My morning started with a road trip to the beach on a Friday morning to visit my father on his 75th birthday tomorrow. One mile into the trip, my alternator failed. Autoworx was the only place that I called that was willing to help. I was really impressed by how everyone that worked there was so friendly and really wanted to help me see my dad. On the way home to repack the truck, my belt broke and I was close enough to the shop that they had me come right back in and took care of it immediately even though it was so close to closing time. Additionally one of the mechanics is getting married tomorrow morning, the same day as my dads birthday. I write this from Myrtle Beach, sitting next to dad, and we are both so grateful for this team and their good will.
We have gone to Autoworx for 15+ years. While we may not have always ‘liked’ that we needed to have work done on our cars (who does?), we have always been satisfied with the outcome. We drive Toyotas, keep them forever and, true to the brand, we have had very few mechanical issues. We go here for routine maintenance, tires and the very occasional repair. Always good service. We find John to be honest and willing to work with us in whatever way we need.We have recommended many times over.
My husbands truck was having a issue which we thought was the alignment, weve had it at other shops who never saw the actual problem. Im so thankful for Autoworx and their team for finding the real issues, thank you to the mechanics !! Awesome place and our new place to fix our families vehicles. To top it off the staff is friendly and price for work, perfect !! Thank you to everyone at Autoworx s!!
While I was fine with the attitude of everybody. I just feel a little burned. I way overspent for a remanufacted hybrid battery that seemed like it was a few hundred dollars less that the Manufacturers replacement which may have been new. I was assuming at $3000+ it would have been new.. The folks that Autoworx got the battery from will sell it and install it for you or me for just over half of what I was charged . I agreed to the price initially but had no idea that there would have been an 82% markup over cost. That is business. I dont have a problem with folks making a fair margin but I think this could have been more reasonable. Just FYI if you need a hybrid battery replacement do your research.
I have been taking my vehicle to Autoworx on the advice of friends ever since I moved to Hendersonville 6 years ago. All work was done expertly. My 2000 4Runner with over 322,000 miles is running great, thanks to John and his great crew at Autoworx. I highly recommend Autoworx for expert and knowledgeable car repair.
Ive been to my share of auto repair shops, and for the first time in my life I know that I found my final one when I started going to Autoworx a while back. Very pleased and grateful for all yall have done for me, John. Just wanted to say it! Barb
Very professional team that worked until the mystery was solved. An older car that runs terrific now.
This is my second time using Autowoxs and will not be the last. John and his team are topnotch. He called me with a detailed breakdown of the work that needed to be done as well as a detailed price breakdown. My family has found our new auto repair shop and I will recommend to anyone who asks.
Ive had nothing but a great experience at this place so far. The people there are knowledgeable and friendly. Keep up the great work!
Service was performed quickly at a reasonable price.John was helpful, friendly and professional.
After much thought, I feel compelled to write this review. I have used this place a couple of times. I felt like I was ripped off the first time I went in for a tune up on a 2005 jeep liberty. Cost for replacing spark plugs $301.29 Here they up sold me on a $50 gas cap. Second time, one ignition coil replaced for $166.28. Recently, out of desperation because it is close to my home, I went in and asked them to work on the front end ball joints. Of course, they had to do a diagnostics before giving me a price quote. After leaving the vehicle overnight I was quoted over $1500. Mind you, the Jeep dealer quoted me almost half of that! Yes, dealerships which are notoriously more expensive seemed like a bargain. I told John, the owner about the quote and asked him why so much? and he said, with a straight face, that the cost was even including a discount because it was an eight hour job and he was taking a couple of hours off of labor cost. I guess that was supposed to make me thank him? So, I ended up paying for the diagnostics anyway, ugh... They had to get money out of me somehow I guess... took my vehicle home. Ill change my review if its not accurate because the owner will reply and try to justify his inflated prices and mediocre service.
So heres the thing - Ive had success with oil changes and an inspection here. But today was not included in those experiences. I feel like $53 is pretty steep for an oil change but then again inflation is a thing. First thing this morning when I dropped off my car, none of the workers were wearing masks. Same thing when I picked up my car. There were no social distancing measures in place. As well, when the guy called to let me know my car was ready, he tried TWICE to get me to add extra services. I understand thats a part of the job, but I told him I ONLY had the cash for the oil change the first time. The second time, I again reiterated that I was unable to afford anything other than the change, to which Tyler replied Oh Im not trying to pressure you or anything. I disagree. When I got home and looked at the services theyre recommending that were listed on my receipt, one of them was a new battery. Heres the thing though - I just got a brand new battery last week. This suggestion solidified the fact that they were trying to make me pay for services that are unnecessary. As a business minded person, I understand their position, but as a consumer, it irked me.
They offer a tow service which helped when my truck was broke down with a transmission problem. But that was also the best thing Id say about them. Without getting into details at this time, my vote would be a thumbs down.
I have had 3 vehicles aligned here and the work has been great.
Great service. Good work. Not inexpensive but well worth the peace of mind and good service. Repairs done right the first time.
Was the first appointment- work was done professionally.
I dropped my Toyota off on Sunday night with a list of issues I wanted addressed. The Autoworx team called me Monday afternoon telling me my car was fixed, and it was something they had installed previously under warranty, so there was no charge. They also provided me with list of upcoming issues Id need to address before the next inspection later in 2020, but nothing urgent. Very professional, courteous, and always willing to go the extra mile to accommodate their customers.
Great place for your auto needs
Had a noise checked out. Everything checked out. Good job and no issues.
Ive used the services at Autoworx for several years now. The staff and the service is exceptional. Ive never been disappointed. They are honest, they never try to upsale. They are dependable, helpful and friendly! I would recommend them to anyone!!!
John and his team is awesome. They have a very extensive shop. Great place to do business with.
My truck was repaired correctly, on time and at a fair price. Polite and professional.
Love those guys! They are there whenever Im in a pinch. Very good customer service and not a long wait to get my car serviced. Fair prices too!
I had a great experience with Autoworx! They found the problem and quickly repaired it in just a few days!
Spectacular affordable professional work. Fast and efficient techs. Great experience!
I would recommend Autoworx to anyone. The owner and staff are nice and very knowledgeable! They have always been right there to help my husband and I whenever we have an issue with our car. The services that need to be done are explained in an easy to understand manner and the prices are fair. The work is always top notch!
I believe I am in the best of hands at Autoworx. The owner and staff are not only thorough and competent, they are kind and understanding. I have consistently received excellent service.
Autoworx is the Best!!! I’ve been taking my cars to Autoworx for 25 years. The service is fabulous and the employees are very courteous and friendly.
My family has always owned Toyota’s. We have used Autoworks every since we discovered them. We wouldn’t think of using anyone else to service our Toyota’s. They’re honest, courteous and efficient! We highly recommend them!
Outstanding service and employees! Best shop around
I have been using this company for over 5 years. Their honesty and capability is over par. I recommend them to everyone
Quick efficient and friendly service! Least expensive state inspection service I’ve found in Hendersonville.
I have had nothing but great experiences with Autoworx. Take my car there for routine maintenance/repairs. Work they do is always at a fair price and they dont fix things without asking you. Great mechanics!
We have been taking out autos to Autoworx for many years and have not had any issues until this past week. We brought in an auto for the winter inspection and to check the breaks. Long story short we had to have work done that shouldnt have if they had not made a mistake 6 months earlier. They made it good and reimbursed us for parts we should not have had to pay for. We all make mistakes but the companies that care about their customers work hart to keep them as Autoworx has for me.
John and the group at Autoworx always courteous and professional and stand behind their work.
Ray helped me this morning with questions around a used car I am considering buying. I could not have asked for a better experience, Ray was friendly, personable, extremely helpful, and took time out of his busy morning to help me. These are the kind of folks to do business with. Thank you Autoworx!
Customer service is excellent! This is a place you can trust!
Autoworx is the best auto shop Ive ever been to. They were straightforward about the issues my car was having and were kind enough to let me know the issues that could reasonably be put off for the future. The men who run the shop are very honest and friendly individuals who truly seem to genuinely care about their customers. Hands down, Autoworx is the best mechanic shop in Hendersonville!
Always get the best service. They do a great job at reasonable prices. Very good with servicing Toyota’s.
Ive dealt with a lot of auto shops, dealer shops and garages, and Autoworx is as good as the very best of them... Having worked with tools my whole life I can tell when people like as well as know what they are doing, and these folks clearly do...We have an older Tundra and an older Honda, and Autoworx has done considerable work on both.... In every case they have communicated clearly and competently about the issues, have given good quotes, and have always been accurate in regards to what things will cost... If something additional turns up they let us know... When there was an issue with some work they did, they listened carefully, check it out, and remedied what was going on quickly and competently without any additional charges...They are also really nice people, caring and courteous, and actually fun to be around and engage with... I highly recommend them to anyone needing work done on their vehicle...
These fellas have taken great care of my wifes care for a number of years. Always perform the routine maintenance. I took my car to em a year or so ago for tune-up, timing belt change and other maintenance issues. They were great. Prompt, courteous and affordable. The run specials through the year also. Time for me to get checked out for the Winter.
Great work, done fast and affordable!!
I was new to Hendersonville a few months ago before I left to live in a place I was having made ready in another state. I thought Id support local businesses while here. My power steering pump seemed to be making an intermittent noise when making turns, so I thought Id have Autoworx look at it. Of course, the noise wouldnt happen when the owner looked at it but said my model of 4 Runner often had to have the power steering pump replaced, so assumed thats what it was. No computer diagnostic or any kind of examination before saying it was the pump.I was traveling at the time, so paid them a deposit to order the pump and used a rental to travel for the next week until it came in. When I returned I left it and waited for a phone call saying it was done. After 2 days, I called on Day 3 to get an idea of when I could pick it up. No return call from the front desk. Next day, I called again. He said hed check and call me back. No call again. At 4:30 pm I called again (Day 4) and the owner answered. He said he had gotten confused on when I needed the car back and another one came in that bumped mine, so he apologized for that decision. As for my calls not being returned he said, Thats between you and (name withheld). I cant speak for him. What? Since when does the owner of a company not take responsibility for the actions of an employee and leave it up to the customer to confront the individual employee on a work issue? Wow, I wish I had a job like that in my lifetime. I hoped at that point the work was done properly since I suppose it would be between the mechanic and myself if the work wasnt done right. With the time I spent there for this simple job, I noticed the people who seemed the happiest were the people who had no appointment, brought their car in that morning first thing and waited for it. One man said, as I waited at the counter one morning, said he would pick it up at 4:30 pm before they closed and that he worked very nearby. Everyone seemed to know him. He seemed to have the right idea that if you werent going to wait, this business needed clear goals and specific times stated in order to be sure you would have your car on time. Future customers may want to remember that. The work was done and pump seems to be doing well. However, it is not a genuine Toyota part (which I was not told it would not be one) since the name Toyota is not anywhere on the part and the letters are Chinese not Japanese. I also asked later at a dealer in Charlotte where I used to have work done, how much they charged to replace a power steering pump on my SUV and the price was within $50 for a genuine Toyota part.Nice, friendly people who appear to want to help you and do good work but scheduling and management issues can make working with them a real challenge, especially if you have a problem. And, the prices are no better than at a big city Dealership.
Nice, honest people that do good work.
Timely and efficient
The worst experience ever, had to spend three hrs. fixing there mistakes. tearable. The bottom hose clamps was half way put on. the top hose was not cut to fit in it support brace. they cracked the over flow tank had three day to fix it and did not charged me for a pressure test. phony charge.
Extremely prompt diagnosis. Finished the work a day ahead of estimated time. VERY knowledgable, professional and courteous!
They will waste your time and try to take advantage of you.I dropped off a fairly simple headlight problem, after diagnosis they determined they needed to replace all my headlights and that would require taking off my bumper and come out to over $200, for a 10 year old Jeep.Anyone, non-idiot, knows the bumper has nothing to do with the headlights and considering the issue was the relay behind the wheel, unless their job is to waste your time and steal your money, they just dont know what theyre doing.Id give them negative stars, 0 at best, but Google thinks Hated it should be 1 star.I paid their $36 diagnosis fee just to get my keys back. Let my money teach you a lesson, dont bother trusting this place with yours.
Have been using them for well over 25 years. Toyotas, Chevrolet, Buick--worked on all and always been more than satisfied. If an urgent problem, they will do all they can to work you in.
Very friendly and profesional.
We bought to antique cars in Hendersonville and needed help taking them out of the basement so we contacted autoworx. They went over and beyond to help us out especially Edward who operated the roll back. There service was excellent and very fairly priced. I would highly recommend autoworx for any towing or loading needs. Thank you Edward.
Assume friendly and dependable . Thanks Ray
Dont even think of it.
Outstanding workmanship backed up by a guarantee from the owner who qcs every car.
I have personally taken cars here years ago and it was a nice shop. The last visit our truck was there 5 days before it was pulled in the garage for the first time . We did not get all of our problems resolved and payed way too much for what was done.
I have used this company for 4 years and have been very satisfied. The owner John McMurray, the rservice writer John Simons and the assistant Eddie have all been kind, knowledgeable courteous and competent. If you have a Toyota this is the shop to use. The service is prompt and accurate. Whether it was repairs, body work or maintenance the results were always 100% satisfactory.
Worst mechanic in town. They are a waste of time, take advantage of you, and will not fix the problem you are having with your vehicle. Not to mention overcharge as well. Stay clear of this place if you can.
WORST MECHANICAVOID THIS SHOPKeep in mind, they never called me during the repair process below:They ordered the wrong part and then they removed my old one without opening the box to check the new one. They promised a few hours but it took a day and a half. When they originally quoted $250 they failed to mention it was in addition to the $250 they were already going to charge me.They called me two times: once to give me a false quote in the beginning and once a day and a half later when they told me to pick it up and dish out $500.I expect a mechanic to be on the level and keep me in the know but this shop is severely. Autoworx is either dishonest or incompetent or both.
Ive found Autoworx to be very helpful, open, dependable, very fairly priced, and above all trustworthy. This is the sort of shop that you look for for a long time, a shop to rely upon--luckily I found it right away on moving to HVL.. Nov 2020 update: Autoworx does a post-fix checkup with you via text to see how things are going--in my experience very few businesses do that.
I dont normally review on here but this place deserves one in hopes my experience can save at least one person from this nightmare ripoff of a place! I brought my truck in for a power steering leak on a Saturday I even had an empty power steering fluid bottle in hand! I thoroughly explained the issue & assumed that everything would be taken care of. After 4 days (Wednesday) we finally got a call back and were told that it was the power steering cooler lines that were leaking having knowledge of mechanics this seemed reasonable we were quoted a price & agreed to the work being done and were told that the truck would be ready by the end of the week. Friday came & went & no call halfway thru Saturday I called to find out what was going on and was told it looks like theyre doing something with your oil filter but I dont really know what theyre doing to your truck let me call John and call you back. When he called back I was told that John said to say everything was ok the tech just ran out of time to finish the job & it would be done on Monday. I questioned the oil filter again and was told again he really didnt know what they were doing. So when Monday came along no call by well into the afternoon my wife called & was told that they were finishing up repairing the OIL COOLER LINES due to a massive oil leak (which there wasnt) but that they had now found that there was a HUGE POWER STEERING FLUID LEAK - well thats what we bought the truck in for in the first place. After some time on the phone and a phone call from me as well they promised they would have the initial problem fixed by the next day. The next day (Tuesday) both my wife & I showed up at the shop looking under the truck it was covered in oil and dripping oil from the front bumper to about halfway back the length of the truck and still dripping power steering fluid. After confronting the both John who wrote the ticket when we bought it in & the owner about this massive oil leak that A didnt exist and B that they didnt ask permission to fix it was said there was a communication error - this conversation did not go well to say the least & it was obvious that because we are women they assumed we are ignorant. We told them they had one chance to figure the power steering issue out and I wanted a phone call before lunch. They did call with the problem which was the seal on the gear box and would have to order parts - so now because they did other work on the truck even though I didnt authorize it or need it I became responsible for a portion of it & with the gear box which he would discount to make things right for the little mistake my total would be $800. We authorized it because we needed the truck back and working and we had already been without it for almost a week and a half by this point. The next day they called my wife by mid afternoon to let her know that it was done. When she went to pick it up the truck was still a mess - it hadnt been cleaned one bit was covered with all kinds of oil and now all kinds of power steering fluid even the steering wheel and door handle. The truck was still making some noise and now the brakes were scraping which they said were because they needed to be replaced. The brakes were fine but it appeared that they had stood on the brake pedal very hard or for a long period of time and the caliper locked down so we had to have them released. Additionally the noises we heard were due to them not putting enough power steering fluid in and the oil was also left 2 1/2 quarts low! Even though the receipt said they topped both off - they also decided to put a quart of synthetic oil in to top it off without asking what we used thus mixed conventional and synthetic oils. There were gum wrappers left in the door to go along with the grease all on the inside of the truck as well. The work was not done very half a**ed just to get us out of their way. The gear box was not set or adjusted correctly & is still making noise with turns & the steering is loose. This place is horrendous! They are incompetent incapable at best!
They do very good work, and they are honest. They are expensive, but for the quality of the work it is worth spending the extra money.
They tried to RIP me off on a radiator
Best shop in Hendersonville
Do this place work on transmissions
Dont go. They try to convince you something is wrong with your vehicle to ask if they can fix it,to try to get your business. The old dude inspecting vehicles seems ignorant.
Best Toyota shop in WNC
I was ripped off and paid $1200 to have my car break down for the exact thing they swore they fixed . I will never return for any kind of future business . I am very disappointed .
A+
