AAMCO was recommended to me by a tow service. I walked in, they promptly performed a battery assessment and determined my battery needed replaced. Nick in the front office provided excellent customer service. The new battery was obtained and installed quickly and I was back on the road in no time.

This place is great! Free quotes, fast service and great customer service. Nick has always been very helpful and fully explains any issues. I never felt like I was being taken advantage of.

Had problems with a warranty transmission through a third party company, as well as with a sister shop. With no head ache to myself, they were able to effectively communicate between the other shop and the warranty company to quickly get the issues resolved. They kept me in the loop the entire time, which I greatly appreciated. Even though the shop was not at fault for the faulty transmission, nor was I, they were able to quickly, effectively, and at little cost, finally fix my transmission. Great shop and will definitely recommend in the future.

NEVER USE AAMCO IN LAFAYETTE!!!! We are beyond frustrated! They have had our Jeep for over 2 weeks because they said they would look at it the next day. That is the only reason we went to them; becuase they could fix it soon! Now after all this time they call and tell us to tow it somewhere else because they dont have the time to do it!!!! Now we are at another mechanic who cant fit us in for 2 MORE WEEKS who we would have gone with originally if AAMCO had not lied to us in the first place! It will be a month now before the Jeep is even DIAGNOSED! Not even repaired!!!! So incredibly frustrated.

Ive got an older vehicle thats been having AC issues. Got it checked while I got my oil changed and they were very helpful because of this hot summer! Great service.

This place was very busy and overloaded like the rest of the country but they took the time before they were scheduled to even be open to diagnose my problem, walk me through what had previously been done wrong and what could possibly happen if not corrected. They refused any money for the help and knowledge and they didn’t receive my business on this visit but I promise you that They have my business for sure.

I came in at 4:20 for a 4 o clock appointment. These guys were kind enough to do an oil change despite that, Nick went out to buy an oil filter instead of asking me to buzz off. 10/10 service, you have earned a life long customer!

The guy originally quoted me a reasonable estimate for an oil change, paid and had it done. Only one month later and I already had to take it into a shop, apparently the guy didn’t change my oil and just took the money. Avoid at all costs, the other reviews must be paid actors.

This shop took my car in for an oil change and to check a possible leak in a tire, and sent it back with the oil “changed”, no issues found with the tire, and with 2 oil leaks that would result in a $900 repair. When this same car was brought to a shop that my family trusts, we were told that the oil clearly hadn’t been changed, that there were no leaks to take care of, and that there was a nail in the tire that was then promptly fixed. Basically AAMCO attempted to take advantage of me and fix problems that weren’t there, and not fix problems that actually were. Incredibly unprofessional and truly a scam. Would give a 0 if I could, do not go here.

I really have no complaints, Corey was great to work with. He was the one I spoke with when I dropped my car off and he was the same one who called me each time to update me, therefore building a trust. He explained everything and was never pushy for a decision. He always called right back and answered quickly if he could. My car had been taken to two separate places before AAMCO got it and both places failed to diagnose the problem correctly. AAMCO was very thorough and I have had no issues with my car since getting it back. With two young children to drive around, I feel safe knowing I can take it anywhere because they fixed it. This shop was recommended by the tow company. Excellent service rebuilding my transmission and replacing front brake calipers. Friendly staff. Great location, in walking distance of hotels and shopping. It took three full days for the shop to finish everything, but I am glad we came here.

Fair, expert, and conscientious. Highly recommend for transmission service, throttle body/intake system maintenance, and even brake work - all of which they have done on my vehicles. Importantly, they will also NOT do work if it isnt needed ... which is something I very much appreciate in a good mechanic!

This place has save my bacon (and my car) several times now. Very friendly service, fair prices. Everyone I have talked to here does an excellent job at explaining the issues with my car, and coming up with a plan to get them fixed. I have never felt pressured by this location in any way.

I heard a noise when I drove my car and i thought it was my wheel bearing So i had my son look at my car. So he recommended that I take my car to AAMCO and have them look at it so i did it turned out that it was something bigger it was my transfer case But they fixed the problem now my car is back on the road and runs better I recommend any one that they do awesome work.

I recently took my car to get breaks done because I was having to push harder on my break pedal to make my car stop. When I dropped it off the manager Corey was nice and very helpful. He assured me that they would fix the issues that I was concerned about. So after about 1 hour he calls me and tells me I need rear breaks and drums and said it would be about 2 1/2 hours to do the work so I said ok go ahead. So later on i get another call and its Corey and he tells me that when they were doing the work on my car they noticed that when they pulled some rubber back from the cylinder that fluid leaked everywhere so now I need cylinders too. Im just thankful that they fixed my vehicle for me and that they were very thorough because I could have had an accident.

I started using AAMCO of Lafayette when I started driving at age 16. I initially used the company because I had a connection to the owner and his family. However, I have continued to use AAMCO over the years because of the unmatched customer service. The service members truly care about your needs and do everything they can to fix your car at a low cost. They are open and honest about what they are doing and I have never experienced that elsewhere. Even while attending school in a different city, I used AAMCO of Lafayette, because I trusted them. To say that you can truly trust a company is rare, but it is the case here. I would and do recommend this company to anyone who is in need of an auto repair.

Lost the transmission on my 97 GMC pickup truck. Called Tom at AAMCO Late Tuesday afternoon. They towed my truck that night(for free) to his shop. I had my truck back by Friday afternoon. 12 month/12,000 mile warranty. AAMCO communicated with me through the entire process and I felt that they did a superior job both with my truck and their service to the customer. I recommend them.Nobody likes having to have a transmission worked on. But AAMCO did it quickly and my truck is on the road again.

We were just there a couple days ago and I must say we were very impressed with the professional and super friendly quality service we received there. Transmissions problems are a real headache, but these guys make good on their promise to provide the quick service we have come to rely on. Honestly I would have found a way to do some sort of review anyway, they deserve it. Thanks guys:)

I VERY much recommend using AAMCO of Lafayette for any auto repairs, including transmission work! Everyone there is very nice. They have outstanding customer service and they dont try to overcharge you. I am extremely pleased every time they work on my car. I even drive all the way from Indianapolis, because I dont trust anyone around here working on it!

This place will tell you they can fix your car for a smaller amount ofoney but then jack the price way up. Dishonest and hard to talk to. Communication is way off. Full of lies tricks and tripling and quadrupling repair prices. A bunch of crooks. Greg and Corey will tell you your timing belt snapped and you need only $600 to get it fixed but willing ly and tell untiknowingly wontl later that you actually owe a $3500 repair bill to really get it fixed. Place is dishonest and top of that a rip off. Its not just aamco, its everyone else too in town, stay away from Lafayette if you want to get your car fixed

Wish I could give them a zero. This place takes advantage of women thinking they do not know any better. Got work done on my car that was not needed on top of that the work that they did do was terrible. They installed parts that did not work. I no longer have a car because of them. I would not recommend them. Ive been trying to get them to settle this issue since June 2016. TO THIS DAY THEY ARE STILL IGNORING ME.

DONT GO. I wish i can give 0 star if I can. Extremely bad experience. They charge you any money they want depends on if they think you know the market price of the service you need. After asking for the same person 3 times he gave me discount at 56% off compare to the first sales quote. However, they asked for extra $500 for removing a single rust nut in the process. (they already removed a few of those nuts before they found out there is one on the same place that they couldnt get it off as usual.) We ended up paying the labor fee they already did so they can put those nuts back to my car and we left he shop. (the manager even try to make me pay shipping/extra fees for returning the parts he said he ordered. They started doing the repairs within 2 days after we took our car in. Do you really think they ordered the original part from factory and let them ship to the store??? I doubted. ) We took our car to dealership, the price quote (including if there is a rust nut needs to be removed) was $200 LOWER than the discounted price AAMCO try to charge me before they ask for extra $500 for the rusted nut. LOL

This was the first time I had ever been there and the work was very personal and I highly recommend anyone to go there.

I have had my car at the local store recently for several issues. They did everything in their power to locate the problems and get them fixed as quickly as possible. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. I had no concerns that I was not getting excellent service at the most cost effective way possible. They are the only service center I will use.

We were very pleased with our experience here. There were a few issues with our Dodge Caliber that they were able to fix; others they recommended we discuss with the dealership. We felt they were honest in their assessment of our vehicle as well as cost.

This shop is a top rate outfit! I was from outa town, and had a bad leak on my transmition. These guys took on my truck and stayed with it all day and got me back on the road at a respectable price! Tom and his staff did what GM could not do. They got my truck and my business back up and running in one day due to a faulty transmission that GM wanted to take over a week to fix. Thanks to AAMCO I was only out one day. That is quality service!

If giving this place zero stars was an option I would do it. I came in because my belt fell off and the pullies were worn out. When the belt came off it hit the water pump and busted it. After working on the car for a few hours they came back saying the water pump was busted and it was a separate job and unrelated and they would have to charge me $450 more. After doing research I found they were wanting to charge me 3 times the amount any normal mechanic would typically charge. I paid for the work that was supposedly done and was told not to drive it. When my dad called about the car he thought he had the answering machine but was actually hung up on and later told the car was fine to drive 3 hours even though the water pump was pouring coolant out. He went to pick up the car on a pull truck and brought it home to find that the work they said they had done and the parts I was charged for did not actually happen. The belt was new but not put into place, the pullies were still old and worn out, and the screws and bolts were only finger tight. I paid almost $400 for work was incomplete and done incorrectly. I will never be going back there again and would discourage anyone from going there. The staff however, was friendly to me. I just wish they had done the work they said they did and charged me a fair price instead of steal my time and money. If you have an issue I would just bypass them and go to Walmarts auto center in the same parking lot because even they would do a better job.

Found myself in a bind with a dead battery, after Jumpstarting it and going to oreillys to get one and get it installed....oreillys said it was too cold for them to be outside. I purchased the battery but with my husband being out of town I needed help. Joe here at AAMCO was very understanding and helped a distressed mom in need. Cannot thank them enough for their concern, and compassion. This world would be much better with more people like this.

I am not on expert on transmissions, but I am a mechanical engineer as well as own my own Offroad design company and I have been working on cars my entire life, so I decided to rebuild my own transmission. I ran into some problems, so I figured it was time to take it to the professionals. The only problem with the vehicle was that I it would not go into 5th gear or reverse. (Ended up being very easy fix, but I will get to that) I took my car to the shop because of their high Google ratings. When I got there, the guy at the front counter took my keys to take an initial look at the vehicle he comes back in and asks if it is a manual or automatic. This should have been my first sign. It seems like an initial look for a transmission problem would entail looking to see if it was manual or automatic. But he said he was going to give the keys to his guy and he would look closer. About 30 minutes later, he comes back and says that it totally needs rebuilt, the synchros are bad (I replaced them the day before) and they wouldnt even touch it because of all these problems they had found. They would only put in a new one. I found this very strange because I may not be a transmission expert, but I know enough to know its a good transmission, and did not need a new one. He said he would call me later in the evening to give me a quote. (I never recieved a call) when I went out to get into the car, it did not look like it had been moved at all. I own a Offroad design company and love my car more than anyone should so I notice much more about cars than your average person and the car had not been moved or even started since I parked it. (I could not see my car while waiting, but I would have heard the Jeep start, It is very loud, and it never started while I was waiting). After all of this I towed the jeep to transmission shop 2 hours away because I have had good Experience with them in the past. It only took him an hour and now my Jeep drives perfectly. Could not give AAMCO a bad enough review. I really do not know how they have 5 stars at the time of this review. If I could give 0 stars, I would.
