LONG BLACK HAIR COOKED INTO MY WAFFLE CONE Imagine licking your cone to find this! If I could give negative stars I would. We stopped in for ice cream and were barely acknowledged. The staff acted as though we were a major inconvenience to them. Reluctantly we ordered a couple cones and half way through eating one, one of us found a long nasty black hair that had been cooked into the waffle cone. The space wasn’t clean so we should have known. We went back to let the employee know and she literally laughed. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Do yourself a favor and go to the next ice cream shop down the street!
The waffle ice cream combo is excellent, and each part is delicious by itself. My wife and I moved further away from this location recently, but we still make the drive on occasion as it is just that good. I recommend trying to the classic first and then trying out the different combinations later. The service can be a bit slow at times, but it is more than worth the wait.
Come here if you like desserts that are a mix of hot and cold and you are not scared of calories. The honey whip is delicious, the chocolate mousse is great. The waffle itself doesnt have any particular flavor, but if it did it would probably be too much since the toppings are all mostly sweet. I sat inside and it was a bit sticky, which probably comes with these kinds of dessert places. Overall, Ill definitely be back when I get another craving for a baked good paired with cold toppings.
Who doesnt want cold, creamy ice cream and warm crispy waffles with toppings? My kids LOVE this place! Ive enjoys everything Ive ever tried here. Just a scoop of just brew it is all I need, but the waffle sundae is amazing
The staff is mostly pretty friendly and the dessert options are very delicious. The wait time can be a little long, even if they are not busy, but it’s definitely worth the wait. I highly recommend the custom waffle sundae and definitely try the Oreo butter! Price is quite expensive for comparable ice cream shops, it’s about $12 for a custom sundae, which is really high. I do wish their prices weren’t so high, I haven’t been to a more expensive ice cream shop.
Its very expensive so I suggest going during one of their deal nights. However the price is almost justifiable because the liege waffle is the best waffle and they have a large assortment of ice cream flavors to choose from. Also the have non-dairy/vegan options as well like cookies and cream and (one of my favs) mango sorbet. Check them out! Theyre a pretty great chain.
The waffle sundaes are amazing. The iced cinnamon roll waffle as a base to any sundae is just phenomenal. I cant speak to all the flavors, but the motherload and peanut butter cup are delicious.
Very disappointed for my first experience there last night! I’ve been wanting to come out for a while but it’s across town so we waited til we had a friend in town to take him out. And I had ordered myself the apple pie with vanilla ice cream and caramel! My boyfriend ordered the waffle ice cream. They came out to inform me we couldn’t get the apple pie with ice cream because the manager wouldn’t let the worker cut the pie for the night (9pm last night) and they closed at 11. So then I asked for a different flavor that was available and then he said it wasn’t anymore.. so he then offered me the new flavors for next week which I truly wasn’t too thrilled with them but I picked one and it was not flavorful at all I actually ended up giving it to our friend because it tasted like water down vanilla. I also asked whenever I had to pick a flavor if I would get a refund back of the original item I ordered for the difference and he said no we will just give you the amount of ice cream for the higher price you paid and I let him know I didn’t want a ton of ice cream I would only want one scoop, like I had ordered one scoop with the pie. And he said okay to giving me one scoop and I got no refund. So essentially I paid 10$ for one scoop of watered down ice cream with a cone. I will not go back. Very disappointed.
A bit spendy and slow today. Ok shakes and cones. Nice to get out once in awhile.
Their ice cream was not good enough for it to be that pricey for a *super* strict 4oz. The naive teenager behind the counter even told me he would not purchase a bowl because you get more in a cone. So they admitted they know theyre ripping off customers. I have never been to an ice cream store where they dont fill the bowl. I asked for a little bit more and all the kid did was just snarl and give attitude.Good luck, kid. Hope you get used to serving ice cream because youre going to be doing it for a while with that work ethic.I also found a hair in my ice cream, which looks like is a common trend looking at past reviews. I very rarely write Google reviews, but their customer service just really pinched a nerve. The teenagers behind the counter are useless. Was not worth the extra steps of walking halfway from my car and turning around to grab my mask and back.
Fantastic Flavor and Excellent Service! We visited Liege for the first time only 15 minutes before closing tonight and Im glad we did! Ever have a craving you cant shake? Well, tonight it was me and ice cream. The shop associate was already into her cleanup routine for the night, but she was beyond helpful and expertly prepared our delicious treats. I deeply regret not inquiring after her name so I could give her a proper shout out here. You were awesome and thank you for making a less than awesome day so much better for me!TLDR: Liege offers curated ice cream flavors for cones, sundaes, or on proprietary waffles, with an assortment of toppings. Also, being served are milkshakes and fun-flavor soda floats. This ice cream shop does it their own way, you should definitely try it!
Zero stars. Heather (assistant manager) was horrible. We traveled out of our way to get ice cream. My kids were so excited! The store was listed as closing at 10 pm. We arrived at 9:37. A worker saw us pull up, and even though customers were seated and eating, she locked the door AS SOON as I walked up. I pecked on the door repeatedly. She ignored me. Customers got her attention, so she finally walked to the door. She informed me, very rudely, that they were closing at 9:30 this week only. Sorry I was out of luck. She was beyond rude.
Great concept, but they have some work to do. Their prices are too steep (nearly $11 for the ice cream and waffle combo) and their liege waffles have room for improvement.. the actual waffle was a little too soft and had no crunch. The ice cream and the flavor options are exceptional though! I will try this place again in near future to see if they have improved.
Good ice cream, lots of people so service was slow, only two people working.
Its good once in a while. Fairly expensive. You used to be able to select 2 flavors for milkshakes and now its only one?? I was also surprised that adding a scoop for a regular costs extra instead of just dividing the regular scoops like at Graeters or any other ice cream place really.
Well worth the splurge! Staff is always friendly and helpful, extremely knowledgeable of their product. The entire store is always clean and staff busy their butts to keep the back line straighten. I ordered the seasonal favorite which had peppermint ice cream, white chocolate chips, whipped cream, and a waffle and it was a great mix of textures and tastes. My husband and kids each enjoyed their waffle sundaes as well. The sundaes are HUGE! Since it was a special occasion, we had decided to have dessert first, then have a meal after, but we were so full that it became our meal, definitely could split one and be content.
For months I have been wanting to go here. My wife who said this place wasnt going to be great and its just all looks and no taste. Well for our anniversary we decided to eat here and we cannot say enough positive things about this place. The atmosphere was amazing the employees were amazing the waffles were made by God or probably a chick named Liz dont know if God is a girl or boy but doesnt matter ice cream was made by him as well or her whatever getting past the point. This place can forever take my money the waffles were amazing ice cream was amazing seriously it was one of the best places we went to in Louisville and possibly the east coast of America. This is truly a place that the picture tastes exactly how you imagine it in your head. Truly outstanding and if I could give it another five stars I would. At first I was like the prices are very high but as I looked at it $10.85 well worth it.
Too expensive. Waffle was good, but ice cream average
Oh My Goodness. You need to go and you need to go NOW! This is a delicious ice cream spot with a few unique touches. They make special waffles (not a regular breakfast waffle either) that you can add to your Sunday and it’s AMAZING. They have lots of toppings to choose from with some interesting non traditional toppings. Their ice cream is so delicious and almost gooey as it melts. This was our first time in and the staff was super helpful and patience with us. They were very enthusiastic and did a great job helping us out. We will be back soon!
Very disappointed with our last visit. This was my favorite place for ice cream. It has been a year since my husband and I had been here and we decided to go last weekend. We got our usual bananza in the waffle cone. Their prices went up $3.00 on one scoop of ice cream in a waffle cone. That’s just crazy. They would cost us $6 each and now they are $9 each. Won’t be going back.
Came in for the first time! We ordered 4 waffle Sundaes! We expected the waffles to be freshly made for how expensive they charged, but they reheated the old waffles for us which came out hard. Very disappointed, would never go back again!!!
Ice cream and waffles are delicious. Service is subpar. We received the wrong order after they initially forgot the item entirely.
Delicious rich and creamy ice cream, served by very nice staff. Slightly expensive, but also high quality.
This place is amazing... the ice cream is delicious and the place is very clean and modern. Also the service was outstanding.. only 1-star reduction for the price and not optimal handled service.. i already finished my cone, when we got the waffles for my wife and kids. It takes very long for the Belgian waffles
Make your employees pull their hair back in a clean pony tail. I just stood in line watching a employee only wearing a hat with her hair down...she was dragging her hair thru someones ice-cream as she kept leaning forward to dig into the ice cream bin below. The order Im here to pick up is for a friend, but I can guarantee I will never come back here for myself
Unmatched. It was very sweet, so here’s a heads up if you do not enjoy that. My only complaint is the location. I wish I would have taken photos and I wish they could build one somewhere nearer to my end of town.
Love the vegan cookies and cream icecream 🖤
So I ordered a cheesecake double take. It was wonderful! Definitely a fan but my issue with it was quantity. So you pay quite a bit of money over $10 for one small scoop of ice cream a waffle and their toppings. My boyfriend got a banana milkshake (large) which was equivalent to maybe an 8oz cup of milk. It was literally just milk and very little flavor. I would say the consistency of it was closer to milk not sure if they even put ice cream in it. This was also our anniversary and I wanted to try this place for a long time. I do not think its worth the money even though the ice cream and waffle was very good. So if you want to over pay for a sweet treat then this is your place. I will give them another try in hopes that maybe it was just a busy day and they were overwhelmed with orders. I certainly hope you dont pay $12 for one scoop of ice cream a a small waffle.
Love the waffles and ice cream. Service is wonderful too.
Very disappointed with our first visit. Quite pricey for a small waffle, single scoop of ice cream, with whipped cream, caramel, and nuts that were mainly peanuts. I would not expect peanuts on a nearly $12 sundae. Waffle was awful - doughy in the middle and bland. I was expecting the great, crisp liege style Ive experienced in NYC. We will not be back.
Mango Sorbet had no mango flavor 😞
Tried the new pies and must say they are yummy. Yes, plural. I took several slices home for the family. These are great pies for the holidays.
I was happy when I found out they offer vegan options. There isn’t many choices to choose from when it pertains to vegan. However what they do offer you can add in toppings and create something you can enjoy. I ordered the cookies and cream vegan options and it was so wonderful.
The quality of the milk used to make the ice cream is immediately apparent. Its rich without having to rely on an abundance of sugar, creating what is, for me, one of the best ice creams Ive had the pleasure of eating. Love their seasonal flavors & the addition of the waffle bites. They really go out of their way to let you customize your order so you get that perfect milkshake or sundae.
Delicious, artisan, local, and locally sourced ice cream with in-house waffles and waffle cones made fresh! Its offerings are a little different than a typical ice creamery, with options that boast Kentucky Bourbon and Honey liqueur, but also classic chocolate and strawberry, its a great place for the whole family or even a more grown up ice cream date. Kids scoops are roughly $3.50 and single scoops $4.50, with a fresh waffle cones adding about $1.50. My husband got the peach cobbler waffle sundae, running about $10. Fresh, fluffy waffle topped with peach cobbler ice cream, peach cobbler, and whipped cream. Super yummy and enough to share!
Some of the best ice cream in town. The waffle I have yet to try.
Use to love this place. Terribly ashamed in it now. Changed their recipes, ruining the quality of their food. Not to mention, the woman who seemed to be the head manager was unreasonably RUDE. I saw some employees coughing and others without masks or not wearing them properly. As someone with a compromised immune system, this is a MAJOR red flag. I use to be proud of this place. Now I’m disgusted.
We went for the first time last night. Since we were celebrating a birthday, the idea of ice cream on a waffle seemed perfect.Service was great. But that’s all I can really say.First they are extremely expensive. $10 for a single serve dessert is not reasonable or something we would do unless it was a celebration. They are known for the waffles apparently but two out of the three of us trashed them. They were tough yet doughy and despite being fresh, tasted quite stale. As far as the ice cream goes, we ate it but it wouldn’t be enough to bring us back. It was kind of sticky. Sweet enough. But nothing to write home about.Good idea but fell short. Tough $45 lesson to learn. We won’t be back.
This place is delicious, so worth it. Your day will automatically get better after a visit! I wish they had more vegan options (Im allergic to milk) but they have more than anyone else in the city. So I cant be sad :)
This place is good, but not the best ice cream in Louisville or the best value. I ate a waffle cone with Papa ice cream (their version of bourbon flavored). First, the waffle cone itself was excellent. However, the ice cream was just average. There was very little, if any, bourbon flavor. Its a different consistency than typical ice cream, which is not a negative, just different. The prices are high for ice cream. One scoop is about $5. A waffle cone adds $1.50. When I pay $6.50 for an ice cream cone, it needs to be outstanding. I really wanted to try a waffle sundae, but the $10 price made me decide against it. Its worth another try to see if another flavor is better, but I cant give it 5 stars.
I was so excited about going with my sisters and nieces to check out the ice cream. The variety of flavors sounded amazing...I couldn’t wait! Well, I was so disappointed! We all tried something different but the bottom consensus was that the ice cream product itself was “not our cup of tea”. It had a similar feel of a fast food shake (slippery but frozen) and was very, Very sweet. I love sweets but this was too sugary even for ice cream. A couple of us had a waffle cone and a waffle which they liked but even they were not crazy about the ice cream itself. Now, on the other hand, the place was starting to get busy and it did seem as though the other patrons were enjoying their ice creams. Maybe it’s just personal preference?
A unique twist on a classic favorite. I know the thought of ice cream on a waffle sounds a bit strange but its a surprisingly yummy treat. They have cones and bowls but the waffle is where its at. You can select between some of their select waffle and ice cream builds or you can build your own. I highly recommend building your own master piece. When they bring it to you it looks almost to good to eat....key word is almost. It taste way better than it looks and you wont be disappointed.
The ice cream is phenomenal, lets just get that out there. Yes, it is a bit pricey but its not something I eat every week or even every month, its made locally (always a huge plus for me), and I got 3 free toppings. Toasted marshmallow is always worth it to me.The two girls working were very nice and very patient with us. The staff is not an issue here, at least not in our experience.I got one scoop in a cup, just enough to feed the craving. My boyfriend got a waffle sundae and thats where the 4 stars comes in. There were issues in the waffle making that killed the entire vibe. By the time he ordered, we had 3 waffle sundaes to wait on before his even got started. Im not sure why it was that slow but it was definitely a bummer. 15+ minutes on a waffle. Hopefully theres a faster process or option out there for the owners to experiment with.
Walked in tonight to get a scoop of ice cream and a slice of pie at 9:30 and was told we close at 9 tonight. Door still unlocked and all. No sign up nothing. Called and still picked up the phone. We frequent this establishment but this was our last time.
The ice cream isnt bad, but is expensive for ice cream. Service is 1/10, very slow.
Went to Holiday Manner location yesterday. TEERIBLE EXPERIENCE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE AT KIOSK. No staff cleaning outdoor sitting tables in my visit with multiple people coming and going. No staff wiping kiosk equipment screen. No one at empty kiosk station in front of door set up like a BARRICADE to help me order. Only 1 person could order at a time. Place seemed fully staffed with workers however they were slow to come outside and offer help. By time staff finally arrived to ask if I needed help people behind me were already anxious to order. DISAPPOINTED AND OVER PRICED. $20 for a 2 scoop cup with 2 toppings and a kiddie cup with whip and 1 topping. Suggestion- could you have staff come outside to take multiple orders in tandem with people using kiosk? Another suggestion if you invest money in kiosk system why not have better system for distributing orders other than staff coming out and yelling a name. Not friendly at all. Overpriced and no ambience.
Ice cream is a little expensive but good icecream is. Would eat at again.
First time visiting here and I ordered some extra toppings on my waffle sundae. They got it wrong and when I told them they got it wrong they scraped it off and replaced it with the right toppings rather than just making me a new one.The ice cream melted and It looked completely ridiculous and unappealing afterwards and still had traces of the wrong topping.I don’t plan on coming here ever again and would not recommend it to anyone.
Everything was great except for the price! Nice waitress and amazing honey whipped cream!
5 star ice cream, 3 star business model. Came here with my family on opening day. There was obviously a large line but it moved fairly quickly. I ordered a scoop for each of my kids and a waffle cone with cookie dough for myself. My spouse ordered the Liege waffle sundae. The ice cream and my cone was very good, but I only got one ball of dough in my scoop (albeit a fairly large one). The bill was just under $28 before tax. For ice cream. There are no items sized or priced for children on their menu, even though I noticed several other children later on enjoying a smaller sugar cone. Also, the special waffle alone is $6. I would have priced it closer to $4, even such a boutique dessert parlor located across the street from a Kroger. TL;DR, tasty treats but needs a kids menu, more dough in my cookie dough, cheaper waffles.
The Waffle Sundaes are AWESOME!!!
For those pj nights. Delicious.
The food is delicious and the staff are friendly, patient, and helpful. Love the waffle sundaes, ice cream, and milkshakes!
So glad you all are open. Helps get through these difficult times
The ice cream is delicious, and the staff are always so very nice. The waffle cones are delicious, and they have lots of flavor varieties that change every time we visit. Oh, and they have great dairy free vanilla!
Ordered online, card was charged, received a confirmation text for my order, when we arrived were told our order wasn’t in the system and they offered to do nothing about it. Called and spoke to a manager who said she would figure it out and have someone deliver our order and would call back with a solution. Waited 25 minutes without a return call. Called again and we’re told we would get our money back in 5-7 days. No apology, no offer to actually deliver the food that we ordered and were confirmed like she said before. Horrible customer service.
Great customer service and delicious ice cream and waffles.
Wow just wow. I was wanting to try a new ice cream joint and this place hit the spot. The ice cream waffle was amazing. I will definitely be returning. Their ice cream is of very good quality and is great. I honestly would have to say i enjoyed it more than graeters ice cream. I would recommend to anyone, i am positive all their items including the shakes are fantastic
I read about this place online and wanted to try it. It was really good, they have a wide variety of ice cream flavors and their waffles are really good. I didn’t have a chance to try their milkshakes or coffee but they looked good too. The employees were all super nice and the place was really clean. I will definitely come here again.
The Icream is absolutely amazing!! Still only outdoor seating for now but well worth trying.
Waffle is unlike anything Ive had. Its wonderful. Excellent ice cream and mousses too. I HIGHLY recommend the waffle sundae!! Very clean place and super friendly staff. Ill definitely be back.
The ice cream is overpriced and average but the atmosphere inside is cool
If you come here you have to get a waffle. They are so delicious because they are REAL Belgian waffles, not what we as Americans call Belgian waffles. Real Liège waffles are made out of brioche dough, not thin batter. This justifies the price since the dough takes much longer and requires more training to prepare than regular waffle/pancake batter. It’s definitely a treat to splurge on once in a while or for special occasions. As if the waffles weren’t good enough, the selection of ice creams - made from locally churned cream and sourced ingredients - is wonderful too. Somehow they also don’t taste as overwhelmingly sweet as some other ice creams.I can’t wait to try the homemade waffle cones next time!
Yesterday was my first time going here and I’ll def be back. The waffle is to DIE for! The best waffles I’ve ever tried! The waffle sundae is a must have!
Was fantastic. Weve been twice now and its amazing. Service and ice cream were great. Definitely recommend going.
Ice cream should not taste this good. Maybe the best in town.
Very unique and a good change of pace for lovers of dessert. The waffles are a great complement to the richness and flavor of the ice cream, and they are perfectly made. The topping options are great, and the whole experience makes you want to go back for more
This place is a destination! Unique concept and not your average ice cream store. You pay more but it is so worth it! Great ice cream flavors, mousse toppings and a to die for waffle. Excellent milkshakes too! Try it! Youll be back!
A unique and delicious place to go for dessert! The waffle sundaes are the crown jewel of their menu, and the reason behind the Belgian name, but their ice cream itself is fantastic. The staff are super friendly and helpful, and their hours are amazing - open til 11 pm seven days a week! Weve been twice so far and will be back for sure!
Love the texture of this ice cream! So delicious!
Absolutely delicious, and something you cant get just anywhere else.
Definitely the best dessert waffles in town. Ice cream was fantastic 👌 Experience is definitely worth the money. Will say, the waffle-icecream dessert is more than enough for one person, so dont go crazy. May even want to split it.Staff was friendly and helpful in explaining how the menu works.Id go again. ☺️
Liege and Dairy is the brainchild of Andrew Llewellyn. The homemade waffles are made to order and are to die for! As well as his homemade ice creams, with many flavors like you’ve never had! Andrew has created a concept original to Louisville, that will surely become a favorite go-to destination.
This visit was the worst yet. They were busy so I knew it would be a bit before they got to my order but after two people who ordered way after we did got there multiple waffle sundays and we were still waiting on a single scoop of ice cream and a slice of pie 40 minutes after ordering I was getting upset. They were totally unorganized and putting the online orders ahead of customers waiting in the store. This will be our last visit.
Taking ice cream to the next level. First time Ive ever had waffles, with ice cream. But the contrast between the cold creamy and the warm crunchy waffle, was superb! Service was quick, even though it was opening day...got through the line in about 5 mins...place is huge, with plenty of seating. Friendly service and everything is fresh, even the waffles, made as you order... waffle/ice cream..boom!
Its over the top, in a good way! The staff is enthusiastic and friendly. the waffle sundaes with multiple toppings are the sort of thing you cant eat all alone, but my fiancee and I spotted it and wanted to give it a try. It was fantastic! If youre on a date, and she likes ice cream. Take her here and youll score major points!
What to get: Build Your Own Waffle SundaeTime food arrived: 5 minsVibe: family-friendly dessert shopParking: shared large parking lot of a shopping plaza==The Food==Im very much behind in posting my reviews, so the menu has drastically changed since I last visited. What I love is how well-created each ice cream flavor is that it rivals my favorite ice cream shop in Louisville. Innovative and constantly changing, theres not just one flavor that I like more than another. Ive visited 3 times, but I know Ill still be wonderfully surprised the next time I visit and get something completely new again.Flavors Ive tried:-Just Brew It = espresso with a caramel swirl and coffee toffee pieces-Papa = vanilla with bourbon, caramel, and pralines-Mint To Be= mint ice cream with Thin Mint pieces**FYI** Dont follow their Instagram unless youre okay with having a constant craving for ice cream. Drooling may be a side effect.==For Next Time==Seriously, anything on the menu is fair game for next time. This place is one of my top most recommended dessert places in Louisville.
Hands down the best ice cream in the city! Papa was incredible and the Peanut Butter was even better. Pricey but worth it.
This place isn’t cheap but, after tasting it, I feel it is totally worth the price. I also felt the service was amazing. Very friendly staff. I highly recommend this spot.
