Went in to get my 96 Bronco fully winterized and they finished it up for me that day. Upon pickup I received a text with a link to a comprehensive report on all my truck’s major systems, complete with pictures. They basically gave me a full on inspection as a new customer and now I know exactly what I need to take care of in the next 3-6 months to properly maintain my vehicle. Maria was great and called me the next day to follow up and discuss my unique tire size and the best options going into winter. Rob shot a text from his personal number just in case I had any questions or needed further assistance. Great people, great service. Simard’s is the way to go!

Even on a tight schedule, squeezed us with our mechanical problem (fuel pump defect) first thing in the morning. Really helpful to find a way to make it work. Did a great job, fast and efficient team. They, for sure, won a new customer.

The alternator blew on our Ford so we were out a vehicle in December. They scheduled us for the soonest appointment which was 2 weeks away, but called the next day to get us into a cancelled spot! I appreciated that they prioritized us. Work was done well, quick, and not overpriced. Gave us an inspection and a list of things we may need to do with the estimate of cost which was helpful for budgeting future repair. Pick up and payment was super easy too!

The services were fine. Unfortunately I had to bring my vehicle back and wait for parts that needed to be order to come in, which isnt a big deal. I am however, very displeased with the price. The local dealership quoted me at $300 which I thought was way over priced. I ended up paying just shy of $500 dollars for the specific issue, which had I known I wouldnt pay over $100 bucks for. I had thought for $900 total that all of the required services would be completed, which is my own fault for not clarifying. An itemized list of everything to be completed and how much each item cost would have prevented me from effectively throwing $500 in the trash on a completely unnecessary service. Again, the staff was courteous and service was fine. Im giving 2 stars, because its my own fault for not ensuring I knew how much the services would cost and approving them to take place. That being said I am still very displeased with the price.EDIT: I received a call from Rob (I believe it was Rob, Im not 100%), who also sent me a his personal number via text. As stated in my unedited original review I blame myself mostly for the miscommunication. However, Rob was very concerned about ensuring such miscommunication does not occur in the future. I was very impressed that Simard reached out with me to discuss the issue, rather than just let a mediocre review slide by. Rob also went as far to say we could look at potentially discounting future services. I personally will bring my vehicle back to Simard for future services, and would recommend them, on the engaged customer service, on top of the services.

Bit pricey but defiantly worth the money. Did everything I asked under my budget, no secret charges were added last minute. Drove in with problems, drove out without problems. Full detail explanations, customer service is good. All questions answered. No problem. Manager? Maria? Very helpful constantly.

They have serviced my older used car for several years. If was wrecked and has some complicated electrical issues.They are great at explaining what’s worth fixing and what isn’t and why, and to be sure it’s safe. Also a great source of info on how to buy a new car.

**UPDATE**3.2.21Robert from Simard contacted and explain everything from their side and came up with a solution to fix the issue. It was fast and put me at ease. Now, I’m confident to go to Simard because of how they handle the situation.2.26.21Had wrong diagnosis with my oil leak at Simard Gaffney rd. They inspected first to determine that there was an oil leak that was coming out from “rear seal of transmission” then for some reason when they left my vehicle at -30° and “re-inspect” it, the oil leak is now coming from oil cooler. She called my extended warranty to see if they will cover it and apparently they don’t and asked the ratings of my extended warranty if they’re any good. The service advisor I had assured me that all their mechanics are “ASE certified”. So I took my vehicle to Gene’s to replace my CV axles and didn’t mention any leak and diagnosis from Simard, and when they told me about the leak, it was just coming from oil filter housing O-ring and gaskets just need to be replace and my extended warranty covers everything. I don’t know how Simard at Gaffney come up with the leak from oil cooler but I wasn’t satisfy with the service I got there. And for some reason I’m confuse why they charge me Re-inspection fee if they misdiagnosed they first one that leak is coming from rear seal. Ever since I have been bringing my vehicle to Simard at Aeronica and the services I got from that shop was always good. I just had to come to Gaffney because it was closer. It made me skeptic now to go to Simard especially at Gaffney.

A local dealership did our diagnostics and said we needed a steering rack and pinion, that it needed to be replaced immediately. They were way to expensive so I took the estimate to Simards and Maria was awesome. She came back with a quote over $500 less expensive. I was so excited I paid the down to get the parts here. I get a call from Maria that there is nothing wrong with my rack and pinion, just a leaky hose underneath the rack and pinion. Now I get quality work, quality parts and a three year warranty. But best of all the final bill came in $2000.00 less than the dealership had quoted me. My car is running great and I have never been treated so well! Thank you Simards and especially thank you Maria!!!!!!

Awesome service! On time! And when faced with obstacles, they provided solutions that could be handled in shop and reluctantly recommended other shops when I asked. It was a great display of integrity and professionalism. Even if the front desk was busy, the shop guys were very good at stepping up to help other customers, time permitting. By far best experience in a mechanic shop in Fairbanks hands down.

My brother has been having ongoing issues with his car. Simard on Gaffney has been very good in helping him out and has always treated him very well even though he doesn’t have a lot of money. I live in the lower 48 and when I heard he was having starter and ignition issues I decided to give Simard a call to see if I could arrange to have extra work done so he could be worry free for awhile. His car needed some extensive work just to make it safe but they worked with me within my budget. I was sad that due to the extra work he was without his car for longer than he expected but then the crew got it done a few days early. They honored my wishes to keep it a surprise without telling any fibs! Needless to say I wish I could have seen his face when they started telling him all the repairs and then let him know I covered part of the expense. He was shocked and very thankful. Fast, Professional, walked me through a diagnostic they emailed me let me choose what to work on and its priority. Gave me a quote before even starting and stayed true to it. I would recommend these guys to any of my friends or family.

Used them to take winter tires off in spring and then when I returned this month to get winter tires back on they said I had the wrong tires. I provided proof that they took the winter tires off and they refused to remedy the situation saying the wrong tires came from someplace else. They lost a longtime customer and I will tell everyone I know in Fairbanks this same story. They have not reached out. But you have my number so feel free.

The staff was great, especially given the current situation with COVID-19. They spoke with me and made an appointment to have my truck looked at. I knew that I was leaking power steering fluid and explained that I worked in the medical field and had only 1 vehicle and needed to know how long I would be out my vehicle. Everything I was told, the staff held true to their word, it was great. They even gave me pictures of my inspection it was so thoughtful and helpful.

I chose Simard because it had the best reviews locally, and I can firmly say the reviews dont lie! Everyone was kind, courteous, and they got my car in the same day and out the next. We had a coolant issue, and they gave me a breakdown in the form of a very easily readable 30-point inspection that detailed what was good, what would need preventative maintenance, and what needed to be fixed right now. Our car is running beautifully, and they were so kind. Love Simard, our go-to automotive place in the future for sure! :)

These guys were so helpful and very respectful that I was not a CAR person. I thought the power steering was going out for sure but they got me right in and it was just a loose belt, they fixed it, with no huge extra charge for parts I didn’t need. I’m going back for all my repair needs, oil changes and they are putting my winter tires on next week. Awesome service!!!

Simard Automotive for the win! I have a 2015 RAV4 that has had consistent brake problems for almost a year. Despite taking it to the Toyota dealer twice, the issue was not resolved. After the Toyota dealer refused to consider a Toyota Technical Bulletin specifically for RAV4s, I called Simard Automotive. Service Advisor Justin listened to my concerns and fit me in within a few days of my call. From beginning to end, the service was friendly and professional. I have recommended Simard Automotive to all my family members, and many have moved their automotive service to Simard Automotive. Every time I go by Simard Automotive on the corner of Gillam and Airport Way, they not only perform whatever work I ask of them, but I always have to ask Is this all it costs? Today, they fixed my wheel well guard, and did not want to charge me anything for getting down under the car, getting the part, and putting it in. I had to insist on paying them. This shop is always like that. They are truly good citizens, do excellent work, and will never charge you an arm and a leg. They get you in quickly, are kind about it, and perform top notch work. I cannot say enough good things about Simard Automotive.

Took my truck there to get my transmission checked out and they did exactly that and more. They took pictures of everything that was needing repair on my truck and worth the price. Had my truck checked out all within a day. Very professional and would recommend them.

Took my truck in for them to figure out what was going on with it and what it needed. Engine making noise and no power. Ended up needing a rebuilt engine. Decided not to do this. Asked Simard’s how I could get rid of it. They suggested to call MSI Auto, that sometimes they take used autos. I did and was able to get the truck out of there and off my hands. Through all of this Simard’s was very professional and not trying to gouge me for something I did not want. Also the price to look at and give me quotes on a rebuilt and a used engine, was extremely reasonable and generous. I highly recommend this team of professionals!

Well, this week I needed tires put on my vehicle and again the crew here went above and beyond to help me out of a very tight situation. These guys are great and friendly! I was passing through town headed to the lower 48 when my truck had problems. I went to the local NAPA store who checked my engine code, and referred me to these guys. They know their stuff. They squeezed me in and completed the replacement of coils and plugs and got the truck back to me the same day. I was so thankful. I would recommend them anytime.Their 30 point safety review and report was good also.

Robert, Justin, and the whole crew were nothing but nice and informative! Throughly listened to my problems with the vehicle and fixed them in a timely manner. I especially appreciated with the 3- point inspection that photos of exactly where problems are located where taken and sent in a email as well as a hard copy when picking up the vehicle. When my initial problem keep occurring they had me back in the shop within 24 hours, not only fixed said problem but also changed out some things that were discovered during the inspection day before. These guys are awesome, came in to get the mother in laws tire plugged and they got that down in five minutes. To top that off, I went to buy a tea for my girlfriend and the owner bought it for her. Awesome customer service, and awesome service!!

If you are looking for an honest mechanic, look elsewhere. Pricing structure is outrageous, the mechanics unnecessarily expand the scope of the work, and shop has the temerity to charge the customer for a brake line their mechanic broke. At one point this may have been a reputable shop. Rest assured that this is no longer the case. Their business practices are deceptive at best, fraudulent at worst.

Had tricky problems with my car. I wasnt sure on what they were. They were able to find them and fix them. Now my car is back to being a champ.

Brought my Tacoma in for basic winterization and oil change. They also tacked a (free) 30-point inspection, and billed less than they initially quoted me at. So great to have a super friendly, trustworthy shop here in Fairbanks--cannot recommend highly enough!

Justin was a great help to me my windshield wipers were not working and I went to another mechanic shop and they told me the reason for that is my windshield was actually lifting I had absolutely no signs of my windshield lifting before going to that mechanic shop so I wasn’t really sure if I wanted to trust them and come out of pocket for a whole new windshield when it was only my windshield wipers all along so I went to Justin and he confirmed to me that my windshield is indeed NOT lifting and they definitely lied to me, it was just my windshield wipers and he fixed them and it only took a little under four minutes I was so happy and so grateful I did not have to come out of pocket for a whole new windshield because I believed some mechanic shop con artist lol!

Was there on a Saturday to get my tire fixed. Quoted me 45 minutes but would repair while I waited. They got it done in 30 and it was not expensive. Made my day.

You will find that if you disagree with Mr. Simard he will attack you on a personal level instead of responding professionally.Mr. Simard likes to talk over people and not allow them an opportunity to respond. So when you do try and speak up he calls this yelling and screaming.If I had been yelling and screaming why didnt you hang up when you accused me of raising my voice and I told you 3 separate times you had the option of hanging up. Most people hang up on you if you yell at them on the phone. Yet you didnt, even after being given the opportunity to do so on multiple occasions. This is yet another example of you trying to bully someone by accusing them of something.Another thing, you never offered me the old parts. At this point I dont know whether you actually put new parts, old parts or any parts in or not.As for doing the work for less than you estimated this was ONLY after I questioned the original exorbitant estimate. There you go again trying to make it look like you are doing me some great deal when I was the one that questioned your prices, which you actually agreed with me on and lowered the amount then.

I recently had a break job completed and after the old brake rotors did not cut/work well and the replacement cost exceeded their original estimate Simard Chevron replaced the brake rotors for free. :) Excellent service and very trustworthy. BAD AS IT GETS!! I had my sons truck towed here Sunday night. I first textd Mike the issue that needed to be done. Then called on Monday to make he understood. Well long story short what I needed done didnt get done that day. Had to pay for what they didnt need to do and parts I didnt need!! Second day they wanted to charge me 2300 to replace a small plastic T that couldve been done by anyone resembling a mechanic. They wanted to go by what a computer told them to do not the customer. Soooo very wrong. When they finally actually seen what I told them in the first place they still said they couldnt get part and so forth. They took me for 730 on theyre COMPUTER mechanics and labor that was NOT needed.These guys are oh so friendly,thats how they lure you in there.DONT GO HERE!! Unless you like giving youre money to a bunch of swindlers

Got my car winterized here and I recommend Simmards for anything automotive. There were some price increase because of unforseen obstacles because of how the car was designed, but I got a call every time and they explained to me why they needed to increase the price and left the ultimate decision to me. After everything was done, I got a full printed off report with the main technician, exactly what they did, pictures, and itemized price list. You will pay a little more at Simmards, but you are paying for quality and trust. Some discount mechanics, in my experience, are shady and you leave them with an uneasy feeling. Not with Simmards, I know they to the job right and I feel confident that my car is taken care of the right way. Definitely recommend them for any car care needs.

The owner of this particular Chevron is an honest man. He will never cheat you or lie to you. Its the only Chevron I will go to. I trust him macanic to do the job right. These guys stand by there work unlike some of the other Chevrons.

I scheduled an appointment to have a taillight repaired in my pickup, it was done within the hour and they even offered to fill my gas tank up at their station since I had brought it in right near empty. When I got my truck back, it had been vacuumed out, windows washed, fluid levels checked, tire pressure checked and they even replaced a license plate light bulb that I guess had gone out. I only payed for my taillight repair and fuel but they went above and beyond as both a mechanic shop and gas station. I will never take my truck to any other shop in Fairbanks other than one of the two Simard Automotive locations.
