Its clean place the cashier was very nice. The price of the items there is a little bit too high for me.

The food selection is very small and has a larger portion of processed and junk foods than most grocery stores their size. The rate they pay their employees is incredibly sad and they literally have zero benefits. I have no idea how anyone other than people who are economically coerced can even work here. Its obvious they dont quit because they are one paycheck away from homelessness.

This is one of the worst grocery stores I have ever been to. The cleanliness, organization, and selection are not even up to par for the prices of the products. Although the staff are nice, no one is dressed or presents professionally. There are not a lot of shopping options on this side of Independence. I wish this store took more pride in how they present themselves/quality of products. The SMELL/STENCH of the store is horrendous. Last minute option ONLY.

I would say for the general area, this is by far the best store for groceries.and whatnot.

Employee didnt know the difference between a water dispenser and a gallon jug. Everything is horribly over priced with very little selection helping to create a food desert and taking advantage of the locals. Also very small and dirty. Will never go back.

Constantly out of stock of various products, items frequently out of date or close to it, what little they do have if its not sold out is extremely marked up, the deli menu never reflects whats actually for sale and what is for sale is often old, stale, and gross. the only reason this place is still in business is because they were smart enough to set up in a low income area thats rich in food stamps.

They dont have the best deals but location is great for that side of Independence. There are not many choices and they do have a great selection of items for its size. It is clean and organized. You can get in and out fast if you are only needing a few items. Convenience is the key to this grocery store.

There prices have sky rocketed i wanted to buy some bacon 🥓 it was $7to$9 a lb and all there bacon looked old like it actually needed to be thrown out. There produce is about the best of any store on 24hwy Independence Missouri.

I want to acknowledge Becky in the deli department. She is so sweet and does such a great job in preparing fresh food throughout the day! Not to mention the food is pretty good!

We go because its close when we need groceries quickly. The checkout girls are always nice, but I cant say the same for customer service. They made a mistake on my bill and argued with me that they were right for so long I finally gave up. Watch the expiration dates on their products--they dont give you alot of time. Prices are no better than Hy-Vee or Price Chopper. Its for convenience only...

Ive lived close to this place for several years but seldom go to it unless I just need a couple of items quickly. Its a dump, grungy, smelly and most items are overpriced because the majority of their clientele are poor, many with transportation issues so they exploit them.

Just want to comment on the produce department is the best Ive ever seen it. The produce is fresh, organized and the dept. looks clean. Good job!

Dangerous Meat Department I dont understand why the health department allows this store to remain open.

The selection isnt great but its convenient and fast. Apparently sometimes you can buy 3 packs of beer wrapped like meat. I found it hilariously trashy and kind of wonder about the legality but +2 points for originality I guess?

I passed on getting lunch from the deli bc the woman serving food was wearing her mask around her chin.3 of the 5 staff were either not wearing masks at all or wearing them down around their chin.Normally I love the produce and butcher shop here.

Friendly employees. This is an older store but they keep it clean. The departments dont really stand out like in the newer stores.

It seems nostalgic in a lot of ways. You cab definitely tell its been there for awhile. But the staff was nice. The prices are fair and their meat case is insane. They have a butcher that cues some of the best looking ribeye Ive seen for a minute.

Just left. NEVER to return, after shopping there for at least 26 yrs. Loudly, Falsly accused my 28 year old son of shoplifting alcohol. He was wearing a leather coat and shirt/tie and dress slacks. The bottle was in my cart. We/he hadnt passed the cashier or left the store. She obviously did not see any thing being concealed. I asked her (the store manager, Donna/Debbie I believe is her name) to apologize to him. She walked away. She did state she would apologize to him, yet she never looked at him. She did apologize to me. I let her know that she could handled the situation better. I will be doing my shopping at the price chopper a few blocks away from now on. ( at least it will smell better)

Small and crowded but clean and decently stocked with an instore brand often cheaper than the name brands. Has a little service selling hot and cold foods. Hard to find some name brands or cheaper options. Its not a fully ranged store like Price Chopper or Hyvee. But if you needed eggs or milk, good place to go in quickly and get them. Friendly staff.

The store stinks, some of the cashiers are as slow as molasses, but theyre prices are good and the store is organized. However, Im not getting meat there ever again because I watched the butched sharpen the knife, wipe it on his coat, and continue to cut meat.

Only use because its close. This is not our first choice for shopping, and for bigger trips we go somewhere else. The cashiers are nice, but management could use some training for customer service. The food is overpriced, as mentioned by others already. The Produce department is very overpriced, for poor quality. The meat department sells questionable quality as well. So far the best meat weve gotten there was a frozen chicken. When buying boxed / shelved products, always check the expiration date. We have been burned twice now with spoiled things. This store could really stand some updating, and certainly a good cleaning. We buy here only when we dont want to go too far for a few items.

I came here to use their western union after going to 3 or 4 different places whos employees didnt know anything about the service each telling me different incorrect info before Lori finally saved the day. Explained everything in 5 min then Lori went out of her way to solve an issue in the system that tech support couldnt even figure out after 20 min or so. She was patient, understanding, and kind. Id come back just for her and the other workers great customer service.

4 older ladies that worked here all 5 feet from the entry smoking it up. Sick. Had to walk through a cloud of nasty cigarette smoke to enter the building. I truly have NEVER seen Laughing Cow cheese un-refrigerated. All the shelves in the dairy section were rusty and gross. This place hasnt had a facelift since the 80s. Looking severely dated on the in and outside. Pass on this place.

There are no cares in the world when it comes to anyone handicapped at this Apple Market. There’s only one electronic scooter, which is always dead. The manager literally did not care that I had to push a cart, and use crutches at the same time to get around the store. No one helped me take my groceries to my car, or even offer help with my cart. Plenty of store workers watched me walk by and did not care. I cannot even imagine the people that have it much worse than I do that cannot get around or have to go farther to shop because of the lack of accomodations.

The absolutely worst grocery store in independence. Rude employees, over priced food. Numerous health violations. Filthy back rooms. Several times I saw them changing expiration dates and perishables!. I avoid that place at all costs. They probably wont be in business much longer ripping poor people off.

Apple Market is the store I go to get meat. They have a butcher right there to help with anything you need or want. There meat department is clean and fresh.

Conveniently located but way overpriced on essential items like bread milk and eggs.

It smells like mold as soon as you walk in. I hoped it was a 1 time thing cz but it is not. I am always leery of what I get from here. Unfortunately, it is the only grocery in this area. every time I get meat it smells funny when i cook it; milk seems to goes bad faster.

Ive always shop here for as long as I can remember the staff are normally always friendly and they have most of the brands that I need the only problem is last night while I was shopping someone attempted to break into my vehicle which set off my vehicle alarm security and temporarily leaving me stranded and there are no security cameras out front therefore I will not be shopping there primarily anymore

A dirty restaurant I can understand a dirty grocery store is absolutely disgusting. Watch there dairy products as they are normally outdated prices are high and their best choice product line is nasty. Save your money and go one block south to save a lot.
