Our 110 year old home needed help! We have lived in this residence for almost 43 years, but about 15 years ago we knew then that it required more than just “band-aiding.” Having a very old home presented aged problems, but nothing that this incredible team couldnt tackle and overcome with their creative, knowledgeable mission. After checking out several companies, to the rescue came Ed and Jeff, partners in J & E Installation Co. We were immediately impressed in the first in-home contact when Ed surveyed the problems and presented a potential plan of action as to what would be involved (with reasonable estimated costs) starting with windows. Once our decisions were finalized, it was definitely a challenge that they were willing to take on. There was no pressure put upon us; many innovative suggestions were offered by them.From the very beginning a team arrived taking measurements, laying out tools, and bringing a supply of energy with a focus on the job. We really witnessed the incredible teamwork that this work crew demonstrated! There was a lot of productive communication with us; a definite focus on positive customer relations was always evident! Each morning the work crew started with welcoming smiles and a sense of humor as they unloaded heavy equipment, ladders and other necessary implements. Each person demonstrated positive attitudes and were self-directed as the work progressed. At times the heat and humidity of Michigans notorious summer weather would have slowed down most workmen, but not these guys. We dont even know if they took any breaks other than a brief lunch. They were working on site until late each day.There was constant visible progress which included 2 large picture windows that faced our woods. It was obvious that they wanted to be on schedule. The flurry of detailed action was like a group of worker bees. This company was detail-oriented with perfection as a goal and pride in their workmanship until the last window was in place and trim work finished. Then our beautiful front door with the storm door arrived and the installation team completed their tasks. The clean-up was efficient and also a priority with them and so J & E had given our home new, extended life. This labor of love that they took on will always make them a part of this residence.Now nearly two decades later all of their work still looks new; the windows keep our house warm, are easy to keep clean and everything looked terrific for our homes inclusion in our towns Christmas Home Tour. J & E Installation Company owners are on a first-name basis with us and have kept an open invitation for us to stay in contact with them if we ever need their assistance. Because of their incredible work ethic and bonding, they have never forgotten us. We connect with them regularly when we stop by their displays at the Builders Shows in Novi, Michigan.We would highly recommend this fantastic business. Their work ethic is something to behold and they are terrific, inspiring role-models for others. Several years ago I was searching for a door company to replace my front door that had two small side windows next to it with a double door entry so that it would be easy to move large items when both doors were open. I sought out several quotes and every company that came out said it could not be done. Ed from J&E came out and said it is difficult but it can be done. He is a craftsman, really knows how to alter/fix doors. So for that reason mainly I chose them. They also replaced my kitchen slider with a Pella that had blinds inside the glass. They did an excellent job. Now recently I called him back to tell him that the string in my Pella blinds had broken so he came out to inspect. When he came to pickup the blinds to replace them he had noticed that my front door seal around the glass was broken as well. I never noticed until he mentioned it. So he is completely replacing all of the glass in both of my doors! He also told me he didnt like that the stain had faded some from the harsh southern exposure and would also have someone out to restain the front doors! What business does that!? I was blown away by this. Ed is one of the most ethical businessmen I have ever run across, so refreshing! He has my business for life.

After shopping around for new exterior doors, I am glad I came across J&E. Ed was awesome, the price was very competitive, and the installation went very well. They did a clean job and were very trustworthy. Highly recommended.

Ed was real nice when we went to pick out a new sliding patio door, he answered all our questions, we didn’t feel forced into buying any one particular product or any product at all (no sales pressure). The staff was professional and wearing masks during COVID. Nice showroom, displayed lots of options. Ed came to the house to measure (same day), wore his mask, in and out pretty quickly. When the door came in, they were quick to set an installation appointment. Howard came out to install the door. He asked if we wanted him to wear a mask. His work was very nicely done, professional, and he didn’t leave us a mess (in fact, he left our dining room cleaner than when he arrived). Highly recommend. This is our 2nd door from J&E and will not be our last.

Arrived on time, quoted a fair price, installed (4) quality windows. Attention to detail speaks volumes. I have wood siding. When I got quotes from other companies, they wanted to trim the new windows in vinyl. Ed, from J&E, thought better. Maybe because hes a small business owner and its easier to customize with a small business... Or maybe its because he understands the importance of curb appeal... Or maybe both. Before install day, he came out to the house, grabbed a chip of paint and took it to the paint store. After the crew finished installing, they painted the trim and it matches perfectly. Five Stars.

I quoted some of the TV guys at twice the price and was really turned off by their approach. Ed just laid out the facts and the price. I did a lot of door and window research first and already knew I was interested in Sunrise and Therma Tru due to their industry reviews and warranties. Our doors and windows were installed perfectly. One minor issue was quickly rectified with 1 phone call. These guys are great!

J&E installed a new window and an all-new front door with attached sidelites. Great communication throughout the process and I am very happy with the quality of the products and the installation.Overall cost was a very competitive and a good value as well. I worked directly with Jeff and I would certainly do business with him and J&E again.

Great windows cut down on Drafts and Noise Greatly windows seal perfectly also replaced 2 double hung with a end slider window for a better view of the lake and now it looks like Im looking threw a HD screen also was talked into a awning window behind the kitchen sink turned out great much easier to open and close now the sound resistant glass made a huge difference in my kids rooms extremely quite now next week they are installing our front door cant wait !!!!

Nice selection of doors. Very reasonably priced. Jeff was great the entire process and answered all of our questions. Two guys that came to do instal were very nice and clean with no problems. They do the trim, paint etc that needs to be done to the door and the body. They also replaced our side door with a HEAVY duty fire proof door and screen..love our new doors!

No pressure sales and friendly

Ed came out to measure and offer choices the same day we visited his office. We had odd shaped doors, so it was a custom order. Ed stayed in touch and was ahead of schedule on the installation. Upon installation, they found sub floor issues but had all the materials with them to fix the issues and continue the job. They had the trim already painted to match my old trim and also rerouted the alarms on the doors to work with the new setup. They spent a lot of time getting the trim to fit exactly right. Didnt leave even the slightest mess. Extremely professional work. Very satisfied. I will be hiring them to replace a few windows in the Fall. Probably our most positive experience with any contractor weve hired for our home.

We just had a new front door unit - including sidelights installed by J & E Installation. We had originally gone to another company for a quote and we were not happy with their price or their staff. Luckily, I did some research and found J & E Installation. The minute we walked into their store Ed greeted us and spent as much time as we needed to select the proper unit. He came out personally to our home to take measurements and assess the project and his quote was even better than the first company we went to. When the until was installed the two installers were friendly, professional and so incredibly fast and neat that I had nothing to clean up. We are extremely happy with our new door and we will continue to useJ & E for all future projects.

I initially called J&E because they have great reviews but Im very disappointed with this interaction. I took work off for an appointment at 9AM to meet Ed at our business. When no one showed up, I called the office at 9:15. The individual who answered said he would have Ed call me. When Ed called he said he had a bigger job and he was at that site. So I asked, Why didnt you call? Ed said, Im calling now. When I pointed out he was only returning my call, he said, Well, I didnt know you had to take work off, its a business so I thought someone would be there if I came later. I said, Okay, forget it - well find someone else to do the job, thanks anyway. Then Ed hung up on me. As a business owner, I understand appointments can get mixed up at times but Ed never accepted responsibility for missing or completely disregarding our appointment and disrespectfully hung up on me. Maybe he was having a bad day but this is no way to treat people.

Owned helped me out at closing time with a piece of marble and was very generous on the price. 2nd time Ive gone there and I will continue to go. Awesome place!

I just had all of my homes interior doors redone with J&E. I was originally planning to do them through Home Depot but they wouldn’t give me a final quote before starting the project/buying the doors. Ed came and did the estimate and it was very quick and easy and I ordered the doors the day of the estimate out of the catelog. Doors took about 2 months to come in but all were custom sizes as my home is from the 1920’s. They were able to complete all 7 doors in 2 days. All prehung, trimwork, painting completed with nothing left for us to do and look great! I am very happy with the results and working with the company was very easy. I would 100% use them again for my front/side outside doors in the future.

Had them install a storm door at my previous house and they recently put in a side door off my garage. The quality of the door and install is great.
