Good tasting food. Decent 5-6 outdoor tables but long wait time to be seated during dinner time on Saturday. Take 1 star off since towards the end of the meal spotted a roach on the palm tree inside patio area. The area is shared with apartment building behind the restaurant so assume its probably hard to control pest situation.
The food here is good. Place is quaint. The service is also good. However, the order accuracy is not so great. They charge extra for things like cheese on bread, marinara sauce, etc, and always seem to not include the up charge items. Dine in, its okay as you can send it back or request the missing items. However, I recommend you completely avoid take out or delivery because of the order accuracy errors.
Great pizza and service. Authentic feel
Been here twice- Do not know why this place has 4.5 stars, the service is terrible. I understand that during pandemic its hard to find good help but service in here is really bad. Expect to be ignored, just grab any server who passes by and even then good luck getting what you asked for. Appetizers and main arrived at same time and it was not even busy. One of the two pizza’s was burned on edges(black) -
Some of the most delicious Neapolitan pizza in Houston. The margarita pizza with red onions, roasted garlic and a side of pesto is my go to. Never disappoints
The service was ok and the food was okay too. I think the combination of indoor and outdoor seating is very nice and they had a good wine selection.
Great cozy Italian restaurant. Customer service is excellent, people oriented, become my favorite restaurant by far. Pizzas are delicious, home made in the wood fire pizza oven.
Definitely recommend this place for quality wood-fired pizzas and other great dishes. The rocket salad was simple but tasty. The mussels anise had a rich & delicious buttery sauce. Id get them again, I just want to try the mussels pomodoro next time! The fennel sausage pizza was great with a nice thin spread of toppings and perfectly baked crust (not a huge outer crust, which was a good thing imo). If you have room for dessert, the chocolate budino was rich and creamy but not too heavy, and had a good chocolate flavor. The service was also great with friendly staff, and the place is small so if you need anything its really easy for them to see you.
We love this place and while takeout was fine-dine in is better. Had a lovely meal on the patio-one of the only places that can do a my child approved plain pasta with olive oil, the parmesan on the side and stick to that (yes, my child does not want sauce, or butter, or the parm with the pasta). We split a house salad (large) and a pizza and had a glass of wine each.
4 star overall.Small cozy place with an outdoor seating. Place in next to the Costco complex under an apartment complex. Good ambience and the people are nice. Service was ehh (3/5). There were two other parties that complained and one of them actually left early as they were never served. We sat at the bar so that helped.Ok Tuesday they have the $5 drink specials and $10 pizza specials so visit then.Bruschetta (4/5): could be better. Bread was perfect and great addition of pesto but pesto didn’t seem fresh.Pesto chicken pasta (3/5): was bit on the dry side and again the pesto didn’t seem fresh and it felt that the pasta was sitting out for a while before served. I wouldn’t get it again.Margarita pizza with arugula (4/5): too much cheese to my liking so if they cut down on it it would be better. Additionally use of fresh mozzarella cheese would take it up a notch.Overall experience was good but would help if they upped the service a bit and maybe worked on the recipes a bit. Would I try it again - wouldn’t be my first choice but yes I would give it a try to see if the experience was one off or not.
Small intimate spot, with a legit wood fire oven and patio. Pizza is excellent, with a crunch on the outside soft and chewy on the inside, crust. I judge a pizza spot on how they execute the basics. The pepperoni pizza I had was certainly fresh and handmade. No frozen ingredients here, from what I could tell.
Pretty good pizza with fresh ingredients. The service here is pretty good but sometimes a little bit in the slow side even when they are not busy. Waiting for the check can take a while so you gotta proactively go close out yourself. I like the pizza here a lot . The product always the determining factor for me.
This place used to be one of our favorites. We went there tonight and had to leave because we didnt get any service at all even though it was pretty empty.
Pizza is awesome tasty crispy 😋
The absolute best carbonara Ive had in a very long time. Baileigh was an awesome waitress too!
Best neopolitan pizza inside the loop. Everything else about the place is so-so. Great weekday specials.
Great pizzeria. My family had a delightful meal in such a great place with Misha (the server) like a family member taking care of you.... the meal was the star of the night. Please visit this restaurant with good friends and family.
The crust is incredible - bolognese pasta is also very good. Throw a draft peroni on top and youve got yourself a solid meal. Hole in the wall vibe to it.
Pretty amazing pizza and service. Loved the freshness of everything, and the enticing smells when you walk it. Defiantly will go back. Really loved my time there.
Excellent pizza! Nice staff!
Tried the Cacio e Pepe pasta. Nothing remarkable except that I was served a quite small portion. Also, expect to be charged for the bread.
The best pizza I have ever eaten
Good pizza, but the ragu bolognese is spectacular, and the brussel sprouts are to die for. My taste buds are always stimulated to the max.
Excellent pizza! Definitely try the truffle pizza-it’s amazing 😊
Pizzeria Solario does the pizza crust exceptionally well because they have a proper oven for it but in my experience so far their toppings are a bit of a gamble. My advice is to mostly stick to classics, like the simple Margherita. The Dallara pizza is delicious, other than having a deep pinch of excess garlic (and I say that as a lifelong garlic lover who is always putting in more than the recipe calls for), so I might suggest the small tweak of requesting minimal garlic if you order it. The Pollo is okay, but you’ll probably like it more than I did as personally I’m not a great lover of provolone cheese (though I don’t mind it). The Calabrian is definitely to be avoided - way too sweet and overloaded - you’ll struggle to taste anything other than the cloying sauce they put on top.The bean soup is very good and I’ve enjoyed the other non-pizza menu items that I’ve tried so far.Overall, I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Most places can’t even get the basics right. Just watch the toppings.
Excellent environment and pizza isoutstamding!! Recommended 100%
The other day, we ordered from the for the first time via online platform and I felt that our order was undercooked. I contacted the store but they told me that I would need to contact the manager via e-mail. Though the crust was charred on the edges, the centers of the crusts seemed undercooked/not completely cooked (doughy toward the top of the pizza), and the crust was floppy and watery (it wouldnt hold up if folded). I understand that the one we ordered as soft crust may be like that but the sweet sausage with crispy crust option was not crispy, the carne was watery in the middle, and for all of them, the toppings would slide off if you lifted it out of the box, if the crust didnt break apart in the first place.I understand they can soften somewhat if in the box too long but I only live 5 minutes from them so not sure if thats the reason. After I tried to cook them in our toaster oven with one on top of the other with the toppings in the center, the crusts crisped up after about 10 minutes at 425 F.Apparently, their manager only works on weekends? I tried to contact them via e-mail and their website but no response after a week. With that, unless you want to re-cook your pizza, me thinks not!Mussels were ok though.
Great food, service, wine, and frozen sangria!
Best pizza in Houston hands down
Great tasting. We ate outside.
Ok where do I begin... lets start with Mr. Waiter, of which I have no idea what his name is... we are never greeted at all... just sit yourself....ok fine... I asked for a martini and his response is wow you said with such confidence... not knowing they dont serve it I asked why... his response was because we dont... ok smart-a $$...my friend orders a salad with chicken... words could not describe the look or taste of the chicken... so see for yourself... instead of the waiter saying he was sorry about our he wouldnt charge her... well he brought fresh chicken and still made her pay... oh no...i mean I could go on and on... I have it one star because there truffle cheese bread is good
Not only was the food absolutely stellar, but the service was unmatched! Misha (hostess/waitress) was working her butt off and checking on my to go order periodically while it was being prepared. She even threw in a free order of the truffle cheese bread sticks (which were insanely good, must try!!!!!) because of the wait. The ragu bolognese was also absolutely delicious.P.S. To anyone in charge: give Misha a raise please!
Great food! Masha (i think) gave us the best service we’ve ever had.
I have to change my review down one star it is a great place to go and grab lunch however this past time we went they increased pricing for lunch special from 10 to 15 and they changed the pizza available to more strict menu. I understand this is a business choice and still a good value for the food. But the price just seemed a little more steep especially when youre limiting the menu more.
New to Houston and I was excited to try this place out! Our pizza was a disaster. If you picked up a slice, your toppings literally slid off as the flaccid piece of pizza as it just limply hung out. I like to give the benefit of the doubt and so Im guessing it is because the place opens at 5 PM and our order was ready for pick up after 5:40 PM—so my guess is that our pizza might have been one of the first pizzas in the oven and the oven wasnt fully heated, yet. I would not recommend folks order pizza near their opening time.
Let me cover all the bases here. The food is really good here, I cannot lie. During the several visits my family has had, weve never really had a bad experience with the food. The biggest issue I have with this place is the ever-changing service, which has a tendency to be horrible. We havent been back for a couple of years now. We had a bad experience with that current manager, a white male, and Im not sure if he is still there. We went one night, and ordered appetizers as usual. Usually they take 30 minutes, but they took an hour. We were still waiting for the pizzas. 2 hours later, and they still had not come. We asked for the manager, which took another 20 mins, and he just shrugged and assured us that the pizzas would be out soon. At that point, it was 10 pm, and my kids were tired and hungry. We just up and left, and left $60 on the table. The manager came out in a rush and began yelling at me, threatening to call the police if we ever showed up again, etc. My daughter got out of the car and asked if I was okay, but the manager began yelling at her as well, calling me a pig in front of her face and shoving my money in her face. I just walked off, grabbing my daughters hand.We havent been back since.
I love everything Ive ever tried here!! their pizza with the truffle is to die for! the pastas and the cheesy bread are mouthwatering and honestly taste very authentic and yummy!! if the weather is good, sit outside!! its pet friendly too so its great!
Great location. I would like to try other stuff but I just cant pass on the pizza.
Fantastic pizza and pasta. First time in this place and I love it.
The pizza is amazing here and the lentil soup was delicious, but...Edit: Last night was a disappointment. Food was good, but service was non-existent. Our server literally left the restaurant, because of some personal reason, but didnt bother to tell anyone, so we were left alone the entire time, asking other servers for things, four or five times, and then not receiving them. When we asked to see the manager, we were told that there wasnt a manager there...
This restaurant the potential to be a stylish and delicious one. I have been here at least 6 times and the food is always delicious. However, you can decide whether to serve meals on time or whether to provide warm and accurate meals. Recommended for foodies around.
Great polite staff. Very clean respectful environment. Best pizza on Earth.
Small restaurant with unbelievable pizzas and pasta dishes. One of our favorite restaurants.
Great pizza, salads, appetizers. Consistently excellent food. Pretty good wines. Very nice outside dining when weather is good.
Absolutely fantastic. Staff was incredible as well. Will definitely be coming back!
Ive only been here for lunch, so my review is slightly limited. However, Pizzeria Solario has one, in my opinion, one of the best lunch specials in the loop. For $10, you get a choice of soup, a salad, and a personal pizza. If youre starving, its possible you could eat everything. But for the average person, you will absolutely have leftovers. Beyond the generous quantity and great price, they also offer a great pizza. A crunchy, chewy crust, cooked in an actual wood-fire oven may not quite hit NYC pizza standards, but it comes remarkably close. Although the inside is fairly small, they have plenty of outdoor seating (not great for lunch in the Houston summer, but pleasant at other times), and they never seem to be too busy. Overall, a definite recommendation.
Good pizza.
Excellent food, great service. Highly recommended.
This is what pizza is all about. It reminds me of when I got my first Lego box an was like is this what life is about at the age of 6? My mom told me that there was no Santa Clause. Instead of being offended, I considered myself more aware. That what Solario is. It has an awareness factor of what the meaning of pizza is all about.
This is a regular lunch spot for our group at work. The lunch special is a great value and great food too. Get the pizza salad soup combo for $10 and leave happy.Weve been about 20 times over the last few years. The pizza is one of the best in Houston. Love the margarita. Highly recommended.
Authentic Napoleon style pizza! Great happy hour and sangria. All the food is delicious! BYOB if you dont feel like buying there.
This place is AMAZING! Im from Chicago and know good pizza... This is the best pizza Ive had in Houston! Wood burning oven, nice decor, pleasant staff, and a half price wine bottle special on Mondays to top it off! Will definitely be coming back and recommending it to everyone! Keep up the good work guys!
Pizza, mmm, super satisfying. I love this place. Will surely make a return trip. It has a nice interior. Feels like a place in Los Angeles I loved.
Great pizza choices and a great local restaurant. Will return, we are four pizzas, really great toppings and crush, could have been cooked and crisped up a little more bit otherwise really great.
This place is awesome. Smaller than it looks from the outside it definitely qualifies as cozy. Wood fired pizzas and mostly house made sauces make everything in here taste great. They have a butterscotch dessert that is easily the best dessert Ive ever had in a restaurant.
Super nice people
Good pizza and pasta.
I went there on Thursday night, I loved the pizza and I was very impressed with the staff. I highly recommend this place for delicious pizza and friendly staff. Many restaurants could learn from their great customer service .
Very good pastas and frozen drinks. Great wine and beer selection as well! Their portions are large and they also do takeout.
The food is amazing, and the service is friendly! If you like sangria, try it frozen!
The pizza is delicious....many options of toppings and combinations, the crust is crispy, not overly greasy...everything is great. We had a fantastic waitress that delivered some of the best service Ive had in a long time. And...the atmosphere is great.
So this was easily the best Pizza Ive had in Texas. Perfect flop, great crisp. Filling and yet not heavy. I had the quattro fromaggio. Sat at the bar with my best bud and enjoyed the incredible lunch special. Really couldnt believe how outstanding this pie is/was... looking forward to a return visit to the kind of spot I thought only Existed the East Coast. Cheers!
Delicious food. Great working staff. Very welcoming the moment you walk in. They care a lot about customer satisfaction.
The pizza was amazing but we could not order wine given they said the individual that actually had their license was having legal challenges and therefore they lost their license temporarily. At first service was excellent but then when apparently the waiters friends came in, never saw him again. Never returned throughout the entire meal or even to bring our check. And all along we thought we were pretty nice customers. Had to eventually get someone flagged down to get our check for us. But other than that, we loved the pizza
A fav location for delicious Pizza. Everyone at our table was enjoying everything. The bill was reasonable I would say. This place has good reviews for a reason.
One of my top places for tasty Pizza. Got there about two, it was not packed. Staff treated us so kindly. The bill was reasonable I would say.
If you like authentic Italian style pizza it’s the best choice in Houston. You will think your in Rome. For American style ask for extra crispy with a little more sauce.
Delicious food 😋
Best pizzas actually I believe on the planet. Thin crust, slightly charred on the sides giving it that great wood oven crust. Totally Neapolitan. Truffle oil is a must of the white pizzas, or the pear and walnut that my wife is insane about
Its good wood fired pizza, probably top 3 I have found in this area of Houston. And the outdoor seating is great, pretty cool ambiance. But the last two times I have ordered take out, the order turned out to be wrong, however I was to be blamed, and still had to pay for it. Once maybe, but not twice. So probably best to dine in.
An incredible treat! A great neighborhood pizza place with a creative menu, high quality Italian ingredients, and excellent service! The only drawback is the wait times at peak during nights/weekends, the seating fills up fast!
Met a friend here for lunch. My first time so she recommended the lunch special....salad,soup and pizza for $10.50. I thought om a slice with all the other stuff. No, it was a whole, personal pizza!!!! And the soup was fantastic! Will go again. Nice spot.
So good! I absolutely loved the one with the chicken and such. Spent my 29th birthday in Houston and this was a great place to go with friends and chill and have a great time drinking and eating. Loved it!
The pizza is very good. The sofrito is not to be missed.. the staff are friendly and welcoming. Overall, probably the best place to eat in the Galleria area
Loved it! Service was great, knowledgeable and helpful staff. Pizza was crazy good. We had a couple of drinks (sangria wine, and a local beer) that were out of the world. Do your taste buds a favore and visit it. Youll be back, we will when we go back to Houston.
Great lunch special and just a unique ambience here. Love coming over from the office! The soffrito soup is off the charts good.
I work Sunday’s. My wife likes Solario so I ordered a Pepperoni and sausage pizza and a Caprese salad. They don’t deliver.Their pizzas are good when not rushed and over sauced.I know the young lady heard my order, as she repeated back when I called it in.When I arrive my pizza doesn’t have pepperoni. The same lady who took my order and went to the chef/owner/management and said they would fix it.I did not want to wait on another pizza to be cooked. He doesn’t apologize. Does not make eye contact. He simply removed the pepperoni from the bill. Not the pizza that I drove to pickup. Not the caprese salad.Just a topping.By the time I arrive home I literally have lost my appetite.I love supporting local businesses and establishments but own up to your mistake and take care of the customers that keep you in business. This will be my last order from Solario and cannot support their business after this experience.Poor customer service, incompetence and greed is my issue with Solario.
Great food and atmosphere (casual). Parking can be a pain, sometimes. Service is good but not quite as good as the food.
Probably the best pizza place in Houston. True Italian style pizza 🤤. Good location. What else is important?
Our new favorite pizza spot! We ordered to-go food twice, different pizzas, plus spicy tomato mussels and soup, and everything came out top notch and so delicious! I loved the Carne pizza and the pistachio one, my bf liked the one with olives and anchovies, but all in all it was all delicious.
Traditional sit-down restaurant with an inviting patio and attentive service. The pizzas serve one very hungry person each. The pastas are rich, fresh, and savory. The food prices are all reasonable. The wine is significantly marked up, but theyll often provide you a taste of the by-the-glass options, making it unnecessary to splurge on uncertainty.
Great staff and even better Food
Excellent service! Every time we have been the servers are attentive, informative and personalize the experience. The food is great and fresh. Definitely a favorite!
Good food.
Great burrata and focaccia. Even better pizza. I got the prociutto one with truffle oil. Just perfect!
