I purchased Silver at market value. I would say do your research on what you are doing before getting into the precious metal market.When purchasing expect to pay market value or slightly higher depending on where you go and how much you purchase.Understand that businesses need to make money to stay open.When selling precious metals and coins understand that there is a market price for purchasing and selling. They are not the same. Educate yourself or ask someone who is already invested that you trust.This market isnt for everyone. But I have no problem purchasing with confidence from this business.Sure you can purchase online for a couple cents cheaper but then you wait for it in the mail and have to trust it doesnt get lost or stolen. Typically give a fair scrap price for silver but his prices on items that he is selling typically run pretty high. I have gone to his store for years and have different experiences with the owner depending on the day (nicer on some days not so much on others). I have also seen people come in and be given prices on silver per ounce (both buying and selling), and people come in after them and get a different price from him. If you are looking to sell, his prices are typically fair, if you are looking to buy there are plenty of different coins stores in the area.

I used to buy here a fair bit then a couple years ago he, the owner/operator, said something that couldnt be true about a 20 franc gold coin and I never went back. It was only 1 experience in many i had at this store - sold and bought here, but if I cant trust what theyre telling me, then I wont ever go again. 3 stars is because of all the times things went well - so it just goes to show you a good reputation can be ruined by 1 misrepresentation (Im not looking to call him a liar over a single experience after many good experiences).I should have, and normally do, have an idea of the value of a gold or silver coin I normally buy, this day I was not prepared as I normally am so maybe Im part to blame here. Honesty is still important there is no excuse for misrepresenting yourself or a coin.

Friendly dealer with good selection of coins and currency along with other antiques and jewelry. Fair prices on items in the store as well. Would definitely recommend to people in the area, will be back in a month or two.

I told him I had an old Confederate bill at home that I wasnt sure if it was real or not. He said if it is real, its worth about $20. When I showed up with it 40 minutes later, he gave me $25 for it because it was in good condition.I didnt even know if it was real or not. He could have easily given me $20.Thats integrity.

Definitely one of the most honest and trustworthy dealers around, it’s a bout a 45 min drive to see Tom from my house and I’ll gladly drive past the two local dealers in my town to go deal with someone who has morals and integrity. Wether to buy or sell an old piece of currency, coinage or just looking to invest in silver or gold I’d highly recommend stopping in at security rare coins and talking to Tom.

Silver bullion is way over spot price. he regularly changes his prices depending on how HE feels the market is doing. i bought 10, 1oz silver rounds from him when spot was at $19.60 and he charged me $22 ea.!! 1 week later and silvers spot price is now $18.97. the guy is a duechebag. over the past year ive given this guy over 10k $ of my business thinking he was the only bullion dealer in town. then i found STEINMETZ! go to Steinmetz, right down the street, where they always charge $1.50 over spot, no matter what the market is doing!

Wouldn’t ever try to sell coins here again got offered scrap price (roughly 50 bucks) for coins took them to elsewhere and got 350 do not trust!
