need, buy it there. You wont be disappointed. Was “given” a trip for buying a new car. We have tried for over a year to book this, grindstaff supervisors, esp Carl Miller. Called to ask about this for the 1000th time, was told he was new and all he have were excuses and hung up on me. Horrible customer service. And don’t buy into the free trip. ITS A SCAM. We have been trying to get this set up since we bought the car over a year and a half ago.

7/8/20, brought it in the end of May and had all my brakes checked. They said my back needed rotors and pads and that the fronts were good and could go another 7 to 8,000 miles. I had a blender door issue 1900 miles later and wanted to get a price on that. They told me 10 hours and $1425 to do it. I had them done before at a 1/4 of that, I had asked them to put new brake pads in the front as even though it’s early I do not want to worry about rotors or calipers. Once I told them not to do the blender door then all of a sudden the pads went to having to possibly do calipers as they were a bit stiff then a bit later they went to having to do them at another $400, so what I was told of $260 turned into $600, I couldn’t believe how they were checked a bit over a month ago and I was told 7 to 8000 miles then they almost tripled it. Then all of a sudden the noise is gone and it’s blowing only cool air, very fishy. Then I noticed the ashtray had been removed in the dash and now all my usb and power ports do not work. I give the 5 star for the previous visit but this one is a 1, and my last visit there

The man who does the intake of your vehicle for body repair clearly lied to me.I played illiterate about my knowledge of body work,and he unhesitantly took the bait,and lied to my face!!!He claimed he would replace things that clearly did not get replaced.They Charged over $3,200 for one dent,along with a new bumper,and supposed new seals in the bed cover of my truck,yet the dent was the only thing that was fixed appropriately,and the buff job that started out nice,ended up cloudy on one side.Took their boots to stomp in the trim on my supposed newly replaced rear bumper.Foot prints still there over 4 months later.Will never ever take my vehicles to them again!!!Mr Grindstaff however,was kind and tried to help me with getting a new vehicle,but not so sure how well he knows about his lead man Ronnie,who takes your vehicle in for repairs,and his level of honesty.The man said he put new weather stripping on my bed cover,but did none of that.Bed cover still leaks badly.The bumper work is still very visible and obvious as to what work they did to it.No offense to Mr Grindstaff whatsoever.When i am ready and able,i will look to him to buy my next vehicle,but i am not moved to deal with the gentleman who took my truck in to be repaired.He was dishonest with me about several things regarding the repairs on my truck.Going to take my truck back to their body shop,to see if they honor the warranty on the work that did not get done,and to fix the work that was done very poorly.Should they make it right,and i can leave satisfied.I will without a doubt,come back,and edit this review to a more positive review.

I bought a new 2016 F150 XLT exactly one year ago. It was late at night when we looked at it but I noticed it has a run in the paint on the driver side door. I was assured I could make an appointment to have it fixed immediately. The rear differential also has a slow leak that I wanted re-sealed as well. I called from December 2016 through April 2017 when I finally gave up after they never returned my calls. The last call I was assured they were setting up an appointment and that they would call me back within 5 minutes. That never happened.I paid a little more and bought local in anticipation that if any work needed done I wouldnt have any problems. I was very, very wrong.The customer service and service department there is absolutely abysmal and I will not be buying from there again. 1/10, would not recommend.12/13/17 Follow up: Renee contacted me and even though the service department fumbled around again she was able to rectify the situation. Renee was great to work with and very professional.

I purchased a new Ford F-150 from the dealership and found that the box cleats, which were supposed to be included with the Platinum edition, were not with the truck. I contacted the dealership and they acknowledged the mistake and told me they would order a set. After a few weeks, no communication from the dealership, so I called and they told me they were not in yet. Another week passed with no communication, so I called again. They had the cleats and told me they would ship them to me. After a couple of weeks, no cleats, so called and the service department failed to ship them. They said they’d get them in the mail. It has been another two weeks and no box cleats. I have emailed both the sales manager I was dealing with and Steve Grindstaff, the owner of the dealership, with no response.Poor service after the sale! Glad it’s just box cleats I am dealing with.

The service at this place is awful. I took my vehicle there to have the a/c fixed and I had to take it back twice which also took two weeks just to fix an a/c compressor. Wouldnt have been so bad if I had another vehicle to drive in the meantime but I didnt. Also the communication was awful. If they had told me up front that it was going to take this long, I could have made arrangements but instead I was told that they had people on vacation and they were short handed. The vehicle was under warranty so I could have taken it elsewhere if I had known this up front. Very dissatisfied.

Ill never bring another car here to be worked on. They had my car for about two months and every time I came to get it I would drive it 15 feet down the road and it would start acting up again. Ive spent about 4000$ in total here on just brakes and motor work and its still not right. I came to pick it up for what I thought would be the last time I had to come back and the battery was dead so they jump started my car and said it sould be fine so I drove it home and parked it for the night and went to go to my dentist appointment about 1:00 today and when I went to start the car it was completely dead. So now Im back here for the 5th time getting things took care of. Never bring your car here to be worked on if you expect it to be quick. Youre better off going to some underground mechanic because obviously all the mechanics here are no better than your average mechanic.

Recently purchased a business in the area and was looking for a new place to service my vehicle. I made a appointment for my vehicle which Kelsie got me in quick. They located my problem quickly and gave me a estimate and I had my oil changed as well. The price of the issue was a bit high but that was due to the vehicle and the issue. Found out that leasing here is a bad idea. They wont listen to you when you ask for specific mileage per year on lease, tell you one payment per month, mess up and call you in to sign again for a higher payment after they sold your trade. Stark example of the bad car sales guy

Taking my business else where! I received a recall letter for the engine block heater Cord. So, I called the service department. They have to order the part that was Wed. Aug 27. I called Tues. Sept 3 was on hold for 20 mins, called back another 15, then 10 mins finally the next day wed. Sept.4th.on hold for 10 mins. They answered, oh the holiday pushed it back. So, I physically walk in wed. Sept, 11 oh yes it got here earlier this week you mean Monday! Why hasnt anyone called to let me know it was in? No, explanation just a blank look on her she face as she, silentence her personal phone next to her then her watch! Needless to say she made a appointment for next Wednesday the 18th! Haha, good thing I have patience and a sense of humor!

Grindstaff Service Manager is a liar. I have a 2015 Escape and right at 36,000 miles the front strut bearings and the rear shocks went bad. They told me they would replace everything even though the warranty had ran out. Well they lied. Nothing got fixed. I cant wait to get rid of this car. Ill never deal with these people again.

I went there to trade vehicles and I told them I didnt want to do anything until they gave me some numbers. Of course their numbers didnt add up to what my numbers were, and when I got home I got an alert that my credit had been pulled. They should do what the customer asks them to about pulling their credit. Not happy about this experience.

We bought my husbands truck at this location and had a great initial experience! Then when it came time for me to buy a vehicle we decided to try grindstaff in Johnson city. It was terrible! The made us get an estimate on the trade in and made us wait over an hour and test drive a car before they would even give us a price on the car. We asked for the price because we had a budget and did not want to waste our time or the salesman’s time if we could not afford the vehicle. This whole ordeal happened after spending 15-20 minutes walking the parking lot while the same person passed us 3 times and never asked if we needed help nor offered to get someone to help us. Then when we walked up to the building to go find someone to help us there were 3-4 employees blocking the door smoking and never asked if we needed help. So we went elsewhere to find a car. As we left the sales manager followed us out to the art to ask what he could do to put us in a car that day. Sorry buddy you should have paid more attention during the hour and a half we were there prior to us leaving. Then to top it off this week my husband got a letter saying he was a monthly winner so he called an talked to the sales manager who guaranteed that he had won either 2500 in cash, a tv, a phone, or a vacation package. So my husband drove to elizabethton from Bristol today to be told he had won the all expenses paid package to be told that it was not in fact all expenses paid we had to pay taxes on it. I’m so incredibly disappointed and I won’t return to buy another vehicle from them and I will make sure my friends and family know exactly how they treat their precious customers and potential customers. So incredibly sad that this business has gotten so big they forgot how to treat customers!

I Have bought 2 cars from this dealership and went back for a 3rd they wanted to lie bout our credit score and so we walked away after they said they couldn’t help us!!!! Went to Toyota walked out with a new tundra with 1.9 interest rate and bunch added protection!!!! Ford lost out they have gone down hill!!!BTW don’t listen to their well give u cash if we can’t approve ya that’s a lie!!!

Horrible experience from start to finish! Was contacted by Ford via letter to bring in our vehicle due to the recent Takata airbag recall. Contacted Grindstaff Ford, our nearest service location, and was told the parts werent in, but to park the car immediately due to it not being safe to drive. Spoke with a girl named Kelsea, and a free rental was given to us in the meantime. A little over a month had passed, (we even had to renew the rental after the one month mark), and we receives a message on the phone on August 16th 2018 from a man named Travis, who wed never heard from or dealt with ever before, ranting and raving and saying he had stopped payment on the free rental car they gave us on August 13th, 2018. Mind you, we still had a Ford vehicle with deadly defective airbags sitting in the driveway the day he called, as well as the rental car which has had the payment by Ford stopped on the 13th. We brought the defective vehicle to the service center within 45 minutes and then returned the rental to Enterprise when we picked the other car up the next morning. After all is said and done and we got the car back, we end up with a bill from the rental agency for $150. We tried to deal with the dealership, but all we got was called a liar and that they were not going to pay. Then we got the lie that they tried to contact us several times before payment was stopped on the rental, but couldnt reach us. I find it very odd that no one could supposedly reach us, yet we were in contact with them the whole time. Also, how did they reach us on a number they supposedly didnt have on August 16th? Isnt that pretty much impossible since I have an unlisted number? The only way to call or find an unlisted number is if you already have the number, correct? Then, when we couldnt deal with the dealership, we tried to contact Ford Customer Care. We were like surely the Ford Company itself will step up and reprimand an unethical dealer, especially over one of the largest safety recalls ever, Takata airbags. But instead, I get more lies and double-talk. One representative from Ford actually told me that the dealers are separate from the Ford Company and theres not much they can do. I was like, Arent the dealers licensed to Ford to use your name? So when does Ford step up and do whats right when you cant deal with a dealer? He actually tried to tell me that the dealerships were franchises, and not licensed. At this point I am beyond frustrated, so I look up the definition of franchise while Im on the phone with the representative, and the first few words of the first sentence is A franchise is a license issued to someone to operate a business using a common brand name, a common operating support system and involving the payment of initial and/or ongoing fees. A franchise is always a license, but a license isnt always a franchise. But, we basically got the same runaround from Ford reps that we did the dealership, and now were on the hook for $150 that I refuse to pay because we do not owe it. The car was brought in only because of a safety recall directly from Ford, and no other work was done. This business is the worst business I can honestly say Ive ever dealt with in my life. Also, the blatant lies and refusal to make anything right or operate with any morality are enough that our family will 100% never do business with Grindstaff in our area or the entire Ford company. We would be more than happy to pay any bill our family owes, but we are not being duped into paying a bill we were lied to about from the beginning. Please avoid Grindstaff dealerships and Ford Motor Company altogether. Research your car company and your dealership. Youll find quite a bit of these shady dealings from Ford and their dealerships. The car rental agency told us 3 other renters were going through the same thing with being charged for the free loaner rental. Just save the aggravation, money, time, and worry and go anywhere else that will treat you like an actual human being. Just dont put your family or finances though it.
