Cute little spot tucked into a row of shops and other eateries.Didn’t really see a menu for the food except for the chalkboard advertising general foods they serve.I got the jalapeño bagel with roasted poblano cream cheese. It was very good but a bit heavy with the cream cheese though some people might like that. Also got one of their specialty lattes, The Nutty Professor.Service was good. They were a bit swamped when I first arrived but handled it well, and the place ended up clearing out after a short while. There’s a good amount of seating available inside, and they also had two small tables outside.
The shop itself was very cute. The coffee was “eh”. I ordered a cold brew with a splash of coconut milk. The coffee itself tasted rather buttery. My friend’s choice, a lavender flavored coffee though i can’t recall the same of it- was very sweet and tasty. The blueberry scone he ordered, however, was more bland and doughy. It could have been an off day, so I will give PAX another shot next time I’m in town.
Its good. The pictures make it appear bigger than it really is. Opted to take coffee to go.
Their coffee is sooo much better than starbucks. You can drink this coffee and it will drop you into fourth gear real quick! Addictive. Did I mention this place has a great vibe?
Great little coffee shop in historic downtown. Really good coffee and friendly staff. Will go back for sure.
Four stars because it’s in a great location, great town and the atmosphere is wonderful. Two people were working the barista, one was really friendly the other one was really not.I requested a large no foam latte with soy and received a small $5.17 ... with foam: lots of foam.… No big deal I didn’t say anything but was a little surprisedFor stars also because they have free Wi-Fi and I really seriously needed Wi-Fi at the moment so thanks guys appreciate it very much
Absolutely adore this coffee shop! We stopped and had a coffee and some delicious bagel sandwiches. Its decorated so cute and the staff was super friendly. Will stop in again next time were in the area for sure.
Good coffee, blueberry scone, and a cowboy cookie. A nice way to start the day!
Have stopped here the past few years on a trek to Marfa. Their cold mocha is just delicious. The place is so soothing. And the staff is so friendly.
I have a pretty complicated way I make my coffee, but they accommodated me happily. And this coffee is amazing! I get coffee delivered from all over the US. This had amazing flavor. Tasted great and was fast! Need to come by if you haven’t.
Great staff—always friendly and say hi every time you walk in. The second time you walk in, the “hi!” is more like, “hey! You’ve been missed!”Great drip coffee, and my wife likes the lattes. Location couldn’t be better. Love to see stores like this helping develop downtown.[updated 5/26/19] There’s new management and while the former management was good, perhaps the biggest changes from a customer standpoint are: free refills on hot coffee (only Pint and Plow has this previously), and live music on occasion. The new owner is usually on site overseeing operations.Love this place.[updated 11/9/2019] gorgeous fall day in downtown Kerrville, and the two trees at the end of Earl Garrett Street toward water are in full fall foliage.
Some of the pastries can be a bit dry, but these peeps are sweet so just let them know! The coffee and teas and chi lattes holy smokes they are amazing, if you want yours tweaked a bit just ask they are super accommodating!!!! This is a small business that is doing it right so make sure you support!!
I love Pax.. salads best in town! And they always have the nicest doggy Bone biscuits, for my chiwheenie, Baby.💜💖💜
Review based off only one visit, one drink. Plain latte, 12 oz, really good. Very pleasant to drink, smooth, flavorful but not bitter or too strong. If youre super into the nuances of espresso... then you probably arent reading my review... But if you just like espresso + milk drinks, youll probably like this place.I just got my drink and left, but the place looked nice and cozy. No one in front of me in line and the drink was ready in like a minute, it was amazing!Definitely coming back here!
Very good! Visiting Kerrville from Houston.Came here first thing in the morning with my best friend. Had the turkey sandwich and a coffee. Both great! Very reasonable price. Staff was friendly and masked. Would recommend!
Look for PAX if you love welcoming friendly helping people. One stand out is Tess. Tess is A ray of sunshine🌞 andmakes visiting PAX a place you dont want to leave & look forward to coming back soon.
Service was extremely poor. Only 2 customers at the store and we waited and waited.... 3 of them and not even a helloNot recommended.
Love the smell and texture of the coffee, this place is where you can relax, surf the web, and hang out with great people.👌👍
PAX has excellent coffee and a friendly set of baristas. Looking for a great local coffee shop? This is the one.
I am new to the San Antonio Texas area. And I took a drive to the hill country and stopped inKerrville and found this wonderful coffee place. Are usually have a coffee latte but decided on a chai latte instead. I love the ambience of the place And would recommend it to anyone to stop in. My latte was superb I go back in a heartbeat and wish they were more coffee shops like this in San Antonio closer to me.
Had a great time here. The coffee was great and the food was even better. They recommended the Parmesan Bagel and the lemon dill cream cheese, which was so good I’m willing to make the hour drive back. My boyfriend had the avocado toast and said he was also tasty. Definitely worth the stop.
Great atmosphere and staff was lovey.
Tasty coffee and they made my latte with stevia!
Lots of outlets, comfortable seating — they have couch-type seating against the wall. Lots of natural sunlight, skylights and big windows. The music isn’t overpowering but it’s constant.Good coffee — definitely not the best latte but it’s good! They do have a gluten-free bagel and a bigger variety of other bagels.Located in a nice area of town!
Rude young people working. No greeting or acknowledgement and they were NOT busy. If your an older couple, you apparently do not exist.Had to walk out after the young girl made a snide remark after we asked if we could order. However, as we turned to leave, she acknowledged the young man behind us. Sad! 1st time and will probably be our last when we come to visit friends again!
Good coffee. Hard to communicate through mask but got it in the end
Went later in the afternoon during a cold day. First time visiting this place and think it will be my last. Ordered a latte and can say it was good but not great at least for the price to the size of cup...I guess I rather go to Starbucks where I love it and its the same price and bigger cup. The ambience was gloomy.
We reached here on a cold and drizzly evening, drove 50 miles but the drive was totally worth it. We tried kervillian and bees knees and both were amazing. Their menu is full of surprises and the place has a chic vibe to it
This was my first time here at PAX Coffee and Goods,The Employees here welcome you as you walk in the door, they treat you as Family an are very warming, With Big smiles 😃I told them i would definitely be back to see them,An to get some more of tnere amazing food.May you all be blessed in all you do an receive Aman 🙏.1-25-2021.
Hot coffee and quick! Staff was friendly. Highly recommend a visit
Absolutely the most amazing coffee shop in the Hill Country. The atmosphere is relaxing and yet sophisticated. The owner Heather and her staff are very professional and accommodating. The coffee is alway strong and full of flavor. The pastry are out of this world with flavor. Would definitely recommend that you make this apart of your visit to the Hill Country.
Super quick, nice staff and the cookies are amazing
Coffee seemed weak. Americano reminded me more of a drip. And the matcha was more milk flavor than anything. My wife had a honey latte that was on special. that was pretty good.
Cute cafe with great coffee, my oat milk latte was perfection. Kind service as well.
Coffee was just terrible did not taste good at all !Baristas were very rude and not welcoming at all ! Worst coffee I ever tasted before
I’ve never been to Pax before and was driving through with a need for an afternoon pick me up. Place is super cute, loved the vibes. Again, I was the only customer wearing a mask and people looked at me like I was an alien. Coffee was decent, can’t complain, but the service was just sad. No real greeting and when my coffee was ready she just put it down and kept talking to someone else. I asked (politely) if that was mine and again got the alien look like duh. Will honestly say I won’t recommend this place to all my coffee loving friends and family.
Great all around
My new fav coffee stop in K-patch.Walking into this place feels like I walked into a coffee shop in a romantic/comedy movie. The ambiance is spot on. The staff very friendly and prompt. The coffee is gonna run you about the same cost wise as the big box change that shall not be named, but the flavor and aroma are no comparison, and PAX has them beat hands down. There is no drive thru window, and I love that. The vibes from this place are ment to be experienced in person, not just as a grab and go. If your ever in downtown Kerrville stop in, its worth it.
Good coffee. Better yet it isnt Star Bucjs
Sent a coworker to pick up some bagels for breakfast this morning and the two girls working the counter acted uninterested and even forgot one of the bagels. They were more interested in playing on their phones, eating, and talking to each other and ignoring the first request of forgetting the 2nd bagel.
Cutest little coffee shop in the heart of Kerrville! Yum bakery items and yum coffee. Its basically across the road from the river so you if you dont want to sit inside you can easily collect your goodies and go down by the river.
Great coffee ☕, friendly staff, great location.
Great coffee, great food. Always busy.
Love this place so good and very friendly 😊
Friendly staff, great pastries, terrific coffee in a beautiful location!
Good ambiance, nice music. Much better than Starbucks if you want to relax, even on an empty day that place is loud. PAX have machines in the back so you dont have to hear all that noise. The staff are courteous and knowledgeable about their products. Good selection in their menu without all that marketing junk to distract from the product. Not many people ask what is in items before ordering but I appreciated them answering my questions. It was very quiet on a Sunday afternoon, possibly because of COVID-19 worries but they were open again and the community loves it!
Amazing coffee. This place was wonderful. It has a great atmosphere and awesome coffee
Good coffee.. Lovely baristas.
Very cute little coffee shop in a pretty area of the town. The ladies there were sweet. Enjoyed the coffee they make it right!
Amazing coffee shop. Great coffee and friendly staff.
I was super stoked to try the bagels with their exciting variety of cream cheese. They didn’t have any bagels. Ok sure, love to try your smoked salmon on panini. They didn’t have smoked salmon. So I ended up with the grilled turkey sandwich and iced chai tea. It was good though the company of numerous flies didn’t allow me to fully enjoy my sandwich. I might go for the drinks again but idk about the food.
Stopped in with my Dad for some coffee. Im trying to get him into the high qual brews in the hopes that hell step up the coffee game at home, and this seemed to definitely do the trick. We both really enjoyed some lighter-roast Ethiopian bean and avacado toast. Even my old dad remarked on how much he enjoyed the vibe-- the atmosphere is great and I thought the music was at exactly the right volume (loud enough to contribute meaningfully to the ambience, and quiet enough not to be annoying and distracting). Lovely service too. Very glad we went, would go again.
Always the best service, always prime coffee and treats and nicest owner ;)
I love this little place! It has such a cute atmosphere. Their drinks are delicious and well as all of the food I’ve tried.
What can I say - this is a winner.Wonderful ambiance and great coffee right where you wouldnt expect it. Highly recommended (even if the first time the espresso was over-extracted; it happens!)
Great coffee and a really cozy atmosphere. They have nitro coffee on tap if thats your thing!
The coffee is amazing, the ambiance is incredible, and the staff are great!!!! Love this place
A Beautiful coffee shop with great options for coffee and food. Ive met with a few friends here and the atmosphere is funky and chill. Love it!
PAX Coffee & Goods: A Kiss of Peace in these Tumultuous TimesThe jewel of Historic Downtown Kerrville, Texas, PAX Coffee & Goods is more than just a coffee shop with loads of aesthetic appeal. It serves as a great place for the Hill Country community to gather and connect with one another live and face to face. The shop is a dream realized by Heather, the owner and operator, who herself is an amazing story of accomplishment over seemingly insurmountable odds. Just like Heather, the baristas are friendly, knowledgeable, and are quick greet you and to assume their duty stations as soon as they hear the familiar creaking of the antique front doors. I typically receive my drink order before sitting down in my favorite spot. The coffee is always on point! The new food menu is crafted to suit whatever your appetite may desire. From delicious pastries baked daily on-site, fresh and crisp salads paired with zesty dressings, as well as made to order artisan sandwiches grilled to cheesy perfection, there is something for every palate. My personal favorites are the almond joy cookie, the “just another salad” salad, the smoke salmon sandwich, and the 16 ounce iced americano. This review is long overdue. I have spent a lot of time in PAX over the past two years and I have developed a strong fondness for the place and the people. It has given me a place to sit, take a deep breath, and be at peace while I take a break from the crazy world just outside it’s windows. Finally I suggest everyone be leery of any one star reviews of PAX. I assure you their assessment is dubious at best. I encourage you to come and experience for yourself. You will not regret it!
Stopped in with my daughter.... she found your place on Yelp. You have the sweetest coffee place that I have been to.! Absolutely fantastic
Pax is allowing customers in without masks, 2 when I was there, even though they are under a state order to require masks. Its a tiny place without ventilation. So possible Covid hot spot. If you believe in science, you might stay away. Ritas Tacos was also not enforcing.
Cute place with rustic charm and good coffee.
Best Coffee in Town, great atmosphere .
Much better than Starbucks. Cool coffee shop in Kerrville.
PAX is always a cherished place to visit on my trips back home— love the coffee, environment, and local feel!
Out of the way, coffee shop. Very good coffee and cookies.
The coffee is not very good. They spend too much money on there packaging and not enough on their coffee.
The coffee, delicious sandwiches, and wonderful ambience! Skip Starbucks and come here instead!
Every time I have gone here it has been top notch. Great quality food and amazing drinks! I highly recommend visiting this location
PAX is my go-to spot for my morning oat milk latte and is a wonderful atmosphere to finish up my work and wind down for the day. Davis knows my usual order and its always perfect. The drinks, food and service are exceptional!
Great coffee. Fabulous people. This is the place.
Customer service was terrible. I knew we were in trouble shortly after we ordered. It took forever for our lattes and bagel to come out. While we were waiting, I saw two other customers receive incorrect orders. When my wife tasted her bagel, she realized they had put the wrong cream cheese on it. When I tried to return the order because it was incorrect, the staff initially didnt want to accept it because she had already taken one bite. To add insult to injury, the staff member then attempted to tell me he had already offered my wife the correct order. After this debate, they did finally give me the correct order. It certainly was not worth the hassle. We will not go back.
I paid around $7 for a large iced coffee. Not only more expensive than Starbucks but also tasted terrible. Not sure if it was coffee or milk put in it. Maybe if I wouldve went with drop coffee it would be better.Usually I goto local coffee shops because theyre cheaper than Starbucks and have better coffee. This did neither.
Nice folks, good pastries, bagels etc and a good selection of excellent coffee and teas. It is good to have a local coffee house that is real competition for the behemoth👍
This place is awesome! Great coffee and the Latte was the best I’ve ever had. Get a scone to go with it. Just trust me, you will eat every last crumb. The decor is very relaxing and enjoyable.
PAX coffee is amazing!! I work weird hours so coffee is really important and I won’t go anywhere other than PAX. The coffee may be good but the attitude of the staff is even better!! Check it out if you haven’t already!!!
Found this little gem on Sunday 9/15 and just love it. The employee was great and sweet. We had just had breakfast but picked up some great goodies for later. The chocolate chip cookies were soft and full of flavor, we got bagels and coffee cake (which I have to admit is better than mine) this is such a quaint fantastic place I cant wait to get back.
These ladies were so patient and helpful! Great alternative to SBX
Cute place! Great coffee and friendly service!!
Liked the design and staff here. Not a fan of their latte but their hot ham sandwich was one of the best I’ve had. It’s also a fantastic location in old downtown Kerrvile.
Great customized hot drinks!
