I’m back again! LOVE this diner. The ladies are awesome so is the food and service. They are always super busy but their timely and nice. They know how to treat their Customers. Smiles and kindness go a long way. If I could ever give a Restaurant s large donation it would be this one. Keep surviving the economy, we love you guys!🙂🙂❤️🙏I almost forgot try the Country fried steak and eggs or tons of other items. 😋
Been going here regularly. I notice there are also older regulars too.Cant recommend this place enough. It looks a bit run down and shady but the food, staff and atmosphere more than make up for it. Good portions on the skillet which I recommend.Laidback staff. If something isnt right then they will help.Good pricing and portions. 2 meals is plenty for one big person. Prefer this over the ritzy place where you spend 20 bucks on some simple scrambled eggs with green onion....
I absolutely LOVE this place! Ive been several times, and am never disappointed. You cannot go wrong with anything you order and the staff front and back of house are simply awesome.
Dont let the location or the shady hotel next door fool you... this place is the Bees Knees. The service is fantastic, starting with Michelle. They are never too busy to be friendly, polite and accommodating. The food is great and I would recommend any dish that has the Green Chili. If youre not in the breakfast mood, their other lunch items are great. Ill put it this way: Sams #3 has nothing on this place.
I discovered this lil diner a long time ago when it was called the doll house (it was good back then as well). This is a lively breakfast diner with great food and reasonable prices.
We came here for breakfast on a Sunday morning around 9:00a.m. and got right in. Was good timing as there looked to be more of a wait time as we were leaving. Quite the hopping spot. Our server was very efficient, and the food and coffee was steaming hot . The portions are quite large and delicious. The pancakes were some of the best Ive had. They were fluffy and hot. The menu is quite large and the prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere was clean and bright. Great place I will definitely come back to!
This is a family owned restaurant with people who enjoy what they do. Alot of food at a great price. Ive always left this place full and satisfied!Would recommend to anybody

Chronicles of the WildmanI ride my motorcycles to diners and fill out reviews. After a long hiatus and a move (I was previously in northern New York), Im back. Now on to the review:I visited Hits The Spot Diner on 20 March 2021. I was seated fairly quickly and offered drinks immediately. I got coffee which was ok, but not the best (maybe it was an off day). I ordered the first thing on the menu called Everybodys Favorite. It was scrambled eggs with ham, green chili, cheese, and some other things I dont remember. It was fantastic! It was an American portion and by that, I mean its a very large plate. I ate about half and got a to-go box. This appears to be a very popular place as it was about full (considering social distancing practices). The decor on the walls were par for the course as diners go and was very artfully displayed.Now for the lost star. My only complaint is the location. Its in the middle of town where there are lots of traffic lights and sub-par road conditions (I came up Colfax). As a Rider, this was annoying, but not a deal breaker. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and the staff was friendly and attentive. I would recommend this and would come again.
Watched a service dog throw up on the floor and start eating it. I lost my appetite. Then the man didn’t even acknowledge anyone and quietly scooped it up into a plastic bag that he just left on the floor as he left.
Great great great great Great! This place is Great! We were on our way outta town and stopped here, oh brother, we are glad we Did! The menu is flippin huge! I got the Mexican burger and it was fire! They are known for the steak and eggs, and they looked amazing. I know because almost every other person in there was eating it! The breakfast burrito my old lady got was bigger than her head, and she ordered the small! This place is a landmark and is now permanently on my Denver eating list!
My daughter and I cannot say enough positive. First time today but not the last time. It was busy but our waitress on the patio was the best in every way. Food was hot, plentiful and delicious.

Hits the spot is the most apt name for this diner. The portions, flavor, and really just absolutely everything about this experience fit the quintessential diner feel. And the coffee! Perfect diner coffee. Get anything with the gyro meat. You will be very glad you did

Happily sat ourselves sunday 9/26/2021 9am as they where busy, staff purposely served other customers and left us waiting an hour just to order than took extremely long with the food.

Received a coke was drinking it. Something stuck to my lip, grabbed it off it was a piece of pink paper (sweet n low wrapper). Look at my cup seen more trash. Hector poured my coke the dishwasher per waitress and I receive a dirty glass/cup??? He should be focused on his job washing apparently.
I got the Super Breakfast and coffee. It was standard diner fare but the service was great. My coffee was kept topped off, my water was replaced before it was empty and the food arrived fast. Also, I never felt hurried.
I will never return to this restaurant. Their cleanliness is sub par. Their waitresses do not even wash their hands after bussing tables. I watched as several of them picked up glasses with their fingers along the rim. They put these in a dirty bus tub, then proceeded to load food into Togo containers (with bare hands) as well as delivering fresh plates to tables. Then would do it all over again, WITHOUT WASHING THEIR HANDS!!! This place is disturbing, we’re in the midst of a pandemic, and this place doesn’t recognize their need for much better food safety practices. Will never return, I suggest you do the same.
I waited over 2 hours just for every person that came after me to eat before me my date and her 3 yr old daughter. The food was good though
We havent been there for awhile but I love their new potatoes instead ofthe normal hash browns. I noticed the prices gone up as well. Keep the portions of food, that was satisfying to me as well as my husband. Except there was no sausage in the biscuits and gravy, my husband said. Other than that the food was great!
Breakfast on Monday July 19,2021 was excellent, waitress beautiful, polite and very attentive. Wish I had more room for more of the awesome hashbrowns!

This place is not what I expected Im pretty dissappointed that I brought myself and family here the food was not good my potatoes were burnt not crispy just straight burnt I got steak and eggs wanting my steak well done which came on my plate extremely raw and bloody with my eggs swimming in blood from the raw steak the waitress was super slow like she didnt know what she was doing when i asked to have it remade the cook was irritated and acted very unprofessional givving dirty looks as he was told about my inconvenience he was mad to remake my order the correct way the restaurants overall appearance was pretty dirty and overall my experience was horrible i do not recommend this place I think it is extremely over hyped and will NEVER go back.

Best place to grab breakfast in Denver, in my opinion. My family goes here every time we are in town for a Broncos game.
The food was alright but was lacking flavor. The waitress took my order wrong and brought red chili instead of green chili. The red chili was flavorless and bland but the grilled cheese hit the spot.
The food was good and the waitress was very nice even though she was very busy she took time to talk.

Disappointed in the Mexican Hamburger all it was, was loose hamburger rolled in a tortilla. I could have made a better one at home. In response to my review.. there was no hamburger patty in the tortilla! As I said earlier, it was just loose hamburger!
I would consider this an average place. The food was good the service was fine. Priced Right for the food you get.
First time here and my experience wasnt good. Waitress was friendly as were the other patrons. I asked a few tables how their service had been and they said it was great everything was tasty.I had ordered the chorizo omlet which came with toast, a side of hashbrowns (added with cheese & onions for $1.50) and pancakes (upgraded to the cinnamon roll french toast for about $4). Unfortunately, the kitchen messed up the order by putting the hashs onions and cheese over the omlet. I wouldve been fine with moving the toppings to the hash but the onions were charred to a crisp rather that caramelized. Worse was that the waitress asked the kitchen to refire the hash but the kitchen only refired the onions and cheese. Then they finally got it right by refiring the hashn onions and cheese. Some of the people I spoke with just looked dumbfounded that I had soo much food, which was a bit embarrassing.

After two days of driving and a late concert, my significant other and myself were hungry. We saw this place had good reviews and decided to try it. There was a little bit of a wait on this Sunday morning as they were slammed. The wait was more than worth it. All the food came out fantastic and I felt regretful that I could not finish what was on my plate; the portions are HUGE!

Friendly service and delicious food! There is a good amount of patio space and a heater for chilly days. My only complaint is that they have a blow up tube man that is extremely loud if your table is near it. I felt like I needed to yell in order to be heard. The food made up for the minor annoyance though!

Their burritos are okay, and the chili, both red, and green, is good enough. The location is kind of in a low down area, but the insides of the restaurant appear clean. Their orders to go are well packaged. Mostly its a greasy spoon type restaurant. Their breakfasts, especially their breakfast burritos are excellent!!!
