We paid in full for carpet and install on May 30th. At this time, we were informed it would take 3.5 weeks for it to be installed. It took them 26 days to schedule for an install, which they failed to do. Since then, theyve scheduled us 3 additional dates for install, all of which they failed to do so. In addition, they provided with a 100% commitment to install on August 7th. Since then, they have prioritized commercial business over our installation, in addition to other retail customers. It has now been 66 days since weve paid in full and they have no plan to install the carpet. We need to be considered as a priority and the carpet needs to be installed asap. Theyve taken our money and services have not been rendered.

I am overwhelmed with happiness because of the job they did for me. The quality of the carpet, and the installers, are second to none. I wholeheartedly recommend them for any flooring project you are anticipating now or in the future. My salesman, Mark, was an excellent person to work with. They ROCK!!

Avoid this place!!!Paid for flooring AND delivery over a month ago, but still not delivered. I have called three times and each time they have promised to call back with information on delivery - still waiting for those calls! Since I couldnt get any callbacks, I went to the store on two separate occasions. They seem to find it amusing that we still dont have the flooring and accept no responsibility for the issue. I asked about picking it up ourselves but they told me I would have to bring someone to load it as no one at the store could help! I feel this establishment has been dishonest and disrespectful. I certainly plan to caution friends and acquaintances about their shoddy business practices.Does not deserve the one star but would not post without it.

Called to ask a simple question about outdoor carpet and the person whom answered the was a TRUE AS%HOLE. The only words he knew how to speak where NO, NO and NO. Well, this will be a business I never use nor recommend to anyone. Simple customer services and politeness is truly hard to find in the service industry.

I would have given zero stars but it wouldn’t let me! RUN, RUN, RUN from these people!!! I spent $8000 on new carpet 6 years ago. We bought the upgraded carpet and pad with the twenty year warranty. Within 8 months the carpet looked terrible and has changed color! We don’t wear shoes in the house. I called Stanley steamer out and the cleaner was shocked to hear the carpet was not even a year old. He said it was the worst color change he had ever seen. We tried to do multiple warranty claims but were denied every time and the store would do NOTHING. The inspector came out and one of the things he did was pour liquid on the floor and then sop it up and sent that in. It came back with chemical residue! Uh... not on my carpet! We even use a steam cleaner to do the tile with no chemicals! But apparently that is why they denied our claim! The carpet brand is Shaw Carpet.The installers also chipped our brand new tile with their hammers. They did come back out and replace a few tiles but not all of them and when we complained about that and wanted the rest of the chipped tiles that were a week old replaced they told us too bad!So today, we replaced the carpet in the main room with plank (from another company) and the installer found and showed us multiple blades hidden underneath our carpet. He KNEW who installed our carpet and that it came from city carpet because apparently this is a normal practice with them! Razor blades under the carpet!!! I have a small child, seriously??!! They are certainly not done hearing from me! They put my child in danger!

Our experience was the best I think the community of competitors has to offer. We compared overall costs including; carpet per sq. Ft., best padding offered (waterproof/pet proof/comfort), install price, removal/hall away and estimate. We checked Lowe’s, Home Depot, Menards, Kaleidoscope and Carpet One. While other locations offered luxurious options (at luxurious prices), we chose the highest pile Carpet One offered and are so incredibly pleased! We live on a Golf Coarse and feel it matches the appeal of our neighborhood without giving away its affordable costs. By far lowest overall costs In Fort Wayne. Would highly recommend.We went in Thursday, they installed Friday. Mark in sales was laid back and knowledgeable. I unfortunately didn’t catch the names of the 2 men that installed, however, they were trustworthy, straight to the point, and very efficient.We have about 2000 sq ft left of carpet/flooring left to install and will for sure be loyal customers to Carpet One.I felt my recommendation was needed because of all the terrible reviews we read - we almost didn’t even stop in! So glad we stopped in to see for ourselves. Very pleased. Don’t be misled. At the very least stop in for a visit to decide for yourself, your wallet will thank you.Side note: we’re both healthcare workers (not at all endorsers for this company, just happy customers)

We had three bedrooms and a hallway done, this was are second time buying carpet from them, the last time we were told by the salesmen he would throw in the pad and we both thanked him, paid for carpet to be installed, the two guys that installed spoke very little English, difficult to communicate with them, you can tell when you walk on the carpet that the pad had been pieced together under carpet because it has dips in it, carpet is not level, and when we got the bill we were charged for pad, we called the salesperson we did business with and he said he did tell us he would throw in the pad. We both know what we were told, so with this being said I do not recommend doing business with this company..

Unbelievable! We rip out our carpet for installation and for 7 days they blow us off. Every time you call them they tell you that they have no idea when the carpet will be installed. WHAT? This is the worst company I’ve ever done business with!!!

We were referred to Scott at City Carpet to purchase and have installed all new carpeting on our stairway and entire 2nd floor of our home. We originally were going to have H-Depot do it and paid for a measurement and received a quote. Problem there was it would be 6 weeks before install. When we met with Scott at City Carpeting, his quote for a similar quality carpet beat H-D by 10% and Citywas able to have it installed in less than half of the wait time. Also their installers did an amazing job in every room, closet and the stairway.

I was very happy with the price and quality of carpet I purchased. Jeff, the salesperson was very experienced and helpful. He arrived on time to my house to measure and even called before he arrived to make sure. The two installers were very timely too. They were experienced and professional. It took them less time to install than what was blocked out.

BUYER BEWARE! I can not even start to discuss how important it is for people to be careful working with this company. I had new carpet placed in a large portion of my home. I scheduled it over 4 weeks ahead of time (paying cash upfront for the entire job), as we were on a schedule for selling and moving.The day of service, they cancelled my installation with no real explanation or heads up. They then took over 3 days to even get my carpet installed. They even “forgot” to complete an entire section of the carpet as they “couldn’t find the carpet” for that area. While calling to get an explanation and timeframe for installation, the staff were INCREDIBLY rude and unprofessional.The installation was a nightmare. After paying an extra $50 per room for my furniture to be moved, much of the furniture and items were never put back. My personal items were randomly tossed throughout my house and damage was noted on walls, window sills, window treatments, and doors. The installation team also broke one of my beds. I felt victimized in my own home.After attempting to discuss this with personnel in the store, instead of offering a partial refund or even apology, the only resolution was to give me $200 in store credit. I politely declined as I have no intention of ever working with this company in the future.There are a variety of carpet stores with professional installers within this city. I HIGHLY recommend looking elsewhere the prevent this type of headache within your life.

Salesman was decent. The place doesnt communicate well. for the install they gave me a time frame....which was way off. Almost called and told them i wanted back my $2000. They showed up an hour later then i was told. Then i needed someone to come back out...a month later to assist in a board that wont stay put and again, I was told a time... I called when no one showed by said time... was told 3 different things. Not recommendingThe prices are good, but service, not so much. Will be going some where else in the future

We bought carpet and had it installed. The installation jod was very poorly done. We have call the store 4 times and was told they would be out on a certain day and time. They never showed up to correct the problems with the installation. Everything we have called we was given an excuse and told they will be out on this day and time. Nope never happened. We still have the same problems of the installation from day on. It has been 7 weeks now trying to get them outhere to correct the installation problems. Same your time and money, go elsewhere.

The selling process was good but they failed about the installation process. I bought my carpet and paid the whole amount and they promised me that my carpets will be installed on Tuesday. They did not do it and did not informed me about late instalaltion. I asked on Wednesday again that when you will install them and their answer is we are sorry, we can not reach to our installer, he is not answering his phone And getting this answer from them was after my 4th call to the store.

I have been given false information from them multiple times.. Telling me the carpet should be here by a certain day (three times) and then someone else saying it has not even shipped on the day of the install 2 weeks later! Its been 3 weeks and still has not been installed. Ive called and left messages and my calls are not being returned. Definitely would not recommend, especially if you want the carpet in a timely or professional manner.

Came back to the store and called weekly for 3 weeks to have the right transition strip put in on our floor. Promises for certain days and nobody showed. I give up. Terrible customer service. Kaleidoscope will get the rest of our business for our upcoming projects.

Mark our salesman was great. He helped us with the carpet in our price range. He listened to us and our needs. He showed us a great selection of quality carpet and suggested one that was stain proof. We ordered it and pad with installation. A couple days later he came to the house and measured it. He scheduled installation when we needed it. Great experience.

I love my carpet! 1st meeting with salesman was good. I gave half money down up front. I did advise I wanted particular installers used, if I was going to use City Carpet Outlet. 1st day wrong installers showed up and I had to send them away. I then called salesman to let him know and he said I had to wait another day then. I did wait and next day correct installers, father and son team from Huntington, showed up.They did one helll of a job! I just loved them.i do believe that City Carpet Discount needs to improve on their customer service by being professional and courteous (like page 2 of their Installation Agreement states they are. It only takes 5 minutes to make a phone call!I also believe they should do a follow up call when job is finished.Come on City Carpet Outlet if you want to improve your ratings, listen to your customers!Sandi R.

Sales guy was abrasive and rude. Acted like he didn’t care about customer service at all. After repeatedly telling him where I wanted carpet and him writing it down, mysteriously the stairs didn’t make it to the invoice so it didn’t get installed in one of my vacant homes. Once I realized and called him of course it was all my fault so I got to pull even more money out of my pocket. I was told it would be another week and it ended up being 3!!!! We had to list the house without the new carpet on the stairs because with this new mystery they couldn’t come up with enough carpet to do a set of stairs all of sudden. When I spoke to him on how disappointed I was he couldn’t have cared less. Well guess what, I just put in a $15,000 carpet order to recarpet a very large home and guess who did NOT get my business??? Yep, you guessed it, City Carpet Outlet. I won’t go back and I tell others in my business all the time to not even bother with these guys. Not worth the risk!!

This company has TERRIBLE customer service. Their installers walked on the newly installed carpet with shoes on leaving stains. The store and my salesman Mark both knew I wasnt happy. They charged my card the balance of the bill without checking with me to see if the issue was resolved. When I confronted Mark about it he tells me everyone makes mistakes very sorry in the end great quality carpet with over 600. in savings. It was never anything more than money to them. They dont care about the customer. Save yourself the hassle and use someone else.

Save your self a LOT of grief and go somewhere else. They give you an estimate, then raise the price when the installers arrive. Installers were 2 days late to arrive and 4 days late on completion of the job, and our entire move was scheduled around their installation. We had to find another place to stay. Asked (then demanded) to speak to a manager 3 TIMES and never got a response. Then, they billed the balance of the job on our credit card without us signing off. Worst service of any business Ive ever dealt with in my lifetime. BBB complaint filed .

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! The very worst service Ive ever had. Ordered carpet and vinyl planking and were told us it would be installed on Aug 5th. The planks were installed and everything was going great called about carpet and then the excuses started. Flat tires,your next,installer sick,van motor blew up ugggg. Carpet finally got put in today Aug 14th! Horrible horrible. STAY AWAY IM TELLING YOU!

This place is a joke. Had good experience when we went in to look and when we purchased. Unfortunately we were suppose to get it installed today (4/17) and was confirmed last night (even the guy we dealt with knew we needed it done today or it would be a while before we could reschedule) so we got everything except 3 things put of the rooms and floor prep to get a call that the installer called in sick and asked if they could reschedule. I told them no that we need it done today because we had it all ready and to tight of schedule for the next few weeks. He said he would call back after talking to manager. Waited 45 minutes no call so I called back was rudely told they couldnt do anything about it and could not come. Asked to speak to manager was told manager was unavailable and to call the person who wrote the order.Needless to say we went in demanded our money back so we could go elsewhere and they threatened to call the cops because we refused to leave with out it or speaking to a manager. Finally got ok from manager to get money back. He came in signed the check handed it to us with no apology or seeing how to rectify the situation. Just a quiet thank you and turned and walked away.Will not refer this place to my worse enemy. If I could have gave a 0 I would have.

We were very disappointed with City Carpet. We were given a quote for carpet and bathroom tile and told both would be installed on a Friday. We paid up front, I removed the pedestal sink (something I was told I would have to do myself), cleared the room, and waited at home on Friday, my day off, for the installers. Then I received a phone call asking me if the salesperson had told me that Friday might not work for the tile. Um, no. Ultimately, I was told that the installers were on a job all day and could not come Friday, and that it would have to wait until Tuesday. We were understandably upset at having to spend a very long weekend without a sink, with bathroom supplies stacked in the bedroom, and having to ask a relative to be in the house on Tuesday while we both went to work. But then they did not call or come on Tuesday, either. Now it is Wednesday, no tile has been installed, we were never contacted by City Carpet, but actually had to call them for any information they could give us on a job that was prepaid and is now five days late. We asked for and received a full refund, but without so much as an Im sorry. Needless to say, we are still up a creek and will not be using City Carpet in the future.

The worst experience ever when dealing with a flooring store. Incompetent sales and management, unprofessional and rude. Manager is never available. Installation was an even worse experience. A one day job took three days to complete, six and a half hours late on first day without notification, forty-five minutes or more late next two days. Damage to brand new drywall, mess and clutter left behind. This place isnt worth the money that you save. Will cost you just as much as the other places when all is said and done.

My wife and I had a room Re-carpeted it was a bedroom. We used Carpet City outlet thinking that we would give them a try. We are in the midst of redoing our entire house.Sadly our experience was less than one. The men arrived to install the carpet with no identifying clothing and no identifying names on the trucks. My wife didnt know if they were from Carpet City or not. She was uncomfortable.I came home to see what was going on. The men carried the carpet upstairs scratching the wall in the Woodwork. They did not clean up after themselves when they left. They did not tell me that they had scratch the woodwork. And they left a lump in the carpet.When I received a call from Carpet City outlet as to my experience. I told them that the installers were ridiculous and I wasnt even sure that they were legitimately employed by Carpet City Outlet.I was told that a manager wanted me to send pictures of the damage to him. It was done but I have not received any comments or any statements from Carpet City Outlet. I will never use them again.

Mike in sales was decent and the flooring itself is good product. But holy sh the rest of the experience was a nightmare. Dont let the 0 interest finance seduce you, me and the rest of the reviewers apparently had the same experience.Worst installers I could imagine, the tilers were a man and wife and they argued the whole time, messed up grout work, forgot to install the kick board which it took multiple calls to get him to come back and put it in, left the corner round brads laying all over the floors, the old brads all over the floor of my garage where they were throwing the trash. Whole thing was a joke. I still have spots where I need to fix and patch them myself.I have more rooms to be done and wont even consider giving them another shot at my business.

Then got a phone call a few days later saying they made a mistake on install quote and it was going to cost me an additional $400. I had to order the flooring and needed it, so obviously they arent going to install it you dont pay. I agreed but was annoyed. Thats a large mistake to make.At the end of all this, it came down to got laughed in the face by two employees when I went into the store after the install for making a statement. I was in shock and already stressed about the whole situation. I told them when a customer is upset last thing you do is laugh. They were quick to apologize. That was low and a disrespectful. Why any business would allow their employees to treat a customer like that is shocking?!I asked for a manager for 4 days to speak to. Never could. Somehow this is the only business Ive ever ran into that doesnt have a manager available to speak with ever and the employees dont even know when their own manager will be in the store.Scheduled flooring to be put in a week prior. They knew the night before their other job wouldnt be finished. They told me this. They then wasted my time waiting around for them the day of install to call and cancel.Rescheduled for next day. Wait around all day again. 530pm comes, still no installers. They ran out of time and had to reschedule for the next day. By the 3rd day, I finally had the flooring installed. Install guys were very nice, but they admitted that this company doesnt inform customers well of waiting times and just book installs, where other places will be honest and tell you how far they are booked out. ***Even one of the employees I spoke with on the phone said they were around others at the moment and couldnt speak aloud, but agreed it is a problem.***Baseboards, some were broke and no caulking was done once job was finished. Was explained this is common practice to not caulk. Funny, then why did the builders do it and why did a contractor I hired years ago to do a build do it? Could have better finishing standards in my opinion.Will be worth your time to pay a little more money and go elsewhere for you sanity...unless you have unlimited time to wait around on people..as in days.. and dont mind paying extra for large miscalculations.I will never be back or recommend them to anyone.

Went in to buy carpet. was talking to a salesman. he proceeded to tell me the cost for carpet and then the extra fees for removal, etc. I asked him to tell me why I should buy from him instead of buying from retailer just down the street. Your a salesman I said. Sell me on this carpet. Tell my why I should buy here? He abruptly said well thats your choice and left me standing alone. So I left and spent my $3000 elsewhere. wow, what a way to operate.

Store hours posted on Google and on their door say theyre open until 8pm. Here I am sitting in their parking lot 1 hour before their posted closing time and all of their doors are locked. Ill pass because of service. Ill pay someone else non wholesale prices for better service.

My wife and I purchased Shaw carpet from City Carpet and were very please with non-pressure sales, great price and excellent installation which was done by a father & son from Huntington who work almost exclusively for City Carpet - Thanks!

I know there are many many people out there who are very happy with the installation of their products. Have a bad experience and you will tell everyone, have a good experience and since your not stressed and venting you maybe tell a few.

I would recommend buying your tile or carpet there, if the style and price is what you are looking for, but going somewhere else for the installation.

The actual installation of the laminate floor was ok, except for hand prints and marks on the walls every where. The price was fair.My problem was with their scheduling. The first day they were 2 hours late. The second day they were 4 hours late. Now its a week later and they were supposed to be here between 9 and 11 to install some trim and nothing.I wont use them again.

I am a residential and commercial general contractor and they do all of my flooring. Always a great job and a fair price!

Hmm what went right....the original consultation was fine...thats itThey installed our entire upstairs with two different shades of carpet. When my husband pointed, out the installer said once we vacuumed we wouldnt be able to tell. It then took weeks and many phone calls to get a manager out to see the difference. He showed up late wearing blue jeans with the ass ripped out. I walked up the stairs behind him staring at his under wear. He then laughed when we told him what the installer said.We had to take more time off work when the correct carpet was laid. And we had to put off moving in for weeks. Never once offered a discount and when we went in to talk to a manager the salemen heard what happened and were laughing about it. They didnt seem to understand why we didnt think it was funny.My husband then called the manager and explained that we deserved a discount because of all the time away from work he had to take and she had the gall to ask him how much he earned.After finally getting a miniscule discount the carpet was even installed correctly. You can see seems in every room. In the doorways the pad is missing and weve stepped on the nail stip on the stairs several times.Dont go here. They treated us so unprofessionally and the work they did was awful. So disappointed with the whole experience.

Mark is friendly. Pricing was competitive, but ultimately we chose not to use them.

Im dumbfounded by the horrific service I have received from this company. Tile for my bathroom and hall has been ongoing for 5 days and is still unfinished. I have received cancelation after cancelation for them to return to complete. This is not a reputable company to work with in my opinion.
