Mayo Automotive is the most comprehensive independent mechanic you will find in the DFW metroplex. I recently had a pre purchase inspection done and Mayo automotive went above and beyond. The price was extremely fair and Mayo spent one hour looking over every detail. We completed a 160 point inspection, scanned codes and went for a test drive. Hands down worth every dollar and extremely honest.

I had a timing belt done on a Lexus, and suspension sound diagnosis done on another. Have you seen any other business with 5.0 google review? Not 4.9, but 5.0! Ahmad has earned that 100%. The work was done punctually, easy to plan around, and his pricing was much better than any other shop or dealer. Rather than call and speak to a know-nothing service advisor, you call and speak to an expert. Like some other reviews said, Ahmad knows what to fix and what not to fix. I got a PPI done at Mayo before traveling from out of state to buy an 80 Series Land Cruiser. Very honest, great work and felt like an experience from the mechanics my dad trusted growing up.Very pleased with the work done on our 2016 Rav4! Recommended by another trusted mechanic friend.Had them do an inspection of the Rav4 to identify any pending issues, and received a very accurate and honest quote. Only thing that was needed was some work on the front brakes. This is in contrast with a quote from a Auto Repair store chain that gave us a list of repairs totalling 1k plus, including things that were not necessary. Followed up a few days later to make sure all was still working well. Exceptional experience!

Wow so here we go honest review. I just recently got a car 5 months ago. From a friend of a friend. And I noticed that I was having some issues with the belt and I thought it was the power steering. Long story short I was calling other places to figure out the cheapest to go to to get my car fixed I had car shops quoting me over 2,000 dollars some places. Had my engine light checked when I couldnt figure out the vacuum leak code, turned out to be a simple fix. Also had Mr. Mayo check an oil leak I noticed but couldnt tell where it was coming from. Oil was leaking onto my alternator so I wanted to get it addressed (turned out to be a cylinder head gasket). Felt he was honest about the issues with no BS and pricing was super reasonable. I am by no means a mechanic but like to do the stuff I feel I can do on my own (especially when it involves saving a buck). Im pretty sure I could have changed the gasket myself...but I probably saved time and money (as time is money) by having Mr. Mayo do it. Highly recommended!!!

I recently had some major repairs on my Toyota 4Runner done at Mayo Automotive to fix an oil leak that required the complete removal of the engine to replace the faulty seals. Right after the repairs, I took my 4Runner on a two-week road trip of over 5300 miles and my car ran better than it had in years. The repair was reasonably priced and the work was completed in a timely fashion. This is my second vehicle that Mayo has repaired and they have again done an excellent job. Highly recommended.

Thought would give a try and drove 25 miles to Mayo Automobiles for the water pump repair. Ahmad is good, knowledgeable and fast. He showed me the leak and replaced the water-pump for less. Common sense professional, he knows what to do, but also knows what not to do, so if its a 10 year old car youre not going to get a bunch of ridiculous suggestions on a bunch of work that you should do while your car is under warranty, but when your car is on the downhill slide, just keep it running.

I had a timing belt job done on my 2003 Avalon about 18 months ago. Ahmad replaced the timing belt, water pump, cam seals, crank seal, PS belt, alternator belt, and replaced with Toyota pink antifreeze for $550. And Ahmad used all Toyota parts for the job. I recently had 4 struts replaced on my car. These were KYB struts that I bought online, and Ahmad did the job for a very reasonable $420. Having Ahmad do the work is like having a Toyota dealerships top mechanic do the job for half the price the dealer would charge. I hope I can continue to take my car to him when it needs something done that I cant do myself.

I needed a driver side CV axle replaced on my wifes car. I brought it here, and he did the work for less than half of what NTB quoted. I will definitely be a return customer. This guy is working for his name and his reputation. Unlike the big shops, hes not going to recommend unnecessary work to try to beef up the bill. I usually do my own mechanic work, but if I dont have the time or its outside my comfort zone this is my go to shop!
