Very lovely! This place has really blossomed. The development of the garden has been very well thought out. It is inviting and interesting. The changing props and themes make each visit feel fresh and new.I love all the ways they have incorporated tactile activities, it certainly keeps the kids engaged. I appreciate the coffee house and the darling outdoor patio dinning area.
Very beautiful place. Someone was having a wedding there on the day we visited. It was 10 dollars and some change for two adults and there were no butterflies. I seem to remember there being butterflies last time I was there but there were none which is a tad unfortunate. Lots of pretty plants though. And they have some Koi fish in there that are massive. Literally wider than my torso. I dont know how they got so big but its impressive to say the least.10/10Very soothing atmosphere and lots of cool species of plants to look at and pet. This place would be an excellent first date idea.
Beautiful Exhibit. Gives me inspiration for exactly how I want my house to be; overrun with plants. Prices are good, most likely due to the fact that their botanical gardens are not large. I wish there could have been more to see, but what was there was lovely. Employees were all very polite and friendly!
I had a great time..Such a beautiful and wide variety of plants .. Definitely a Peaceful and Serene Place. I plan on taking another trip soon just to relax and get a peace of mind the atmosphere is so relaxing. Definitely a must see if your in the Fort Wayne area and want to just feel at peace.
This place is small, but absolutely jam packed and magical. The only thing I dont like is some of the events, like last night. I was REALLY looking forward to a child free Rocky Horror Picture Show event, and then there were a TON of kids. Teenagers I can understand, but little kids...??? Seriously, there are so few adult spaces other than the bar. It was a lot of fun, but slightly disappointing.
My friend and I visited here after she had a long stint indoors all cooped up and we loved it super informative as we went to color in motion live butterfly enclosure that you walk in a ton of butterflies super neat wish my phone had more battery it died before I could get more butterfly pictures also had conjure coffee inside very good coffee and the barista was very nice
This is a pretty cool place to check out especially if your hotel is downtown, super short walk. Only bad things I can think of is not every part of it is wheelchair accessible which sucked for our wheelchair user and most museums offer AAA members some kind of discount but they did not. But having two legs and no mobility issues I thought it was pretty cool, could be better if they did a bit more so wheelchair users could get the entire experience and smooth entering and exciting the outdoor exhibits they were very un-even.
This place is amazing. We stop by here pretty much every time we come to Ft. Wayne. Not only is it an educational place, but its fun and always changing.
A nice place to come and appreciate a large variety of plant life. Really enjoyed the jungle section, though we came on a HOT day so we got a little steamy. The butterflies were fun, and they were definitely not afraid to mingle a bit! They were setting up for a wedding during our visit and it looked like it was going to be the perfect spot for one! Super reasonably priced, make sure to stop by the gift shop to pick up a cocoon! The kids are SUPER excited to see their butterfly emerge later.
°Butterflies were uplifting if youre depressed. It definitely does something to your spirit.°Cactus and desert plants were oddly fun.°Waterfall/Rainforest themed room was my absolute favorite and the most beautiful place by far to be.Top 3 faves besides the mini shop at the entrance. Prices are reasonable.
This place was very cool. Park in the parking garage and they will validate your parking pass for the whole day. It is only 5 dollars a person. Definitely a cheap and cool experience that takes about 20 to 25 minutes to walk through. There is a small honey bee exhibit which was very neat. Definitely worth a visit if you have never been there before.
My family really enjoyed this place. It has a jungle room, a desert room, large butterfly tent and much more. Much of it is handicap accessible. It appeared to be well taken care of. You can purchase various flowers here as well along with other things at the gift shop area. Its located in downtown fort Wayne. You can see many flowers and trees here that are not native to this area. I also saw a large garden area that can be used for a wedding and reception.
Lots of gorgeous plants! I wish there was more identification in places (or perhaps I missed it). Distinct differences in climates and the plants that thrive there - very interesting. The outside plants were not thriving in the heat. I am looking forward to returning when things perk up! Maybe next spring.
It is a beautiful garden! I was fortunate to be there while there was a small collection train expo. I got the opportunity to see it for the first time. There was also a dog motive garden... beautiful! They do have activities for kids, and the experience was spectacular. I bought some plants on my way out and put it at home.
Ive been many times with family and this place never disappoints. It is always so beautiful and neat to see the different biomes. I also recently had my wedding/reception here and it was wonderful! Once the merriment died down people could wander through the building while chatting, instead of staying at a table the whole time! I will continue to return, this place is amazing! (The tropical room is crazy humid, youve been warned!)
Lovely place to visit while in Ft Wayne. We spent about an hour meandering through the different habitats while enjoying a hot tea from the cafe attached to the souvenir shop. Staff was friendly and helpful. It’s definitely a place worth visiting during cold winter days especially if you have young children. Our teens enjoyed themselves too! Entrance fee is nominal and purchasing a membership offers many options including music programs during the summer.
A nice set of gardens, and a relaxing way to spend a spare hour or two when you have the time. The gardens are laid out with three indoor sections, each with a different theme, and an outdoor section. During our visit there were many plants in bloom. There are signs which tell visitors what the name is of the species of plant you are looking at.Being in the middle of the city means there is little free parking nearby.
Love this place, they have a summer music series that is off the chain. Keep showcasing local talent. We love your shows and garden areas. Thank you Fort Wayne. This is a must stop by destination! Check it out for yourself😉
We like it so much we got a membership. For only $50 a year our family of four can go and enjoy all of the exhibits with free parking in the parking garage across the street!
This place is awesome! The variety of plant life here is amazing and the exhibits are beautiful. They have a butterfly exhibit going on where you enter a enclosure filled with butterflies from around the world. One landed on my head and stayed there. It was like a crown and thus I became the King of Butterflies 🤣. I definitely recommend visiting here!
This has always been a favorite place to visit and other than the obvious heat, which is totally expected of a conservatory, it was a beautiful visit. We did family pictures with our daughter and her new husband and loved it in there. Plenty of variety and unique spots for taking pictures. There were so many butterflies outside they were landing on us. The staff was great and the gardens beautiful. They really do need more handicap parking at the building though, there are 3 spots in a little drop off area and thats it.
Beautiful gardens with a great variety in flowers and plants..loved the desert themed area..also the outdoor are is quiet and allows for air flow from the indoor exhibits
Lovely place. Indoors and apt for winter
Beautiful gardens and great experience!
Great collection! Includes multiple environments with well kept collection of species. Waterfall feature and Koi pond. While accessibility for doors and main level access, including restrooms, meeting rooms and classrooms, be prepared to climb a few stairs both up and down to see everything. The gift shop is pretty tight too.
Great stop and worth the $5 entrance fee. We only needed about an hour.
Drove up from Indy and was not disappointed. Good size, great assortment of plants. Great gift shop.
There were 3 different rooms explaining the different environments. Desert, rainforest, and rural. It was amazing!
An excellent way to spend a few hours! Right now they have their 100 acre woods exhibit right now and its adorable. My two boys had so much fun wandering around all the different rooms. A wonderful place to take professional photos with your family. If you havent been, go!
Just purchased a family season pass are there many great events going on through the year. The butterfly exhibit was amazing. Im looking forward to going throughout the winter to the desert and rainforest exhibit somewhere nice to to take the kids in the middle of winter to get a summer like experience in town without having to leave Fort Wayne. The staff and volunteers are very informative and helpful.
Beautiful place and nicely decorated for the fall season👍🍁🙏
Great place to even take the kids to see and appreciate the beauty of nature! There were different areas to go and such well kept gardens
I enjoy how the gardens were broken down into different themes. Having the labels for all the different plants was nice. For the low cost of admission you easily get your moneys worth.
Very interesting place! We picked up a tiny cactus and a few day lillies while there. The outdoor area was gorgeous.
The first thing I noticed when stepping into the gardens, was the sweet smell in the air. It was coming from everything that surrounded me, but mostly the fragrant Italian rosemary plants with her little white flowers. My stay in Fort Wayne Indiana was quite short, but Im very glad that I took the time to stop by the Botanical Conservatory. It is a wonderful thing to behold, a perfect place to sit and contemplate the beauty of nature. I only wish I had more time, then I would have read my book in one of the the most peaceful, beautiful places. They had a very good variety of plants. Of course I was a fan of the many fruit bearing trees yes. They even had a Cocoa Tree! But the most interesting to me was a fruit that Ive never heard of or ever seen before in my entire life, and I pride myself on having tried many exotic fruits and vegetables. A jaboticaba fruit tree. If Im ever back at Fort Wayne Indiana Im definitely coming back here!
Very interesting, it has several garden spaces (jungle, desert, and exploration). You get to see coffee and chocolate plants. The gift shop is nice and the cafe is cool.
Went with my daughter to check out the butterfly exhibit, it was very cheap and fun! 8 dollars for the both of us. And the butterflies where amazing. They will land on you and chill...
Always amazing and absolutely gorgeous
I was VERY disappointed. There were weeds in the various displays. The signs were hard to find if there were any there to identify the plants.
Excellent! So happy that we decided to visit the Conservatory! The Tropical Jungle is an AMAZING place. Our 6 year old enjoyed each and every display and actually wanted to know details about the plants. Enjoyed the Orange, Coffee, Cinnamon, Chocolate/Cocoa trees. Mesmerized about the Ref Powder Puff flowers and the many others. The HOT atmosphere of the dessert enclosure didn’t bother this girl at all. On the contrary! The games, detective work and weird thorny plants attracted her. Just as the Samoa, Hawaii display with their ball games. Thank you :) What a beautiful day !
Beautiful place❤
Beautiful Butterfly display!
Good fun and educational for a nice affordable price. Had a nice part of a date here.
Staff was all very nice. Amazing display of specimen plants from around the world! Beautiful fish in the waterways!
Wow, what a great local treasure! For 5 dollars we enjoyed the annual butterfly exhibit and toured the indoor and outdoor gardens. It was a great trip.
Check out the Butterfly Garden here. They have it every year for a few weeks during the summer. You get to be in an area with hundreds of butterflies from all over the world. Its a really nice experience. Kids really enjoy it.
Love the Zydeco concerts. Minimal cost. Outdoor patio is awesome.
If you are looking to spend a few bucks to entertain your kids for a hour or so this is a great spot. Fairly cheap and not huge so you wont be tired when you finish. Its size is the only reason its 4 starred but its size cant be helped when its smack dab in the middle of downtown Ft. Wayne.
My niece and I had a nice time walking around inside on a cold day! So many beautiful things to look at! Lots of great activities and displays for little ones also! We also enjoyed picking out some treasures in the gift shop!
Well maintained, educational, and beautiful exhibits. A nice escape in the winter months.
This place is beautiful and has reasonable admission. Its nice to be surrounded by beautiful plants and get a reprieve from the winter in here. I am excited to return in the late Spring so we can go outdoors!
Usually this place is really neat to take the kids to check out. With the covid restrictions is wasnt all that good this time around but we got to see Reindeer!! Kids were happy about that so it all worked out.
I really enjoyed this botanical conervatory and the only complaint I have is the lack of plant labeling which is pretty common. I really enjoyed the orchids throughout their indoor displays. Id love to comeback in summer so I could walk through the grounds. Its a great place to go on a cold winter day.
PRICE: Affordable; $5 for Adult, $3 for kid, free for infant. SIZE : Small/moderate; after the entry Annex > Showroom > Tropical > Desert.. adjacent to these 3 greenhouses are Outdoor & Terrace garden area. PARKING : free; as Im briefly visiting Ft. Wayne, I didnt read Gardens main website and did not know that Civic Garage across the street is covered at the receptionist desk.
Enjoyed taking a walk through the gardens. Would recommend going if you have some time to pass and is an inexpensive activity to do.
Great place to take the family, especially when its cold outside
Super cute place to visit! It was raining and cold the day I went so I went here to explore and it was a fun experience. There’s even a cute gift shop that had local honey.
If u love plants and flowers. This is the place to go! Such a huge variety to see.
This was definitely a fun experience! I would suggest going when its warmer outside because some of the attractions are outside. This place is fun for kids and adults and the price is pretty cheap.
This is a great place to visit any time of year, but especially at Christmas. Everyone is friendly and the displays are always top knotch. Very affordable too. Highly recommend!
Could use more art/sculptures but overall a nice place to visit when in Fort Wayne
Its a fun place. Nice, seasonal displays. Its extra nice during the holidays. Its a great way to spend an afternoon. Also close to several other downtown spots. Well worth a day trip if you arent from the area.
This is such an enjoyable spot to spend some time browsing plants from all over the world. While its kid oriented, if your kids like to explore, you need to be on them like cheese on a hamburger. For everything you get to see, the price is quite reasonable. As of this review, masks and social distancing are required and enforced.
My son has skeeter syndrome and his allergic reactions are very serious and deathly allergic to bees. He cant really go out side without long sleeves and pants and caked on spray but today was something else!!!(chanced it outside we were having fun) We were able to go everywhere and not have to worry about being stung and I really seen him have so much fun and be a kid. Thank you guys from the bottom of my heart!!!
First time here for a wedding. It was very nice with a nature-like appeal even though we were in downtown Ft Wayne. It was a nice atmosphere.
A gorgeous place to spend an afternoon -- a refreshing mini getaway any time of year
Ive enjoyed coming here for years. My, now adult children, still enjoy it as well. Always a nice relaxing place to visit.
A nice quiet place in the middle of the city. Five bucks for an adult admission isnt bad for the enjoyable walk through the gardens.
Quiet & serene place. Very well maintained.
I went today and I cannot wear a mask due to medical conditions. I called Thursday and asked their procedures, as I do everywhere. Well as soon as my kids and I walked in the guy working caused a scene yelling at me that I needed a mask. I even called ahead and knew I needed a medical exemption pass but he yelled at me before I could even explain. But I stayed calm and kind as always. Then in the garden area a female employee came towards us yelling at me I need to put a mask on very rudely!! And then as we were exiting (at this point I had the pass in my hand face up walking with it so everyone can see it walking by me because I was so tired of being yelled at) the lady at the front desk yelled at me and then apologized as soon as she looked and seen my hand I literally didnt get One word in!!!!Bad experience!! Your employees shouldnt be so quick to judge people, especially with medical conditions!
Beautiful. Disappointed that the hands-on and other kids things were closed when we visited. Also, it was difficult being masked in the hot humid environment, especially for children. However, we enjoyed our visit and will return with our kiddos once covid restrictions lessen.
The tropical greenhouse is really impressive, but the rest is just ok.
Loved it! Went as a kid and coming back now was so much fun! I loved all the exhibits and it was a fun day trip with friends.
Child friendly. Different displays. Good variety of plants.
Wonderful place to chill and soak in some plant time. At the moment there is a butterfly exhibit which is super mellow and super trippy. Overall a neat place to visit, highly recommended!
Its a nice oasis in downtown for Wayne. No senior discount tho
The botanical gardens are very impressive. I am originally from Indianapolis and can say that not even the circle city has a garden this nice. Great place to spend an afternoon!
