Great service! I went in to get a diagnostic completed for free because the dealership wanted $125. AAMCO called to let me know the issue and that they recommend I take to the dealership because of the minimal miles the part is most likely covered. Sure enough it was. Thank you so much AAMCO for being honest. I will definitely return when I dont need the over priced dealership.

Very terrible! They charged me $500 for work they didnt even do! Plus they had the shop next door doing their work! They are a big scam! They didnt even touch the car because they called me an hour before closing and I called them 8pm that night and told them not to touch it that $4000 to fix a trans was way to much. I know they did not do anything to it. Went to get the car that night and it wasnt even in their shop. They are a big rip off.....

We had an electrical problem with our van and went to this AAMCO location to see if they could diagnose the issue and we made an appointment with our dealership for the anticipated repair. Bruno, found the electrical problem, a blown fuse. They were awesome! They put a new fuse in and completely fixed the problem. Bruno saved us from a long wait at the dealership and from spending $$$ at the dealership to repair a minor issue. We definitely recommend going to this location for their fantastic customer service. We wanted to share our recent transmission rebuild experience at AAMCO on Val Vista and Chandler Blvd. We were worried about choosing the right shop for this repair for our teenage son’s older model Ford Mustang. The initial quotes were nearly half the value of the car. When we expressed our budget concern to Jeff, the store manager, he worked with us finding parts from vendors not necessarily the quickest and most familiar to them. We had to wait a little longer but we were willing to do that. Not an easy experience for a 17 year old to foot the bill of nearly $3000 for a rebuilt transmission. Thank you Jeff for your patience, diligence, and positive customer service. This was a life lesson for our teen. Choose your auto body shop with care and look at customer satisfaction reviews!

My air conditioner went out and I began pricing out diagnostic cost. I originally went to the place next door but decided I would price them well. While their price for the diagnostic test was not the cheapest it was fair and the customer service was excellent which is why I decided to have them complete the work. Also they were able to get me in same day, another bonus. I was even given a rough estimate on the most likely cause. It turned out to be blown fuse. I was charged for the fuse and nothing more. Less than 20 dollars, wonderful customer service and my air was back on in this 112 degree weather! I will definitely be going back.

I have used the AAMCO Gilbert shop a couple of times now. Recently I had some work done and the results were less than satisfactory. I contacted the shop and talked to them about the issues. They scheduled an appointment the next day. They were able to diagnose the problems which ended up being some bad parts from their supplier. They replaced everything and thoroughly tested everything to make sure everything worked. The went above and beyond what was required of them and replaced some damaged plastic coverings and even washed my vehicle. I can confidently say that I have never been treated so well by any other company let alone any other shop. They showed excellent character simply by taking ownership and ensuring that I was satisfied as a customer. I will definitely use them for future repairs and can easily recommend them to anyone.

Getting your car serviced can be stressful but Jeff at our local AAMCO is amazing! He is professional, courteous and intelligent. I recently brought my Mazda 2 in for a check-up and oil change. The auto mechanics went over my car with a fine tooth comb, serviced my car and provided me with down the road repair items. I have to say it was actually okay to be told that in the next six months or so, I may be looking at some repairs. He also provided me with the estimates so I wont be suffering from sticker shock in six months. How wonderful is that! So if you need anything from an oil change to a transmission replacement, I highly recommend that you give Jeff and the mechanics at AAMCO a call. They are reliable and good to the core.

Hello. My name is Sean and I promised the guy at the shop I would write a review for the work performed on my truck at AAMCO. I almost got too lazy to write it, but as an Army veteran I had to keep my promise. Integrity :) Anyway, I am skeptical whenever and where ever I have mechanical work done, especially if its with a service I never used Before. After picking up my truck yesterday, I am happy with the service provided. Honestly, I never knew my clutch could be this smooth. The price was fair and competitive and was less expensive than two other mechanics I received quotes from. One business who shall go nameless, wanted to charge me double what I paid at AAMCO. The other shop where I have been going for 14 years, quoted me a figure $200.00 more than AAMCO. I just wanted to let people know that and thank the guys for their hard work and great results. I will definitely go back to them and I recommend them as well. Have a good day.

I checked this shop out about 3-4 years ago when the shop I was using gave me a questionably high charge to fix my car. I brought it here for a quote to replace a head-gasket. Mike checked out the car, did multiple tests to confirm the issue and then told me I didnt need a new head-gasket. Thats honesty! Mike has proven time and again to be solid, honest and earnest! This is my go-to place to fix my cars, and Mike has earned my trust!Their prices are very competitive! Though Ive never had a significant customer service issue or a significant delay is getting things fixed with them, theyve earned some good-will and understanding on my part if that does every occur...I rarely (if ever) give an unqualified recommendation for a business, but Mike and the team here have earned it!

I was skeptical in going to a mechanic shop where I did not know anyone personally. Also, I knew the repairs were extensive and would be costly. My initial plan was to take my truck to the dealership. I was informed that dealerships sometimes have outrageous labor costs and part mark-up prices. My step-dad told me about AAMCO. He said that they were efficient and well priced, so I took a chance. I am happy to say that I am pleased with the decision to take my truck to AAMCO on ValVista and Williamsfield. I was surprised how fast the work was completed with how busy the shop was. My transmission needed to be removed for the work to be completed, which is a lot for those who may not be aware. All of the work was completed in a bout three days and the cost was more than reasonable. A few days had gone by and a leak was discovered. I thought it may have been from an area that had already been assessed and repaired but it was from a different part. Jeff kept me well informed and replaced the part under warranty as a courtesy. I am very pleased with the customer service and mechanical work the team does over there and I highly recommend using AAMCO for those who are just as skeptical as I am!

Absolutely deplorable.Don’t trust what they tell you.Went in with AC not working and was told I needed a whole “kit” that replaces the compressor, condenser, some fittings and they flush and refill. That was going to cost $1700.Decided to try and refill the Freon myself and the compressor clicked on and has been running perfectly since. It’s pretty sad when you can’t even trust a professional to tell you the truth. There was nothing wrong with my compressor and I was told it had failed. It’s obviously working now with plenty of Freon.Ice cold AC for the low low price of $50.Don’t trust ANY mechanic shop without a second opinion. Will not be returning or recommending.Update:It’s been one week and still blowing cold air! I will take you up on your offer of July 4th! Will be seeing you July 5th for my free AC repair. Cheers!

I got the car back and it ran perfect. 2 weeks later the transmission cable broke. I took my car in for a transmission rebuild among other things that needed to be fixed. I ended up spending $3300 for all the fixes, and the turn-around time was excellent! But unfortunately I ran into an issue that nearly cost me an additional $1200 due to issues the mechanic caused.Once on the road, I had to drive the vehicle a good 50 miles on the freeway the next morning. I heard a high pitched whining sound when I started slowing down, and I noticed that it sounded like a buzzing noise when driving slower. Turned out my transfer case was acting up, not to mention my 4x4 selector was not showing my car in either 2HI, 4HI or 4LO. I switched to 4HI and the noise stopped. I switched back and the noise started up again.I took the car back to the shop as soon as possible and they said they did not find anything wrong with the transfer case and that it works fine. I found that hard to believe as that night I had the same issues again (and for the rest of the week). Since I did not want to spend any additional money, I checked out Google for possible answers. The easiest and more common answer was the vacuum switch for the transfer case needed to be replaced. I took a look and LO AND BEHOLD, the switch was plugged in backwards and not all the way. The plug is keyed, so its not hard to see it was installed incorrectly. Once I flipped the plug around and installed it correctly, My 4x4 MAGICALLY worked and there was no more noise coming from driving in 2HI.Had I not found this issue out, a transfer case rebuild could have cost me at least $1200. I feel like the mechanic and/or shop was being a bit shady plugging in my switch backwards which could have caused sever damage, not to mention professional mechanics found no issue with my transfer case, yet I found the issue just by looking at the vacuum plug.Great transmission work, but I feel like they will suck every dime they can out of you by causing other issues. I should not have to return to the shop after a day of having the car, just to be told that there are no more issues when I clearly heard and found the issue myself. Otherwise this review would have been 5 stars.

Left my car there for a simple wire repair. It ended up taking a full week and every time I called to see how it was going, it was obvious theyd completely forgotten about my car. Understandable to a certain extent, theyre very busy, but still, thats not very professional. But finally I got a call and they discovered my ECM had shorted and it was going to cost 1,300 in repairs. I decided to withdraw my vehicle and am looking into it and I can do the exact same repair myself for around $100. Also, my power steering had a very small leak before I brought my car in. When I tried to drive it away, the power steering fluid was obviously empty. There was no way such a tiny leak could have escalated like that, since Id known about the leak for a few months and it had barely changed until I left my car there. They offered an estimate of 350 dollars to fix it. Went to Auto zone and can get the exact same parts and do it myself for less than $100. Overall the worst experience Ive had at an Aamco.

Ive been going to this shop since it opened approximately 5 years ago. Mitchell, the manager, has the highest integrity with regard to recommending service and helping customers. For example, I had to get an alignment at another shop since Aamco didnt have the equipment. The other shop recommended $1100 in repairs, providing me with extensive documentation and diagnostics. I took the car back to Aamco at a later date due to a broken tail light, gave Mitchell the documentation and asked him to look into it. He called me the next day and said I could come pick the car up. He said none of the work was necessary, and although one valve had a minor leak it wouldnt be an issue for a while, and I should watch for drips on the driveway in the future. Plus, he threw in the tail light fix for free. In all my years, Ive never dealt with a more outstanding shop.

Took my 2013 F-150 in for a transmission fluid exchange. I was informed twice by Jeff (before service and after)that the truck would be put on a machine (transmission fluid exchanger). This was not the case. I watched as the technition (Justin) used only a vacuum extraction system. This system pulls fluid only from the transmission pan. This type of vacuum does nothing to pull the other fluid from the transmission cooler, torque converter, transmission lines or any in the transmission itself. This size of trans pan hold an estimated (3-4qt) the entire system holds 13.1 (according to factory specs). When I questioned Jeff about this service and how it was performed. He said let me check with the Tech how much fluid was exchanged. He came back and said 10qt had been exchanged. This is not possible, with the type of extraction vacuum used. The truck was never put on the transmission exchange machine ( as promised, and lead to believe it was), no lines were disconnected to empty the lines, torque converter, trans cooler, or residual fluid in the transmission housing. For the cost, the misleading and unfulfilled service as stated by Jeff. Not a business I would choose to use again.Would like to give an update to my original grievance. The owner (Wayne) called me personally and explained the miscommunication between the service writer and myself. Wayne took it upon himself, to take time out of his busy day to make contact and to resolve the grievance I had originally posted about. Thank you Wayne and thank you to your service techs. Wayne offered to do a pan drop, transmission filter change, pan gasket and replenish the trans fluid for my 2013 F 150 XL for free. All I had to do was to bring it back in. The service was completed with O.E. parts and finished in a timely manner. I am also a business owner, and much to my suprise now a days, not many busines owners would go out of their way to fully correct a grievance and to personally stay hands on and make sure issues are seen to correction, as Wayne did. Other than a verbal and technical verbiage miscommunication the Techs and owner at Gilbert AAMCO, made the situation correct in my mind.

Seems I have to click at least 1 star to get this to post. Took an old car in to get a tuneup, that was overhauled prior and because of other factors, did not get the engine fine tuned at that time. I needed the idle/carb adjusted and brake vacuum looked at. Had a 30yr old carb in engine, missing a manual choke) and was persuaded to just get a new one. Ok. The new carb was $660. Thought that was a lot of $, but going to this shop a few times, felt comfortable enough with their service and trusted them. I can not find the same NEW electric-choke-carburetor online for more than $520 (many in the $300 price range) and most of them even under $500 includes an air filter, air cleaner, fuel line and calibration kit. This kit they say came with nothing. Upon picking the car up, I was told it should be brought back in asap as there is a disturbing pinging noise and they should drop the oil pan and check pistons, etc. Why did they not call and ask to investigate it, if it is a serious issue? This noise was not there before bringing the car in. Nothing was loose, and I had driven this car beforehand, a good 30miles after prior engine work, before bringing the car in. Checking myself, the timing was knocked completely out of adjustment, from the desired 4deg to way off the measurable chart, causing the horrible pinging. Adjusting it down, the loud pinging has stopped. I called to ask if timing was adjusted, the front desk said no, and for maybe the 4th time in 4 days, was told they would get back to me in an hour after talking to the mechanic who worked on it. 4 days later now and I am still waiting for a phone call. I asked if I could bring the car in on a Thursday if they could work on it right away (I called them days in advance to line up an appt on Friday already), they said sure bring it in. It sat until late Friday morning, didnt get done until late in the day Monday. Choke was not adjusted correctly, making it hard to start. Idle not adjusted right. The Fuel inlet tube off the carb wasnt tight, with gas leaking out of it. And then, was told that there may be serious problems that they didnt even call me about to see if I wanted them to look at it. No sense of urgency, 4 days to add a carburetor on a car that I had booked an appt in advance. I had to continually call them for updates. They cant call back as they promise. They look to sell you marked up parts, slap it in and the car comes out of the shop in worse shape than it went in. STAY AWAY. The best thing they did for me is, in my busy schedule, make me do the research to fix their poor carb adjustments and adjust the timing myself. They earned the 1 star.

I finally found a great place to take my cars!!! I first found Mitchell Ryan a few years ago at an AAMCO in north Mesa... I was having problems with my car and after several different shops tried taking advantage of me, someone told me to go to Mithells shop. My car was fixed right away and the problem never reoccurred. I sold the car about 18 months ago and got a used Lexus... after the 90 day warranty from the dealer ran out, I had a problem and of course the dealer wouldnt take care of it.. I searched for Mitchell again and found he had moved to the 2319 S Val Vista location of AAMCO. He is now the manager of this location. Again, he fixed my car completely, and provided fast, courteous and complete service. I am indeed indebted to him. I have recommended this location to all my friends and co-workers.

I have been there on a several different occasions with 2 of my vehicles with zero problems. But after this time I will never return and if Im asked for a shop I will not have anything good to say about them. My vehicle was there for 5 days and no work was performed I had to visit the shop 2 different times to check in because they seem not to know how to operate a phone. I was told by the counter help if I would have made an appointment it would have made a difference, REALLY!!!My vehicle still isnt working properly and this cost me $250 in rental car charges. I really try and look to keep my money in the local business community but this hurts!! STAY AWAY FROM AAMCO AT WILLIAMS FIELD & VAL VISTA.....

Good work on fixing my car, but lacks customer service. They never cleaned up after themselves. Got my car back with oil/grease marks all over my seat, steering wheel, and hood.

I took my car there to have my brakes done. After a week I heard noise upon braking. Took it back and they told me oil leaked onto my brakes and thats why its making that noise. The brakes are fine. Drove for a couple months and it kept getting worse. I took it back again taking my exhusband with me who knew something serious was wrong and got the same story. I took it for a second opinion. They told me what I was hearing was the pins freezing up on my brakes. No one took them out and greased them when they did my brakes. The mechanic couldnt even get them to move. They just slapped new pads on and called it a day! I will never, ever use this shop again!!! RIP OFF! Please save yourself some heartache and money and go somewhere that will do the job RIGHT!

Never write a review. I was hesitent to bring the mercedes to AAMCO due to poor reviews in the US. I typically do my own car repairs and maintainence, but way too hot in AZ to do the transmission flush in my garage. Brought in my 2003 Mercedes SLK320 for a tranny filter, flush and replace the infamous adapter plug which leaks. I called and Mike was very familiar with the adpater plug o ring leak. He gave me a fair quote for the work. I bought the part at mercedes dealershhip for 18 bucks. Mike and his team completed the job and saved the old parts for inspection. I had a slight leak I noted the next day, possible bad adapter from Mercedes, went back to mercedes and got another adapter, Mike and his team replaced this at no charge, cleaned up the area and verified it was no longer leaking. His team even cleaned up the poor harnessing mercedes put together under the tranny. There is one quality issue I do note, but I do not blame this on Mike or his team, this ALL falls on the ower of the shop who is not supplying his team with a confortable working environment. The temp was 115 outside and the poor technicians have to work in the terrible heat do to poor AC in the shop, they are forced to work with the doors open, this only leads to inefficiency in the work place and mistakes made, this ALL falls on the owner, he needs to get out of his comfortable house and work a few days at his shop while its over 110 degrees outside, see how comfortable he is and effecient he works !!! besides feeling sorry for the techs, I would recomend THIS AAMCO location, I will use them again

Mike was easy to work with in the beginning..getting to the root of our transmission problems. . did take a few days on our 2005 Chevrolet Silverado truck..with only 138, 400 miles on it...plus he found out that the ac actuator on the passenger side was okay.😊 Just the switch was bad..3&4 gear were slipping..found out the clutch had gone bad..just worn out..we paid for the lifetime warranty package on the transmission..and received a fair quote to repair the ac switch..when we picked up our vehicle..we noticed the radio didnt work..it worked before. Told Mike about it..he said bring it back and he will have the technician check for a bad connection..because the technician had to remove the radio to install the new Ac switch..they did not double ck their work..alittle bump in the road..we did have problem with the new battery from OReillys in our neighborhood..:( that we replaced before the transmission & ac repaired..we werent able to bring back our truck for reconnection of the radio..Mike towed our truck back to Aamaco on Friday..which we did appreciate. .told us the new battery was bad..said they would reconnect the radio. .next day Saturday. .we called to see when we could expect our truck..Mike said 1/2 to 45 minutes..we called again after 45 minutes said we were in the area...could not get through on the phones..went over anyway. .Mike was there said our truck was good to go..still need a new battery..didnt know how long that new bad battery was going to last. Thank you Mike..I would have given it five stars..the radio comes on..but no connection to the antena..if I told a customer that I would reconnect their radio that I disconnected I would do it right..what good is the radio without an antena connection? So what do we do? Spending over $4,000 dollars for an incomplete job!

I brought my Truck here to be evaluated. They test drove it and hooked it up to their computers and still couldnt give me a solid quote. Just an open quote saying it will cost this much to take it out and reinstall. We wont know until we take it apart. They also told me that there were eletrical issues and wanted to charge me 100.00 plus parts cost just to fix there so called eletrical problems. Every transmission expert Ive spoken to said any transmission mechanic would know what was wrong and they were trying to scam me. That its the oldest trick in the book. That I would have probably paid more than 3000 by the time I walked out of there. I went to a place in Phoenix, PETES TRANSMISSION and paid 1400.00 for a replacement transmission with a 3 year warranty. My truck was completed in 2 hours. Truck drives excellent now and turns out, there wasnt any eletrical problems like AAMCO lied about. Also, this AAMCO only rebuilds ur transmission, they dont replace. And their warranty is only 12 months on their rebuilds.

Brought my wifes VW bug in for a CEL and another issue with the gas pedal a little while ago... it ran fine but we werent sure... Mike got the guys to take a look at it and diagnosed the issue but had to dig a little deeper into it. They found it, gave a fair price using OME parts and we were good to go. So far so good! No more CEL! Thanks guys!
