Problem started with my car on Friday evening, my husband suspected it was a strut issue. The place we usually take our cars is not open on Saturday so we called Sun devil Auto. I spoke to Eli who asked us to get it in right away, which we did. I was very happy they were able to have the vehicle back to me by 3:00 p.m.

I paid $5,600 to have our LR3 transmission fixed. We were given a 1 year warranty and told if anything goes wrong please come back in. About a week after getting the car back it would continue to get stuck in first gear and flash every single light on the dashboard. Twice my wife and kids were stuck in traffic driving the car back home in first gear which obviously is a very dangerous situation. I have taken the car in 3 times to be looked at and all three times I was told we cant find the problem, your car is fine have a nice day. I have taken pictures, I have detailed the incidents but nothing has been resolved to date as the problem mysteriously disappears for a day or two every time I get the car back. Very poor experience and extremely disappointed with Sun Devil Auto

Mike and the staff are great. Their integrity was impeccable. My car was a hot mess but they continued diagnosing until the problem was resolved. They are always friendly, helpful and professional. I’ve been a customer for years and will continue. Thanks guys!!

Warning!! Don’t trust the integrity of the work. Check before you drive off****We are so disappointed with Auto Sun Devil. Lately they seem to rush through services which had left us with afterwork. I’m not sure if they are rushing and neglecting small details, but they are. These small details can lead to car accidents. This is the second time we have had issues. We’ve been loyal customers, but not after the second time. The first time they left something unplugged from the radiator - which was causing our engine to overheat. This time we went in for a simple oil change, inspection, tire rotation. Everything else looked good, oil changed, and they rotated my husbands tires. I was driving the truck and had to call my husband because the truck kept shaking abnormally! It felt like a tire was coming out! Well my husband came to meet me and that literally was the case! They did not tighten the tire nuts. We were able to manually do many twist without the tire key. Not to mention that they kept our key that we had left left foe them to rotate our tires. So we had to go buy a key/tool and we’re ultimately able to tighten it ourselves. These were very VERY loose! Scares me to think the tire was close to coming off!

Our car stopped working. Sun Devil has a towing service that picked up the car. It was very reasonable. They found that the fuel pump went out. Fixed it that day. We all thought the car was working just fine. The car stopped working the next day. They towed it back free of charge! They found a short in a wire that was not allowing the car to run. They fixed it free of charge. CAN YOU BELEAVE THAT!!! In this day and age a company standing by their word and not charging to fix things that are not reseated to the reason the car was brought in. I know they can not always do this and I have used them for years but I wanted to give a big shout out to Sun Devil and Mike for taking good care of me and my family!!!

Great customer service. In/Out within an hour for an oil change, all fluids filled, my breaks checked, and fuse changed. Only charged me for the oil change. Definitely going back!

Bought my car in at 9 and told them what I wanted done but was told it might not be so a diagnostic was pushed and it would take a few hours, I didnt get a call till 7 hours went by, and nothing was done and the things I came in wanting done was basically what they told me needed done . And that the diagnostic they didnt might not be accurate so they wanted to do another one. And not only that their prices are higher then the sun devil auto in sunlakes.At the end of it, I called pep boys and thankfully got a better price and am getting squeezed in as soon as they open

I had them change the rotors on the rear and then flush the brake system. When I received my car it had a faint vibration in the tires that wasn’t there when I brought it in, I assumed the tire as a bit flat so I aired them up, and I planned on taking it in on my next day off, but the problem kept getting worse. Then, today as I started to drive it felt like I had a flat tire so I got out and checked and the lug nuts were lose and the tire was vibrating itself off. I have never even heard of this happening when the tire was out on correctly so I know they didn’t tighten my front tires all the way. This is a mistake that could easily become fatal and I thank god no one was harmed by it.

Brought it to our regular location because we tried another location and had the most unbelievably horrible experience. This location did the warranty work on my transmission and fixed another issue with it. We will never go to another location again. Mike Kline and his crew are the best shop I’ve ever come across in my life. Reasonable, honest, and most of all friendly. They explain everything. They don’t slap “STUPID” on your head like other Companies/Shops.

Listen, this was my first time getting services done on my vehicle since I purchased it and there was a HECK of a lot wrong with my car. Steven was very nice and patient with me! I had no idea how my extended warranty worked or who I needed to call and he took care of everything and the overall price was fantastic!Come pick up time, Steven had a very peculiar gentlemen he was assisting and handled the situation like a CHAMP! (Older gentlemen who had soiled his seat in the vehicle.) I hope Christmas bonuses are a thing with this company because Steven deserves a big one! Will definitely be coming back for repeat services.

Way above and beyond! They were able to fix my car the same day and even found OEM parts that the dealer said would be 4 weeks due to a national back order. I am so happy that we went to Sun Devil!

The guys got my car fixed sooner than I had expected which was amazing but the point of my review is to give a special thanks to them for helping me. I have been having some pretty bad luck lately and I dropped my key in the gutter as soon as I walked out of the shop. Which in turn I completely lost it (not directed at anyone but just in general) because I was upset. The guys from the shop then went out of their way to show me kindness and helped me, which is something I haven’t really been getting lately. I just wanted to tell you guys I am so thankful for your human decency. More than you know or could imagine.I would definitely recommend them and think they were awesome!

Needed a radiator replaced on my 98 ranger when work shut down my vanpool without notice and I needed a working vehicle. Got the work done as on time although they didnt mention the flush needed as part of the repair. Really my fault as l knew it was normal and forgot to ask. They threw in the refill to make up. Overall a good place I would use again.

One of the few car mechanics I genuinely trust. On multiple occasions, they have been honest and only recommended necessary work on my car...all at a fair price. Most recently, they alerted me to an issue that was going to be very costly but let me know that my car manufacturer had this item on extended warranty. They recommended I check with the dealer to see if this repair was covered before they even attempted to quote me, and best part, it was fully covered! They are truly a great operation!! You know everyone can have a bad experience sometime in my life for the place but I have personally never had a bad experience with sun devil Auto. Had to wait on some parts to arrive for them which is not their fault but they do great work at a reasonably fair price that they stand behind. And I think the biggest thing to be said is they stand behind their work Ive used other shops that 6 months later theres an issue and theyre like oh no its not our fault but its the part they installed.

Spent 7 hours at/near the shop to have a single hose replaced. I asked to speak to the manager for alternatives to getting parts, including checking the AutoZone next door. I was told the manager would call me back after he got off an hour long call (I walked to a park nearby until I heard the diagnosis), but I never heard back. Due to Covid there was no space to sit inside until after noon. I got there at 7:30am. The manager finally came and spoke to me at 12:30pm saying the part was almost there. I didn’t leave until 2:30pm. What a waste of a day.

Mike is fantastic to work with, never in a bad mood, and always gives a thorough explanation of whats needed. The work is always well done without issue.

My AC blower went out and I paid to have it replaced with a manufacturers replacement part. It went out again and they covered it under their warranty. Then their was an issue with the wire harness to the bower and it fried the blower and the harness. They replaced it again under their warranty. The new name brand blower they put in went out again and they discovered a short. They replaced it with a different brand blower and it’s been working great. All under their warranty! They went the extra effort and never complained about the additional costs they were taking on to make sure my AC was working. They were in top of it the whole time and kept me informed through the process. They won my business moving forward!

This is my new auto service place of choice moving forward. I have lived here now in Arizona since 2002 and I have found it very difficult to find a top notch auto service that I had back in California. It is run very well and everyone there are so polite and professional something you think you wouldnt necessary receive going to a auto mechanical shop. Definitely feels as the put the customer first that it is their priority to take care of their customers and make repeating customers out of everybody. My last visit Anthony was GREAT, I did not have an appointment went in for a oil change and because he knew I was in a hurry for time he got me in and out and on my way back on the road so Id make it to my appointment on time. That is just a small example . I will be going here for everything even to do my Taxes if I could. Hope that the whole crew there can be recognized some how they all deserve a pat on the back! Can’t say enough about these guys. Kellen, the owner, is awesome. Upon being referred by another Sun Devil Detail client, I got in touch with Sun Devil through Facebook. Within a very short time frame I had an appointment for the next day, less than 24-hours after I contacted them.The work is impeccable. The price is perfect. Do yourself a favor and get second-to-none quality car detailing (inside and out) at the right price.

Customer service by all the service managers was on point. They were very courteous anytime they called and did so frequently with updates. Although I was not super excited about all of the repairs that my car had to have, they were understanding of the frustration and did their best to get the repairs done and the car back to me as quickly as possible. Not sure how much I would truly say that I would use Sun Devil Auto again, because who really wants to have to have their car fixed :). However, I would if the need did arise and I would refer others to them.

Cheap, but quality, service for a quick fix. Never experienced a problem here. The only drawback is they cannot do a lot of the more serious car fixes. Staff will put air in your tires for free which is appreciated.

First time at Sun Devil after hearing adds for quite a while. I didnt have an appointment but needed an oil change and to have an oil leak checked. They took care of it all including topping off fluids and rotating tires. Price was great and the work was done right. Thanks guys!

Lied about my alternator needing replacement. Either theyve got uneducated mechanics or they were trying to scam me. Great customer service only goes so far cause Ive gone here a few times with no problems but this was just way too shady. Lost my business. Take your car to a professional, saved me about 400$.

Friendly mechanical technician.

I went to get an ac tune up on my vehicle. They called to tell me there was a slew of issues wrong with my compressor that would cost a hefty penny. I came to get my vehicle and searched for a second opinion. Everything they said was incorrect and my vehicle is running ice cold air with no problems now after only spending a couple hundred dollars versus thousands. Really shady place. I would not go here.

2nd time I have tried this shop, and nothing but pure professionalism. They got me in quickly for a major fix, finished in 5 hours and out the door in 2 minutes. The only way to do business. Great job Guys!!!

Reply to Owners response... You said, It is our understanding that our technicians tested your battery and found it was testing with a low charge. You need to fire the technicians that worked on my car because they lied to both you and me. As I stated in my original comment Auto Zone tested the battery after your technicians and it was fine. Its now been 5 days with the same battery that your technicians tested and the car is running great. So the fact remains your store tried to sell me a new battery when one was not needed. Seems pretty shady no matter if you try to place the blame on your techs or you take the blame.DONT TRUST THEM! I dropped my car off at 9am on Saturday because I needed to test my alternator. It had trouble turning over the day before and I took it to Auto Zone who told me the battery was 100% charged but it failed the alternator test. At around 2:30pm sun devil called me a tried to tell me my battery was dead and they couldnt test the alternator. Then they tried to sell me a $200 battery. So I picked my car up and it started fine (no dead battery) I drove straight back to Auto Zone to have the battery tested again just to make sure the battery was fine. Battery tested fine again, then we clean the terminal and that fixed the failed test from the day before. Turns out sun devil lied to me and tried to make a quick buck with out even touching my car (it was in the exact same parking spot I parked it in). No doubt after I bought their $200 battery they would have told me my alternator was bad too.

Love the quality of service and the prices are very reasonable. They dont try to rip you off. Ask for Korbin or Anthony...

Amazing service. Im always nervous to take my car in to get repairs because I know nothing about cars and Im worried that repair shops will take advantage of that and charge me lots of money- but not here! Mike was super patient and friendly, and explained everything that my car needed. Had to bring my car in several times over the course of two weeks for leak problems and I was only charged once because of their customer satisfaction policy. Their prices are fair and when my car needed a more expensive part than what they had projected for me, they absorbed the extra cost. I absolutely recommend them for all service needs!

Mike is fantastic at Sun Devil Auto (Higley/Chandler Heights) he is a honest guy that tells you what you need done, and you dont feel pressured not doing all the recommended service. Ive had several expensive repairs and regular maintenance done on my 2005 Toyota SUV w/ 235,000 miles like steering system replaced, replace spark plugs, control arm, EFI, etc. and in every instance, Ive had excellent service. There were no problems requiring me to return the vehicle. Derrick, Justin, Mike are also always so helpful especially in finding solutions. The prices are fair and much cheaper than a dealer. Im looking to Sun Devil to keep me on the road for another 100,000 miles if possible. We even had Sun Devil replace the engine in another older vehicle a couple of years ago and all is well.

Staff is friendly and the facility is close by; however, even coming at 7 am on Saturday when it first opens it took them 4 hours to finish a simple oil change. I had to uber home.I had my son do his oil change at Sun Devil as well on a weekday and he dropped it off at 9 am it took them 6 hours to complete. He also had to uber home.I understand they’re very busy, but most places would’ve had it done within an hour. I’ll probably go elsewhere next time.

I’ve used Sundevil at the Higley road location for a number of years now. Always honest troubleshooting with my vehicles and fair prices. When able they have given discounts to me too. I’m happy to recommend them for auto care.

I always have a really good experience with the employees and service here. Ive been going to them for 10 years and had them service all 3 of my cars. They are direct with me as I am with them and dont try to sell me anything I dont need. Mike is absolutely great, super friendly, great customer service. Recommended always.

Every time I come here, a few weeks later something is wrong with my car. I won’t deny that they have amazing prices but I think something fishy is going on. I got my oil changed and a few days later, my battery goes out and then my breaks a week later. My husband took his Jeep here a few months back and they completely screwed up his alignment when rotating the tires and gave his Jeep death wobble. You get what you pay for I guess.

Kudos to this shop- this is really the first time I have had my car repaired and didnt feel like someone was pulling something over on me. Mike, the manager at this location, offers nothing but the best customer service. He had a little hiccup with a part being delivered on-time- not his fault- and went above and beyond to take care of the situation, calling me several times telling when the part arrived and offering to fix the same day. Ill be coming back here for every repair going forward.

My car overheated just before they closed. The employees were super helpful and was able to make a prelimanary diagnosis. I left the car overnight and they provided a detailed explanation the next morning. My car was fixed by end of day and they spoke to me like a customer and didnt treat me differently because I was a female. They were amazing. The supervisor (forgot his name but there were 2 of them with the same name) that is amazing.

The South Gilbert Sun Devil Auto Repair is great. I had a evap system leak and even though it took several trips to find and correct the problem, they never tried to change this part or that part to find the problem, for which I am grateful. One charge for the several trips. Great warranty program. Very honest.

I took my sons car here for check engine light which I was told was free. After pulling the code I was told I needed to pay 115 to have it looked at because the code was for emmisions. I advised the gentleman that I would take it to an emmisions specialist. He assured me he could diagnose and repair car so I gave him the go ahead. After looking at the car he said i needed to replace every component of the coverter. 2700 bucks. Also since there was rust present it could cost an additional 500 to 700 bucks. Tech would be finish in about 5 hours but unforeseen issues could make repairs take a week. Needless to say I passed. SDA told me they could do repair then gave me a 5 hour to 7 day time lime and a 2700 to 3400 price gap. Took the car to emmsions shop 887 bucks out the door in 2 days.

Brought my 02 venture in for some routine service and the guys went above and beyond and had great communication.After I took my vehicle back to work I noticed the overflow tank for my coolant was empty, I had gotten a coolant flush. It was after hours and I had an hour drive so I had to buy some coolant to top it off. I called Mike the next morning and he made things right.Thanks for the great experience. Ill be coming back for sure.

Bait and switch. Really wanted to like these guys since they are our neighborhood shop...Update ------I dont drive this car very often. A few weeks ago I found a part in my garage under my car. I took it to your shop and asked them what it was. They said they didnt know and have to put the Car on the lift. They figured where it came from and offered to install it for free. I told the manager if they had removed the part to work on my transmission or motor mounts. They said no. I told them in that case I dont want them to install it. I took the Car and part to my mechanic. He took one look at the part and told me exactly what it was and where it went. I asked him if it has to be removed to work on transmission, he didnt know I had worked done on transmission. He assured me no work can be done on transmission without removing it. I went back to sun devil auto and confronted the manager. This time he was not so sure if they had removed it or not and told me he needs to talk to transmission shop manager. By now I was pretty much done with all these stories and left. Yes work was done in 2014 but I have driven this car 6000 miles since you guys worked on it.So $3400 for transmission and motor mounts job and this kind of customer services how do you expect to stay in business!

I had the transmission replaced on my 2015 Nisson Versa at Sun Devil where they had raised the hood to make the transmission replacement. After I got the car back I had no need to open the hood. When I finally tried to check the oil I found I was unable to raise the hood. I decided to wait a couple more weeks before addressing the issue.When I finally took it back to Sun Devil I brought up the new transmission and the hood not opening. I got what appeared to be a practiced speech about the heat and hoods of Arizona. It cost me over $300.00 to get the latch replaced. I have always been happy with Sun Devil. This time not so much.

I dont really have the words to express our gratitude to Sun Devil Auto. We have used them for years on all the small car repairs, but they showed their colors when it came to a big one. We have a 9 year old Honda Civic with over 150,000 mile which was over heating. Towed into their shop, and the worse was diagnosed: a cracked engine block. Sun Devil Auto could have easily charged us the $3000 repair, but instead, took the time to do a little research. Hard to believe, BUT it turns out there was a recall on this year car through Honda, essentially replacing the block- without charge. Sun Devil Auto could have easily charged us and walked away with the profit, but did not. They did the right thing, helped us organize the tow to the dealership, and 2 days later was have our car back with basically a new engine- without charge through Honda. This speaks volumes about both their integrity and commitment to customer service. Thank you Mike and Eric at Sun Devil for taking the time to do the right thing. You have a customer for life. I just left there 15 minutes ago and Im still smiling at how well I was taken care of! I had just driven by their shop on my way home and heard this crazy loud thump and banging noise as I drove. I pulled over and saw that the cover to my under carriage had fallen down and was dragging on the road. I called Sun devil and Mike who has always been so awesome said to come right over which I did, they fixed it in 10 minutes with no charge.I have taken my Volvo in several times for repairs and have always been treated with excellent customer service and obviously today was no different. You guys rock, Im so grateful!

Just moved in from out of town and the skid guard on my Outback was completely dislodged and dragging on the ground.... my automotive prowess decided that duct tape was the most logical temporary solution. Dropped it off on a busy Saturday morning and they called me within 15 minutes with a diagnosis and had it fixed only 30 minutes later! Mike was as nice as could be both on and off the phone and their efficiency in taking care of my problem was above par compared to EVERY mechanic Ive encountered. Lastly, I guess its only fair to note the small fact that, oh, I dunno, they didnt charge me a dime. (!!!) If thats their way of making someone feel welcomed to the neighborhood, it worked in spades! Will definitely return!
