I took my bike in to get a badly needed tune up. I noticed a nice used bike for sale at a reasonable price and inquired. They did not try to sell me on it like most places would but were honest that what I already have was about the same. They did great work on my bike at a fair price. Only place in town so they did take about 1.5 weeks to get the work done but overall very pleased with their work, price, and especially their business practices.

Santa Fe Trails bicycle shop did a phenomenal job tuning up my bike. They were very prompt and even finished a day before their estimated date of completion. There are other bicycle shops closer to me, but I will always make the trip to Leavenworth because their service is worth it. Their staff are knowledgeable and professional. Even though, Im fairly new to cycling, they never make me feel dumb, and take the time to explain things. They really care about your cycling experience. I recently brought them a bicycle that had a part stripped out, and they got it covered by the warranty (something I wouldnt have even though about asking). Theyre my go-to bike shop.

I am a complete novice when it comes to bicycles. My son is just now starting to learn how to ride. We didnt know where to begin. We were curious about used bicycles and they didnt have any in stock in the one they had in stock the salesperson was very honest that it would not be the right fit. Honesty and integrity are keystones of good businesses. After we found a suitable frame we brought it to the shop and they got it all set up for my son. I couldnt ask for better service. They did a great tuneup on my bike. Fixed the broken spoke and fixed the wheel. They even got a screw to fix my cleats.

I have never been a cyclist other than casually. Recently I pulled an old TREK out of storage and took it to Sante Fe Trails. The staff did an excellent job of answering questions, overhauling the bicycle, and fitting it properly for me. Friendly and professional, highly recommend.

From the entire staff and the dedicated care and service they provided us to the customers in the store who greeted us and made us feel welcome, we will always keep coming back to the Sante Fe Trails shop. I got the Trek FX 2 and it was sized perfectly and specifically to me and they made sure I was comfortable and had what I needed. Being 6’ 8”, that’s not the easiest task to accomplish but they made all the adjustments until it was where it needed to be.Couldn’t say enough good things about this place. Their service is 2nd to none. Will definitely be going back anytime I need service or accessories. Totally worth the 40 minute drive from KC!

Nice bike shop with a friendly staff and fresh coffee. Good place to browse bikes, get some new parts and cycling kit, or pick up some coffee and treats before, after, or during a ride. Even has a nice sitting area with some high top tables and stools. Group rides are on Mondays and Tuesdays at 6pm and on Saturdays at 9am.

Great shop with outstanding customer service. I brought them two cheapo bikes and my frankenbike and they worked on each of them at very reasonable prices in a very good time frame. The work I wanted done to my bike was incompatible with the frame but they were able to find a solution for me and didnt try to sell me on anything. I wish I tried the coffee, though.

This is the best bike shop I have ever experienced. From sales, service, accessories and just getting explanations to make the best decision when it comes to your bikes it’s the best. I have bought new bikes since 1989, dealt with bike shops in numerous states and even a couple in Kansas City. These guys are great. Plus you can get a cup of coffee and spend some time talking to the other bicyclists about the great life on a bicycle.

This is the quintessential local bike shop. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I’ve only stopped in once but I loved the atmosphere and the knowledgeable people who worked there. They seemed to have a great selection of all the things I needed which ranged from some repair parts for my road bike, a kids bike, several spare tubes for various bikes at my house, and most of all coffee! I will definitely be back.

Great customer service. Took a box of bike parts in to have my wifes bike assembled, they were very courteous and professional making sure we had everything necessary. Brought it to my attention when they discovered something (BB) was incorrect for the frame and did not pressure me to buy anything until I told them to just order what was necessary. Very quick to get my wifes bike back to us (especially compared to the three years the parts have been sitting in a box in my garage). Will continue to use them in the future.

Santa Fe Trails Bicycle shop is a fraud. I purchased a bicycle inner tube at this shop for my bicycle. They told me the inner tube would withstand pressure up to 120 psi because I told them my tire took 90 psi. The inner tube blew out upon initial installation at 85 psi. I returned to the shop about this issue. They told me there was nothing they could do for me. The tube cost $8.76 which is expensive for a bicycle inner tube. They said they wouldnt order me a better tube and give me credit for the tube that blew out. I wont be purchasing anything else at this bicycle shop.

Mr. Sheheen and his crew are awesome! They provide you options to get your bike back, or keep it in tip too shape! But, you get to choose, they dont force unneeded repairs on you or try to talk you in to something you dont need. Honest service for an affordable price. Repairs are timely. Great service for military in the go in the area, too. Awesome people, awesome job!

I received fantastic service at Santa Fe Bicycle. Although I simply bought an entry-level hybrid bike, I was treated just as good as the customer next to me purchasing a $2,600 custom gravel bike. They have a good selection of all the gear youll need to get started and are willing to take the time to teach you about everything available.

They found some warranty work that needed to be done and urged me to take it to the shop I bought it from, instead of doing it there where I would have incurred more cost. When I bought a bike for one of my children for Christmas they were flexible about delivering it at a time when the child was not going to be there. Great shop and great local people.

I had the pleasure of purchasing a bike from here. The help is truly helpful and not just trying to make a quick sale. I tend to be on the cheaper side (why not buy a bike on Craigslist?), so I was hesitant as I looked at the price tags of these bikes. However, as I talked with them and heard the process for them configuring a bike to exactly what I needed, I am sold on making these purchases. I figure I ride this way more than I would have an ill-fitting bike for a few hundred less.

This is where the good stuff comes in.The phone call I made to them when I walked home depressed with my 700 purchase, I was told to bring it in and they would service it, for free...Ladies and gentlemen that not even the best part, these guys stand by the products they sell and assemble for your use.Services? Theyll fix just about anything. Brake cables are a free fix for them since they get worn.Tune Up? Bring it in... They will do it.Trade-in? Yeah... They will take it and credit it towards your next purchase of a bikeAnd they guarantee that their product is the best, fit you for it, let you test drive it around the area, then sell it.My complaints.Though fair it is a bit high for someone just starting out. Associated costs of other products are predictable but make sure if you coming in to buy your ready to spend between 400+. They will help you out though and understand what a budget is and will set you up.No military discounts vets, though I am not particularly complaining for myself, they dont have any.Return policy, a bit lacking. A specialty shop usually has return policies that arent what your used too, and if you dont trust the guys that sell this and live the life of a cyclist (of any kind) then steer clear. This is why they pretty much guarantee you will love your bike.Complaints aside they do coffee. They are a great shop, and even if your are mildly interested is cycling of any kind. See them for the advice!

I have been coming here for at least 18 years. I have bought about 15 bicycles and numerous equipment. I have volunteered working with them as they work in the community to have kids ride safely, races, and promotion of the City of Leavenworth. They ALL find time to work with any customer. Yes they are busy at times, but that is because of the number of cyclists that come from far away to this shop. They do the best they can and the customer service is the best in the United States that I have seen. All the people here are knowledgible and smart enough to know when they do not know the answer to find out. Numerous people, who are in foreign lands, still converse with this shop, to include sending equipment for repair or requesting equipment. I have been around cycling/running stores, USA and overseas, and I have never been disappointed in all forms of customer service and or product.

Rude! Shoddy work! Confused staff. I will NEVER return.You will be greeted with screaming just as you get in the door. Someone yelling out instead of meeting you at the counter to simply asking how may I help you?. Two different stories pertaining to the service on my bike. BS in person and Ultra BS over the phone. I asked the sales person what I needed next. He said new tires. The bike had new tires when I dropped it off! NEED I SAY MORE?!😡I should have taken my bike elsewhere. Its maybe 1 or 2 people that know bikes at this coffee shop. Just a clutch of clowns charging top dollar for mediocre service. 😡😡😡😡

More than 12 years using this shop. Great knowledgeable staff and service. Weve bought 12+ bikes over the years. Back in town and just had service done to repair two bikes damaged by the movers. As usual, service was completed quickly at a reasonable price leaving me walking away confident that the bikes will work as advertised.

Best around! No reason to go to KC - SF bikes has what you need. They maintain my fattire and sell some pretty sweet mid-fatties. Take their free bike class sometime, very informative. They have weekly rides and great personalities as well.

Its called a bike and coffee shop; its definitely a bike shop first, that serves coffee. I did not see a barista at the counter while I was there. I was browsing the bikes and the gentleman I spoke with was friendly and helpful. Kids bikes are upstairs, which doesnt make sense if you have a stroller because you have to carry your kids up the stairs with an unsafe railing.Overall, I would go back if I were more seriously in the market for a bike or accessories, but probably find the coffee elsewhere.

Beginner here, was looking for information and was planning on a local buy. To echo the sentiment mentioned below, I didnt feel like the gentleman really cared. I mean, Im sure he did and maybe it was a busy morning, but the minute a family walked in looking to immediately buy I was literally left standing there. That was not a good feeling. I would have been ready to buy after more info, and was willing to drop a pretty penny in doing so. Edit: Its a nice shop with nice bikes and accessories and from the slight moment I was being briefed, the man was very knowledgeable. But again, I left feeling like a penniless bum.

These guys are awesome, and even though I dont live in Leavenworth anymore I will never take my bike anywhere else. Friendly, knowledgeable, and very accommodating with their hours and services - cant ask for better! They brought my new to me folding Dahon Bicycle back from the dead with a great tune up.

So I started cycling when I got to Kansas for staff college. They were able to fix me up with a good bike, and are phenomenal with service. Any new bike you get from them they fix for free for the first year. They also do group rides to help you get used to the bike.On the downside and I think this goes with any cycling shop is that it is expensive initially. I believe most people when they think they want to get a good bike think they can get a Tour de France bike for about $400. So no fault on the bike shop, its just that a good road bike starting to is gonna run you $800-900. Then there are pedals, shoes, shorts etc.i dont regret it at all. Once you decide to go ahead and spend the money this place is top knotch, and will make it worth your wild. The group rides and the classes the offer are probably the best part.
