Classic old school luncheonette. Good food, good value, good service, good cup o’ joe. You come in here knowing what you want and knowing what your gonna get. It’s my first time back here in 27 years or so and I love that it’s virtually the same. I’ll definitely come back in a couple weeks.

Old school charm. Great place for a quick bite to eat or stay a bit longer. Great breakfast, lunch and dinner choices. Greek and American fare, all reasonably priced. Staff are friendly and attentive. Blueberry pancakes are a great choice, so is the spinach and feta omellete. Place has been around since the 30s I believe. Family owned and operated. If youre lucky enough to be there at the right time you just may meet Billy Joel. I hear hes a regular.

Amazing food and service the just recently remodeled the inside of the building. Lower prices then your traditional diner with less processed ingredients it has been owned by the two same people for a very long time and they make ice cream and chocolate from scratch they have amazing chocolate chip pancakes that they make with the chocolate that they make their. Also the place has amazing fried fish broiled fish something you wouldnt expect to find so good at a diner. Love hicksville sweet shop!!!!

Growing up in the 60s in Hicksville, NY was a wonderful time. The Hicksville Sweet Shop was one of the largest parts of what made my childhood and teen years so magical. I will never forget the times I spent there. You could just walk in on a Friday night and know all the teenagers from Hicksville would be there. It was like Cheers for the teens, a place where everybody knew your name. Great music was always playing and I always got the hot fudge sunday, with nuts. I hope the owners know that even now with many of us from back then spread all over the country we still think fondly of the place we loved, The Hicksville Sweet Shop. Thank you so much for the memories.

A great Hometown feel in a family-owned old fashioned Diner setting. Ive been going here, mainly for breakfast for over 40 years. Still has its charm. Excellent prices and excellent food. Cant be beat. Highly recommended for anybody passing through or living in Hicksville. Also if youre driving to the East End of Long Island its only a mile or so south of the expressway or Northern State... A worthwhile stop to pull off grab a great breakfast before continuing.

This is an authentic multi-generational family owned and operated ice cream/soda shop from the past, probably one of the last of its kind and its a treasure! The food is good with large servings, and the owners and staff will make you feel right at home. The ice cream is made right on premises and they are also very well known for the best in homemade chocolate treats, which they can customize for you as needed. Id recommend this place to all who want an authentic Soda Shop experience!

This place in Hicksville is known as Hot Breads located on South Broadway. All their bakery products are eggless and the snacks are all vegetarian, mostly soy based or otherwise. The quality is good. The cakes and pastries are excellent and the baker is a master. But first, the cakes and all the menu items are expensive. And then the owner is hardly customer friendly. He seriously lacks customer skills. These are the reasons for the 3 stars.

This is a nice quant diner, a throwback to the old days. Ive only come here for breakfast, but its priced well and tastes good. I give one less star because the make syrup and orange juice both look like theyre both just brought in from a supermarket and not the best.

Excellent! Old fashioned American soda fountain place. Burgers and grilled cheese sandwiches and ice cream were great. I think the reviewer saying they dont talk english is confused... not this place. Very old school American. Waitress had a charming Long Island accent.

Its nice to have a restaurant in town that caters to you with the old small town ambiance. This business is run right as it has been since it opened in 1925.I hope it never changes. The prices are good, the food is very good, and the friendly wait staff is tops.
