We could not be happier with every step of the process at The Carpet Company! From the friendly and helpful initial sales consultation, to the professional installation, to the carpet itself, we were delighted with their service. We were able to get carpet installed in less than 2 weeks, which they managed to make happen even though everyone was scheduling 6 weeks out. The carpet itself was plush and soft, even at a great price. Everyone commented on how well it was installed and how great it looked. Would recommend without hesitation.
I had worked at the Carpet Company many years ago, and found it a great place to work. Unfortunately, I left being recruited by a different type of employment, and the enticement to learn a new career path. The work environment at the Carpet Company was good, and I regret leaving. I went back a couple weeks ago, and found the professionalism of the personal was exemplary. If I were to need carpet, The Carpet Company would be my first choice.
After having some major issues ordering carpet and installation through another business in Eugene, we went to the Carpet Company for help. I had actually been visiting the store for a couple of years off and on, so I imagine they may have been surprised that I finally made a decision. We selected a carpet (from a tiny sample) that was more expensive than I originally planned, but fortunately, it turned out great. John worked with me through the entire process, came out to measure same day, ordered a larger sample, ordered the carpet, and it arrived and was installed in a very timely fashion. We are extremely happy with our purchase! I would recommend the Carpet Company for their patience, help, and awareness that it is a major purchase with anxiety on the part of customers in mind. I would be happy to allow the Carpet Company to allow a potential buyer of the same type or color of carpet to view our project.Thank you for a process and job well done!!
We went to The Carpet Company because we are wanting to redo our downstairs flooring. We found VPF that we liked at Home Depot, but really wanted to support somewhere local right now but didnt know if we could afford to. We found some GREAT options, cheaper than Home Depot that we will be purchasing as soon as we get a quote for installation. Ryan was friendly and helpful. It was a great experience. Cant wait to get the flooring put in!
A couple months ago we purchased carpet from John Herrera at The Carpet Company. We needed 3 bedrooms and a hallway carpeted. Knowing that we have heavy furniture in a couple of the rooms we asked if they would move the furniture for a fee. He said yes, and charged us $130. We cleaned the rooms out except the bed frames, mattresses, dressers and a couple of end tables. When the installer arrived (alone) we asked how he was going to move the furniture by himself? He said he was unaware of the moving issue. My wife helped him move the upstairs furniture on day one and showed him the extra heavy furniture in our room scheduled for day two. He showed up the second day alone again. We had everything ready for the new carpet and he could not move it alone, so I had to help him. I could barely walk the next day from a sore back. I call John the next day to complain about the entire situation and asked for half of the moving fee back since we did half the work. John agreed but we have yet to see our refund. I’ve contacted John twice over the past two months and he says it’s on its way. I’m convinced he is hoping we just give up. Well, I hope this $65 was worth losing a longtime customer over. Because the carpet company will never get another cent from this family and I hope this review makes others think twice about working with this organization.
So friendly and helpful. Great carpet choices.
Great service best prices!
We purchased engineered hardwood floors from Ryan Gulseth and the Team at the Carpet Company to replace our worn out carpet. The product was fantastic, the installation was both fast and perfect. I cant say enough about how wonderful this experience and our new floors are. Great value, great service, great product, great selection.
I have heard such great things about your company and was excited to get my project done. Called with a simple question after the company coming to do the other side of my duplex. The woman who answered the phone was rude, dismissive and wouldnt look up the previous job info. I called another company and they will come and measure this week. I wont bother contacting you again.
Wow! What a great company! Everyone I worked with was attentive and knowledgeable. They have a great selection and reasonable prices. I was very intrigued by some of the types of flooring I didnt even know existed, like leather! The installation is complete and it looks fantastic! I will be a return customer.
The sales folks were truly outstanding. They guided me through the entire processs and couldnt be more pleased. They have my business.
David installed commercial carpet at my office a year ago and just installed new carpet on our stairs at home, they did a very professional job, we are very pleased with their work.
After receiving a quote that was far and away the best of the bunch, I worked with John on having hardwood installed in my home. The process of choosing the flooring and scheduling the installation was seamless and easy. The crew who did the work was professional, and the job they did was outstanding. I couldnt be happier with the finished product. If you are in the market for new flooring, be sure to include The Carpet Company in your search. You wont be disappointed!
Great place. They were a couple hundred cheaper than the big box stores, great service, did a great job installing. Would definitely use them again. Shop local!
My wife and I worked with John a year ago on carpet for three bedrooms and it went so well we are having John install new carpet in our living room. Great help, prompt, and a fair price. we have used many other carpet companys in the past but they are the best bar none.
Daryl and Diana were great! We had a construction deadline and they made logistical magic happen, great price, great store, great selection of LVP. Very happy we can support local business. 5+ stars.
We dealt with someone whose title is Sales Estimator. He did that part of his job well. However the installation was where it fell apart. We were upfront from the get-go about the timeline we were dealing with because of an appointment with movers. We were told the floor would be installed in ONE day, on a Thursday and that we would receive a phone call prior to the installers showing up. The day of installation I did not hear from the Carpet Company by the afternoon. I called them. I was told that the installers would be at our house at 3:45pm. I confirmed that they would be able to complete the job that day if they were starting so late. At 3:30pm the installers called me saying they were at the house. The installers came in and looked over the kitchen. They then said that they had forgotten a tool and had to go get it!!! They left and were gone fro 40 minutes. We confirmed again that they would be able to finish the installation that day. We were told that they would be done around 9 pm.I called the Carpet Company asking about the experience of the installers considering that they had forgotten an essential tool. I was told that he had no idea why they forgot and was assured that they were experienced installers.About 3 hours later, we got a call from the installers saying that there was an issue with the dishwasher and that it would take until 2 am to finish the job and that they wanted to return the next day to finish the installation as they didnt want to work until 2 am.We had to change our appointment with the movers because of this which caused added stress and hassle. The installers said they were done Friday mid-morning. I went to look and they had left the front door to our house wide open. Not unlocked, wide open.I did not receive a call from the Carpet Company except to receive the balance due. When I explained that their customer service leaves something to be desired, I was told that they dont have time to call everyone. Our kitchen floor is installed however I will never use the Carpet Company again. We understand things come up but the Carpet Company should have pro-actively talked to the installers Thursday about whether it was realistic that they would finish the job, especially when they showed up without the necessary tools and hadnt started by 4 pm! It would have been much easier for us had we known to change the appointment with the movers the day before instead of the day of. The Carpet Company could also have called to confirm Friday that the installation had been completed in one day as promised and that we were happy with the installation. The Sales Estimator does not understand customer service.
Dont shop at The Carpet Company! I hired them to re-carpet a bedroom - a very straightforward job. The guy who came out to measure was totally incompetent and took forever. I could have done a better job myself. Then the installation was a disaster. They put tiny little pieces in places that should have been continuous - trying to save money, I suppose. One of the seams unraveled a short time later. I will never do business with them again. They got one star only because I cant rate them zero!
I guess we’ll start with the good first, the customer service in the beginning was excellent. Super great at helping find a good color carpet and excellent knowledge of the carpet qualities. They were prompt at getting someone out to measure the house, we discussed putting linoleum in by the front door and I payed for everything before Xmas in full. Now onto the not so good, I was told that I would receive a call on Monday the 31st to confirm we were having carpet put in on the 3rd. Never got a call the 31st or the 1st...called both days to find they were closed...finally called on the 2nd to find out that the guy didn’t remember discussing carpet being put in on the 3rd but even though he didn’t remember he managed to find someone to do the carpet on the 3rd. They arrived this morning (the 3rd) right on time and started putting the pad and carpet down. My husband and I both had to work so I had my grandma let the workers in.Second problem, when I got home I noticed that the linoleum was not the size we originally discussed. I had told him when measuring the house I wanted it 4 feet from the doorway to allow room to remove shoes before coming in the house. We talked about this for at least 5+ mins with my mom and grandma as witnesses. My husband called to discuss the problem and the guy who came to measure and he said he didn’t remember discussing anything like that. After my husband talked to him for a few minutes he agreed to have it fixed.Third problem, we have many animals, so we paid for the moisture barrier on the pad. Upon inspection of the pad in the 2 rooms where the carpet had not yet been tacked down, we found that in at least one part (at least a couple square feet) of the pad is missing the blue moisture barrier. Who knows how the pad looks in the rest of the rooms that have been tracked down. Tomorrow I will be going down to the store with pictures to show the guy who came out to measure originally. So far I am less than pleased with the experience. Carpet is a huge investment and and expensive investment at that. I expect the product quality and work quality to be excellent and without flaw. I am highly dissatisfied and would not recommend this company after my experience.
The estimator came out at the agreed time, was helpful and suggested products I didnt know existed. The installation was flawless and way quicker than I expected. I would definitely recommend them.
I really like working with the Carpet Company. Ryan our salesperson has been there 20 years, and helped us select the original flooring in our home, and every upgrade since. The Wilsonart that Ryan recommended for the downstairs has withstood 5 children, spills, pets, etc. etc. for 18 years and looks as good as the day it was installed. At the time, there wasnt the selection and colors there are now, so the only reason I would consider changing flooring downstairs would be to update the look. Most recently, Ryan helped us select beautiful hickory beveled laminate flooring for our master bedroom, and updated carpet for stairs and upstairs hallway (he also suggested a pet-proof pad for our dogs slobber!). Jerrys was having a sale on laminate, but between the hidden costs of buying pad, *paying for a person to come do an in-home estimate*, and the fact that the person didnt know what he was doing, led us right back to The Carpet Company and Ryan.Ryans bid was fair and competitive. He knows his products very well and can advise on the best flooring for your particular needs. The installers were on time, professional and did a beautiful job. Which is why we are repeat customers for the past 18 years. We will return to The Carpet Company when were ready to downsize to a smaller home. Keep in mind, because of their high quality and competitive prices, they are very busy and you might have to leave a voicemail for a salesperson to get back to you. Thank you Carpet Company!PS. I want to say to those who have issues about installers forgetting a tool, or not being exactly on time...please keep this in mind. If youre doing work during the summer, you are among many people getting work done, including home builders, landlords, etc. Theres lots of people moving in/out during the summer and in Eugene especially, finding services for home improvement projects can be challenging. With that being said, if youve done any kind of remodeling or updating, things come up all the time to delay a job. Thats not the contractors fault...its the nature of the business. They do their best to catch up. If you keep a flexible attitude you will be more satisfied and less stressed about the work being done in your home. Stuff happens--especially in this industry!
Friendly knowledgeable staff. Good selection of product.
Disappointing. I would under no circumstances recommend. Large selection of flooring that was nice. Price seemed okay but wasnt excellent. The man who came to measure for the carpet company said to just put the laminate wood flooring up to the front of the dishwasher and there was no need to put flooring under it. If this is done, then you can not pull out your dishwasher for maintenance unless you remove the flooring. That comment alone made me wonder how knowledgeable he was. It took a fairly large amount of time for him to schedule things with his installer. Unfortunately they do not employ installers they hire contractors. So a third party who is not liable to you comes to your home and installs the flooring. It was poorly installed. The contractor does not do anything other than what the salesperson from The Carpet Company says and does not make recommendations. Frankly, that should be part and parcel of any installation service, if its being done by experts. It was installed poorly without completing the proper prep work. Once we noticed the floor was bending in spots and the joints were breaking down after a few weeks we contacted The Carpet Company. Im not sure if its company policy or what but I was told only the sales person who did the sale could help me. It didnt matter how many people there were in the store or office I had to talk to the same individual in order to get anything resolved. It was over a MONTH before he finally contacted me back. Another week for him to take a loot at the problem. Another week to send the contractor out to fix it. And the fix was simply a bandaid that slowed down the breakdown of the floor. The material he used to shim the uneven part has compacted or broken down and now we are getting broken joints and chipped end pieces. There as a capret patch job that was included in the bid. It was very poorly done as well and the contractor kept wanting to change the time to come out and finish it. I finally said Im done. He hadnt even done half the patches and The Carpet Company did not want to refund more that a very small portion of the amount paid for the carpet patching, when not even half the patching was done. And two of the little cookie patches came out in less than three months leaving me with holes in my carpet. The floor mostly looks nice as long as youre not paying attention to the inexpert installation. Base molding that has gaps, unfinished ends and is not square, pieces of the laminate that arent clipped together tight, and so on. Over just not a professional job and very poor customer service.
Great selection of hardwood flooring
Excellent service, style and choices.
Nice people.
Never going back!
