First of all, need proper workers and training. Lady standing at the counter need some basic understanding on how to treat customer while running business(if owner) or working as a job. So, You guys are not doing favor by billing customer goods, its win-win situation, customer gets goods, you get salary/profits. So, should learn how to teach customers, we are not your slave/servant (ignore while greeting/making faces and all idiotic things). Second, doesnt keep price tag on most of the item, usually charge whatever they want in the end at the billing.Overall, stores has variety of goods, but as a customer and I do have self-respect, I would better try another store as Farmington has ton of competitors.
Overall, great variety compared to other stores in the area. However, I have found it hard to navigate the chutney/jarred aisle, to me it’s a little disorganized. I have also found items that were partially opened or expired from more than a year and a half back. But great produce and frozen food section!
One of the best places in the area. The ladies working over the counter are extremely nice, helpful and polite (5extra stars for hardworking people in store). The management of the vegetables is just amazing, every vegetable is placed in the right place and in the right manner.
Perfect place to grab your cart of diwali grocery and such a supportive staff..
You will find wide variety of Indian goods and brands in the store. But it is difficult to find things because of density of goods. They do have marking boards/indicators but they are difficult to spot.Everything is reasonably priced and i found few things cheaper when compared with my neighborhood Indian store.
I can give this store 0 star if I would have an option.I did buy rangoli colors over here last week. “IT WASN’T ON THE DIWALI SALE.” While puchasing i did ask the lady on the counter if I can return this. And she mentioned that I can return this within a week. When I opened a box two of the colors were empty. And they denied to take the return as well.Very poor customer service. Not a good quality. Not recommended at all. Not a good value for money. Costly items.PS:-They are not allowing the customers to open the box to check it.If you dont want to take the returns let the customer know in advance if they are asking. PLEASE Don’t cheat people.
Not bad for a South Asian grocery store.Only feedback would be when their are more customers to checkout it would be nice to get them out of the door faster. 😊
The store was large but it was messy inside. There were quite a few products that they didnt have in stock. When we asked someone to help us find something they just told us to look around and so we ended up not finding it. The prices are high. They usually have 1 cash register open and they work really slow.
Billing discrepancies. Deliberate or Not.We have shopped plenty times here. Variety is good but it is a mess as things are all over. Tight aisles inspite of a large store. Over inventoryI bought 1 can of Mango and the cashier charged me for 6. It stood out and I have this habit of looking thru the bill. Had to get refunded and she pleaded it as a mistake. Entering quantity 6 for 1 was a hard to swallow mistake. Not impressed. Would go somewhere else a mile away rather than, go thru this maze and get the billing issues. It could be a genuine mistake and I believe it.......but look at your bills when you exit.Agree with other reviewers prices are tad bit higher than other Indian groceries.
Horrible customer service. Purchased cookies for this store two weeks back and were all defective, purchased packaged cookies last week and were defective yet again. I complained at the store for a bad item purchase, carried the defective item with me along with the receipt and the cashier directs me to speak to another guy. I tell my concern to the another staff member and he isnt ready to accept any complaint. He says he no one else has complained! I told but I am raising this complaint and he again says if there was a defect he should have received at least two more complaints. That is ridiculous, does it mean I am lying?! I tried proving him I have no interest in especially driving to the store with a false complaint!I ask him if they offer any replacements for a bad product and he said this is the way the product and I do not know how it tastes! I have been having these cookies for past few decades. really?! Such a harassing statement. He said they are no replacements! He said he will check with manufacturer later. I asked him he can trash the cookies I got for replacements, he said there is a trash can outside the store and I can trash it there myself.. I have never been treated as badly! For a few dollars, this is the way they treat their customers. Its horrible staff members and store owners who take no responsibility in their products and care least what the customer feels. Just a money-minded business.Never going there again and would recommend others to COMPLETELY STAY AWAY from this store. There are many Indian stores nearby and not takes troubles dealing with such stores with such bad customer service. I am thinking to trace the barcodes and raise complaints with Food Quality Officials, if theres a way!Rate NEGATIVE stars if thats possible!
They are always so nice. The place is lovely and my husband always feels at home with the many different foods they provide.
Most of the things are over priced, and cashiers have no clue to price a item when it is not on their scan system. It is a big store with same repeating items, but no variety what so ever. I have seen smaller stores which more variety than this. There are better stores near by, with better service.
Huge store for Indian groceries. Very wide variety of everything. I don’t think there’s anything you can’t find here. Prices are reasonable too. We read reviews that this place is not well kept. However, we came on a weekday and everything was neat and tidy and there was a guy sweeping the aisles. We would recommend shopping here.
Hi India Grocer team, I bought Samosas and veg puff today from your stores. Both were horribly burnt. And this is not first time I have experienced it. Last time sweets were not fresh and expired. I called the stores and informed first time. Since it is happening for second time I have to write a review for consumer awareness. Also food safety requires to label all food with Prepared date/ best buy date. None of ur roti follow it. I even asked the store incharge today, but she replied it is fresh and u receive it daily. But I dont know how come you rotate old stocks. Pls take care.
I am regular and observing high prices compared to other stores. Today I shopped here and i gave cash 64 bucks for a total of 64.02 and the girl asked to pay that 2 cents. I was shocked and gave additional dollar bill and while giving back my change she said she is short of 3 cents with a weird look. Come on! You forced me to pay 2 cents and saying you are short of change when it’s your time to give back mine. Being a regular I left small pennies multiple times on them when they do not have enough change to give back. Because of community growth, they are taking customers take it easy and hiking the prices and becoming rude. You lost a customer today and will lose more if you continue this.
Please manage your carts properly. The carts that are left on the main road are crossing the road and damaging vehicles in Storm.I had to pay 4700$ out of my Pocket for Your negligence.
Large store with good fresh produce and Indian groceries.
Nice place to buy all groceries.
We drive a considerable ways, passing other options to come here. Its clean, its fairly priced, and they have all the brands and options we want that are oddly hard to find.
Good place. Need lots of improvement
Absolutely HATED this place. The girl working here was extremely rude. She dumped our groceries and then proceeded to throw them in the bag. If I was her manager I would fire her instantly. Horrible customer service, filthy store. Overall the FDA should close this Petri dish of filth once and for all. I’m so annoyed by the horrible girl working here. Extremely disrespectful. Fire her.
Big enough to shop most of your necessary Indian groceries. Some sections feel to cramped up to shop especially at this pandemic time as its difficult to maintain social distance in certain areas. Other than that a great place.
Good place but very low maintenance and dusting.
Very. Good. Indian food
Good store. Almost most of indian goods and groceries available.Maybe a reminder to the cashiers to be more pleasant and helpful to the customers.
Wort place ever experienced. customer service is really bad and cost is really expensive from other stores. not recommended
Biggest Indian grocery i have ever see with large selection. Just one correction to one item they are selling. Ajinomoto (MSG) is Japanese product and Japanese word, so their labeling Chinese Salt is incorrect.
Brought puja plates. Very big Indian store
The coffee powders were expired long back but when we informed them, the cashier was like its not my job to do. She was very rude to us. Never had this experience in any other indian grocery shop.
Pros: Best collection of Indian Groceries at fair Prices.Helpful StaffCons: 1. Store always have Foul Smell.2. Dirtiest Store in Michigan. Please invest in some cleanliness.3. Entire place is like a warehouse where stuff is dumped.4. At least 2 times they have sold me desserts past expiry date.
Only problem is prices are too high, but you can find most of the desi stuff here. Service is great.
I have shopped this store for a while now. I accidentally bought a couple of duplicate spices three months back. When I went to return, I was told they are not accepting returns due to COVID and will do once things normalize which is still understandable (even though all stores were accepting returns). I went back today (after Governor lifted her orders), the store Manager refused to listen to me, let alone doing the returns, started telling me they arent doing returns due to COVID, and when i reminded of Governors orders, he knew he had to make up something else so started to give reasons that they need a receipt (I was carrying the card I used), and also that they accept returns within a 3 day window, and then asked for my credit card statement!!I overlooked the hygiene, prices and the front desk rude, unwelcoming attitude of the staff there all these years I shopped at India Grocers. But here, the store clearly does NOT value and care for its customers and makes you feel like garbage with their attitude. I am not stepping again into this store. There are plenty of Indian stores around like Sai Grocers, Patel Brothers who would value my business and where I will henceforth give my $$.
Good store! Competitive price. It would have been better if they have some arrangements for the get-in shoppers to get clean cart or at least basket back at the entrance.
Only they put specific brands like Rimpy, so customers are forced to by that stuff
One stop shop for Indian groceries. Probably the best one in the area
This place is the BEST! they have such a great variety of everything. Ive never had to ask if they have something because ... they always have it! Im also really stoked that they have a bunch of Ayurvedic herbs, would love to see that section expand. Ive been going to this location since they moved here and will continue to for as long as Im in the area 🙌
Great place for Indian grocery. Sardarji and all other staff are very helpful and polite. You can find almost everything related to Indian groceries. If you cannot find anything you can always ask the staff and they can either get it or tell you when it will be in stock. At time you may find bugs in rice/lentil item but it is beyond anyone control. You can always reach out to them over phone or take it back and they will replace or refund you.
Good selection of Asian groceries.. Reasonable prices.
We got fresh indian vegetables with affordable price...
I am not going to return to this place and rather go to Patel Brothers. Here are few reasons based upon my recent vists. This place lacks cleanliness as every isle has some items usually scattered on the floor, both Flour and Dal packets were leaking, I only see one person around to ask where to find a product, the vegetables didnt seem fresh compared to Patel (Onions had fungus, Okra was thick ones instead of what I get in Patel).
Its a very big Indian grocery shop, one stop for all your requirements.. Situated in Farmington hills opposite to Independence green apartments. Its quite a newly opened store, it wasnt there previous year. We visited this place on 23 December 2018, theres a free parking place, all items are very neatly arranged in isles, you get all types of vegetables, groceries, fruits, dosa, idli batter, greens, namkeens, biscuits, pickles, sweets, dry fruits, oils, rice, dhals, all kinds of cereals, pulses, n flours, you name it, you get it, keep your list ready n shop...Happy shopping to you all.
Ill change stars once the sweets are fresh and only quality ingredients are used. If you will charge 10 dollars per lb then sell fresh sweets.
Too good, lot of options.
Big one stop shop for indian groceries and veggies
Food products are fine but they lack in managing inventory. Not all products are fresh and properly labeled/placed in the store.
Dear Sardarji (Owner-Indian Growser-48335)-,People are very emotional while buying worship items specially idols. I had a very bad experience as a customer by buying Ganesha idol from your shop. Before buying I asked several times whether it is made up of mud or plaster of paris and every time when I asked you said it is made of mud and it will easily dissolved into water. While buying I had a doubt but I trust on your words. We are totally disappointed with this. Please don’t be a business man for some items at least. People are not asking free of cost anything from you. You should consider emotions of your customers. They trust on you and buy items from you. Please make sure that at least in such cases. Thanks
Good so far. Pricey.
I would give even negative ratings if I could. They sell exceptionally overpriced items and even sold fake firecrackers during Diwali. None of the fireworks were bursting and when cracked open one of the fireworks from bottom turns out there was no gun powder and the firework was filled with decorative papers and cardboards inside. This place is a total rip off. Had the worst customer service experience trying to get our money refunded back for the fireworks.
I suppose this is one of the biggest Indian Grocery store in Michigan. Its a one stop shop for a variety of Indian products - fresh vegetables, frozen varieties, deserts, utensils, Puja material, Ayurvedic medicines, carrom board etc. Seasonal products during festive times too are available. One drawback is that some consumables do not have either manufacturing or expiry date mentioned on it which makes it difficult to buy.
Okay. This is a treasure trove.Choices are restricted by your mind and your wallet.Really great store.
The best indian grocery.
This is a great Indian/South Asian grocery store! They have everything you would need for traditional Indian cooking, from spices, beans, fresh produce, dairy products, to even prepared foods and sweets. Even if youre not Indian youll definitely find some great produce and groceries here! You can also find some cooking utensils and pots/pans including pressure cookers. Most of the times I have been here, the store is very well organized and kept clean so it is very easy to find what you need. There arent too many parking spots by the entrance so when its busy you might have to park in the back, but its not too far of a walk.
Nice drinks, good options,
I got GRB ghee on 7th Dec and used it the very next day and the ghee texture was not appetizing. I later checked the date and it said Best Before Apr 2019*. We reached the store the very same weekend and checked the other ghee bottels . All of it had the expire date as Apr 2019. When we took them all together to the check out counter, all we heard from them was we will check and the check out lady was all cool continuing her work.We later reached manager and he was like we were just gonna remove them allLol. It took them 1 full week to remove them all.We go to this place thinking they have good product, we were totally disappointed by them. They offered to return the $3 for the ghee, all we asked is to clean the expired products and have a regular check.I suggest people who shop here to check the expire date and then get them.Jan 7th 2021Again and Again !!This is the second time I am experiencing this with India Grocers. Expired Product .I purchased Saffron on Jan 6th 2021 and guess what the product says PACKING 2017 BEST BEFORE END 2020. do you guys even check on your products ?Last time inspite of the WOW reaction for reporting the expired product, we returned and didnt even get the amount back .. and now we are done.I have reported this issue and you guys seriously have to look into the products that you are selling on a very serious note .
Was looking for chutney, being American i was lost and I asked a worker. He was so nice and kind took me right where I needed to be. A great authentic place for sure.
Dont go here unless you wanna buy bulk at cheap quality. The item was stinking when I opened package. I returned with no consumption. But it was a week so i didn’t have receipt and they don’t care if it rotten also unless you bring receipt.
Beware !! They sell old and expired products on diwali sale... dont go by the discount and end up in sick daysNote: I did return the products they werent shocked to see the expired products and the supervisor wasnt sorry, it seems they have had a lot of experience with expired productsHope you guys look into the details on what your buying and eating from Indian grocersHappy safe and healthy diwali to all!!
Value for money.Organized and friendly staff.Love my shopping at India Grocers.
Nice collection of Indian groceries
I was happy to have found organic brown basmati rice, only to discover there were bugs in the bag. I lost count ...15 or 20 bugs I had to catch by hand because theyre alive and walking around! It took more than an hour to get rid of those bugs. I wont buy it anymore sadly, and I need to find a different brand than Deer.
Great groceries collection around
It’s used to be a good Indian store but lately it’s messy & dirty all the time. The outside has masks & gloves & litter all over. The sweets were open. It’s a health risk especially during these times. They need to focus on cleanliness.
It has great variety of Indian flavors, I used to stay on Dearborn before moving to farmington and was shopping earlier from Patel Brothers and was not aware about this store but when I got to know about it I felt I should have come here in last two years, it is far superior than Patel Brothers. Again I am reiterating those who want to buy cheap Indian food you should always choose this over Patel Brothers
Too much pricy but go to India grocery place in the surrounding area as they pretty much have everything.
Great place to find all Indian grocery. One star less because This people are always restocking no matter what day it is. Thats good but schedule this at non operational hours.
They have almost everything for household kitchen, but vegetables are not great over weekend, Try Tuesday and Thursday they get fresh stock and prices will be little cheaper
Beware! Lays Kurkure and other snacks were on sale for 99 cents so I grabbed couple of those. I started eating them and realized they tasted stale. I noticed there’s a huge sticker pasted on top of the manufactured date and batch no. It took me some time to tear through that label but finally after I took it out I noticed there was neither date not batch number to identify how old they are. They may be years old for all we know.Make sure you check manufactured date before buying stuff.
Cool place1 stop destinations for indiansNone of products have price tags
You can get all sort of Indian groceries at this place. Prices are ok. There is ample amount of car parking space. The place is overly crowded and so please make sure to spend your time wisely. The way the groceries are arranged will make you want to trod nicely lest you want to push some of the stuff down. The staff courtesy was mixed. The ones in the pay counter looked like they were bored with their life and the ones handling the stuff and moving things around were too busy moving things. Overall the experience was good. Found my stuff quickly. One great thing is there is a separate sweet section.
Good choice.
Found insects in pulses.Had a bad experience twice here.many items are beyond expiry date or nearing expiry date. vegetables also not fresh.must improve on the quality.
Very poor customer service. Not enough checkouts open and nearly always long waiting times. Servers on checkouts are all rude and abrupt. No eye contact. No smiling or speaking. Food choices are good on dry foods. Mostly good on fresh produce though sometimes not so fresh. Car park is large and the store layout is good. Cashiers sometimes overcharge and never apologies for mistakes when pointed out. They probably do good business due to lack of serious competition in Michigan of large Indian grocery stores
If not Indian be resolute. Not easy to navigate with unfamiliarity. Know what youre doing there, what to buy, and how to use it. Sorry to say that I didnt have a clue.Follow up to reply: No one seemed to be either very helpful or friendly. And I definitely looked like a fish out of water. I left without buying a thing and i walked every single aisle looking at everything. The only clear direction I got was to not only wear a mask, but the provided gloves, as well. And where to leave my cart, etc. I learned a lot there about disease spread precautions, lol.Next time I will do some research first about Indian cuisine.
Staff is always super friendly and I like how clean the store is no matter what time of the day I come in.
They have got almost everything similar to Patel brothers but not organized well. You need to walk through all the lanes to find what you looking for. Other than that, good store and decent pricing.
The store is big and you get a lot of the items you need but my experience has been that they will try to sell off expired items by conveniently placing the price tag right over where the expiration date is mentioned. The brand Rimpys’ I’ve found to almost always carry items that are a little outdated, tastes funky). The aisles are always blocked by staff & their stocking carts. The only consolation is that when the produce section has fresh stock you can walk out with a cart load of good vegetables and you won’t have broken your bank account for it!
This store is unique. They have things that you cant find anywhere else. Their groceries are quality. Awesome!!
Worst customer experience I have ever seen in any Indian store. The grocery selection isnt any better than other nearby stores but they have lot of space and thats the only reason it looks better. But will I go again just because it looks neat? Absolutely not! This store is new but I already see lot of old stock...
Do not buy Almonds or any nuts from this store. All they sell is a third grade quality. They will not accept returns citing Covid-19.
I think this is my second review. After my first review, the store has gotten worse in terms of managing the goods on the shop floor. The whole store is a mess, huge pallets are lying on the floor, not enough space to walk. Flat boxes are lying all around the store in isles. Its getting worse and worse. I am pretty sure they are violating some safety regulations.I still keep going to the store because of convenience, but I guess I need to look for an alternative.
Poor service at the counter. Customers felt helpless standing in line waiting to get items billed because there was only one person billing. This store needs to get their resource together and provide better service.
Stale vegetables, incredibly rude staff.
Best Indian Grocery shopping in Michigan
This place is a food dump house, no arrangement, no order, things are all around. I spent over 30 minutes just searching for few stuffs. The payment counters are slow.I dont have time searching around and not able to find out the things I want.
Neat and tidy. Sometimes, few items are not completely stocked up.
I don’t have a good experience shopping at this place. Some of the items purchased were past expiration date. I have had this experience at least twice.I called up the shop upon noticing this after reaching home. They mentioned that they are unable to process a refund without taking the receipt and item in person to the shop.I hope they do their due diligence in the future to remove expired items from the shelves. It certainly not on to the customers to check each item for expiration date.I don’t live very close from the shop so making a trip back to return the items didn’t make any economic sense. My money was wasted both the times.
I have been to this store atleast 5 times since its Grand opening for about a year at this point and refrained from writing a review earlier to give them the benefit of a newly opened business. This place is in dire need of organization, theres barely any place to move around with your cart due to the boxes thrown everywhere. Also, need better organizing their products in one region, it feels like Im circling the store to find 2 spices/types of lentils. Customer service ranges from rude response to non friendly grumpy faces.2 stars for competitive prices, quality of products.
Wide variety, little pricey as compared to others, big shopping space, conveniently located
All Indian groceries. You should get any thing you need. Slightly expensive.
Worst qualityThey have no respectLooks like c class shop in IndiaRates are low because of worst quality
Big store and lot of options.
