The barista did a great job and helped me understand the menu and help me choose the perfect smoothie for me!The vibes here tho.....so chill yet productive. So casual yet professional. So artsy yet so industrial.I love it.

Went through the drive through here one morning and heads up if you want a cinnamon roll.... THEY ARE HUGE! Coffee and Chai latte were both great. Our burritos were very filling too.

I am from the South (USA) and use to eating soul food. I must say that this food is tasty one of the best places I have eaten in Helena thus far. The staff is friendly. I highly recommend eating here, try the brisket, the sausage burrito, the smoothie, the coffee and the hot chocolate. I did breakfast and lunch in the same day and loved both.

The staff was absolutely amazing and the line in the drive thru moved quickly. I got a breakfast burrito and it was so soaked in grease that it dripped until it made almost a soup in my plate! It did still taste good, Ill just have to try something else when I return.

I love their coffee and tea, but the food is EXCELLENT. The sandwiches are so delicious and I really appreciate that they offer gluten free bread and some gluten free baked goods daily. Service has always been good and the food/drinks are always top notch.

Coffee is excellent. But whoever the girl at the drivethru is does nothing but destroy the 1889 brand. Zero interest in being friendly. Girl working morning of 8/21/2021. This is the best coffeeshop in Helena. They have great coffee, are cheaper than most places in town and have OUTSTANDING customer service. The owner is usually around, working just as hard as any other employee and making sure your service is exceptional and you feel welcomed. With everywhere in Montana growing, this coffeeshop still has the small town vibes that make Montana such a special place :)

Best coffee weve had in Montana. Maybe even ever. However, were from Portland, which has a huge coffee following. This is an exceptional compliment because weve probably went to a bazillion coffee shops.

1889 has THE BEST coffee and customer service in Helena. I frequent the store almost daily before work and it’s only a couple blocks away from where I live. I was given the wrong sandwich and call the store and they quickly did what they could to make it right! I’m not a very picky person so it wasn’t even a big deal (: I love supporting local businesses and it’s a plus they are so delicious!

This place is the worst to order door dash from. They make the dashers wait forever. You would think that since we are delivering for them we would be a priority. Not in an establishment like this I highly suggest not to order your doordash from this place!!

So originally I was upset due to my order being wrong. One burrito had peppers and the person it was for has a highly allergic reaction to peppers so could not eat it. But when i called to explain the situation they were quick to correct it and delivered it to us with no charge. I appreciate you guys for fixing this and doing it without any negativity. Food was amazing once we had the chance to eat jt. Thank you!

Since moving to town I’ve very much enjoyed going to this location. They have my favorite flavors (which is a hit and miss to find at coffee shops) and the staff is awesome. I’ve become a regular, and though I already have a favorite coffee shop in town, everything about them including the hours makes it a close second!

Very friendly and convenient when staying at Jorgensen Inn and Suites. Good roast that doesnt have the burnt profile that Charbux has. Really like the Nitro brew. It also has a very nice interior area if not using the drive-thru.

I love this place, drinks can be a bit pri y but what coffeehouse isnt am I right. Food is reasonably priced. They have crushed ice for their drinks and their chicken wild rice soup is VERY GOOD! Once again I love this place! Oh and try the fried bologna sandwich w/ fries egg..mmmmmm good

Ashley and Brett and the best. Amazing people, I always recommend them to people for coffee, and breakfast sandwiches. And I LOVE their coffee chocolate chip glacier frappe. So good!!!

Nice ambiance. Good coffee. Good service. One thing that sets this coffee house apart is the upstairs seating area with great views of the surrounding mountains. Comfortable chairs and lounging area, fireplaces, etc.I also love their chicken rice soup which is available daily.Update: weve been back several times and really enjoy it. Today we had their breakfast burrito, veggie version with spinach and it was delicious! And FAST service. By the time we paid and got our coffee, the burritos were ready! Highly recommend this coffee shop! (Firetower is still our favorite (they roast their own beans), but 1889 is a very close second!

Worst dried out bread ever. We couldnt even eat our sandwiches as the bread was super dried out. As if they had frozen it then thawed it out. I complained to a bearded employee and he gave all kinds of excuses. He could have refunded us for the two sandwiches but he didnt offer. He saw we didnt eat 3/4 of the sandwiches. Wish I didnt tip $5.Also I ordered a small frappe and it cost $3.95, yet I was charged $4.25. Why? I tipped $1.00 which should of came to $4.25 not $5.25. My bank shows an extra dollar was added to my bill. Why?

When this establishment first opened it was amazing. Great service, great coffee.Now, the coffee is watery and flavorless and the service is uninviting and half-hearted.Today was the worst. I went through the line, ordered a Vanilla Latte with an extra shot, a cinnamon roll, and a cup of chicken wild rice soup. Adds up to $15.15, I give the person my filled coffee card, that should take off the cost of the coffee. The person swipes my card, then looks at the coffee card and realizes its full, they start a new one for me and hand it to me, keeping the old one. I went home and checked the balance. I was charged $18.18, not only did she steal my coffee card, she gave her self a $3 tip. I never got a receipt and I never entered my pin or signed for anything.Edit: Contacted the manager, he got everything squared away, so at least theres that. Bumping up rating to a 3 star

It’s very busy but we had a good breakfast and experience. Never had a caramel macchiato, it was delicious! The ham and eggs breakfast burrito was good, too. Couldn’t find a Denny’s or IHOP so we just stopped here.

Neat place, good coffee. The BLT would have been excellent, but sadly all I could taste with each bite was a gob of mustard and mayo. I would have taken the side with the condiments off, but it was slathered on both sides. And maybe I have been eating BLTs wrong my whole life, but I am not of the belief that mustard belongs on a BLT. This sandwich did not change my mind about that. Good place, I wont hold the mustard sandwich against them.

Delicious! I would definitely recommend. Me and my mom went to a meeting there and the food was great. Good place for all ages, though it is better for teens and adults. It is kept clean and the seating is 6 feet apart from other groups. It has a cozy feel to it and is a great place to sit and enjoy some food, or maybe do some school work. I hope you choose to check it out, because I guarentee that you will find something to enjoy.

Simply tenderly whipped coffee with a touch of creamy silky caramel, with just a tad of whipped cream and the lightest hint of cinnamon overall the coffee was great the employees were great also the service was gr- AWSOME... and when we picked up the coffee we went to a picnic with our family and Bullmans pizza was there best COMBO

Their coffee is great, their breakfast burritos and sandwiches are delicious, but their pastries are a little lacking. The turnovers are super dry, not enough filling and the pumpkin bar I had last time was a little dry too. Everything else Ive had there has been fantastic though and the staff is very friendly.

Food and coffee were good. Stood first in line for nearly 5 minutes before being greeted and helped. They did apologize, just saw several staff around. A hello, be right with you would have been nice. I nearly walked out even though I had a take out order there.

I just drank the best latte Ive ever had! Perfect amount of foam and the perfect consistency. All other lattes are sewage compared to the one I just drank!

I love this place so much! I work from home 50% of the time for my job, and Ive made 1889 my office away from home. The employees are always kind, happy, and fast. The coffee is great. The inside is always very clean. And I work out just so I can eat their absolutely amazing muffins!

It seems as if 1889 Coffee House just opened, but it has become a popular Coffee shop for Carroll College students, business get-togethers, and gstherings for friends. One will find chairs to study and spend time on computer work. Yummy food offerings along with the variety of coffee are offered. This is funny thing to say, as I dont drink coffee, but I do enjoy going to join friends over a drink and lively conversation. The 1889 Coffee House is open to local intertainment and supports local clubs and teams!!! Its a good friendly place to go.

I was having a sweet tooth craving so I swung in and decided on a cinnamon roll, kinda expecting a Cinnabon-ish roll, and I got a cinnamon roll that looked like it eats Cinnabon for breakfast! It’s beautiful, gooey, chewy, warm, amazing and humongous!! It was quick and the staff was super friendly as well.Very happy sweet tooth, thank you!

I have given these folks several chances as I work in a industry where I can’t leave the office and they deliever. The food is not good, neither is the coffee or even the soda for that matter. My child hates it since there is never any carbonation. Burnt coffee bad food👍

Absolutely marvelous! Last meal before braces and it was amazing. I had the hot pastrami sandwich and I felt like I was having pastrami and pickles straight from the New York delis. If you are trying to decide where to go to lunch, go here. Best sandwich ever. Great coffee too. They also have soups, salads, and tons of sweet treats. GO HERE!!

WOW. Totally unexpected. Open, airy, clean store. Surprisingly adept staff, but the coffee suffered. Their roaster, in Bozeman, leaves me a little short on flavor. Nice ambience though.

Got shafted at McDonalds an ended up finding this gem. 1889 not only has fast all day breakfast but good coffee will be back again!

A terrible experience with the owner and his daughter. NOT a friendly hometown Helena place. We support all local businesses and had frequented this one until now. The last 3 visits in a row, about $75 spent for very pricey products, the orders were not complete and not made the way we requested. WARNING: The customer service is awful, they screw up your order and when told about it you are treated rudely and like a criminal. I would not recommend this place.

Its the over-priced $8 dry sandwiches on Wonder Bread and the coffee that tastes like instant for me.

The 1889 Coffee house is one of my favorite places to be when I’m in town. I have never had a food order that I didn’t enjoy. The coffee, brewed in-house or at home, is never bitter and can be drank black without an aftertaste. The environment is modern and clean yet warm and comfortable. Brett and his family are active supporters of the Helena community. And, it is the only gluten-free drive-through in town.

Had such an amazing experience. Went on a Saturday at noon. The owner was going around greeting everyone. All the staff and the owner were incredibly personable and friendly. The food was great, I got a wrap and the owner came over and said i had to try their pickles with the wrap. He was correct, they have amazing pickles! My iced vanilla soy milk latte was incredible as well. All in all a great experience these people made my day even greater. Thanks all of you!!

I love it!! All of the staff are wonderful and helpful. The owner is always saying hello and is such a friendly person! The coffee is fantastic, and the food is delicious. I go here almost every day and I have never been disappointed. Bravo!

Outstanding breakfast burritos! Had the biscuits and gravy burrito, what a surprise. Guy taking my order said get there bacon burrito with new bacon supplier and boy was he right, best bacon ever. Latte was perfect. Thank you all, made us feel genuinely welcome.
