Be warned: this location may reject your CA drivers license. Despite having a month-old reservation and a matching current, valid CA drivers license, we were told that the ID didnt look real and that all members of our party were being recorded on a U-haul blacklist. Please note that the process for verification was strictly subjective and visual: there was no official procedure or machine used to validate the license, which has never had its validity questioned. No remedy was offered by the female employee at the counter, who was curt and dismissive in her interactions with customers. We were forced to travel and had to rent a smaller trailer the same day from the Baldwin Hills location, which had no problem verifying valid drivers licenses and provided quick and pleasant customer service.
Went on sunday and they said nah to the propane…drive from far. That really sucked.Best place to refill your propane in the west side…almost always the owner himself will help you. I rented a van and the van was given to me uncleaned. It was clear that it was not cleaned well as it looked like the personnel was just about to start cleaning it before handing it over to me when I arrived by mid morning. The van reeked of what I believed to be urine and other awful smells. The steering wheel was also very sticky. You feel like you need to shower the second you open the door and enter the vehicle. I am generally okay with dirtiness and things not being clean but this was a whole new level... I had a friend who was helping me move and he entered the vehicle and made the same comment regarding the smell...Absolutely one of the worst rental vehicles I have every rented... would not recommend this location. AVOID if you can and save yourself the additional stress of a gross car during moving, which is already stressful...
Renting is almost always a pain and sometimes a nightmare. Yesterday after returning a trailer it occurred to me that my experience at this Uhaul location is usually pretty good, sometimes really good. I seldom review, but they deserve some credit.
This location was clean and organized. The customer service was fast and efficient. The staff was friendly and the vehicle was in tiptop shape.
Excellent experience. Easy. In and out fast. Agent knew mileages and estimated total cost quickly on several options. Agent estimate was on mark within a dollar. Truck drove fine I recommend

This was the worst experience ever. I checked in using the app. I drove 51 miles and have been charged $799 for mileage. No one answered when I called. Virtual chat was not available either. Never use the app to check in or out. Always do it in person.
I just waited 18min to talk to someone and CARLA picked up with an attitude. I asked her if she can tell me more about my reservations. She began to talk smart and then hung up on me. She hung up on me for asking a question. I know to treat people as you would want to be treated. But, CARLA was very unprofessional and did not display the same sentiment.
The staff were very helpful and kind. Check-in and check-out was fast and the van was in good condition.
This place managed to make me angrier than I have ever been in my life. I now understand how The Hulk must feel. (No, I didn’t smash anything. But the anger!!) We made our reservation for 8am to pick up via mobile device. When we arrived, the website told us that our reservation had been rescheduled for hand delivery and we couldn’t pick it up until 9am. This was never communicated to us. Not via email or text or anything. I got on the phone to call the main uhaul line, and since we couldn’t do anything we went to grab a coffee while I sat on hold. I was on hold for 45 minutes, and transferred 3 times and no one was able to help. They said we would need to talk to the store. We arrived back at the uhaul and there was an employee parking returned vehicles. When I asked him if we could pick up our truck because we were supposed to pick up at 8, he said he couldn’t help us until they opened at 9 (it was 8:55). When I asked why he could help other people and not us he said, “if you don’t like it. Go somewhere else.”We’re now an hour behind in what was a very tight schedule. When they finally opened the store, we went in to pick up our truck and the woman behind the desk proceeded to lie to us. She said our pick up time was not for 8, it was for 9. At this point I started crying from frustration. When we showed her the email confirming our reservation for 8 she said, “well then someone didn’t set it up last night and that’s not my fault.” To which I responded, “I really don’t care whose fault it is. I just want to get our truck and go.” She looked at me and said, “I’m not talking to you. I’m talking to him” and pointed at my fiancé. I really didn’t know how to respond to this. Somehow, we got through the check in process and got our truck but it was a long, frustrating, and unprofessional experience. Do not go here.

Reserved online, my van was waiting, did online check-in. Took just a few minutes to complete the rental, and I was on the road in a few minutes — in a very clean, newer van. Zero problems, a seamless rental, one minute from the 10 Freeway, so very central. Great experience.
I was worried that it would take a long time to get the truck because of social distancing, but the place wasnt busy and it went really fast. The truck was much more up to date than I remember the trucks being in the past. I liked that the cab of the pick up was roomy. The dolly we rented was good. The return was easy. The staff was efficient. Overall a positive experience.
They wont let you park your car there on a day rental,forcing us to leave our car in the hood of Crenshaw....

I made a reservation with a third party U-Haul dealership, United Mailboxes on Friday (6/26), and unfortunately, it was a disaster. I decided to reserve a rental truck with U-Haul of Crenshaw and I wholeheartedly recommend this location to anyone who wants a seamless pickup and drop off experience. It took five minutes to pick up our rental truck at 7:05 am on Saturday (6/27). Roy, the general manager, was quick and efficient — not to mention, friendly — and his colleague (can’t remember his name) was as well. The rental was newer than the ones I’ve driven in the past and I had zero issues with it. I dropped off the truck at 11:45 am and my drop off experience was efficient and a great end to the start of my move... get it? Anyway, it was an experience that exceeded my expectations and I will be renting from them in the future!
What’s the point of having an app for picking up and returning if you still have to go inside and wait forever for the front desk. They also were late 30 minutes when picking up the truck because they were late to opening up the shop.EDIT: We wait an hour in line. THEN they let us know that the card reader is broken and only accept cash and there is no ATM onsite. So we had to drive down the street for an ATM which took another 30 minutes. This is ridiculous.

Although I was able to rent the truck I needed at the end, the two associates sitting at the desk showed zero interest in helping me with my reservation at all. I reserved a truck 2 week in advanced to move out the weekend my lease was supposed to end. I get to the location. Provide the information for my reservation and guy at the front desk informs me they don’t available the truck I reserved. I need to call “the number on the website so they can check out other locations for trucks available”. Him and his co-worker sitting next to him showed zero effort in helping me at all. I explained to them I needed the truck that day because my lease ends the next day. How come is possible I made a reservation 2 weeks ahead and instead of notify me, at least as a simple courtesy via email, text, phone call, (yes you can use emails to update your customer on the status of their order instead of spamming my inbox with ridiculous marketing email I don’t care about). Their only answer to me was “it’s end of the month. Everyone is moving”. I decided to call customer service under the promise according to the guy associate “they are really responsive, they’ll pick you your call really quick”. 20 mins later and 2 calls disconnected where i didn’t even got the chance to speak to a representative, I come back inside with the only idea release the wrath of 100 karens on them. I’m not sure how the owner of the branch got involved because I barely opened my mouth to spit out fire when he was already in front of me getting my information and 5 mins later he gave me the keys of one of the trucks. Thanks to him, I don’t rate the service poor because he was diligent to complete my order but both the associates at the front desk and your phone customer service are a nightmare.
The manager, Roy Mendez, was great. I booked this truck only 24 hours beforehand because Budget Truck Rental couldnt fulfill my reservation. Roy was awesome and made the arduous task of moving as easy as can be.
When I got my rental online, it showed me one price and it showed that I was able to return the van to a different location.When I got to the place to pick up my rental, the lady helping me was very rude and unprofessional. She did not want to answer my questions and told me if I didnt want to pay that then I could leave and not take the truck in the most unprofessional manner. She told me I will be charged $300 if I took the truck back to another location and did not bother to try to help me in any way.
U-Haul of Crenshaw was great and helped me get what I needed for my move.This is related to a different location, not U-Haul of Crenshaw. It was a neighborhood rental (UNITED Mailboxes & Office Solutions, 8549 Wilshire Blvd) and they refused my reservation and when I asked to speak to a manager they initially refused that then gave me a phone number that was either wrong or the one who answered it lied to me that he was not the manager. U-Haul of Crenshaw was great but the other location does reflect poorly on U-Haul as a company even tho they are not owned by U-Haul.
I wish I could give 0 stars. The manager Roy Mendez is rude, unethical, and treats customers like yesterday’s garbage. Doesn’t honor reservations and is completely unhelpful to the point of absurdity. Clearly has a loathing for the customer. Goes against U-Haul mission and vision. Avoid this branch at all costs!

I was in a pinch with transporting my vehicle and U-Haul of Crenshaw was reliable, efficient and exceeded my expectations of customer service by a long shot. They are located conveniently beside the Highway 10. Roy went above and beyond and really set the bar high when it comes to professionalism and understanding the customer. Keep up the great work!

They advertise as $19.99, and then, during the reservation it becomes $80 something, and when I return the car, I pay $120 something. If this is not a scam, then what is?I regret my decision of renting a truck from U-Haul, and I will never do it again. Watch your wallet if you come to U-Haul. Go for 2 Guys and a Truck solutions.
I had to have my reservation moved to this location when my original pick-up location wasn’t ready. They were on top of everything with both pick-up and drop-off, and they made the rest of my day go smoothly after a bumpy start!

Didnt get my vehicle even when reserved 1week ahead of time. They said their system was terrible, not an excuse for doing business. They had to transfer me to another location 15 mins away, ending up wasting 3hrs of my time and extra milage cost for a location further away.
Great service still a little slow for they are always busy. Customers all the time (They got better now with automatic system at ring-up point). I go usually to fill-up my Liquid Propane gas tank for barbeque.

Terrible customer service! Spoke to Opal on the phone who not only did not help me, she purposely put me on hold in the middle of our conversation and never came back. Went to the Uhaul at 6108 Pico and they were AMAZING! Go there instead, they actually care about their customers.

Well, 2 tires blown on the trailer causing massive delays. Very dangerous situation. Not to mention the classic car we were hauling. Very upset by how they handled it all together. Putting my life in danger alone would get you sued. FIX YOUR FLAWS UHAUL!!!!! Fix it
The woman with the glasses is angry and mean for no reason.They also charged my card for my rental I got on Monday for a second time today and Im on hold right now to complain to corporate and get that second charge taken off. How do you charge me the day of for $70 and then 3 days later you charge me again??I dont know what was going on that day with the woman with the glasses, but everyone else there was super nice to me.
Horrible service! Lady at the counter was rude and demeaning to every customer that approached her counter. Yelling at customers to not park in the “uhaul parking lot” and yelling at the employees in an unprofessional manner. I immediately left after realizing this place was a disaster. I got on the phone and found a uhaul store in Korea town that had much better service and inventory. No I do not work for uhaul yes I do appreciate good customer service. 0/10
The general manager/owner was very rude. We wanted our hitch removed and they had told us when we got it installed that it would be $30 to remove. When we got there the lady who had a badge that said owner, was smoking outside. We told her what we needed and she started laughing loudly sarcastically. My husband and I were very confused. After she questioned us for 5 min why we needed the hitch removed, she made is wait while she attended other costumers that got there after and then she told us it would be at least $65 -$85. At this point we just walked away.
Prices are as expected: decent. Customer service can improve but overall good for your moving needs.
DONT RENT FROM THIS U-HAUL. TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT AND CUSTOMER SERVICE. This was the worst experience Ive ever had at U-haul!!! Rented a truck with a ramp because I needed it to unload the items I was moving. At the pickup location, after we loaded everything, the ramp wont go back into the truck. Called U-haul roadside assistance and was told I needed to wait until a repair truck came, which would take 2 hours. I asked if I could get another truck because I had hired people to help me move. They told me it was against policy. 2 hours later the repair guy gets the ramp back in the truck but we were advice not to take it out again. At this point I need to remove everything from the truck and my workers have return home. So Im out $300 and I headd back to the U-haul to return the truck. The manager TRACY isnt there but they put a hold on my account until she can return in 20 mins and call me back. She calls 4 hours later and when I dont pick up, she charges my account anyway. I call back the next day and she isnt there again. So I call back on Monday and, with attitude, she tells me the truck was fine and implies that Im lying. I tell her its on record, because I went thru U-haul roadside assistance, and she says Ill have to check and call you back. 3 days later I call and she LIES and says she called me, but I didnt pick up. No missed calls or messages on my phone. Then she says she can refund the cost of the truck but not the gas, insurance, or reimburse me for my workers. She then gets an attitude when I tell her this is unacceptable. This whole scenario is completely absurd, now Im dealing with corporate.

Gave away my 15 ft truck because I was late. No where on the website does it say they will do that. Terrible service. The lady at the counter blamed uhaul for not stating they can do that. How about not giving away my truck that I put a credit card on file for.
This location lacks the ability to listen to the clients needs. I placed a order via online so the page apparently losses the signal so therefore I went personally to rent a trailer. As I returned home went thru my emails realized that I made multiple orders.so called their customer service rep and had them cancel the order I placed thru the internet. The employee cancels both rental instead of just one, completely disregards what I had told them. Waste of time and unprofessional, lacks the skill of listening do not come here

I went in to refill my propane tank and the person basically told me it was too dirty and didnt want to touch it!!! He told me he would do it this time but that I shouldnt come back!!! WTF! How do you work for uhaul and be concerned about getting your hands dirty. I couldnt believe it. I did not get my propane tank refilled there. There are other places and other uhaul locations!!
