Ive been taking my cars here the past 4 years years. They are extremely honest, which is on top of my list when it comes to auto repair. Never had follow up issues with anything they fixed and prices are reasonable.

I took my 2008 Silverado to Stephens Auto Repair to get a cooling issue repaired as it was running about 230 degrees in town but would stay at 210 degrees when on the highway. I had this truck at another shop the prior week for this same problem and they had put two different new water pumps, a new radiator, a new thermostat and a new heat sensor on it and it still had the cooling problem so I thought I would give Stephens Auto Repair shot a fixing this problem. I stopped by the shop and talked with Jeff and explained the history of my problem with the truck and scheduled it to get repaired the following day. The next day I got a call from Jeff and he said they had not found what was causing the problem and said they thought it needed a new water pump and radiator. I discussed with him again the repairs that had already been done and both the water pump and radiator had just been replaced. After our discussion I decided, my mistake, to let them put another new water pump on the truck but not another radiator. When I stopped by Stephens Repair the next day I was told another new water pump did not solve the over heating problem. I told Jeff I was not spending any more money there and paid my $1100 bill and drove off with the same problem I had when I dropped it off at Stephens Auto Repair.

If you need a place to take your vehicle AND want to feel confident you are being fairly charged Stephens is the place to go. We also bought a used vehicle here and received a great price, no pressure sale. Just good people. What more could you want? I dont normally like to post such posts, so I will try to keep this short.1. went for oil change and to look over vehicle2. was quoted a price of extra repairs and I okd the work3. shop called me 2 hours later (work not started yet) with another price for more wrong with vehicle - I said no, told him to put my car back together I will drive it elsewhere and will pay him for the services completed4. Jeff refused to give me back my vehicle. HE REFUSED. He made up some excuse about being sued if I crashed it within one mile of driving it off lot. I said I would sign a release of liability, which I have done many other places, and my insurance would be liable as it always is.Keep in mind, my car was drivable. I drove it to the shop, have not had issues with it at all. I just went for a routine oil change.Here is the messed up part. He refused to give me my vehicle. I had to call the police to which they were unable to assist because it was a civil matter of him not letting me have MY CAR BACK. Jeff said I could finance the work through a company he knew of if I couldnt afford it or I had to tow it. I was 15 minutes shy late of picking up my child from daycare before they closed because he MADE ME TOW IT. I had to leave work early, I had to scramble around trying to find a tow I could afford, and I had to pay for a tow for literally 1 mile down the road to another repair shop.I told him 3x to put MY car back together the way it was when I dropped it off, I would PAY him for services completed, and he REFUSED me THREE TIMES. He treated me like I was a child, like he was looking out for me. No, he refused to give me my car. That is attempted theft. The police have never heard of such a shady scam to try to get me to finance the extra work nor allowing me the KEYS TO MY VEHICLE.Bottom line, I would not get work done here. There is a shop down the street called Orlandos. Go there for half the price and half of the work needing to be completed. I have never been so upset in my life and the police couldnt even help me with the attempted theft.

I was very impressed with the warm welcome I received on the phone setting up my appointment and the accommodation of a loaner vehicle. Deb took care of me. It continued with the communication from Jeff with the progress and diagnosis of my car. I felt that my vehicle was in good hands. The price of the service performed was fair. Nice place, great sales guy Gus. they have a great online sales presence. when I called them about a suburban they had listed on autotrader, Gus sent me extra photos and videos of the vehicle. when I flew in from Iowa to buy the suburban. Gus picked me up at the airport, brought me to their car lot and even offered to buy me breakfast. Overall great experience working with this place, especially buying from out of state.

I had some flushes done and filters replaced on my vehicle and Stephens Automotive worked with me on the cost. They were very informative and had my car back to me the same day, and provided a loaner vehicle while they had mine. I would recommend Stephens Automotive for auto repairs.

Hands down the best used vehicle buying experience to date! This F-550 was purchased from Jeff and his team to be used as a company truck for our maintenance department. Asked for a estimate quote for a pot hole I hit... my insurance was going to cover it.. i was never told itd cost for a estimate on a insurance quote... i even called back and had to answer some questions. Then when i came in to pickup my car and get the estimate... i was told itd be 148 bucks... now... id of brought my car back and got it fixed through them but since I wasnt ever told itd charge me to begin with (and Ive never had to pay for a quote anywhere else (Firestone or lithia body and paint) Im taking my business elsewhere. I wouldnt ever recommend a shop thats going to charge you especially when i would have been coming back. And now thats a lost customer.

Dropped our car off the night before and they had answers to us the next day by noon. They were able to tell us that one of the issues we took it in there for had a warranty extension at the dealership and that the dealership would be able to take care of that for us rather than paying to have it repaired. The rest of our issues they were able to have us in and out the same day. Always quick to answer the phone as well, and the gentleman who helped us was nice and professional.

Called Stephens looking for a mechanic who would tell us what needs done, what doesn’t, and who can fix it at a fair price. We were able to get in quickly and check all of those boxes!!! We will be back for sure. May well have found our new automotive repair home!

We just moved here and to have a vehicle act up within a month of getting here was, putting it mildly, stressful. I set up an appointment call online, got my vehicle in the next day and had it back that same day. They have loaner cars you can use for really cheap if you need to, which is great.They were exceptional in every detail. Up front and trustworthy (the two most important things to me in a service center) and they checked every box. When I got the we found something call, they were prepared to answer my every question, ready with a quote (which they actually came in under on!) and werent pushy or selling anything. Itd be a place that Id feel very comfortable with sending my wife alone or my friends who know nothing about cars because I know they wont get ripped off or end up with things they dont need... which is among the highest praise I can give a shop considering some of the things Im sure weve all witnessed or heard of. Theres definitely a reason this place has stood the test of time, and Ill go out of my way to come here if the need arises again. Seriously- this place was a godsend for us. I dont usually review places online unless Im genuinely impressed... so this should speak for itself.

We have been customers for many years. They have seen us through simple repairs to colossal mechanical problems. This visit was for a simple oil change, which it was. The weather, though, was a bitter -30° windchill. When I went to pick up the car (with a loaner they gave me and always have available), it was found in the garage. Jim said since it was so cold, he thought hed leave it in there and warm when I got there! Now THATS service! They are the nicest bunch of people - this is why we shop local!

After some bad experiences with several local repair shops, I decided to try Stephens Automotive after reading the reviews on Google. I called to have the oil changed and a few issues diagnosed and repaired on my Ford Flex. They were able to schedule me on fairly short notice. I dropped my car off, and Debbie was incredibly nice, even offering to rent a vehicle to me for the day (which I should have done b/c it was cheaper than the Lyft I took). The shop was also incredibly clean for a repair facility.The car was finished the same day, with the oil change and both issues diagnosed and repaired. It was significantly cheaper than the same work would have been done at the local Ford dealer. I will not hesitate to take any of my cars there in the future, or recommend them to anyone else.

I was recently in need of a new vehicle and did the usual search: Facebook, Craigslist, local dealers, personal referrals. I came across Stephens after searching for a while on Craigslist; their vehicles were better kept than most and they carried no salvage titles (which was my first concern). I stopped in and met with Jeff after speaking on the phone and he was very hospitable. I was between his vehicle and a couple others from some larger dealers, but ended up coming back to Stephens because he was a trustworthy guy and didnt pull any commissions from his sales, so there was no additional surcharge tacked onto the vehicles bill. Went in to look at a truck they just got in. This place always seems to have gently used trucks with great mileage. Found out that the truck I had my eye on was previously a fleet vehicle for a major agriculture company and was brought in from Oregon. That was great, as it means no rust from the salt we use during our Iowa winters. Jeff helped me out and was a pleasure to work with. We came out with a great truck for a great price.Later that night I found a small issue, so I called jeff back the next morning. They quickly fixed the issue, no questions and no hoops that I had to jump through.Would highly recommend choosing Stephens and will be going back in the future.

Ive been familiar with Stephens for over 20 yrs but never needed their services. Im pretty mechanically handy. My brother-in-law purchased a truck from them and was very happy with the product. I have a BMW 328i that needed a new battery, the battery registered with the cars computer and the brake fluid changed. The cost to install and register just the battery at the dealer was around $600. I got the battery, registration and brake fluid change for less than that price. Their service department is way more sophisticated than I thought. Not just a place to get an oil change although they do that too. Ill be using them for all my mechanical needs from now on.

Since I have been bringing my cars to Stevens for scheduled maintenance I have not had any major auto problems. My Lexus is closing in n 175,000 miles and our Caravan is closing in on 135,000. These folks fix what needs fixing and dont try to sell you on fixing things that arent broke. I trust them with both my vehicles.

Its also extremely rare to find a used car with all the maintenance performed on it. Most places just change the oil and call it good. This is not the case with Stephens. Our car had a new battery, accessory belt, oil, tires and brakes. They also operate a NAPA Auto Service Center on site, which gives you a good piece of mind that you are getting a quality car thats ready for the road. Another plus is that they are a family owned local business, which you see less and less these days. Long story short- Stephens is a awesome place to go for a great used car or service!

I have used Stephens service for many years. Repairs are always done right the first time and rates are reasonable. They offer loaner vehicles at a cheap daily rate. I appreciate the loaner program as I only own one vehicle. The entire staff is easy to work with and friendly.

Going to any automotive service location, you hope you leave your car with people of high integrity and expertise. Stephens Automotive provided that and then some. They were able to offer a rental car for the day, called during the day to detail to me all the work that needed to be done for the car, and gave the exact price that I was responsible for upon pick up. I did not feel pressured into all their services for the car, as they were honest about what was urgent and not. I would recommend them to friends and family.

We recently took our car to Stephens to replace our battery, and ended up needing some additional work done as well. Before we even took it in, Jeff was super helpful on the phone and told me what he thought was wrong and what I needed to do to get the car working again so we could get it somewhere to get the battery tested. We ended up taking it there, and then when we found out it needed additional work too, he was great at explaining what needed to be done and the cost of everything. I also appreciated that they had a loaner car for us to use while ours was in the shop - we have used a large local dealership in the past for repairs and they have never offered that kind of service! We will move all of our business to Stephens in the future!
