Have known the owner for quite a few years business-wise. Always pleasant, friendly, and accommodating. A few months back was the 1st time I ever needed a storage unit and decided to go see Bobby. The most amazing guy ever, not too mention the cleanest place you can ever ask for.

I cannot recommend enough of this storage: great service at a reasonable price! The manager Bobby is really nice and professional.Once I didnt lock my unit properly, he contact me several times to make sure I have someone come over to relock it (I was abroad then). Definitely will come back in the future!

Just gave up our space after 4 years since our daughter just graduated and no longer need it. Bobby has been here every single time we’ve brought stuff in or taken stuff out of the storage and he was always very friendly and helpful.

The hours are horrible; no 24/7 access available. Forget about accessing your unit before or after work! The whole facility is locked up every night so I feel like my belongings are secure. The staff is nice and the price is the best in the immediate area. Its easy to get to right on Dixwell Ave. Its not the poshest place but if you book online, staff shows you your unit and there is a lock and a Welcome note inside your unit. 4 stars because there are no night hours and they close at 4 pm on Sunday Its not climate controlled but its an excellent space if you dont have a garage and you need to get rid of stuff.

Im not happy with the hours. They close at 6pm during the week and 4pm on Sundays. These places should be 24 hours and the advertisement is misleading because they have a mandatory $12 fee no matter what unit you rent. The lowest price unit is so bad its embarrassing that a business would offer something like that. I would not put anything I value in that unit. Im concerned about the flimsy locking mechanism on the storage units. Seriously they can be popped with a #2 pencil. The carts are so hard to push. They are slightly above unusable. Im leaving after my month is over. 2 stars because the staff is nice and they will work with you if you have a problem with the unit.

This was the second time we used this Life Storage to store my daughters college essentials for the summer. The staff was very friendly each time, for both checking in and checking out. The rental process is easy. The storage is clean for the price. They have storage needs available for purchase, including locks and boxes if needed.It isnt climate controlled and it is not as clean as some other places, but at half the cost, I was very pleased with it.

The storage facility and unit are really clean, the staff are genuinely friendly and helpful and the prices were reasonable but in the past few months there has been a price increase that was too much too fast and seriously unrealistic (especially now when so many people are going through difficult times.) I would easily have given 5 stars if the price for the unit I wanted had not increased by $31.

Amazing employees in the front office!! They make sure to keep the customer up to date on all on changes and are amazing quick with removing the lock if you Miss a payment!! I would recommend this establishment to any of my friends, actually I have!!

Good for the price and for what I was putting in it, unit is clean, a little spooky where my unit is so I suggest getting a unit closer to the front of the building where it seems newer. Staff was helpful

We FedExd large boxes and luggage pieces from California to this LifeStorage location (1315 Dixwell Ave) a few months ahead of our move. The staff here was extremely nice and still run it with a family-owned feel. They so kindly received all our packages (some of them piecemeal), and stored them inside for us and locked the unit, which was incredibly kind of them as it is not there obligation. Mrs. Fozia Shah is amazing, and was so kind and helpful when we finally moved here and helped us collect our items. We highly recommend this storage space and everyone who works here.

Upon learning some furniture would not fit into the new apartment in the middle of the move, we contacted Life Storage. Within three hours, I had keys to a large unit that comfortably fit all of my surplus stuff. The staff was so understanding and acted quickly so that we could redirect movers. The unit itself is accessible and very affordable. Thanks so much to the team at Life Storage!

I have been storing with Life Storage (formerly Dixwell Storage) for approximately 5 years. The staff is courteous and helpful on the phone and in person. I have never had an issue with my storage unit being broken into, vandalized, flooded, etc. I have been pleased with the service. My only qualm is the rate increase and late fee imposition and increase since the original company has come to be known as Life Storage. I would recommend this business for both your short term and long term storage needs.

Of the three other self storage location in Hamden, this was the best. Manager was friendly and helpfull in setting up an arrangement to rent a 10 X10 unit. It was also the least expensive of the three other self storage outfits. We are down-sizing & selling our house and moving into a condo.

Twice in a pinch I was able to use life storage! The best part is it’s pretty affordable compared to everything around it! The staff is great and knowledgeable. This is just one load of donations.

Inconvenient hours. Entrance door was locked 30 minutes before closing. Spent 20 minutes asking them to open it. Manager Bobby was rude and dismissive. Finally opened the door at 3:55pm.

This is the place for sure. The owner is pleasant, kind hearted knows how to talk to as well as explain anything. Ive been here for many years never had a problem. GREAT PLACE FOR STORAGE!!!!

I would most certainly recommend this place. They were exceptional with their customer service mannerisms and very kind and helpful with all of my questions. The process was easy and stress free and I was able to move in same day because of Rory! I even got $25 off and a free month of storage. Life Storage made a great impression on me and will continue to do business with them as needed.

The staff is very helpful and the storage rent is very affordable. The only draw back is the fact they close at 6pm. This makes it very difficult for me as a event planner to return material used for events after the event is closed. I would love to continue renting from them but I know I’ll eventually have to find a place that has a little more flexibility with hours. If the hours isn’t a big factor and you are planning to just store things there for long term and without use, this is the spot to go!

This place has the best prices of Barbie storage units in the area. The only drawback is the hours and kind of short. They close rather early at 6 during the week + 5 + weekend. If you can handle the hours the prices are phenomenal
