This commissary’s prices can’t be beaten. This is a place for Service members, Veterens, and dependents. Nice selection on vegetables, fruits, and much more.

This is my store is very clean and very comfortable to shop there they always have a great staff to buy is not complete but is close . I go there twice a month, I like it .

Its a small grocery store. But I loved doing my groceries here. I always find what I need.

I shop at the Ft Detrick commissary approximately every five days. The staff in all the departments, especially in the produce, are very helpful and patient with my requests. The cashiers are cheerful and helpful.(I must add that I have never been in a cleaner restroom !) Thank-you all for your hard work maintaining my favorite place to shop for my groceries!Jane Chisholm

The commissary here is one of the smallest I’ve shopped at. Their international food aisle is paltry—particularly with Asian food staples. Yes, there is an H-Mart in town for that. It’s just surprising how tiny this section of the commissary is compared to any commissary I’ve been to CONUS and overseas.We mostly come here to shop for meat and cheese anyway. We save the produce shopping for places off post.For the most part, the facility is clean and the workers are friendly enough.Biggest issue I have shopping here is no matter how sparsely populated this small commissary is at any given time, you’re sure to encounter at least one individual (On average, it’s more like three.) who blatantly disregard the 6 feet rule and engage in a series of micro aggressions towards other shoppers because they are miserable, impatient, uncouth, entitled human beings. And then they act like you’re the AH who purposely planted themselves in aisle 3 just so you could mess up their day!You either get into a war of words with them (and risk causing a scene and getting kicked out) or step aside—thereby enabling their sense of ENTITLEMENT to engage with pretty much everyone else in the store in the same way.I’ve always observed that no one mistreats the military more so than other people from within the military community itself. NO ONE.

This commissary is on the smaller end but it will have what you need. Bonus points for being at Ft Derrick for those Outbreak fans out there.

I have to give it 5 stars because thats all we have but its selections dont compete with the larger commissaries such as at ft. Meade and Belvoir. Im not complaining, just leveling expectations.

Love coming here because its never crowded and everyone is so kind! One of the cashiers even helps us find coupons.

I like to shop at Fort Detrick Commissary. They have limits on how many you can purchase of the most wanted items during the Covid 19 quarantine. This ensures that everyone can buy something they need. I wish other stores would do that to discourage hoarders. Everything from entrance to checkout is done in a smooth orderly fashion, but that could be because military people are quite good at following the rules (orders).

Lots of variety and several alternative meat items. Excellent customer service from the store manager.

Love shopping here. Today I bought TV dinners, sausage, apples, porterhouse steak, and Reemes noodles. Wanted Tim Horton coffee but they only had it in decaf. Why would anyone buy coffee decaffeinated?

As long as you can get on base, the Fort Detrick commissary is well stocked and is not very busy. I have one beef. It says you dont pay taxes but there is a 5% surcharge which by any other name is a tax

Commissary is best place to shop for food, in my opinion. Great selection and the prices are even better.

Will not buy the fruits. Always have mold on them. I pulled about 15 cases of blueberries today trying to even find one good container

One thing I like about all commissaries is the availability of foreign foods available. I have always enjoyed the spiciness of German mustards over American mustards like Frenchs, goulden, or boars head and I can get that at the Ft Detrick Commissary. FT Frtrick has a little deli that makes little subs and wraps that range from $3.99 to $4.99 based on when they are made. They also have a little sushi kiosk that makes fresh sushi every day. The sushi is the same sushi vendor that serves Ft Lee Virginia, Hickam AFB and the NEX HAWAII locations. The cashiers are all super friendly and will start conversations with you almost like they are a mom and pop shop getting to know their locals. The meat department is also nice and will work with you if you know what you are asking for and talking about and will make recommendations.

Small but very efficient. Great for being on a small base.

Prices are reasonable especially compared to other stores in the area.

This would probably be a 3 star review because it is on the small side but the consistent exceptional customer service pushes my review one star higher. The cashiers really do try to save you money by being mindful of deals and coupons, which I really appreciate.

As many other reviews mention, the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The store itself carries a good selection of necessities. Produce section carried a great selection of fruits and vegetables at competitive prices to other grocery stores. Meat selection was decent and staff offered assistance as necessary.

Excellent Commissary!. Not the largest but has 90% of what most people are looking for a great prices. I drive to this commissary even though other stores are closer because it is 1) not as crowded, 2) good parking, 3) people are polite, and 4) organized.

Smaller Commissary then what Im use to, but it seemed to have all the essentials so thats a plus!

Above average for a commissary. Smaller than most, but a decent selection. People bagging your groceries are friendlier than at the bigger stores and not as pushy if you want to carry your own stuff. Have yet to find any expired products on the shelves, so definitely better than most.

Its my first time to visit commisary its a good deal for the meat.

Good selections, but small commisary

Ive been onle a couple times but they offer a wide selection of goods and are extremely helpful! All the employees are so courteous and they go out of their way to lend a hand in any way. I only went with my sister and her husband who are military, as I wouldnt be able to alone but would highly recommend to anyone that is a member or could be and hasnt looked into it! It is highly worth it!

The stockers and deli people were super-friendly. The cashier...not so much!🥺 The bagger was helpful. It is small, but still what was offered was appropriate for the space and prices were still comparable.

This store is the right size and I love that. The prices are great. ALL the employees treat you like a friend. They try to be helpful to friends in their store - they cut you a larger (or smaller) roast if you need it, they check your eggs at the register. Last week the cashier mentioned that the price on avocados jumped, in case I hadnt noticed (I hadnt). They talk to you when you check out. Theyve spoiled me and I now hate going to other stores.

Most of the prices are now more than Walmart for the same brands.

Decent place to stay for a good price. Nothing special but the staff is helpful and the rooms are clean. If thats all your looking for this is a good choice. Rooms have refrigerator and microwave.

Small commissary but, decent enough to have what people need that lives here on post.

Very nice. The employees were very friendly and helpful. It is a full service commissary. Getting on post was a little tricky. You have to come in from Rosemont Ave gate.

It less crouded than others however you still can enjoy good prices and find all you need.

I love this commissary....everything you need and want in a clean and inviting atmosphere...big inventory in a small space....its the reason we drive from Chambersburg PA....great customer service.

Not as big as most military commissary but nice enough and has plenty of everyday items as well as some domestic items that are hard to find.

Its a great place to shop. Especially to garb a quick healthy lunch.
