We stopped by for the tour. Our tour guide was funny and informative. The barrel house was interesting and it was nice to be able to look at the dates and information on each barrel. After the tour, they gave a tasting that showed off the basic liquors they offered. You are able to purchase pours of their higher quality stuff and its not too expensive. Only downside is that it is a small facility and when they are busy you do get rushed around a bit. Overall a good experience.
My husband and I attended the distillery tour and had a great time. The tour guide was knowledgeable and hilarious which attributed to the really enjoyable experience. It was interesting to hear about the history and see the overall process and, of course, the tastings were the best part. We would definitely recommend a visit.
Really a great tour. Didnt know what to expect pulling up and never trying their spirits before. But it was fun. Lots of history and information in the tour. Probably one of the most informative. Only thing I think needs improving is the labels on their bottles. Dont know why, something just seems.....off. But cant recommend enough doing a tour and tasting here.
Fun stories and great staff. The ghost theme adds to the experience. This is a very small distillery tucked in an industrial park right off the interstate. Our tour guide who doubles as a labeler did a great job with her bourbon knowledge and the history of the brand. They are just now getting there own aged bourbon distillate into bottle with a five year age statement. Their special releases are noteworthy.
From start to finish what a great experience. Easy to book and pay online so we know we had a spot reserved. Easy check in process upon arrival and the tour started on time. Each bit of info was a lot of fun history to take in since Iβm from Northern Kentucky. The tour guide, Jamie was incredible, couldnβt sing her praises high enough! The tastings are really never for me but I gave it a whirl so Iβll still give it a 5 stars even though it was tough to get through. The shop was great and we ended up with some souvenirs. Would definitely recommend!
The tour was a great price. The tour guide did an amazing job. The tasting was part of the tour and you get to keep a shot glass. I highly recommend the Boone County Distillery!
The newly added event space and tasting room are an awesome addition to the Boone County Distillery that already boated one of the best tours on the Kentucky Craft Bourbon Trail! Ed have a fantastic tour with in depth knowledge of bourbon, unique processes at Boone County with a history lesson included. Definitely recommend a stop in to see the Bourbon Made by Ghosts
Fantastic tour - informative and humorous. Love that they allow dogs too - we were driving across the country so we had our dog with us. Very fun tasting too - tried things I normally wouldnβt have.
Very nice place for events. they also have a patio out in the back thats great for enjoying a smoke. bourbon is top shelf.
Came back to Cincinnati after having gone to graduate school there many years ago. Decided to take my son for a bourbon tour in KY. We really had a great time. The tour was a lot of fun. A lot of facts. Loved the bourbon. Hint of sweetness which was great. Also enjoyed their Winter/Christmas gin. Good enough for sipping. Definitely stop by.
Had a great visit! Always hear about them on Reds Radio, so we decided to find out what made by ghosts really meant. Great back-story and it was fun seeing the bourbon making process! Great tour guide + great bourbon tasting experience!
The place is really beautiful. Well done on all the designs, as well as the appearance and cleanliness of their work areas. Our tour guide, Jason, was knowledgeable as well as entertaining The presentation was informative without being overly technical or boring. Congrats to all at BCD on a job well done! Their products are excellent as well. Thanks for an enjoyable tour.
Great facility, great Bourbon and other products. It was neat to hear about the 100+ year history of the distillery.
The tour was fun. Got to know the history and learned a bit about bourbon. Bartender made a good drink or 2 and answered a lot of my dumb questions. I will be back.
I cant say I visited for a tour or sample. I was there to do some concrete work. I am, however, a bourbon aficionado. The smell of sour mash filled the air along with occasional hints of charred wood (I can only assume from the barrels. Upon completion I popped in a building filled with barrels and snapped some pics. I didnt taste the product nor did I even see it out of the barrel. Im going to buy some and try it. If its as good as the distillery smelled Im in for a treat.
I was in Cincinnati and the Boone County distillery tour was very accessible- about a half hour drive. Jason was knowledgeable, affable, and entertaining. I would recommend this tour to get a look at a small, up and coming distillery.
First time βtouringβ a distillery and learning about your history in comparison to others within the business. Everyone has a unique story and Boones is captivating. Great tour guide (The Mayor), excellent staff, and outstanding product! Thank you!!
Fun experience, great tour and love honoring the past with the history! Very good bourbon, will be back!
We had a great time. Friendly staff. We enjoyed learning the history. Very nice facility. Would highly recommend!!!
Loved it. Did the one hour tour. The story itself was very interesting but the way it was told made it better. Very nice place. Very nice people. Very well worth doing.
A small distillery that packs a big punch. We decided to do the tour with some friends visiting from out of town. I wasnβt sure what to expect and was pleasantly surprised at the fun history lesson given by our tour guide, Jason. Who knew a cool gem like this was just 10 minutes away from my backyard in Florence.
Great tour. The sampling was excellent! Loved learning the history of the brand and the staff was very friendly!
Whiskey was good, staff was friendly. Whiskey was at a higher price point than I am accustomed to but they did run at a higher proof than what you will typically find at your local liquor store which offsets the cost. Overall definitely recommend a visit!
The tour takes about an hour and is entertaining as well as educational. The building is nicely appointed throughout. Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The tasting includes four signature spirits, including their small batch bourbon which I am currently enjoying at home.
Very nice distillery, very short distance off the interstate. Its easy to get to and well worth the stop! The staff are super friendly and helpful and they mix up some great drinks with their bourbon! The Bourbon Cream is incredibly good! Flexible tour times and lots of great souvenirs to choose from.
Jason our tour guide was very knowledgeable and gave us the red carpet treatment! Great spirits made by Ghosts! Incredible history and a great facility!
We had a great visit, and very knowledgeable staff. He did a great job
What a great place to learn about local bourbon distilling!! Went with some friends the day after Christmas and had a great time. Steve, our tour guide, was unbelievably entertaining and knowledgeable. And of course, the bourbon is delicious too. The Bourbon Cream has got to be one of the best things Ive ever drank.
Great place! Tour was done well, informative, and tasting was interesting. Their products are outstanding.
Decided to try something new on our way into Louisville. Very glad we did. This was such a nice distillery & an enjoyable tour. Tour is $7.55/ person. A really reasonable price considering many distilleries are charging over $20 now... so I appreciated that! Our tour guide, Anthony, was super nice & friendly. We were the only ones on the tour so it was personal and a totally different experience than other tours weve done in the past. Their 12 yr bourbon is exceptional. Very small newer distillery, but definitely worth checking out. Look forward to trying new Bourbons from them in the future.
Bourbon and drinks were delicious. Tour guide was entertaining and insightful. Even helped us find a Barrel with our sons birthday on it whos name is Boone.
Awesome time all the way around. Very fun and informative. Awesome products
WONDERFUL ! Great Tour, Great Staff and Great bartender. Everyone was very friendly, the details were great and we had a wonderful time - WILL DEFINITELY VISIT AGAIN!
The tour was very interesting to hear about the history and the equipment used to make the products. Our tour guide was fun and extremely knowledgeable and the atmosphere made the whole experience a great time. The tastings were awesome too and lead me to buy a bottle of bourbon!
Great distillery. Best bourbon cream in Kentucky. Love the rum. Very unique with a bit of the barrel taste. A combination of light and dark rum. Worth the stop to get a bottle or two before it is gone for the season.
We had a great time touring the Boone County Distillery. Our tour guide was very kind and knowledgeable. We learned a lot about the history of Boone County bourbon and the distilling process. It was also great to sit outside in the rocking chairs with a nice glass of Boone County bourbon after the tour.
Our tour guide was charismatic and knowledgeable. We learned quite a bit of really cool facts, then ended with a tasting. A little but of product from all the steps of the process plus a little extra. We left with 2 bottles and 2 sweet t shirts. I will definitely be back!
Great tour. Fun facts and history too! Not really a bourbon drinker but it was still fun to do the tasting. Bourbon cream is awesome!
Very awesome facility. I have been twice. Great tour guides too.
Great tour and tasting. Would recommend this to everyone.
Great experience with knowledgeable staff! Joshua and Zac were gracious hosts. They explained things in detail and made the event entertaining.
Excellent tour guides, employees and tour. The bourbon is fantastic. Well worth a visit.
Place is so amazing!!!! They did alot of upgrades, the place is so nice. Jack and Susan were so nice. Answered every question and really helped us understand how bourbon is made. They make you feel like part of the family. Very highly recommend!! 1 last thing. The bourbon is awesome!!
If youre in the area, you must go!If youre not in the area, you should plan a trip!Great fun, great bourbon!!!
Very friendly and welcoming place. And to top it off very beautiful
Our tour guide was very interesting and had plenty of history and fun facts to keep us entertained. My first distillery tour so learned a lot about the process. The tasting at the end was great, as expected. Very enjoyable and would highly recommend it.
The tour was excellent. Detailing the history of the distillery. Excellent staff. And great samples. Even a souvenir shot glass. Well worth the $7.55 admission. Very interesting.
Fantastic tour. Great tasting. Awesome experience. Be sure to try some of their premium offerings if theyre available in the gift shop (i.e. anything cask strength - especially the wheated)
Long story short, this place is the best! We did the whole bourbon trail and went to a lot of places, this place was definitely the best. Our guide, Anthony, was the most entertaining, funny and wholesome guide we met. The tasting afterwards was a blast with very different products from what you usually get. The human-scale facilities really helps you understand everything thats going on and the tour feels like your part of the production team. Compared to the other big scale companies, this felt like it had soul.
The tour and tasting were great, and well worth your 90 minutes and $10. You see the whole small batch bourbon process and learn the history of Boone County Distillery and the current companys branding and process.
We had a great time on this tour. It was a family (adult kids) outing and it was informative and entertaining.
Amazing place with interesting history. We went there without any prior research, and took a $5 tour. I can honestly say that it was one of the best and most private tours I got in my life. Dennis was amazing. He took his time, and he most definitely knows his stuff. Also, you can buy a section of a used bourbon barrel for $5 (probably subject to availability though.) The 10-year old bourbon that they make is one of the best bourbons that I tasted (and I tasted quite a few:)PS the first tour starts at 1230 hrs, so dont rush there in the morning)
Great tour and tour guide. Love the tasting upon completion with an explanation on each product! Highly recommend!
Everything was good there, just what I expected.
Great information clean and very friendly!!!1
We had a great mini tour over the weekend!
Strongly recommend this place.. Everyone so nice! So interesting history. Great bourbon. They even stayed late to wait for our Lyft to pick us up!!!
Some of the best juice KY has to offer
Had a great tour guide and tasting experience here! Cant wait to see the new tasting room once the expansion work is complete. It was really interesting to learn the history behind everything and the significance of the 8. Seeing the rickhouse was pretty cool too. The tasting included a nice variety and you get to keep your glass as an added bonus. The prices in the gift shop are really reasonable. Id definitely come back again.
Jason was awesome! Great tour and would do it again!
We stopped by because it was nicely located on our way from central Kentucky bourbon country back to Ohio. Excellent tour but they have yet to release their own bourbon. They weave an intriguing tale about the ghosts of Boone county distillers. It will be interesting to see what their bourbon actually tastes like when itβs released. They must be confident because they are expanding their facility.
Omg. Tried this place on a whim and it has now become my favorite spot. The flavors are spot on if maybe a little milder than some bourbon. The spring gin is perfect and I swear the cream makes those Irish creams look bad. Its a small distillery with only 8 employees but Im sure they will continue to grow.
Wonderful experience. Such good people!! Thanks Jason for a super tour!!
Ive done several other distillery tours and this one was a great experience. Nice historical information and tasting. Bourbon was excellent and highly recommended.
Great tour, with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Bourbon isnt bad either!
We enjoy our visit to Boone Co. Distillery. Jason made it fun and informative. Come and take a tour of our distillery. Just kidding, its not ours, just the same fantastic name! ;)
We stopped here on our way back from a trip to southern KY. Itβs set back in an industrial park but the atmosphere inside is warm and welcoming. The staff was friendly and helpful. Staff remained completely pleasant when I observed them confronted by a whiny visitor who didnβt want his ID checked and had a tantrum about it. Iβm glad theyβre following guidelines to keep us safe and follow the law. We will be back! (And I really enjoyed the rye, bourbon, and bourbon cream.)
Alivia was excellent! Super fun and knowledgeable she shared a bunch of great information. All the staff seen were super friendly and welcoming. If your in the area stop by and see them you will be glad you did! Even if your not a bourbon drinker this is a great sight into history.
Great tour! Best wheated bourbon!
Awesome experience!! Staff was awesome! Will definitely be going back A+++
Had an awesome tour. Very friendly staff..tasting was also awesome.
I did a tour with my gf at the time a couple years ago and we had a great time! I actually bought the very first pin they sold thats still on my leather vest. I keep looking for anything Boone county in my local liquor stores here in Ohio but havent seen any. If I could get Boone county here I wouldnt buy anything else!
Ive only been to one other distillery (Makers Mark) and really enjoyed the small, new craft angle. Good history and presentation on the tour. The Tomahawk drink was phenomenal. I absolutely love the idea of seasonal gins and would totally buy them if closer (we live in MN). I do wish there was more merchandise and bigger sizes like 2XL as I would have bought one the other day. Any possibility of a monthly club where you pay by the month and a new liquor is sent monthly to try? Maybe in a .5 liter size?
Awesome experience and very friendly staff, me and my girlfriend loved the history information told to us about the distillery, and the drinks they can make you are awesome as well!
Great tour and even better product! Do yourself a favor and stop by if you are ever around the area.
Beautiful venue, friendly staff
Amazing bourbon and very knowledgeable about their bourbon!! Also got to try some gin and that was π₯
Great small batch bourbon, interesting story, and knowledgeable staff. If you want a beautiful craft bourbon experience this one of the best and they are expanding soon. Their single barrels are on point as well.
Really friendly, take the tour it is super informative and interesting. The Bourbon is phenomenal!!!!!
