This commentary is specifically regarding the Holly Springs location.Terrible customer service, but decent doctors. Generally recommend you should stay away if you can avoid it. They will cause you nothing but headaches if you do business with them.I have been a patient here for about four years. Honestly I kept going because it was near my house, and the doctor was very good. However, the customer service is simply unprofessional. I have had several negative experiences with their staff, specifically with Barbara. One occasion (around mid-August of this year) I had to go pick up some extra contacts because I ran out, and she seemed almost exasperated to get the boxes for me when I arrived. Another time I was trying to get the information for my contact lens rebate, and it was a struggle to work with their staff to get the necessary info.Today I arrived at 11:45 for my 11:40 appointment. Admittedly a little late, but generally 5 minutes is an acceptable window. They cancelled my appointment on the spot and refused to see me. Barbara cancelled my appointment and stated she told me the cutoff was 5 minutes. That is simply not true. I never got any indication that my appointment would be rescheduled if I showed up 5+ minutes late. Im not trying to excuse the lateness, but Im extremely disappointed that she insisted she has told me this when she did not.This was the final straw for me. Ill wont be returning to this specific office, and may be done with MyEyeDr in general. The customer service at these large chains is just incredibly underwhelming.

I have been to this location twice and have had nothing but great customer service! From the time of walking in, through my exam, and checking out. I have no idea how people have had bad experiences! Also, love Dr. Garces! She is so sweet, explains everything so well, and makes sure I am seeing my best! She is very thorough, which is much appreciated!

Ive been coming here since they opened years ago and have always had a good experience. The front desk staff have been wonderful, the folks who do the initial intake are wonderful, and Dr. Garces is wonderful. Getting an appointment usually takes a month unless you get lucky or call in. Since most appointments are annual anyway, its easy to schedule in advance. They have an online portal where you can update your information ahead of time. Ive never felt pushed to buy anything, and theyre always up front about costs and rebates, along with what insurance covers.

Worst eye doctor experience ever. The customer experience was awful. My mask was brand new and so it made me cough a little and the front desk person, told me I sounded like a horse. From the time I stepped in, I feel like they were trying to sell me something. I feel that the doctor was trying to oversubscribe to me. Wanted me to get special lenses and/or readers. Although, my eyes are fine. Referred to me as getting old. I am 38. I told them wanted normal glasses and that would do. They keep telling me I am an adult and I can make my own decisions. It took me a month to get in. They selection was awful. So they kept referring me to the village. They kept driving home that I needed to go to another location to buy glasses. I told them five times, I was going somewhere else. They kept commenting on my clothes as well. They just wanted me to spent as much money as possible there. It was awful. They really did not care about my health.

Update: The manager contacted me and explained what happened with my glasses. I now have my glasses and they were nice enough to give me a free pair of glasses for the inconvenience. I can see now!!!I have been going to this location for years and have always had a great experience. I had a great experience on 5/21/21 when I had my eye exam and picked my glasses. The issue is it is 7/2/21 and I do not have my glasses. We have been told 2 different stories, 1. They told my husband, the glasses came back and the lens were not correct, we’re sending them back. That was the beginning of June.2. I call today and was told my insurance requires the glasses go to a VSP lab…..hmmm, where did they go the first time?It has been 6 weeks and 2 different stories. I just want the glasses that I paid for. I have had VSP previously and it has never taken 6 weeks to obtain glasses. I know we’re still in a Pandemic but my son has the same insurance and was seen at another busy optometrist office and his came back in 3 weeks.I honestly feel like I am getting the runaround and someone dropped the ball.

Really poor customer service + Inconsistent Safety PracticesWhile I really liked Dr Garces, and think she genuinely cares about her patients, a lot of the staff seemed just not to care about customer service or health and safety protocols they say they put in place. After 3 weeks of dealing with them, I finally have my contacts sorted out, but Im not sure Ill ever be going back.Visit 1 - when I first entered, they made me change my mask for one of their own - I was fine with that. The exam went well. They didnt have my script in the brand I prefer, so I tried a new one, assured that if I didnt like them it would be an easy return, and wed order my previous brand. Sounded good to me. The woman who helped me pick out a pair of glasses was nice, and took every pair I tried on, and made sure to clean them before putting them back on the shelf - she was very insistent that this was their covid policy.Unfortunately I didnt really like the brand, so after a weekend in them, I called the store and asked if we could go ahead and cancel the order, and re-order my old brand. This is where customer service took a turn. The first woman I spoke with told me she just needed to get the Dr to update and approve it, and shed call me right back. That never happened. So I called the next day, and she gave me a different story, saying that Id need to have another exam so the Dr could see me in the old brand, but they still didnt have my script, so she would call around to other MyEyeDoctors in the area, again saying shed call me back - and she never did. So, I called again and spoke with a gentlemen. He told me I needed to wait until the first order arrived at my house, and then bring them in to the office to process the return, and then theyd order the other brand.Once I received my order, on a Friday, I called and the same gentlemen told me to just bring them in on Saturday and theyd get it taken care of. So, I go to the office on Saturday, and he tells me that there is no manager on duty, and they are waiting for a loaner manager from another store - but he assured me they would process the return, and he would absolutely call me that day - after 4pm. Guess what - no call.So, I call again on Monday, and the lady I spoke with told me that nobody called because their phones shut off at 4pm. She made me an appt to go in again, have another exam, and order the other brand.Visit 2 - this time, I walk in, and half of the customers were wearing their own masks - cool with me, but inconsistent. I sat and waited, while a different woman (who wore her mask under her nose) helped a customer try on glasses. The customer, who also had her mask under her nose, tried on probably 50 pairs of glasses, and put them all back on her own. Nobody was asking her to set them aside, or cleaning them. Again - inconsistent. Finally, I was able to get back to see the Dr and get everything squared away.

Wow, this place lost its customer service skill. Ive been going to this Eye Dr for years, and this place has been terrible this year. I recently had an emergency with my eye, that my Dr recommended that I see my vision and take a look. I called MyEyeDr to get an early appointment; they kept referring me to NC Retina instead. NC retina kept telling me that they require a referral from my eye dr. I tried calling them back explained the situation; they kept telling me, Oh, we will get that out to them Please keep in mind this is now going on 3 days waiting. Called them back and asked when is the Dr going to send the referral? The person on the phone rudely said, Dr is busy she will get to it! Not sure why they raised their tone with me as its been 3 days. Needless to say, its now been 3 weeks, and I never heard from them. Thank goodness my eyes got better, so I booked an appointment with another place. Thanks for nothing.

Had my appointment this morning at Holly Springs location. Arrived 15 minutes early as requested by the staff. The door remained locked until 9am. Even after tapping on the door and seeing two people in the store. They ignored me. The experience went down from there. The doctor I was to see was struck in the line at Starbucks. She was late. Never again!

Not even one star worthy. Rude staff if you don’t buy what they suggest. The doctor was nice until I said I was buying my glasses online and not from them. After I said I was buying glasses online they became very short with my questions and just rushed me out the door.On top of the bad service they have people come in remove the mask they are wearing, then they give you one of theirs that’s been setting on the count exposed to everything and everyone.

Terrible customer service. The woman at the front desk is disgustingly rude. Have been waiting for 5 months to get a referral appt for an opthamologist that Im pretty sure the Dr. never sent. They just lost 2 patients today. Good riddance.

Would not recommend. I’ve never experienced worse customer service. During our appointment reminder call the receptionist was very short and rude, but made sure to tell us we NEEDED to be there 15 minutes early. So we showed up exactly 15 minutes early and the front door was locked with a sign saying they were closed. I called the phone number for the office and it also said they were closed. We went next door to grab breakfast and then checked back at the eye doctor office on our way out. They just so happened to be open now?! We go in for our appointments and then they were unable to accommodate us with our sleeping newborn in a completely covered stroller saying it was against COVID guidelines. They wouldn’t budge even though we explained he was a premature newborn that was unable to have an outside babysitter due to it being the middle of a pandemic. Through all of the doctors appointments we’ve been to since the beginning of 2020, we’ve never experienced this level of disrespect and unprofessionalism.I wish I would have looked at all of the other numerous 1 star reviews before wasting our time.

Terrible experience. Felt like they were trying to up sell during the experience without providing thorough information. They also sold me on a rebate offer to try new lenses and the rebate offer was declined because that specific pair of contacts weren’t included.

This location was rude when I called them back cause they made a mistake when they put the order in on my glasses the doctors recommendation was on the computer they read it back to me my glasses were supposed to have transitioning on them and they came back without it I called they said it will be another 75.00 I said I shouldn’t have to pay for your mistake they said sir it’s another 75.00 again this was their mistake and they should have fixed it and apologized but they were rude and hung up on me. I do not recommend anyone go here.

After reading reviews I was a little worried for my appointment today, however, every single staff member put my mind at ease with how friendly yet professional they were. I felt very taken care of and they were very receptive to me only needing contacts vs. getting everything all at once. I was very happy with my visit and will now be sure this is my yearly exam visit! Thank you all at the Holly Springs location! You are amazing!

Bad experience. I arrive 12 min late, even though I called to tell them the Uber got delayed and I was almost there, they said they only wait 10 min max. Sad to see they prefer to lose a customer that arrived there as she had committed than to attend them. I will look better for another place that has more flexibility

Never going back after my designer frames were damaged when they were sent to a “Lab” for lenses. These were frames that I paid out of pocket for online, so they were special and exactly what I wanted. They told me the damage was not fixable and they were destroyed and that I could pick out a pair of their ugly frames for free. NO THANK YOU !! I expect a full refund for the frames and lenses.

Not flexible at all! I came in 14 minutes late to my appointment and they told me they have a 15 minutes grace period before cancelling my appointment, which I totally understand. However, I was never made aware of this policy when I booked my appointment, and ended up having to reschedule it even though I met their grace period policy. Also, when I came in the client scheduled after me had already gone in, and they wouldnt even exchange my slot with theirs, even though I was willing to wait. If this is the type of treatment Ill receive, then Ill be looking for a new place to go immediately.

People are very nice but the office can be a little frustrating because they dont call back when there is a problem. I just had my physical and contact lens fitting etc within the last month. The doctor highly recommended contacts that dry out my eyes very badly. I called three times to try to see if I could come get a different kind of contact and each time I was told I would be called back, but I would probably need another (third in one month) appointment in order to sample another kind of contact lens. I havent been called back. I found the North Raleigh location to be much more helpful.

Their commitment to ensuring that both pairs of glasses I recently purchased were exactly what I needed was awesome. I applaud the commitment by MyEyeDr. to customer service. Treat people well and they come back, bout a complex model. The consistency in this across locations shows me this is a commitment by the company as a whole.

I have given them a chance for 2 yearly visits now. Both times they are were running over an hour behind. Ive ended up waiting in the waiting room for at least 30-45 minutes, then in the back room for another 30-45 minutes before even seeing someone. Additionally, this last time, the contact prescription I was given (which was the same as my glasses - no change) was blurry and made me dizzy because she wanted me to use a different brand. I ended up having to go back twice to get the proper contacts. The doctor is always recommending different contacts from what has worked well for me for the last 20 years. The last straw was when I called last week to try to get my glasses prescription emailed to me, she said she would send it by the end of the day - here we are 4 days later no email and when I try to call no one answers all their agents are assisting other customers. The staff is not very helpful and I will be finding a new eye dr from now on.

They took time to help me choose a pair of glasses even though I didnt have an appointment. Very friendly staff. Staff at BrierCreek, and Crabtree Valley Mall branches seemed like they were in a rush and didnt want to sit down and figure out what was best for you. Ever since moving out to Holly Springs I started using this MyEyeDr location. I’ve used them in the past in other parts of Raleigh and had less than stellar experiences. I am planning to go elsewhere... they’ve made my glasses incorrectly 3 times now, well 4 including the $500 Raybans sitting in my drawer right now.I don’t have time to go back repeatedly for issues, and now I just feel bad for them after reading these reviews.Everyone has been nice and helpful every time I’ve been there. Not going back to My Eye Dr. again. My wife was sent a text reminder telling her to schedule her annual checkup, which she scheduled for today. She scheduled this two weeks ago, and twice received confirmation texts (the most recent being received today). When we got there, we were informed that insurance wont cover it before the 21st. They said they tried to call my wife twice to reschedule (we checked, no calls from them). I took time off of work to take her today only to find out that we cant do it, and were not communicated to (other than of course the confirmation text we got EARLIER TODAY). Not going to give my business to a place that is so disorganized.

We have been going to the Holly Springs location for a couple of years now and they are awesome!! My son has had to change his prescription several times and the lenses were not up to par and they replaced them without question. They were the ones who pointed out that the lenses were not perfect!!! Katherine Buck really takes great care of me and my family. She is a true asset. Thank you.

Terrible, frustrating experience! I went there to get an eye exam 6 weeks ago and got a new prescription. Since then, they have made my glasses incorrectly 3 times! The first two times, they sent me home with the glasses, unaware of the errors. My glasses were supposed to be ready yesterday and when I didnt hear anything, I called today. Turns out they came in a few days ago but were wrong again. This is completely unacceptable and I am appalled at this entire situation. Once it is all over and I finally have everything I need, I will never use this business again. I recommend you use another eye service!

The doctors there are a joke. After spending $1000 on two pair of glasses, WITH THEIR PRESCRIPTION, I couldnt see very well and was dizzy.(something was obviously wrong with the prescription? I scheduled another appointment with LENS Crafters and the prescription was completely different. I can now see. I wasted my money and they failed to address the problem. DO NOT GO TO MY EYE DOCTOR!

My wife was running a couple minutes late for her appointment due to rush hour traffic. She called ahead to let them know and they told her to “do the best she can”. She ended up being less than 5 minutes late and they turned her away. They were rude and unhelpful. Never going back.

We rarely post, but we felt the need to for MyEyeDr. of Holly Springs. As with any business, we are sure some customers have a better experience than others, but we can honestly say we had a great experience! Dr. Garces, Katherine, and the entire staff were immensely attentive and went above and beyond to work with our family, including one of us who has an extremely uncommon condition. They were prompt with their service always seeing us at our appointed time, patient through any and all adjustments, and incredibly professional and sincere throughout the process. We went to a different provider in town prior to coming to MyEyeDr. and had a HORRIBLE experience. Working the staff here has completely out-shined our previous experiences. We give this team our highest recommendation.

Very unhappy with the service provided. Customer service was poor by the optometrist not the staff!! I was scolded like a child when questioning contact lens use. Dr. Garces was condescending when speaking with me. I work in healthcare and was appalled by the way I was spoken to. I also felt that they kept trying to add services to make $$ I received calls 1 year later stating that I had an appointment scheduled, when I never had made the appointment in the first place. When I requested my Rx, I had to call multiple times and confirm my email multiple times. I am glad I found a family owned practice near by that cares about the individual. I prefer family owned business over corporate any day.

Let me start with a warning, if you order glasses through them, and have in the past, they will ask you if you want the lenses the same as your last pair. Say no and start from scratch. I will get to why in a minute.I went in for an eye exam on 3/14/17. I wasnt impressed with the doctor at all. She seemed to be very scripted and robotic in the actual exam. Afterwards I went out and tried on several frames. I finally decided on a Lilly Pulitzer metal frame. They had it in the store in blue but Jill verified that they came in black and said she would order them for me. Jill said they came in black and the 2 stripes on the side would be pink but, everything else would be black. She then asked if I wanted the same lenses I ordered at my last exam two years prior. Stupid me, I said yes. Apparently since my last pair, they have come out with this blue coating. It wasnt available 2 years ago, so how in the world are these the same lenses I ordered then? Ill tell you how...more money in their pockets. Anyway, imagine my shock when they came in 2 weeks later and had so much pink on them. No thank you! I then told Kathleen I had taken pictures in the Apex store of a frame I was thinking of ordering as a second pair. She pulled them up on her computer and said she would order them as a replacement. I told her I wanted them in black she repeated black and I said yes. There was no confusion at all. 3 weeks later they finally came in and they were BLUE. I asked Kathleen what happened and she said We got the blue ones from Apex. You said those were the ones you loved. I reminded her that no, I liked the frame but not the color. She then backpedaled and said they were no longer available in black, they had been discontinued. So, she didnt call me to tell me this, she just took it upon herself to get them for me in blue? No, it was a lie to cover up her mistake. So now thats 2 separate women who said they would order me one thing then ordered me another. Complete incompetence. That was it, I was done with that store and I will never step foot back in there. I went to the Cary Centrum location to try rectify the situation. That has been a whole other disastrous headache that I am still waiting, almost two months post visit, to be worked out. I will leave that review for their yelp page which will be posted once I finally have the glasses I wanted in black, with a correct prescription (yup its been a headache both figuratively and literally).

I am unhappy with the tactics of how my eye Dr. handles insurance. The pre authorize your insurance so if you decide not to buy from them and try to use somewhere else you cant. You then have to get them to release the authorization they put on your insurance.It had turned out to be a hassle on my family. They are not cheap. So we look elsewhere and had to deal with the hassle. I will be looking to make a change

So I got glasses a year ago and they came in wrong the first time and damaged the second time, well i thought i would give them a second chance this year and the first pair came in damaged and they reordered them for me and let me take the pair that came in damaged. I waited a week and called and they were rude and said they would contact me when they came in and I waited another week, so 2 weeks in and I called again. They had no clue where they were and said they would call me back in 30mins and never called me back. I went in and they changed my frames out with the pair on the floor and about 3 hours later I took a much closer look and realized they were damaged as well. So I will no longer go back to this eye dr. To many times my frames have been damaged and they dont really feel like its urgent to help you.

Went in and was 11minutes late after the girl had already called and I told her I was on my way. They refused to see me and they also had told me it was located near target. Actually was in a lower level of the shopping center.Very embarrassed and will never go back. As much as Holly Springs is growing I know I am not the first to be late. What happens if they are running late when I get there?
