While the staff at the front office were all kind and helpful, I was not impressed by their eye for detail or craftsmanship in the back office. I brought in a necklace that needed a chain reattached to the pendant, what I believed to be a simple fix that would take less than a week became a 3-week long joke. I returned to the store once a week to pick up my necklace only to find that they consistently failed to remove residual flux (black marking) or even polish the necklace prior to pickup.To anyone trying to have something fixed or thinking about purchasing an item, go somewhere else. Ideally to someone that has an eye for detail and pride in their workmanship.

I have used Delton Hayes to convert my grandma’s ring into custom jewelry for my daughter. He took two diamonds from the ring and made her earrings, which I gave her for her 21st birthday. He recently used the emerald from the ring to make a ring for my daughter for her graduation from Baylor. She chose an existing setting that he suggested from a catalog. The result of both pieces exceeded my expectations. Not only were the pieces exactly as specified, the prices of the custom jewelry was reasonable versus other local jewelers who gave me estimates for the same custom pieces. The pieces were finished in the time requested, which was important because I needed them in time for special events. I highly recommend Delton for any custom jewelry or jewelry repair!

Okay, so I know the few thousands I have dropped at Dalton Hayes didnt keep them in business and the few thousands I wont spend there now wont close them down - I was a very minor drop in their bucket. However, they were wonderful about working with me in jewelry design. The last thing I did there, less than 2 years ago, was design a ring with a center diamond and 6 fairly large baguettes. Today I noticed one of the baguettes was broken in half. The ring is not a delicate design, in fact, it is quite chunky. I took the ring back thinking there must have been a flaw in the diamond or a flaw in the way it was set to have a diamond break in half when all their corners were protected and undamaged and the hardest hit it had ever received was an occasional bang on a pan while doing dishes. Shouldnt a diamond last longer than two years with normal wear and tear? I truly was surprised when their best offer was to give me an insurance brochure and suggest I take out jewelry insurance in the future. In googling low end stores and diamond places I saw most came with a warrantees- if it were their diamond and they did the setting, they would replace the diamond if ever there was a problem - but not so Dalton Hayes. Sometimes high end is in price only not in customer service.

It was somewhat embarrassing I tried to enter to buy a replacement band and battery for my watch but found the door locked. I walked away and looked back and people were waving at me to come back. I understand security but this was quite awkward and a bit embarrassing. I went back in after they buzzed the door but nobody spoke to me as I waited for several minutes there were other customers in the store being helped I could see that but a simple hello Ill be with you in a moment would have been appreciated. Finally I left they made me feel like they didnt want my business.

Delton Hayes assisted my fiancé in designing a truly beautiful and unique ring. He was available by text to my fiancé due to his work schedule & always replied immediately. After getting the ring I immediately needed a resize and they had it done within a couple of days! Everyone I have talked to on the phone and in the store, including Mr. Hayes, have always been so polite, caring, & ready to assist in any way needed. I can’t say enough great things about this jeweler! They have made another lifelong customer out of me and my future husband!

Had my watch serviced at this location after some time passed when I decided to wear the watch I noticed the glass had been damaged. I reached out to the store in hope to find a resolution after several email exchanges about the possibilities as to how the watch was damaged I was asked to bring the watch in. During the visit I pointed out the damaged watch to be then told that the damage wasnt caused by them. I believe customers service should extend passed words so it became very disappointing how I was repeatedly told the tech couldnt have damaged the watch as if accidents dont happen. Its one thing if the person who actually worked on the watch confirmed they didnt damage it but for someone to confirm that certainty is not possible. I would love to be offered a resolution and experience true customer service and update my experience so I will remain hopeful.

Ill never buy anything at an establishment that promotes an old world view of marriage. Their local billboard reads: long term wife insurance, while depicting a picture of a large diamond ring. What message do we, as a society, want to send young girls? That their worth is based on the size of the diamond their spouse buys them seems to be the message of Delton hayes.

All I can say is RUDE. I went to this store after work, and all I recieved was a rude attitude from the owner no less! Needless to say, I bought my $20,000 engagement ring from another jeweler. Their loss!
