I have been using this business for over 5 years now. We have a fleet of vehicles, and these guys keep them running. The management staff is like no other, the mechanics are always thorough, and the most important to me is they are honest. Our company travels up and down the east coast and Id rather put my vehicle on a roll back and have it delivered to these guys versus taking it anywhere else. I have never had a negative experience here. I highly recommend this business.

I had a huge argument with Chris in that office today because of their dishonesty. I should have pushed the car to the next auto shop.My keep patriot had a transmission problem and was towed to CTR. Chris gave me a huge price (almost the value of the car >$4000) for the transmission replacement so I decided to look for a transmission myself. He then told me he will charge about $600 to fix the transmission. Fortunately I got the transmission for less than $2000. When I came to pick the car after he fixed it he slapped me with about 2x the amount he initially issued. I asked why he didn’t talk to me about these extra charges and he admitted it was his fault for not doing so. I was completely hoodwinked by this guy. They actually made me question my sanity because I took note of the cost of everything involving the car. He later took about $100 of thinking he was doing me a favor.They just happened to be close to where my car broke down. I do think they did a good job fixing the transmission but I won’t trust that guy with anything going forward.Thank you.

CTR has exceeded my expectations!! Chris was extremely nice & so helpful when I went in panicking because my check engine light was on. It ended up being a simple repair with just replacing my gas cap. This is my “go-to” place from here on out! They provide outstanding customer service!!!!

Like I told the tech at Certec today, I am the kind of person who likes putting the key into the ignition, cranking the car, and reaching my destination safely in it. Thats the whole amount of thought I want to put into a vehicle.I imagine Im not alone since there are all kinds of people in the world. If youre anything at all like me, you know youre getting ripped off by mechanics, but you dont know enough to stop it. If shady mechanics could, they would sell a flux capacitor to me since they know I likely wouldnt know enough to stop them. (I do know what this one is, by the way.)Thats why I want to share this review. Certec isnt like that at all. They genuinely care, and even when I get basic facts about my car wrong, they still take me seriously. They care about my vehicle and its service, and they want to be honest and forthright in their dealings with me. Im good at what Im good at, but cars are not a part of that specialty. They understand and want to make sure my vehicle is well cared for while in their shopThat kind of service and respect is hard to find these days, so this location is worth its weight in gold. Certec is where you want to take your car if youre a car moron like I am. They will not rip you off, will look you straight in the eye, and wont laugh if you have no idea what youre talking about. Ive been taking my car to Certec for over a decade and have never, not once, left feeling like I had a bad experience.This is also where you want to take your car if you know a lot about them since the techs are going to listen to your concerns and treat you well. The guy next to me in line today had a question about a specialized antifreeze system in his car. When they told him they couldnt service it, the tech made recommendations for local places that could help. Again, they care about their customers and want to see their cars get the service they need. Their goal is solid customer service, and they far exceed that aim by many, many miles.No matter who you are and how much you know about cars, this is the place you want to take your vehicle for service in the Concord-Kannapolis area. I cannot recommend them enough.

A few months ago my husband took his truck to Certec Auto to have a few things looked at. It was getting good reviews on Google at the time so thats why he picked it. They found a few things that needed to be fixed and supposedly fixed them. Cost us $500 to fix them and several hours of waiting. He wanted the cruise control button fixed they told him it would be another $100+ to dig deeper into his truck. Well we just put his truck back in the shop (a different one.) Were now having to fix the exact things Certec was supposed to fix. So now were out even more money. Save yourself some time and money do NOT go to Certec!!

The guys at Certec did a great job on my 06 Corvette, Im very picky on who I let work on it and they have earned my trust with other vehicles I have take to them in the past. Speedy service, friendly atmosphere and a fair price! If a project is too big for me to handle Ill definitely be back!

Had my car towed in because it didnt start. They diagnosed me without charge!!! Lucky for me it only cost me a battery. They made sure my starter and alternator was good without charge! Fit me in with no problem!

Recently got an alignment here and the entire process was a breeze. Scheduled an appointment via text message which was great and super convenient. For me, the price was very reasonable compared to others in the area. I go here to get my inspections, too, so definitely recommended 100%!

They did a great job for me putting in a thermostat and recharging the AC, quick turn around and Jay was great to work with.

They wanted 347.50 to change a oil pressure sensor would not recommend to anyone unless you like crooks what he is saying as a response to this review is a lie I have no check engine light on nor did I have on when I took it to them.

Good honest people and they’re less expensive than the dealerships. Most of their mechanics have worked at various dealerships so they have a good cross-section of “factory-trained” mechanics who share their experience when it comes to troubleshooting. Jay, the service writer, was especially helpful in helping me understand exactly what all needed to be done when the bearings in my A/C compressor went out. When I saw the pulley had literally pulled out of the housing, I knew it could get very expensive. Fortunately, the compressor was under warranty and they were able to keep my costs to a minimum, saving me hundreds of dollars over the dealership. Most repair shops don’t do that! Thanks Jay!!!

Jay and the guys know there stuff. I have taken my cars and trucks here for years and they always do a phenomenal job. And if you are looking for after market accessories Chris is your guy. Have bought a truck cover and plenty of Weather Tech mats from him. They treat you like family.

Called for an estimate on front brakes and they were a lot less expensive than Meinke and a few other places. I took my car in on a Sat. morning and also requested an oil change. Expecting to be there for several hours I made sure I took a book. I was pleasantly surprised when after 1.5 hours (I know!), my car was ready to roll. Even better, when I went to pay the bill, I was told that there was a 10% discount on the brakes! You cant get any better than that!

I dont usually leave reviews but these guys helped me out of a bind at 5:30 when they closed at 6. An awesome employee had to stay a little late to get me taken care of and I was much appreciative! They did what I needed for a very reasonable price as well.

Brought my vehicle in last December to have an alignment. After several hours I got it back and was told they couldn’t break bolts free to do full alignment. Flash forward to this December, went to Highpoint 3 days ago and front end start shaking like crazy. Got it to my mechanic only to find out that there was no reason I didn’t get full alignment a year ago. Ball joints tore up and the new 400.00 set of tires I purchased were destroyed as a result of the incompetent service I received. Now sitting back at tire store spending another 400 on top of the 370 In repairs to fix what should have been done last year. Will never use you again. Thanks for using up 2 days of my Christmas vacation.

Just great guys all around. I have had 3 of our cars worked on here and they are as fair and honest as they come. I even had a car ( old volvo) that needed more time and attention. Dave was great enough to find a Volvo tech and share with me. I feel safe sending the wife to them knowing that she will be treated with respect and treated right. When I lived and worked in Concord, I always had Certec work on my cars. They are an honest and fairly priced business who prides themselves in good customer care. They found a problem with my Santa Fe that even Hyundai couldnt diagnose. That resulted in Hyundai replacing the engine under warranty. The waiting room has WiFi, an added bonus if you are waiting for your car.Highly recommended.

Avoid this shop like the plague!!! I have had MANY repairs done by Certec Automotive over the last few years. So far almost everything that they repaired Ive had to have done again. They use the cheapest low quality parts they can find and charge prices comparable to dealerships. The latest issue I have had with them is my timing belt. Timing belts are recommended to be changed at 90,000 miles on my car. I had my timing belt and water pump replaced by Certec when I first got my car as it was overdue. Now at only 35,000 miles later, I had to have my car towed in because it died and wouldnt start. I had it towed to a different shop as I was tired of having issues with the work Certec has done in the past. The shop found the timing belt had torn and the engine had jumped time. They also found that the belt was not positioned properly and was rubbing on the inside of the housing. I had complained several times that it didnt sound right but Certec always told me they didnt hear anything out of the ordinary. So According to the tech that fixed it this time, the fact that the belt was not positioned properly is most likely the reason the belt failed so soon. So after paying almost $800.00 to Certec to replace the timing belt that should have lasted at least 90,000 miles, I had to pay out $700.00 to another shop 35,000 miles later to have the job done right. This is only one instance, I have had MANY more issued with the work done by Certec Automotive. I for one will never go back and I suggest anyone thinking of having your car repaired by them find a different place to go.

Ive taken my cars to Certec only for the oil change specials many times. Each time Im there, i see them over charging for very basic repairs, parts being marked up triple the average price, and inflated labor charges (This is why I only get oil changes here). I went in for an oil change this week and When i got my car back, the mechanic apparently had some sort of a sharp tool in his hand and cut my leather steering wheel in 3 places! Yes, the steering wheel on my car is now sliced across the bottom and gouged over the top. When I presented it to the manager and owner (Tim), I immediately got attitude and was told they dont see how this happened. Tim said, his mechanic told him he didnt damage it and he believes him, so thats the end of story. I was also told there is video footage of the shop mechanics, and when this was reviewed nothing was seen in the mechanics hand. When I asked to view the video, Tim hung up the phone on me. This is un-believable that a shop can actually take posession of your car to perform service in an area where customers are not permitted, then think they can leave a customer high and dry when an employee of the shop damages your car? I did approach the owner and give them the opportunity to fix this the proper way or file a claim with their garage keepers liability Insurance. Because they are choosing to be crooks and refuse to file a claim for their negligence, I am forced to file a small claims case against them and take them before A judge which I fully intend to do. Beware of these crooked theives who are constantly taking advantage of people in need of repairs and prey on their customers with the assumption there are no consequences for their actions. At some point people do stand up and fight back against this type of predatory business owners. There is a reason laws have been put in place in the state of North Carolina to protect consumers against this type of repair shop and quality of employees they employ.
