This place is so good!! Theyre not doing dine-in service right now but they have plenty of outdoor seating. And theyve adapted their building to take orders from the window--pretty clever! The buildings outside has always grabbed my eye and Im so glad I finally stopped by. Service was fast and friendly, though they were also patient with me taking time to read the menu. The pumpkin spice latte was delicious. I also grabbed a cinamon roll for a quick breakfast. I was expecting the normal pastry, but it was actually laminated pastry and delightful. There are some electric car charging stations in their back parking lot. Ill definitely be back here soon.
Good coffee with robust flavor for house blend. crepes are overpriced but it was good. Service was very friendly, but did have to wait a bit on a small order
First time here! Was hoping to go inside but only window service was available. The young man who took my order was very helpful and made my drink with less sugar. Very patient and friendly. I had the blueberry pancake latte. Very sweet!
Delicious crepes and coffee. Just wish the portions were a little larger for the price you pay. Cant wait to come back and visit when the indoor dining is open.
Currently they are only serving walk up coffee at their window. I had the mega mocha which has three shots of espresso. It was good. My friend had the 24 karat gold latte and enjoyed it a lot. Cant speak to the interior. But the line moved quickly and the prices seem reasonable.
Best coffee in town. Really cool environment. Good vibes.
First of all, this place has become my personal breakfast heaven. They serve excellent coffee and the best crepes in town until 3pm...as good as in Paris. I get the Swwet Kid Crepe with goat cheese, honey, cinnamon, and strawberries pretty often, while my Dad gets his spinach feta crepe. YES! Both Sweet & Savory Crepes!! I love this place and everyone should try it.
Safai has been stomping grounds for me for much of my young adult life - Ive had multiple meetings, study sessions, relaxing visits with my wife here, and even attended terrarium workshops. Safai has a great selection of coffee and make some wonderful crepes in the mornings.
Cute place! Great staff! Iced Chai wonderful!
The place has a nice vibe and ambience. Coffee and drinks are above average though
One of my favorite places in Louisville. Every time I go to Safai the coffee is great and staff is friendly. They also have fantastic crepes!
First time visitor got a coffee and a creape and both were excellent will def return to this coffee shop
Yall, this place is awesome. The food and staff keep me coming back. They have unique creations, and care about the environment. Loooove them!
The best coffee drinks and delightful crepes too!
Havent had the coffee, but the crepes, smoothies and tea we got were all quite good. Service was very friendly as well.
Love a good pour over. Very cozy shop, friendly folks. Love bar seating that faces out the window. Pretty much what I look for in a coffee shop, after quality of coffee of course. Very beautiful place to spend this cold, rainy day. I highly recommend if you are looking for a well made, organic cup of coffee and a quiet place to sit and work.
Their food and drinks are so good! I love their new crepedillas, so creative! Their Iced Black Magic drink is my forever go-to and their purple rain is also absolutely delicious! The ambiance and vibes of the shop are also very welcoming and relaxing!
Strong coffee game, tight Covid protocol
I was treated so rudely today. My family and I were getting a few drinks to celebrate a birthday. Everyone waited outside except my daughter and her friend. After we stepped outside, some other people went in. They have a limit of 6, but it is not posted clearly.I stepped inside briefly to tell my daughter we were going across the street. The young man on the other side of the partition told me to “get out”. I was unaware of the capacity limit, but I told him I was just telling my daughter something. He said “I don’t care.”It wasn’t until I stepped outside that I saw the capacity limit (written low on the chalk board, not on the door).I understand capacity, but this young man was extremely rude and offensive. He could have communicated with dignity and respect I will never go to Safai again. Wow. I have been a great customer for years, but not any more.
Safai has the perfect atmosphere. It’s good for getting work done or just chilling and it’s also a great place to talk and be with friends. The crepes are all homemade and delicious; I recommend The Mexican Sunrise! The frozen latte is my go to drink, but a cheaper option is the cold brew. Both are super good! The prices are about average for a Louisville coffee shop. Lots of seating, including a meeting room that you can reserve. One of my favorites in the city!
Would always go there twice a week until they became a follower and went political... You cant sit at the front window without seeing controversial signs in your face... Sorry I back the boys in blue
Had a rich, dark roast pour over..perfect flavorful cup to start the day with. Crepes are perfect balance of chew and crisp. Mexican Sunrise crepe was loaded with veggies and bacon. Will make this a regular spot in LOU
My favorite coffee shop, with a walk up window so I can bring the pup
One of the best coffee shops in Louisville. Love there Crepes and Ice Mochas.
Great coffee shop in a beautiful neighborhood. I’d give 5 stars except the young lady working there was surprisingly rude to me for no reason. I’ll still go back because stuff happens and the coffee is great but it was a little bit off-putting.
Staying at an Air BNB in Louisville for the weekend. Found Safai just around the corner. Thanks for your quick service.
Love the tea and crepes are alrighti’ve gone a few different times now and they’re always rude to me for no reason?
Great drinks! Smooth flavors. Nice staff and very helpful. Sweet decor.
Great coffee, Friendly staff!
Great place for crepes
Nice people and fast service!
Always taking good care of folks, great crepes and coffee. Love them.
Great coffee and crepes!
I love this cozy spot on Bardstown. They have a few conversation pits and lots of tables. They offer coffee, tea, beer, wine and a few cocktails along with a limited, but varied menu of food. We often pop in on a Friday night for a glass of wine or a fun coffee drink and some conversation. Service is friendly and the atmosphere is inclusive with a low key vibe.
The atmosphere is great. The menu has less than 20 items (which I love because I always panic whent theyre taking my order) and they were more than willing to customize my order to a lower carb entree!
Excellent Coffee.Scramble Eggs Florentine! Off the charts Fabulous!
Just as good as my friend said
We got 2 cold brews, a chai, a smoothie and their Bangkok brew. All were fantastic, not too sweet not too bitter. Also people were socially distanced for the line and the employees were following all guidelines. If we lived here we would be making this a regular stop.
Delicious, reasonably priced coffee drinks and small snacks. Coffee was incredibly smooth and not at all bitter, but very strong
Kind of a funky fresh little coffee shop. My wife and I had eaten breakfast across the street and popped in to get a drink to go. I got a mocha, and my wife got a delicious blackberry and chocolate concoction. The prices were reasonable, the service was good, and the drinks were delicious. Id definitely recommend this place.
My favorite local coffee spot, hands down.
They presented a lot of options and I love how they assisted me!
Best coffee and baristas in Louisville
Ive been going to Safai pretty regularly for the last couple of years. They literally make the BEST cup of coffee Ive ever had. They make most of their non-espresso coffee via the pour over process, which takes some time. If youre in a huge hurry, get something faster like an espresso drink. But if you are looking for a cup of coffee that has fantastic flavor, this is the only way to go. The crepes are also a fantastic way to start the day. The staff is always friendly (even with those who get impatient over the coffee making process). I love this place and the people who make it awesome.
Excellent coffee at great prices. About $3.75 for a medium and high quality. They sell 12 oz bags for $12 which is about the same price as cafe du monde (my current provider). Ill be buying from them next time. They also offer alcohol!!
I went here with my wife and daughter. I had the white mocha latte with a hint of blackberry. The coffee was excellent. My wife had a standard pour over, which was not as good. The place had a great atmosphere and great service. Overall a good place but for standard coffee I will stay a Starbucks pike guy.
Safai is pretty much always on point never eaten there but my coffee/tea is always good
Comfortable, cute, good coffee.Covid Safe 🙌🙌
Food and service is always amazing!
This might be the chillest coffee spot in the Highlands. The baristas are very nice, they have great seasonal and fancy drinks in addition to an excellent cup of coffee with locally roasted beans. The crepes are a big favorite as well. The space here is very relaxing and perfect for plopping down with a book and enjoying your drink, or chatting with friends. On nice days the patio is a great place to people watch and enjoy bottomless mimosas. Theres even a dedicated mimosa window so you dont have to go back inside! This coffee shop also hosts a lot of community events, which is nice. The owners are pretty active around town and also own the new Logan Street Market.
Excellent food and service
Loved their cold brew!
Great coffee, good drinks, and good service. The shop has a good atmosphere and some outside seating as well. For those interested they also carry some beers.
Tasty coffee and snacks, and friendly staff! Before corona-19 they were also a great place to chill, work, whatever!
Great coffee and good prices.
Best crepes ever!
Good quality coffee. Their vanilla latte w oat milk is to die for.
Best little coffee shop in town, with excellent tea offerings, plus crepes! My favorite place to meet a friend, or work on a project! Lively but calm, welcoming space!
Stopped into Safai with some friends while on spring break. The cappuccino I had was great! There was plenty of seating, including a large wood table that the six of us could sit around and hang out. Would totally recommend for anyone looking to get some quiet study or catch up with some old friends.
This place was a very cool little place. I was with a group of people at the front, made especially for groups to meet. I only purchased a bottle of cold water but they had a lot of menu items that I will probably try the next time our group meets.
Its a very friendly atmosphere and I really enjoy the Chai Latte. However, there is usually a residue at the bottom of my cup. It would also be nice if the beverages and food items were a little less expensive especially because I cannot eat a lot of things there.
This is the closest to home I feel in a business in this city. From the incredible staff, to the culture and feel of the shop, its my favorite coffee shop in Louisville. The crepes are to die for....the coffee is delicious and the real deal, and the entire place just makes you feel one with the community and like youre really supporting an amazing vision for what local businesses should be and represent.
High quality cup of coffee brewed to order. Very smooth and flavorful and the service was friendly and attentive. Food and many other drink options. Nice indoor seating and outdoor tables, too.
Great, friendly and fast service. My coffee was delicious
Great atmosphere and the service is excellent. Wonderful selection of drinks... will be trying the other side of coffee bar soon and do the alcohol ones..
I love this place and I dont even drink coffee anymore. Good atmosphere, friendly staff, and good offerings of drink varieties (coffee, smoothies, alcoholic beverages, etc) and a few interesting foods. Theyve got an electric car charger in the back and are in a good spot to take a walk around one of my favorite spots in the Highlands.
Nice quiet place to read. Good coffee, charming staff.Edit: after several visits, they have outstanding whole bean coffee. Best decaf in town, for my tastes at least. Service is always excellent, and their crepes are also tasty. Fun part of the community.
First time to try this Coffee Cafe. The Staff was very friendly. I got a white chocolate Latte with raspberry in it. So good. Plus, I order a crepe and it was the best with fruit. Prices were good and fair. The atmosphere was nice and relaxing. Nice space between table and chairs which I like. They serve Wine as well. I will be going back soon! It will be my new go to place for hanging out and lattes.
I had to wait for a while to get my order because it was a Saturday afternoon and there was a throng of customers. But boy, was it worth the wait. I had an oat milk latte which was amazing. They use Oatly which is my favourite vegan milk. And the berries and cream crepe was out of the world. I dont know how they managed to make the cream so perfectly sweet, yet not overpowering.Must try!
One of the best coffee shops in town. A great place to work. They have a small front room you can reserve easily for free, just ask an employee. I use it to have writing meetings but Ive also seen book clubs and craft nights happen. All the staff are super friendly.
Large variety of crepes availible to eat. The ones my wife and I had were delicious. The coffee was also great!
Wonderful crepes, great coffee, busy but cozy. lots of plants, comfy seating, big sunny windows. good wifi, some outlets, great place for studying. bottomless mimosas on sundays 10-2.
Very good coffee and service. the staff was always friendly and the coffee is some of my favorite in town. I actually like theirs better than Starbucks. Great location as well. Parking can be a pain but if you cant find a spot on Bardstown check on of the streets in the neighborhood, you can usually find a spot there.
Great service. Great drinks. Great crepes. Great atmosphere. All around a fun time!
Fresh environment. Normal prices for high end coffee shop. The fruit crepe is amazing!Friendly staff and lots of seating. Will be going back again for sure.
Just tried new Chai they are working on, delicious! Go try a dirty chai from Safai!
The atmosphere is lovely.
I love this coffee shop, probably my favorite in Louisville! The environment is relaxed and good for focusing. The coffee is great. Plus they have crepes and m alcoholic beverages.
The coffee is great, but there are so many things at Safai besides coffee! Homemade crepes, beer on tap, bottomless (and generous) $8 mimosas on Sundays, and lots of other goodies. Im particularly fond of their Italian sodas with lavender. Staff is also always friendly and kind.
Best coffee in town. Pourovers are good, lattes are good, staff is the bomb. I spend so much money here they should be giving me five stars.
Cute murals of animals, tasty crepes and coffee. Also they have booze which is nice for when you dont want to go to a bar setting
I great local coffee shop with plenty of spaces to sit including comfy couches. A really cool decor with art for sale and on the walls. Friendly staff, quality drinks, good food. I definitely suggest their crepes.
Tried this spot for the 1st time yesterday and loved it! Cozy, quaint spot. I loved the coffee and the crepes were delicious! Ill definitely be visiting again soon!
One of the better coffee shops in Louisville. You get a free cup with a purchase of a bag of beans. They have great food and there always seems to be some class or something interesting happening here.If you get a regular coffee they will do a pour over so expect to wait a bit if you are in a rush. Also they serve alcohol which is cool in the evenings.
