Some times life throws you a curve ball - and some times that curve ball is backing out of the garage and just about ripping your car door off. The driver side door was in such bad shape that it wouldnt even close all the way. This happened on a Saturday morning so I left a message for Service King in Lombard. They called me first thing Monday morning and had a tow truck out about 75-90 minutes later. The team was great at communicating the process to me over the phone, sending me the proper docs via email to sign for approval, dealing with Allstate to get everything appraised and approved for body work. Service King provided impeccable service and communication. They text you updates and have a customer portal where you can follow the progress of your vehicle. The best part of my experience was working with the manager Mike C. Mike was very professional and his customer service was top notch. Mike understands that no one wants to deal with having their car repaired in this manner - and he makes the whole process very painless. Id highly recommend the Lombard Service King! The final result was amazing. The door looks good as new, doesnt stick at all! You can tell the team at Service King really has some talented body work professionals.

He is respectful, courteous, and extremely thorough throughout the repair process. Bird has phenomenal attention to detail. I was in a minor accident with damage to my rear bumper. Service Kings was on the recommended vendor list from Liberty Mutual Insurance. I’m so glad I went with them. They were extremely professional, timely, and let me know the status of my car every step of the way. They even vacuumed my floor mats and wiped down my dashboard before I picked my car up. Highly recommend!

Quality workmanship is hard to find and this place exceeds any expectations I have ever had with cars, they are very prompt and straight forward with everything and just break it down to every detail possible! My car is still at this shop. Its been a nightmare. My car has been at Service King for 9 days. It took them a week to order parts to repair my exhaust. The parts wont even be in for several more days. Which means fixing a bumper and exhaust will take them 2 weeks. They told me the exhaust parts arent available anywhere and Ill have to wait 2 months to get the exhaust fixed. This was Bird who told me this over the phone and via email. So I did an internet search real quick to see if I could find the exhaust. Low and behold at least 6 shops popped up that had the exhaust in stock ready to ship the same day. Then I looked on the manufacturers site. They said it was in stock and also listed about 10 more suppliers that carry it. So I was lied to. They also said they have to have another shop replace the exhaust. I dont want my car driven all over the place shop to shop. I also requested that they submit damaged panels to the insurance for replacement because its a $68,000 car with less than 5,000 miles. They refused and used filler for cracks.Who knows when the car will be ready? But Im going to go over the repairs with a flashlight and magnifying glass. Im going to crawl under the car and inspect everything. I do not trust this shop anymore.

Nobody likes to go to the body shop and little things happen. My wife needed some minor repairs after a mishap in parking lot. The staff here were all very good to us and professional to boot. They ordered up the parts for her vehicle during the holidays and we took in after new years day. They had the vehicle ready in 4 days and we had rental to use. They cleaned the whole vehicle interior and exterior and my wife was amazed as this was never done in past visits at other shops. The paint work they did is a perfect match and nobody is the wiser to damages. If I ever need to repair a vehicle I can state that this shop will be doing the work. We were so impressed that I took them some of my homemade beef jerky, and it is very good. They all seemed to really enjoy the jerky, I have been making it for over 35 years.Two of the staffers need to be brought into this review as they did a great job, that would Kelly and Aurelio.

ZERO STARS. AVOID SERVICE KING OF LOMBARD LIKE THE PLAGUE. The incompetence and ceaseless lies would almost be funny if I wasnt still stuck in this nightmare.Got in an accident on July 18. Allstate referred me to Service King as some sort of preferred vendor. Long story short, I got the car to Service King at my inconvenience but Service King wasnt able to even look at the car until July 21. The 7/21 meeting with Eddie took about 2 minutes.The 1st communication from Eddie was a text on July 28, stating the completion date would be 8/11.Next communication was a text from Eddie on 8/1 stating that the work was 51% complete and on schedule for 8/11. Seemed odd given that the car was sitting outside in their yard--seemingly untouched-- in the exact same spot as of August 1.Next was a text claiming that they were near completion. Again, odd because the car was not moved from the yard to the garage until 8/7, in my recollection.On 8/11, I called Eddie to schedule the pickup of my car. Eddie told me that the car was not done and that all they needed was some sort of support bracket for the radiator. Eddie stated that the car would be finished by the following Wed. 8/16.5 mins. after that phone call, Eddie sent a text stating that the updated completion date was August 18, not August 16.On 8/18, I tried to pick up the car at 5:30 pm. Eddie stated that the car was unfinished for no particular reason. I then saw the car in the garage and the damaged area of the car was completely taken apart, unpainted and unfinished. It was obvious that they were waiting for more than a radiator bracket. The conversation turned profane and Eddie stated that the car would be finished by August 22. In addition, as of August 18 I had exhausted the 30-day rental car reimbursement of my Allstate policy. Eddie suggested that they may pay for the rental car after the 30 days but refused to bind Service King in writing or on video.On August 22, I received a voice mail from Eddie stating that the car was unfortunately not finished and would be finished on 8/23.On 8/23 I returned to Service King to pick up the car. Eddie again stated that the car was not finished because they were waiting on an air cleaner that they just discovered was damaged despite having had the car for 5 weeks. Eddie stated that the car would be ready on 8/25. I demanded to take the car home and have the remaining work done myself. Eddie refused. Upon seeing the car, it was obvious that little or nothing had been done since 8/18. Eddie stated that the car would be finished on 8/25. After seeing the car, its safe to say that it wont. Looking back, every statement made by Eddie to me was a willful lie. Moreover, to this day I still have not been provided an estimate or any itemization of the work that is allegedly being done.The Service King scam is this: Allstate has some financial incentive to send people to Service King. Either they own part of it, or Service King has agreed to work cheap. Either way, Service King has neither the competent personnel nor the facilities to service the volume of people they are sent by Allstate. If Eddie would have simply told me that the repairs would have taken 6 weeks--which he knew was the case when we met--I would have gone to Glen Ellyn Body Shop, which I know from experience does good, timely work. Instead, Eddie likely has some financial incentive to get people in the door, which means constant lies, and dealing with the consequences later.At this point, I dont anticipate getting the car back until well into September, if ever. I dont even want to think about the quality of the work, let alone my $1,000+ rental bill.

I’ve had to go her more than once for things that were not repaired or incorrectly repaired by another facility. These people are absolutely fantastic. From the moment they say hi all the way to the end. Very clear communication throughout the process in which ever form you want it to be. Everything done exactly as sad. No surprises. No massive paperwork. Dealt with insurance company themselves. Easiest process I’ve ever been through. Even gave me rides when they had no obligation to do so. Will go nowhere else but here in the future.

Nothing but problems. Every review I have read basically says the same thing we experienced. Long repair time, every time we went to pick it up there was stuff still wrong. We dropped it off after an accident in October. We didn’t get the car back till after Christmas. I ended up contacting their Corporate offices cause the manager kept going back on what was said. They covered half the cost of my deductible and covered the rental for the 2 1/2 months my car was in the shop. That’s about the only good thing they did.Our car is still messed up. Pulls to the side, makes a loud noise on the right side if we hit a bump. The passenger side blinks saying the bulb is out but it’s not. The kicker...my spare is gone!!! Needed it the other day and it wasn’t in my trunk. I’m not sure why it would need to be taken out for a front passenger side repair, but it was definitely in there when it was in the accident. I’m not sure what the warranty on their work is but I’m scared to take it back.

Absolutely horrible service. Delayed my repair for my back bumper by over a week. I come to the mechanic to pick up my car and long behold it wasnt even done properly. I would highly advise anybody to not go here. Simply just get an estimate and go some where else because they will charge you and or your insurance company and arm and a leg.

WORST company and service EVER!!! They take way too long just to even look at something let alone fix it. Then when they start fixing it, theres way too many delays and setbacks. You shouldnt say you can fix something, especially in a certain amount of time, when you clearly cant. This place is garbage, do not go here unless you want problems. They are much more concerned about turnover, than actually fixing your vehicle (which my vehicle never got fixed despite repeated efforts). Whenever i had to deal with them, they acted like i was wasting their time, even though it was quite the opposite. Internal communication within this business is non-existent. Thanks for the headaches, Service King!

Avoid.Service King did not make the necessary repairs intially and did not stand by their warranty. Save yourself the time and frustration of dealing with Mark Betzel and Service King and choose another local shop.Car was involved in an accident and the drivers side front wheel took the impact. Service King replaced some components including strut assembly but did not do a full alignment to validate all other components were withing factory tolerance. Service King did not replace the hub assembly (wheel bearings) or control arm. Service King did not verify all repairs needed were made through a proper alignment--Service King only measured the camber and toe but not caster. All 3 critical measurements (camber/caster/toe) should be within tolerance. This is unheard of when getting a front alignment.Immediately after the repair, the wheel would rub when in reverse and cutting the wheel and after a few thousand miles, the wheel bearing which was not replaced began to fail. There was no test to verify the wheel bearing was not damaged during the accident, furthermore, the improper alignment put additional stress which also contributed to the premature failure.I reached out to Service King to get the remaining issues addressed (Service King paperwork lists a Guarantee). I had the misfortune of working with Mark Betzel who refused to acknowledge that the shop did not complete all repairs and accused us of hitting a pot hole. Mark stated he had been there for two months but had over 30 years of experience working on cars but could not offer up an explanation as to why all three measurements were not taken after the initial repair or why no other testing was performed to validate the hub was not damaged.Mark lacked professionalism and turned what should have been an opportunity to build a lifetime customer into a stressful and frustrating situation. Mark constantly interrupted me during phone dialogue and lacked the emotional maturity to understand the situation from our perspective. Its hard to believe Service King allows this guy to be customer facing.After contacting the Allstate insurance adjuster, we were able to get a second opinion from another shop. The shop validated that the repairs were not completed in their entirety and Allstate authorized an adjustment to get the repairs completed.Avoid Service King. Get the work done right the first time. The guarantee means nothing if you have to fight to justify why something wasnt done correctly the first time.Service King will never get my business again.

I dropped my vehicle off on a wednesday after scheduling the repair. The employee that was in charge of my cars name was Roamel, he insisted to me that my vehicle would be “done in a week, give or take a few days”. Throughout the repair process the vehicles completion date was consistintely pushed back. I ended up picking it up on a Wednesday 3 WEEKS after I had dropped it off. When I got it, it looked nice, the paint job was great, and it really was a quality job. After a few days I realized that my vehicle still had something’s that needed to be done. I brought it back on a Tuesday and everything was redone by the end of the day. I give them 4 stars because the quality of the work was really good and the warranty work was done in a timely fashion. I am very very picky about my car, and I would bring it back here. However, I would never let Roamel be in charge of my car again.

Brought my car in for an insurance job. One of my headlights went out so I took my car back to them they changed it. When the same headlight blew out again the service rep said that someone glued one of the pieces so they said that they didnt glue it and that I need a whole new lamp. 😑 but they were the only ones who serviced my car
