Nice coffee shop to get a Cup o Joe and do some work, read a book, or people watch.
Coffee is amazing and very smooth espresso. My favorite coffee shop in Harrisonburg for sure.
Super friendly staff and adorable shop.
Better coffee than Black Sheep! Not a ton of seating though.
🎉 Wifi is fast, lots of seating available, and solid coffee options to get some work done. Pick up a coffee loyalty card - buy 9 and the 10th drink is on Joe.☕️ Double espresso was pretty good.🚪Next door to Benny Sorrentinos Pizza if youre feeling hungry.⚠️ Dont have a cortado with soy milk, unless you like it curdled.
Love the friendly, personal feel to this place.Comfortable, relaxed environment to enjoy coffee.Visited on a few occasions, always find the service is fantastic.Baristas willing to explain the options in a way that doesnt make the customer feel dumb. And the coffee...great varieties and fair prices. The coffee has excellent flavor, not some watered down, tan colored liquid, that is sometimes found at the big coffee chains (DD, Ps, ☆🦌s).For a bonus, nice well maintained bathrooms.
One of the best coffee shops in town.
Really good coffee, great vibe
Best coffee in the area
One of the best coffee shops in downtown Harrisonburg! Hannah, one of the baristas, is super friendly and makes you feel right at home! Their coffee is out of this world, and they offer both indoor and outdoor seating, making it the ideal place to get work done. Whether youre grabbing it to go or sitting down for a while, you wont wanna miss out on the incredible coffee this place has to offer.
Terrific coffee and service. Very nice team there and I kept going back, as they opened up nice and early.
Shenandoah Joe is one of the best coffee shops in the Valley! The latte I had was appetising to both the eyes and my caffeine-loving stomach. The shop itself is also incredibly casual. It feels like youre in a very comfortable living room that we college kids feel well never be able to afford. The staff is also incredibly friendly!
Great assortment of beans, nice indoor and outdoor atmosphere. Great stop while visiting JMU.
Great espresso drinks, (latte art is always a good sign), with kind and quality staff. Best local coffee experience we have found.
Nice place to chill at...
What a great spot with a hipster vibe. I had a really good cappuccino and accompanied it with equally good zucchini bread. It has a “come and sit a while” atmosphere, so my friend and I did! There’s not a lot of outdoor seating but there’s plenty of room inside for small or larger size groups. I’ll definitely return.
Staff was nice and helpful on referring coffee. Loved what was recommended. Charming place! Could sit there all day and read a book.
Very solid coffee shop if youre into specific roasts and good espresso. No real food beyond basic pastries .
Stood in line and met a nice gentleman named Gabriel. As we neared the counter he offered to purchase my cappuccino. What a nice surprise, and a random act of kindness. I agreed and enjoyed the unexpected gift. Such great people in this friendly city.
You really have to know what to order, or its mostly a flavorless milk drink. I would ask their opinions and try to get assistance on how to order. The pictures online is why we went, but not what I got. Again, that couldve been bc of bad ordering. I got a regular Latte.
Shenandoah Joe Harrisonburg is a wonderful coffee shop. Their staff, specifically Hannah and Jessie, are so friendly and always happy to chat about your day and coffee! The coffee is delicious and I always look forward to running over there for a coffee break!
Great nook for studying and working. Home-roasted beans at half the price of any other roaster coffee shop Ive been to! Best yet, I could drink the coffee black, as usual, and it carries a full-bodied, smooth flavor with no bitter aftertaste. Win all around!
Excellent coffee and staff. Get the Chemex, its 2 cups!
Outstanding coffee! A NYC daughter is trying to make me into an amateur coffee snob. Ive got a way to go, but can say that Shenandoah Joes coffee uses higher quality beans than in other local coffee shop. Plus, the staff must have been properly trained in using their coffee equipment. If you think coffee has to have cream and sugar to be drinkable, give this place a try or try using less than usual.
Great service. Dog friendly
Pros: Nice location to downtown Harrisonburg. Good drinks and wonderful atmosphere.Cons: not a lot of parking on-site, may have to park across the street or elsewhere downtown; but that may not be much of an issue since most people walk around downtown. There isn’t a changing table in the restroom; I had to change my baby on the floor in the middle of the coffee shop, which honestly makes me less inclined to visit because it’s not as accessible of a space for my family’s needs.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff, good coffee. Nothing else to ask in a coffee shop. Oh but if youre a tea drinker, you can get a whole pot for like three dollars.
The dark roasted coffee is awesome.
Super friendly staff, delicious coffee - great place to study, catch up with a friend, or have a meeting.
We had chai lattes and they were great, but they didnt have much at all for food.
Great coffee and a great staff! They are extremely helpful when you are on the fence about what you want to get and additional things you can do to make your favorite drink even better. This is also a great location to go for a quite place to work or to have a business and/or group meeting without the hustle and bustle and loud noises that you will get at a Starbucks. Another plus is the coffee, service and pricing is also better than Starbucks and its a locally owned business.
A great little coffee shop. The drinks are good, the atmosphere is artsy and comfortable, and the staff are friendly. Id really recommend it as a place to study with some background noise or to enjoy a morning of people-watching and caffeine.
Love the staff and coffee. Hannah goes above and beyond to be friendly and accommodating!! 🙂
Great coffee. Great service and atmosphere. ❤
Went into this place for the first time about a week ago....loved the atmosphere and barista was super friendly/helpful. She suggested all their best sellers and made me a white chocolate mocha that was absolutely amazing! Awesome hangout for college students needing a boost or place to study in peace.
Great staff attitude and nice place overall
Excellent customer service! Friendly relaxed atmosphere but seriously delicious smooth coffee. We also get it ground and enjoy it at home. Definitely the best coffee and shop in Harrisonburg!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Good coffee. A nice array of seating options, but I dont find this the best coffee shop to cozy up and do some work. I found the constant coffee grinding to be rather loud and distracting. I also wish they had more food options.
Good coffee, good vibes, but watch out for parking! Had a meeting here that went a little late, and walked outside to find a parking ticket! If you park in street parking, go ahead and set a timer on your phone for the time allotment 😑
Great coffee and even better service!
Great, local coffee. Easy to get to, we enjoyed stopping on our way thru Harrisonburg. Friendly and polite staff
Great atmosphere and employees were engaging.Eclectic collection of drinks.Sandwiches were fantastic.Attitude was contagious to other customers, too.
Close enough to I-81. Local. Very friendly service. Good selection. Fresh brewed and pour over and espresso. Worth the short drive.
Best coffee in town. Great atmosphere and drinks. Always seem glad to serve you their wonderful coffee.
Great coffee, good atmosphere, reliable WiFi, friendly staff. 👍
Lovely open coffee shop. Great brews, comfortable space. Definitely some coffee artists working there too.
Open atmosphere with a vast selection of coffee and teas. Tried an aged Earl Grey tea and an Ethiopian Sidamo pour over and was quite pleased. Their bergamot was very well balanced in their tea, and their Ethiopian single origin was robust with a hint of blueberry and a bagel aroma. Their staff were friendly and knowledgeable and eager to serve.
This place is definitely the place to be with their ultra hip layout, and it is always full of people! They have a pretty typical menu for a coffee shop.
This is what a coffee shop should be. Great service, great atmosphere and a great cup of coffee.Skip the chain coffee places and get your buzz on here!
I see people every morning come and get their coffee from this place. Often I see the same people over and over walking in with an empty coffee cup or travel mug to fill up. I figure this place is pretty good if it can get this type of customer loyalty.I bought some plain coffee from them a few times. I feel like coffee is either good or its not. You know the difference when you try it and theres not really much more of a scale to it than that. I also think McDonalds coffee (if you go during peak hours) is good too. Its half the price... Just sayin. If I were doing a blind taste test though I imagine Id probably choose Shenandoah Joes as the better of the two.
Friendly staff and a wonderful atmosphere in which to visit, relax, or study. And the coffee is great! :)
Very friendly staff. Coffee and pastries are amazing!
Like coffee? Dont miss this place. Friendly service.
Very cool place to grab coffee. Nice selection of beans, relaxed atmosphere, very fair prices.
The dirty Chai was delicious and beautifully poured(looked just like a Hanukkah candle)! Friendly service too. I highly recommend it.
Amazing coffee, amazing service and great for doing work. super inexpensive too! only 3 bucks for a big americano. overall, if you are in the harrisonburg area, definitely check this place out!
Nice coffee shop. Checked this place out on our Massanutten trip. Husband loves his and this place was up to par. I had an iced Chai.. super good, sweet. Must come!
The Cold Brew is excellent!
Pros: good tasting coffeeCons: no baby changing table in the bathrooms
Great coffee, solid service and a warm and cozy atmosphere made for a good experience! Likely to return.
Great coffee. Feels like I am bothering the staff by ordering though. A smile wouldnt hurt when a customer walks in
Sweet little shop, stay there and have ur coffee in a real mug, staff is personable and friendly, menu is not Starbucks, live a little.
Inexpensive coffee with Wi-Fi and friendly staff...
Cozy place, relaxed atmosphere, yummy coffee. Its the perfect place to visit with friends and study the day away.
Excellent espresso. Friendly staff. Very welcoming.
Good coffee, friendly staff
Wonderful, delicious coffee and cozy environment.
Excellent service, phenomenal coffee! Shen Joes is a favorite spot for my coffee-fanatic-friends and me, as we all agree that they hands-down serve the best (and the cheapest) coffee in the Burg. The café is unique with its modern industrial design embellished with pieces from local artists; the atmosphere provides its guests with an interesting, always-moving scene that is located on the edge of a charming downtown.
Great coffee, but limited food options
Great coffee, friendly staff, and the ambience is the perfect coffee shop archetype.
Really good coffee! Best around so far
Always great. Great coffee, great beans, great baristas, great vibe. I visit multiple times a week.
If you want to know what origin your coffee is, if you like latte art, if you like a well crafted cup of joe, or if you like a good place to study with a nice view of historical buildings in Harrisonburg, this is your place. I highly recommend Shenandoah Joe.
Great atmosphere, great coffee, great seats, what else do you need in a coffee shop?
Great spot with free WiFi and great donuts to compliment its great coffee
Comfortable modern coffee shop with Exquisite lattes.
Good coffee, comfortable place to relax and have a conversation.
Very nice coffee shop in downtown
Great coffee. Ceramic cups. WiFi outside a bit weak.
My favorite coffee shop in Harrisonburg! They are so friendly!
The best medium roast in town. Thank you all.
Delicious coffee if you want coffee better than Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts...like way better.
Great coffee and great atmosphere. I would highly recommend the macchiato.
Good coffe roasted right over the mountain.
Im a coffee snob.. and I find many of the coffee places in Harrisonburg to be boring, but this place is really good.
Good cup of coffee for a reasonable price and friendly service.
