Had the pleasure of doing business yesterday with Gold Exchange on N. Pleasantburg Dr. next to Krispy Kreme. It was the first time for me doing anything like this. I had seen TV ads over the years and read the reviews from reputable people and I was not disappointed. It is a family owned business and I felt so comfortable and confident dealing with them. My husband was with me but I have to say I would not have been the least bit worried to have been there alone. If you have any gold that you want to sell this is definitely the place to go. I did the research first, visited other shops, spent time on the internet, had a very good idea what my old coins were worth. Walked out with more money than I had expected! Professional, courteous, no pressure and as much free information as you could want. I cannot recommend highly enough, Gold Exchange was perfect!

Called around to a couple other gold buyers and it was like buying a used car. I had 54.2 grams of 14K necklaces (3). I had already purchased a test kit and knew the purity was in the accepted range for 14k. So the question was a simple one - what will you pay me per gram or in total. A quick google search gave the spot price for scrap 14k at 37.02 per gram. I knew from research that many gold dealers will pay as little as possible - sometimes as little as 50% of the spot price. I had one dealer offer me $1000 and when I said no and began to hang up he said he could go as high as $1300. Still a no on my part. Finally called the Gold Exchange and said if my gold tested to 14K and was indeed 54.2 grams what would they pay? Answer, approximately $1600. Why thank you. So after arrival and a quick weight and purity check I was paid $1620 in cash. If you do the math thats 80.7% of the scrap value for 14k which I learned is never actually 14k but slightly under and close enough to be stamped as 14k by law. Research will tell you that 80% of spot value is on the upper end of what you can expect to get for 14k jewelry and that includes online buyers. I would recommend the Gold Exchange for their honesty and ability to cut through all the noise and deliver a very competitive price for gold purchases.

I recently decided to take a few pieces of gold jewelry that I owned to see how much the pieces were worth. I read the reviews for Gold Exchange and decided to call them first. I spoke with the nicest man on the phone when I called. At that point, I knew that I was not going to call anywhere else. Shortly thereafter, I went to the store. I was greeted by two gentlemen as soon as I walked in the door. I had never sold any gold jewelry before and to be honest, I didnt even know if one piece was real. They were awesome! I did receive top dollar for the piece that I sold and the process was so easy. I never felt uncomfortable or uneasy....like I was pawning something because I was broke....as I have done and felt before. They were very welcoming and very easy to talk with.
