Nice customer service on a random Monday night. Mixed feelings (vanilla & activated charcoal/pineapple) in a charcoal cone was better than expected - light, sweet, and kind of refreshing in a fresh, crisp cone. My husband got mixed feelings with a salted caramel swirl in a matcha cone (he said it was probably too many flavors mixed together but still good). Recommended!
This place has a lot of potential. Its super cute, the ice cream is really tasty (especially the charcoal- pineapple flavor. ) The service however… is NOT IT.The staff is rude, doesn’t explain anything about the limited flavors and looks miserable being there.
We decided to have a cone after reading a lot of good reviews and seeing mouthwatering photos on instagram. It says that they open at 11 in the morning. We visited at 1 o’clock but the cashier apologized and said that the machines are not ready yet and we need to wait for 10 minutes. We ordered and waited. After a while we had our cones. It melted in a minute or less! I mean the taste was good but it just melted so quickly and made a mess on my hand!It was the most expensive non worthiest Ice cream I ever had! 😩
Overview:Nice little ice cream shop with a decent amount of seating so definitely would come here with friends to hang out and enjoy some soft serve! The shop is nicely decorated and the staff was friendly. This place is also located in Little Tokyo so you can definitely stop by after enjoying a nice meal.Food:Ordered the mixed feelings soft serve but only had one feeling and that was enjoyment! The soft serve is pretty tasty and looks beautiful in a dark cone so grab your camera and make sure to snap a pic for the ig. Ice cream is delicious and all but there is a special place in my heart for soft serve so we need more soft serve shops like this! They also serve coffee which is always an interesting combination for an ice cream shop but thats what makes this place also a great spot for doing a bit of work.
Nice place w a fun experience w soft serve ice cream. A bit pricy, so if you are taking your kids to the place, consider talking to them about sharing beforehand.
Found this place on yelp because we wanted dessert after dinner and we are so glad we did. It was yummy and the perfect after dinner dessert. The lakers flavor mango and ube was bomb.
New favorite dessert spot. The pegasus and Earl grey are so good🤤💖💙🍦Also great customer service thanks girls!
It was definitely a spot to indulge for soft serve ice cream. My partner and I shared the vanilla and Earl grey. We kept it simple to savor the ice cream. Will be returning for more funky flavorful mix.
Definitely recommend getting a taste of this very stylish frozen treat if you havent yet.
Check out the Fanta thing... tastes even better than it sounds.
The decor of Bae is trendy, modern and artsy with neon light. Its a perfect place for photos on Instagram. Bae is definitely one of most popular spots around Little Tokyo in LA.The options on the menu are limited but with a great variety of toppings. The staff was really friendly and passionate to recommend us their top selling items. We had their signature and must-try soft serve with the color of both ice cream & cone in black. It looks pretty cool and surprisingly the flavor is charcoal pineapple. It was not the best soft serve I have ever had but decent and refreshing.
Delicious and absolutely aesthetic ice cream in Little Tokyo! They have such unique but surprisingly complimenting ice cream combos like charcoal pineapple and vanilla! I personally got their cocoa puffs and early grey mix! The flavors definitely compliments one another. It was also pretty huge for what you pay, so definitely worth it! Also love the location and store! The store makes for the perfect instagram worthy ice cream shot. Being in Little Tokyo, you can also take a nice stroll to other shops and restaurants!
Soft serve here was a unique flavor and cool colored, but melted very quickly compared to other soft serves Ive had.
Bae bowl was really good. The rest of the family enjoyed the soft serve in cones. Friendly service!
Instagram worthy, post-able on multi platforms, and thus worth the price. There’s a visible texture to the ice cream, it’s unique in that the shape holds perfectly, and the colors resemble matted pastel.Definitely trendy - flavors are ubiquitous to Little Tokyo, you’ll find Matcha and Taro on the menu. The charcoal black ice cream is pineapple in flavor. The brightness of the taste in contrast with the blackness of the look, gives this ice cream even more depth.Anything your heart desires, they probably have it as a topping. For around $8 you can get an ice cream cone. The prices go up with more additions. The interior has been decorated beautifully like a fancy lounge with neat neon signs and doll-like furnishings. There’s even a whole merchandise section where you can get cropped tops, sweaters and tanks with ‘Bae,’ printed on them.Their tea is from Art of Tea, whole-leaf and delicious. I got the lemon ginger half sweetened, and was in heaven.Plenty of street parking out front.
Went in with the family and ordered a few cones and the Bae bowl… We were absolutely amazed at how good it was. Wow A must try!
A great hang out spot that serves as a hybrid of what I feel is similar to other trendy/hipster ice cream/yogurt shops with a focus on Asian flavors. Stand outs include the Ube, which is also rich in its natural deep purple color, Thai tea that contains a real tea aftertaste and coco puffs. Topping selection is pretty limited but overall I would definitely come back to sample other flavors.
There was only two choices, the mixed feelings and that stupid earl grey mix. The ladies were rude like, it ain’t my fault you guys are ugly don’t take it out on us we’re just trying to have a good time! Was so excited to try this place but what a let down! I should’ve just went to somi somi
Opened in late 2017, Bae & Co. in Little Tokyo lives by the motto of putting customers before anything else, and although some may find it difficult to take the Soft Serve shop with a silly name seriously the truth is that both product and branding are equally well thought out.Born in Los Angeles, and recently opened in Houston, it is steps from the Japanese American National Museum that guests will find the store, a tiny neon sign above 369 East 2nd Street leading to clean lines and monochrome colors plus a sign that reads “with love, from bae.” on the wall.No doubt embracing the era of #instagram with bold colors and fancy presentations, Activated Charcoal turning Dole Whip-like Pineapple into a study of contrasts when blended with Vanilla to form “Mixed Feelings,” guests are invited to indulge from cup or Cone, the latter available in five varieties differing by color as well as flavor. One of those “almost too friendly” places in terms of service, a lot of chit-chat plus $5.95 yielding several ounces of Soft Serve in a Cup, fans of Fro-Yo will quickly notice bae’s frozen treat is much thicker, and while Pineapple deserves its accolades it is actually herbaceous Earl Grey and Lakers-purple Ube with subtle sweetness that threaten to wrestle away the spotlight while Vanilla and Cocoa Puffs are merely okay.
This place super exceeded my expectations on the quality of the food or should I say, dessert. The acai bowl was phenomenal and the service was friendly and top notch.
Friendly staff. The icecream looked good and it tasted delicious!
I really enjoyed the mixed emotions on a cone. The charcoal pineapple is delicious. They only have 3 options but only two worked on the slow serve machine so thats kinda a down side. Id like to see more options in the future. They also offer floats.
4 stars for good ice cream! Interesting flavors. But, customer service is bad 8 times out of 10.
I adore this place! It has such a warm loving vibe to it and of course the mix feeling ice cream is what put this place on the map. A charcoal ice cream that just taste like sweet pineapple and this creamy vanilla flavor mix to form a true ying and yang combo. Really recommend it!
THE BEST ICE CREAM! While I was visiting LA (before COVID), I went to Little Tokyo to get some Japanese Ramen. As I was walking out, I saw dozens of people congregating around this little shop and realized that its an ice cream shop. As soon as I saw the inside, I realized that I remembered seeing this place on Instagram so I decided to go in and check it out to experience the hype. I ordered the Mixed Feelings which is half vanilla and half charcoal-inflused pineapple (but its black due to charcoal). I absolutely loved the taste... It exceeded my expectations! It might look weird at first but I promise you that it was really good. I added mini oreos to make it look cooler lol. A little pricey but definitely worth it. If youre nearby, I strongly suggest you to go try the place. However, theres a line so prepare to wait awhile.
Service was terrible the lady was being massively rude for no reason half of the stuff they show like the donuts isn’t even and option they wouldn’t let my bf get a vanilla soft serve in a cup for no reason and their ice cream melts way to fast utter disappointment complete waste of time and money. Do your self a favor and walk past the shop to somi somi’s that’s where you get your money’s worth
Nice and helpful staffs.Soft serve were pretty good.
Great ice cream! Try the mixed feelings. It lives up to its name
Stumbled upon this place as I was waiting to grab sushi. Decided to go in here for some dessert. It didn’t disappoint. Fruity pebbles with Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal sprinkled with more fruity pebbles. Pretty nice and relaxing atmosphere inside. You can definitely eat your ice cream and engage yourself in a conversation with a friend.
Great service! Friendly staff Maribel and Leslie have great costumer service.
Cute place, but the açaí bowl was just gross. The wait alone was almost 20 min to make, and there was no one in the shop but us (2 other people & 1). Definitely not worth the money.
Delicious Ice Cream!! Beautiful gelato with a wide array of flavours. There was a line-up, but waiting for 10 minutes was worth it. Amazing operation!
The ice cream is tasty but nothing too crazy although the vanilla is amazing. It’s more for Instagramers and nice photos.Staff was friendly and they were very responsive if you asked for samples. The finish and pour and how it looks is very important to them. The Mixed feelings ones which is pineapple and vanilla was great.Nice little cozy seating area as well with some neon for the gram.Good place to grab ice cream while walking in little tokyo.
Great pineapple ice cream! It’s my favorite 🤩 the staff is so friendly and welcoming definitely recommend if in the area.
Love the pineapple ice cream
I’m not one to complain but they allowed a dog inside the building and that’s honestly disgusting to me especially for an Ice Cream spot! Now on to the good part! The ice cream taste great I ordered Fruity Pebbles & Cinnamon Toast Crunch with a Chocolate cone. It is kind of pricey when you think about standard ice cream but it’s a neat concept and very picture worthy presentation they give you so you kind of figure you’ll have to pay for it! If you’re on a date night I’d suggest this spot!
Nothing special. I came here because of the reviews but they didn’t even have the flavors I saw from the photos. Worse than the ice cream I bought from Target
Very spacious store with a ton of seating m. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and they gave us a very generous sample cup with all of their flavor combinations.Their ice cream is not the best. I would rather go to Tea Master for a matcha soft served as the one here is mediocre and does not have a very prominent matcha flavor. The rest of the flavors are rather mediocre as well and I’ve definitely had better around the area.
This evening when wanted to try something you and were very delighted to of had tried this amazing gem in Little Tokyo Martin and Maribelle make a great team very friendly and welcoming I recommend this place to anyone who loves to try new things
Bold rich flavors and hip decor
Rolled down to little Tokyo & saw people walking around with black ice cream. I was like whuuut let me check it out! Went inside Bae & the the lady was mad cool giving the kids samples & everyone in there was diverse & mad chill. Kids got the basic vanilla/chocolate in A cup but wifey got the black cone with the charcoal pineapple & vanilla ice cream! I punked out & didnt try. Solid spot with great customer service, roll thru!
Large selection, varied and interesting flavors, one word delicious.....friendly and kind staff :) Cant wait to visit again.
Aesthetics: 5/5Service: 5/5Food: 5/5This review is über late (like October 2018 late). There wasnt anything to complain about. The solo girl working the front was polite and patient, offering us whatever samples we requested and nicely answered our questions.I liked the look of the shop and how beautiful the ice cream was. We got the Mixed Feelings Swirl (vanilla First Date + activated charcoal pineapple Heartbroken) with gold heart flakes. It was as delicious as it was pretty. My husband and sister thought the same.It was the first time I had ever had charcoal ice cream and it did not disappoint.
At first I thought a soft serve that looks hipster and that costs $5 is some sort of a scam but it actually tastes good!! I’d say it’s very creamy and rich in flavor. I ordered mixed feelings which is vanilla + activated charcoal (pineapple flavored) and it’s a good combination since the pineapple flavor is too sweet for my liking. Definitely recommend this dessert place!!
I like it here always quality food & service. This place has a nice feel to it. Food and atmosphere reminds me of Atlanta.
Fell in love with this place from the 1st taste. This place has a nice design. Similar to a place in Denver I loved.
Look man these burgers are amazing and the price is amazing my whole family ate for 30 bucks now that is amazing because he usually cost around 100 bucks for a family like my size which is 7 great customer service and the place is amazingly modernized with a slight Chicano accent
Two thumbs up for this place. Fast and courteous service. It has a cool interior. Food is similar to a place in San Francisco I loved.
The fruity pebble ice cream was amazing 👏
Love this place! Delicious and super cute ice cream! Also such a cute place
Tried this place on a hot day. It hit the spot and didnt disappoint. Their cone selection is very unique and delicious. Mixed Feelings flavor was amazing💕
Ive come here many times now and I have always been impressed by the consistency in service, music, and the quality of their product. One of my personal favorites is always the charcoal pineapple and vanilla mix. Its a bit pricey when COMPARED to other places that you can get cheaper priced ice-creams, but I think the price here is worth it; considering it has good music, free wifi, good aesthetics both in interior design and in their ice creams, and in service, youre getting your worth.
Came to Bae with my very own bae. the employees were super helpful in helping me choose a non-caffienated drink - I ended up getting the lovers latte which is a beet based drink. The drink was not too sweet, which I find a lot of these alternative lattes can be, which I enjoyed. and, of course they formed a heart latte art onto the lovers latte. how fitting! the space is also good for hanging out, or if you so desire, study as well.
We got lucky on our visit, there was no line up, but about 10 minutes after we got served there was a line out the door. The ice cream was delicious.
Delicious acai bowls and good crazy looking ice cream
Ok ice cream over priced as most hipster boutique places. Portions are huge. Would rather pay half the price for half the ice cream. It’s nice they let you try before you buy. No donuts anymore! The ice cream was way to sweet, kinda on the icier side, not creamy. It’s ok! I was deciding between 2-3 stars ... I gave three because servers are nice.
The ice cream has more ice than cream. So the ice to milk ratio is higher.
Dropped in on Mon I think. Service is consistently great. Bring your hunger - portions are filling.
Instagram worthy shots of ice cream? Yes, please! If its your first time, they give you a comprehensive sampler with all their soft serve flavors which was kind of satisfying on its own. I had a hard time deciding, some of their flavors were pretty unique. Settled on an ube with a matcha cone. On the pricey side but the service was on point.
Awesome taste, great service. I totally recommend!! :)
Bae is a great location for donuts and desserts. I stopped by hopping to find what I needed and they had my sugar fix. I highly recommend you visit the next time you are in the area. The service if fast, friendly and with a smile.
I came here looking forward to trying some fun flavors. It was just ok. I tried their fruity pebbles and cinnamon toast cereal flavors. They were pretty on point, but not something I wanted in ice cream format. Im not a fan of the cereal movement in desserts. So I tried the strawberry banana now and later. It was tart and tasty. It was pretty dense however which didnt allow for sprinkles to really mix in well. It wasnt creamy however. I ate the whole thing, but I wasnt really into it.I wouldnt come here just for the charcoal photo, which I didnt try either because I cant stand black food. There are a million places to get desserts around this area. NEXT!
I looked up an ice cream place to try around LA and found this! My friend got the Mixed Feelings with the black charcoal infused pineapple flavored soft serve with vanilla and I got the Earl Grey + Coco Puffs soft serve. The pineapple charcoal flavor strictly tasted like pineapple which was cool!It was $18 for both with the cone and gold flakes. The gold flakes tastes like NOTHING. Its more there for the aesthetics. The cone was also extra charge and it melted from the bottom which was disappointing..My best bet is to go try it out with a friend but SHARE ONE! Grab a spoon or two and scoop if youre a germaphobe, but trust me, as expensive as it was, forcing myself to finish the overloading sweetness before it melted away was not worth it.Definitely WORTH a try though! But not the drive. Come when youre around the area!
