I used these guys after another shop quoted me an outrageous amount for brakes, rotors and new tires. Other shop quoted $2,700 and these guys did it all for $1,300; LESS THAN HALF. The owner Fernando was sympathetic to those guys, and I spoke with Richard a lot too. Both are down to earth, knowledgeable and honest. I mentioned how I was down to 1 car for a bit with kids and work and they gave me a free oil change coupon for when the other one needs it. They kind jynxed me because the check engine light came on in the other car the next day! So I take it in, just a code for the gas cap not being tight enough. Did the free oil change the offered the week before while they were at it. Didnt upsell me for a check engine light and a free oil change? Stop looking around and go to these guys.

The manager at Milex was very helpful. He took the time to look at my car and tell me exactly what was needed - he also explained why it was needed. When the job was done he showed me the old parts and went over everything that was done again so I felt good about the job.

These guys are great. There are quite a few places that are closer to home that I could use, but I use these guys all the time. They are fair and really seem to know their stuff. My car is older but it gets regular service. That makes a difference, and this shop is the place that can deliver it. I highly recommend them!

My husband and I chose this shop because of the ratings vs. other shops nearby. The other reasoning we chose this particular shop was the offer for free towing and diagnostics with repair, as the car had been sitting for 4 months with a dead battery. The car prior to the dead battery was only giving hesitation when really hitting the gas. We told them we would be leaving state and needed everything in good condition for this trip, they said it would be no problem but that they would need to keep the vehicle overnight. The next morning they called and told us “the whole throttle body is bad, because it has sat unused” and in need of replacement and that they would need an additional day. The throttle body was $780, we were told this is definitely causing the hesitation in the vehicle, so we agreed. Later on we are told that the solenoid control was toast, and needed replaced as well. Then we were informed they could not find the part available anywhere local, so we went to pick the vehicle up and pay (1,541.69)Richard said it was in perfect condition and that “he’d even drive it himself”. We get in the vehicle, attempted driving out the lot and we are idling so hard that we are bouncing in our seats. We immediately pulled back in to question why this was happening as it wasn’t doing this before, only giving hesitation? Richards response was that it was the solenoid that was not available to replace. A woman got into the passenger side of the vehicle to witness the hard idle, even after seeing that my husband and I are wearing masks. We were clearly attempting to protect ourselves against illness, as we are both immunocompromised, one due to past chemotherapy. We let the woman out and said we would find the part ourselves. We spent all night looking at the solenoid area but were confused as to which part we needed so we took it back the next morning. We were then informed by Richard that he had rigged the valves to “run smoother than it would hooked the proper way” shouldn’t we have been informed of this when we questioned the hard idle?? Richard clearly stated “let me get the mechanic who checked this out” and called out a name to come over to the hood. It was a boy (his son) no older than 14. First thing he did was shake the solenoid showing that the boy had not tightened it enough. I immediately recorded what was going on under the hood the whole time so that we would know what part specifically we needed this time. We were also annoyed that we weren’t informed a child would be touching any portion of the vehicle. Richard told us he would install the solenoid for free after all of the hassle, which we appreciated. We got the part delivered and installed. We were still experiencing hesitation on pressing gas hard and had no time before our trip to bicker back and forth any further. We had no choice but to cross state line in this condition and did not seem unsafe. Until we get down a mountain and are experiencing bucking of the vehicle along with brakes screeching. I thought our 800 dollar part and 130 dollar solenoid part was going to fix this issue?? As for the brakes Richard informed me that they can go bad overnight so that it was in our hands. Fine, we’re not hurting and I don’t need to argue about making things right. It’s come to my knowledge that it is illegal for his son to have ever laid a finger on the vehicle (which I have proof of), as he is not “licensed” my mistake, “certified” as Richard wanted to mansplain the difference over the phone although he understood me very well. I will be having to report this to the better business bureau, as well as any other agency that will take interest in this matter. Don’t recommend. The guarantee is a joke, guess they did guarantee they would get it running, but not properly.

This was my first experience using the shop. They came in at a way lower price for a new transmission Than anyone else in town. The service was done quickly and on time. Richard and Fernando we’re both very friendly and professional. My car runs great now thanks to them. And the complementary towing was a bonus

Richard and Fernando, and the whole team are truly amazing people. They care about their customers and are always willing to help in any way that they can, they have great prices and quality service. We were in and out for a tire rotation and oil change in less than 30 minutes. We were really down on our luck and they helped us be able to get a new car, when our car basically died. I will not ever go to another mechanic, there’s no need when they have such amazing service.

Had my transmission fixed but one of the parts was bad. They rebuilt my transmission and did some extra things and didnt charge me a penny! This was a yr later! Very nice!

I cant rave enough about the services provided by Richard and his staff. The entire staff is capable and professional. Had issues replacing my clutch. Took my car there at 11am on a Saturday. By 2pm the car was nearly complete with only fluid levels needing adjusted Monday morning. Quality and professionalism well above expectations. Continued to keep me informed during the repair process. Would absolutely recommend their services to anyone in need of a mechanic.

I cannot recommend Richard (The Manager) and this location strongly enough. After having dealt with a few dishonest mechanics in the past using this location was a breath of fresh air. Richard was great to deal with, he was honest with exactly what the problem was, quoted me exactly what I ended up paying and repaired the car in the time frame that he gave. The premises are clean the staff are friendly and I dont see how I could have had a better experience.Originally I had quotes from three other transmission shops, I went with this place due to Richards superior knowledge of the car that I have, which is a Volvo, some shops wouldnt even give me a quote due to the car being a little bit of a specialist vehicle, however, Richard knew the product well and Im very happy with the repair and havent had any more problems since the car was returned.Save yourself a lot of problems and give this place a call, if youre on the fence as to who to use for your repair, give Richard a call and talk to him before making any decisions.

What a great experience this was for me. My vehicle was towed, diagnosed and (slave cylinder) repaired in under 24 hrs. The cost was 1/4 of what the Volvo dealer quoted me. And the parts are guaranteed for life. I have found my new shop!

Milex did an outstanding job of repairing my 2005 Ford Escape transmission. Richard took the time to explain the details of the problem and what was required to repair it. Very competitive price for the repair and they worked with me to find a date to do the repair quickly. I got a great guarantee and warranty with the repair. Since that repair, Ive returned to them for several other repairs and maintenance as well. I highly recommend Milex - they are good, honest people.

This is the worst place to have anything done. They messed up my trans and broke my shifter that worked fine before the repair. Now they wont honor the warranty and Im stranded without a vehicle. Stay far away from these hacks.

I’ve been very impressed with all the service I’ve gotten here at Milex. The techs are great and saved me $200 off a transmission by catching that it just needed a torque converter. I rarely trust mechanics as I’m suspicious, but I trust these guys. I go to them for oil changes to major issues. A+ milex. Way to treat customers!

Was there about a week ago and they were great. I went in with what i thought was a major transmission problem and the mechanics there spent about 3 hours checking my truck over to figure out my problem. Turns out it was a electrical shortage not a transmission...They fixed it for me and m y truck runs great now, and they didnt even charge me for the time the spent checking it out just the repair.

Called & asked if someone could listen to a loud clunking noise in front end & give me just an an opinion, not a quote. Guy says “yes, but they’re gonna charge you.” I said, just to drive (parking lot) ? Reply - “yep, it’s time. $100.” Whole conversation was 24 seconds.Now that is poor customer service. Too bad.

I was having significant issues with my vehicle. I brought it into another car service shop earlier in the day. They wouldnt touch my vehicle, and by time I left I thought it was doomsday. I called Milex/Mr. Transmission and spoke to Richard, and explained the situation. He told me to bring the vehicle right in. Within a few minutes of arriving was greeted by Richard, gave him my information and the keys to my car. Within Id say 10-15 my car was test driven and on the lift. They found the issues, came to get me and showed me/ explained what was going on.Gave me a quote and an estimated time frame the vehicle would be done. Richard had Fernando drop me off at my home and pick me up when the vehicle repairs were done. In the event the vehicle was not done, they offered to bring me to my appointment on the other side of Palm Harbor. The vehicle was done exactly when Richard said it would be. Richard and Fernando were straightforward and right to the point, they were honest and their customer service was awesome, and of course the price was very reasonable. It was the first time significant work was done and I didnt feel like I was being taken advantage of and unnecessary work being done.I highly recommend Milex/Mr. Transmission and they will now be my go to for all issues with my vehicle.

I called them to have my auto transmission diagnosed. They came to the house and towed it back to their shop. Within a couple of hours they called back with the diagnoses. I arranged to have the repairs done there. Within 5 days I had my car back in working order(this included a weekend). So far I have been happy with the repairs. Recommended.

Do not let them do any work (especially additional work) you have not verified the fair market value (price) of!! Let the buyer beware (fear and tremble), and get it in writing BEFORE a single bolt is loosened -- especially on additional repairs recommended while your vehicle is in the shop for a known repair. Be willing and prepared to pull the plug on the whole deal by insisting that all recommendations of additional repairs be made prior to ANY work being performed (and make sure to insist they commit to this process in writing, or run away!).No touchee car -- until they have quoted ANY and ALL RECOMMENDED REPAIRS, and you have an itemized list of additional repairs they recommend. Take the itemized list to at least 2 other garages to get a second opinion before surgery has commenced. Let prudence be your guide.Yes, I was a customer.Yes, I shopped the original desired repair.Yes, I was offered a time-sensitive deal which included additional repairs at additional pricing while they had my vehicle in their shop performing the original repair.Yes, I will eternally regret not pulling the plug on the whole deal, until I could get other opinions on repair and pricing.I dont believe I have said anything other than offering ultra-cautious advice to anyone needing repairs of a vehicle who does not already have a relationship with a mechanic they trust, and stating my dissatisfaction with the value of services rendered.That should protect me legally. Protect yourself as you deem fit.Can you give a zero star rating? ;-)

Milex took care of us two years ago when the transmission in our Honda Odyssey went up. Fast, clean, courteous and reassuring. And best of all at a great price. Now they are taking care of a fuel pump in our Ford Expedition. We went back because of the care and pricing. They came out and rescued us off of 19. Knowledge of all makes and models and he even called around with me there to get the lowest price he could on parts. Highly recommend going there to anyone and for anything. Being from out of state and visiting down here its hard to find a trustworthy mechanic, but we did in Milex.

I went to Milex late in the day because my car was making a weird noise and Richard put me right at ease and checked my car quickly. I stopped by this shop on April 18, 2019. I was in the process of purchasing a vehicle from the used dealership next to the shop. I wanted to have the vehicle checked out before I bought it. The staff at Milex were very professional and did a thorough check of the vehicle. They went over everything that was wrong and gave me a quote to get some items repaired if I decided to purchase the vehicle. I will never use any other mechanic than Milex in holiday. I have been told my car needed expensive repairs at another shop and Richard at Milex not only told me this was not the case and repaired my car for much less, the customer service is wonderful. They have literally saved me thousands of dollars in unnecessary repairs. Do not take your vehicle anywhere else. This shop is honest and reliable.

These guys know what they are doing. Took care of everything that was involved with my extended warranty. They can recommend repairs with no pressure, just warnings if not done. Great car talk with the mechanics. I will recommend this shop to my friends and family. I will definitely use them to tackle repairs i dont have time to do.

I brought my truck in for upper control arm bushings and a caliper replacement. I had already replaced the rotors and pads. The salesman tried to upsell me to the tune of $1200 extra work.its a 20 year old truck. He said they wouldnt replace my bushings unless he could charge for a complete brake replacement and full control arm assemblies and a front CV axle. Only the bushings and caliper were bad. TI brought my car in last year for a water pp afnd they gave it back to me with loose bolts. My alternate actually fell out.UPDATE. I bought the parts I asked them to replace for $200. It took me 3 hours to replace everything. They could have had my business if they didnt try to upcahrge me it drives great that was my Saturday. 5/9/2020 Sidenote. They had a teenager helping to put my tires back on after I refused the extra work. He put the lug nuts on Soo tight, 2 broke off and one is stripped.

My Husband and I brought our car to Milex/ Mr. Transmission in Holiday, FL for an oil change and a transmission fluid check. The manager of the shop, Richard Booth, told us he would also find out why the check engine light was on. He told us that the oxygen sensor was bad and that he would fix it for $185. He guaranteed us that would fix the problem. He also guaranteed us that the cat. converter was just fine and did not need to be replaced. A week later, the check engine light came back on and I brought the car back to Richard. They reset the code and said that would fix the problem. Another week later, check engine light was back on. He then informed me that the cat. converter was suddenly bad. After explaining to him that we did not get the service that was guaranteed to us, Richard agreed to fix the problem and take care of us and be a man of his word. He shook my hand and told me not to worry. We took the car back to him today and low and behold, he tried to hit us up for a $400 cat. converter replacement bill. The owner of the shop was there this time and he also refused to do right by us.I would suggest staying as far away from this business as you can. I took my car here because it wasnt shifting right. I told the manager that if it was the transmission I did not want to fix it as it has 200,000 miles. I was told it wasnt the transmission but the hoses to the transmission need to be replace in addition to the radiator and front brakes. The car shifted the same when I picked it up. I took it back. I was then told it was the transmission. He said it drove fine when he did the test drive but they dont make left turns when they test drive. ??????? I asked why not as this is how I identified the problem. He said they just dont. I took it to another transmission shop who showed me the bolts to the transmission were rusted on. Never touched. I have finally forgiven them but dont want them to take advantage of anyone else.

Brought in my car late on Friday. I thought I was going to have to wait till the next day for a diagnosis but it was quick and so was the repair. Was able to pick it up the next morning. Its really hard for me to trust mechanics, had a lot of bad experiences that made me hesitant to say the least. That being said Ive found my new go-to shop. Difficult to work with this shop. After establishing a relationship they refused to change summer to winter tires, claiming they dont install customer parts then later saying it wasnt worth it to put the vehicle on their lift because they could only charge me $20. What a sad excuse. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere that will value your business and have stronger ethics. Poor job.

I would give them a 0 if that was possible. They will tell you 98$ to determine the problem and spend 30-45 min of that on the phone and walking away from your car to look at another car. Then come in and tell you man we need to keep it over night and it will be 98$ an hour. As I started asking more questions their responses was we will just back your car out and say have a good day. Theyre the reason you can trust a mechanic. I went to Good Year down the street $289.00 and my car is fixed. $79.00 to determine the issue and $210 for parts and labor. These fools wanted a entire day and $98 and hour. They will then tell you everyone else is the same they will probably be higher. Thank you crooks for sending me on my way.

I will ALWAYS go to Milex for any repair. The staff is extremely friendly and they take care of your car as if it were their own. They dont give you cheap parts and half down repairs. They give you the best of the best. My cars transmission was shot and they fixed it only 2 days! They show you the parts that were in your car previously and let you know exactly what was wrong. This is the GO TO place for your car needs.

I called and spoke with Richard the manager to ask for an appointment and he was very nice and stated to come in early the next day and would be happy to check out my transmission . I went in the next morning to have the transmission checked. Richard and his crew inspected my car they told me was not my transmission. but found about four other problems one was a cracked motor mount and Two rotors needed replaced which I was told before. I was impressed how they checked other possible reasons for my car problem. I had previously went to AAmco, and well just say they was going to charge me for something that did not need done. After I had Richard at Milex Mr. Transmission finish the work on my car, I feel much more safe. Richard let me know my car is now in very good shape to take long trips. I would recommend this place to everyone who needs honest people working on your vehicle. they know what they are doing. Thanks so much Richard.

These guys are great! Had my dump truck up and and running with a complete rebuild and overhaul of my transmission in 2 days. They even came out to my shop to fix an unrelated problem that we thought was transmission related for FREE! He would NOT take any money for the fix. I also have an impresive 3 year warranty attached. Cant believe he offered this knowing I own a tree service and what the truck would got thru.I would highly recommend Richard with Milex and Mr. Transmission. From start to finish it has been a Great experience. Very fair priced and awesome craftsmanship that he personally stands behind.Dont go anywhere else! Best place to get your car fixed. Customer Service was Excellent. I needed my Axle and Bearings done was so bad the tire was about to fall off. I showed up at 330 knowing they close at 5 they put 2 guys on it so i could leave with my car due too i had a 6am Appt. For my husband. I had transmission problems and i took my car to a place to fix,and it wasnt fixed,so i took it to Milex in Holiday and they fixed it super!!!!
