Ive gone to McHenrys with a variety of small engine needs. All the folks Ive dealt with (sales, service and parts) have been very patient with my questions and extremely helpful!

They are very knowledgeable and even though they didnt have the part I needed, for my 60 year old tractor, they told me of other places to try.

I tried to return a Starter (for my lawn Tractor) that I never installed only to have a McHenry associate tell me the Starter cannot be returned because it had been installed. I told the associate I did not install the Starter and he said, “I’m not saying you installed it, but it has been installed and cannot be returned”. Curiously I looked at the Starter and asked what he saw, he said look at the mounting holes. The only thing I could see was a chamfer around one of the holes that looks like a manufacturing flaw and there was nothing that looked like installation wear. It didn’t matter what I said because his mind was made up….it cannot be returned. I only wish I would have taken the time to look the Starter over when I bought it before leaving the store because I’m sure the chamfer cut around the mounting hole was there when I bought it. Now I’m out the cost of the Starter, a Starter that I don’t need. I’m thinking about filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

The knowledge and willingness of everyone to answer your questions really stands out. The prices are reasonable and they can get you most anything in a day or two if they dont have it. But they have a large stock of parts and usually have what you need in stock. A great company to do business with.

Was told to come see a particular employee about my question and buy a zero turn. Got there at 445 and asked to see him. After being told he’d be out in a minute, I waited for 15. Then when the front desk finally decided to go see where he was, he cake back And I was told “oh it’s already 5, he can’t help today he’s packing up”. Then when the person at the desk offered to help even though he didn’t know the answer, he cut me off to answer the phone and chat with another customer about an order without even saying “hang on one moment” or “excuse me, I’m sorry”. I understand you’re a small business, and I’m trying to patronize you- you need to give at least decent customer service to get that done.

Love this place! They always have the parts I need to fix a wide variety of small engines. The staff is very helpful and knowledgable. If some reason they dont know the answer, they dont have an issue with assisting with searching for the correct answer.

A very good place to get service, repairs and parts for small engine outdoor power equipment. I have had a snow blower repaired, and bought parts for a lawn mower. Very reasonable prices, friendly staff, and the work was done earlier than promised.

The parts department is awesome, but unfortunately the repair section is so bad it brings the rest of the area down to one star. Brought in a log splitter only to have them call and tell me they couldnt get it started to test the pump and theyd be happy to replace the carburetor for $200. I get to the store and was able to start the log splitter in two pulls. He tells me he didnt actually mean it wouldnt start, just that it wouldnt run at the highest speed. He then said they could replace the pump for $350 and thats the only option to fix that kind of thing. I decided to take my log splitter and run, but not after they charged me their inspection fee even though they said they couldnt get it started to test anything.

Great parts department! Everything was in stock and was reasonable in price. They have pretty limited hours on the weekend which you have to be very mindful of if you work during the week.
