Everyone was super polite and helpful. The cake I ordered for my sister looks amazing! The flowers are beautiful. S/o to the bakery staff
Valu Market offers so much for a grocery store of its size! It has an impressive range of grocery staples, and probably the best selection of craft beer youll find in a grocery store environment. Their service during the pandemic has been wonderful, offering easy, organized, and timely curbside delivery at a time when it seemed like every other grocery store just couldnt manage it. Now that things are opening up again, Valu Market is still a great bet for good selection and friendly, helpful service.
Excellent grocery store. Products are top quality. Staff is super kind. Prices are the best in the neighborhood. If you live anywhere near this store and you are not shopping here, then you are doing yourself a disservice.
Everything you need. Best Cuban sandwiches. Quick in and out
Good local (yes I know its not really local) grocery. Locals in the neighborhood can walk, bike, or stop on their way home and find an excellent selection of fresh fruit and veggies, and a little less impressive selection of other food items, though I not sure what they dont have that you might need. Its clean and well lit with a deli counter, fresh breads and pastries (assuming cuz I didnt actually get any).Store staff are friendly and helpful. I enjoyed a less corporate experience.Parking is a non-issue because it is located in a small mall that has large lots front and back.Worth a visit if youre in the neighborhood or passing by and you have the time, even if you dont need anything in particular.
Stood at front counter for over 4 minutes waiting for someone to come from out of top office section. I could see the African American girl counting money, but she never looked over to see what I needed. The other cashiers were busy talking to each other and none asked if I needed assistance. I had to walk over and asked if anyone worked at the front counter, only to be told they closed at 8:00pm. Horrible cashiers and this store has went downhill, Its not what it used to be at all. The guy who works nights with all the tattoos were just loud and ghetto acting.
For such a small store, I really appreciated the variety of products and quality of them. I was really impressed. And the staff was very friendly and helpful.
The library here is fantastic. I always have a good time when I am here. I am so glad that it is open back up without appointment so single moms can continue their education. Thank you for supporting women!
Good customer service. The deli worker aimed to please us. Thank you Kroger for helpful and kind workers
Well, now I get to be back in the store with all those good people and great selections of foods. Its almost like nationality store with different baked goods. Come in for a bite for lunch or shop for your home. Either way is good. Im starting to be in there 2 or even 3 times a week. Friendly crew, Great manager and Assistant manager. Visit the deli, alot of food, variety beyond your imagination. Wow and the baked goods, the sweets, gotta have a little bit of that to finish the day with a smile. Actually wanting to go back for more. Its ran so nice between the great crew, clean environment, the wonderful help, and you find things in there you dont see in the big local grocery stores. Thats why I love to shop around. People always ask where did you find that. I love it! Just for getting around and helping out the community, not to mention helping out my best friend, who actually works there. Test them out. I did! If you dont see something, just ask and watch how well they treat you. Dont make demands of people, be nice like you like to be treated, and youll notice a big difference in anywhere you go. Thanks Value Market for everything!!!
Rarely shop @ Value Market due to being out of my price range. I know its a grand experience for many, but also being vegetarian, I dont see any variety in choices @ Value Market. I do see what little vegetarian options they have, one could buy a few bucks cheaper elsewhere. Unlike many in the neighborhood who shop here as a point of pride, I simply cant afford their inflated prices. On the positive, people have told me the walk-in beer cooler is full of variety and local brews. Also was told their meat sale creates a virtual mob in the store.
Lets just get it out there... Worst grocery store I have ever encountered. Rude, slow employees are just the tip of the iceberg. Food is overpriced. DO NOT even entertain the seafood counter. Unless you enjoy worms in your salmon. Oh and they seem to think its a good idea to cram displays in the middle of already small isles. Just wait the fun is not over. The check out is a disaster. Disgusting register areas that need to be condemned, and what could be the worlds first self checkout island. These four self checkout are very old, often malfunction, and you will almost guaranteed to need assistance with the faulty equipment. Do yourself a favor and just dont.
Love shopping here, theres a grocery store, dollar store, library and many other places here to visit. But I love the thrift store down stairs. There are many restaurants also in the mail and outside around the mall 👍
The deli/food gets 5 stars! The employees that work back there are friendly! The mashed potatoes are also the best. The location is convenient, however that’s where the good stuff ends. Prices are high and the customer service from everyone not behind the deli counter is poor at best.
The money order machine at this store is always broken!!! They also have high prices. Even when you try to pay an electric or cable bill, their machines are always down. Horrible store!
Unfortunately we had a horrible experience here. We had high hopes going in, but it was not to be. I chose a watermelon that was on sale for $4.99. At the register (all the self-scans are out of order) the cashier had a horrible attitude. When I politely pointed out that my melon rang up for $5.99, he said “I don’t know what the prices are. I’m just the guy who rings them up” and continued scanning items. I kindly asked if he would like me to take a picture of the sale sign, but he shook his head. I insisted on a price a check, and he looked over at the bagger and said with an eye roll “Go see what the price of watermelons is”.When the bagger told him, just as I said, $4.99, he mumbled “it’s only a dollar (difference)”.While he brought me to that topic....there are very few items in this store that are “value”. Sadly, most items are marked up and can be purchased at a Kroger/Meijer/etc for a much lower price.Needless to say, we will not be returning.
Clean store, great selection of items, and the customer service was amazing and very helpful.
I drove through the lot. I didnt visit. Everything seems the same. The space needs attention. Too much poverty.
Check your dates on the food but great variety and great products. ✨💕
I have been shopping here for many years. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Today I received special help from Dalton in the meat department to secure and save a special cut of meat for a family party. Shopping local is THE BEST!
Don’t neglect the one way alleys on either side of the venue!
Nice store this location has a bigger vegetarian selection than the other location...
Went here for their fabulous whippy cakes. The cherry on top was the cake decorator. She free handed our cakes to perfection
Great vegetarian/vegan selection. Loved to see plenty of local options like coffee from local shops. Some name brand items are slightly more expensive here but its worth it
My favorite local staff with a great variety and the best deli!
I enjoy shopping there, because the fresh fruits and veggies always look good, the deli has good food/meals, the employees are friendly, and its the right size for me.
Everthing was well stocked. They have some hard to find items too. Staff was very helpful and courteous. Lots of pickup and heat items when you dont want to cook. 😊
A great store to shop.Great fresh meat and fresh fruit and vegetables. Nice employees. Clean store.
Súper friendly staff. I called looking for specific meat for Thanksgiving dinner (we’re prepping early this year) and the butcher was happy to help me locate it and had it ready for me when I arrived. Please keep up the fantastic customer service!!
Terrible help and terrible management. I walked in the store this morning to pick up some coffee creamer. Two lanes were open plus a self checkout station when I walked in the door. I picked up what I needed from the shelf and by the time I walked out to the front there were no lanes open. I walk over to the customer support desk to check out and the lady suggested that I use the self check out. I asked why the other lanes were closed and why no one was working this morning. She said I was complaining to the wrong person and she pointed to the manager. I said the same thing to the manager and she replied with silence. The first employee reiterated that I was complaining to the wrong person and she didn’t know what was going on, and she just got there.I stopped checking out and told her she had a bad attitude and I would not be back. The manager said nothing. Absolutely pitiful terrible leadership. I wouldn’t put you guys in charge of a yard sale much less a grocery store.
Ive Always had a great day, when shopping Value Mart, since April 2014
Best grocery in town. Wonderful staff and great covid-safety practices.
You pay a little more on some things and less on others. I prefer their produce. Valu market feels like home
Great deli, butcher and beautiful produce! More expensive than competition groceries, though. 15-25% more, often. Good in a pinch, however.
Have only shopped here a few times, but it has always been an enjoyable experience. The store is not too large, but still contains an adequate selection of groceries, meats and fresh produce. Ive never gotten anything from their Deli, but it looks bright and inviting. Not really a super Value store, but prices on most items are equivalent to prices found at other chain stores like Kroger. There is ample parking in the Mid City Mall lot, with entrances on both the Bardstown Road and Baxter Avenue sides.
A bit pricier on most things, but convenient in the city. Everyone is friendly and the produce is staged well. It was a good shopping experience!
Nice store layout. It was easy to find everything I wanted. Staff was very helpful and friendly!
I love this store... very clean !
Great produce section and overall fabulous selection for a small store. I do wish theyd quit shrinking the international section.
I will never shop at that store again. Ppl r rude there and its the worst store Ive been since Ive been in Kentucky Ill always go to kroger
They have good cake
Good location. Not terribly busy even on the weekend. Staff is courteous and helpful. Everything is organized and well stocked. Lots of vegan options and local food. My only complaint is that the self checkout area is crowded and the scanners need updating.
Great place to shop, small and. Convenient.
This is a great little store. A very very nice selection of meats. Beautiful vegetables. CANDY!!! Yum!!! I love this store.
Good variety of products that stays fairly regularly stock
Nice neighborhood grocery store with a great selection of local producer and other local foods.
Whether you have to make a quick stop or do your grocery shopping, youll find everything you need at Valu Market, where you always like family.
Excellent grocery store. Valu Market sells very small cheese samples so you can explore flavors to discover what you like at a low cost. The Valu Market walk-in 🍺 beer area always has great beer from our region and abroad. The selection of German beers is especially impressive.Staff is friendly and helpful. Theyre always happy to answer any questions you may have and assist. Just ask.
Full shelves, excellent deli choices, local Blue Dog bakery bread, broad selections, friendly helpful staff.
Me and my wife have been going there for 15 years now, very nice store and staff, never a bad moment...
Keep Louisville weird and this small mall with a grocery store, public library, dollar store, movie theater, dance studio, and a great new restaurant, fits the bill. The best dentist in Louisville, Dr Vargo, works there as well. Theres a comedy club, all you can eat buffet, you can get your nails done, go thrifting at Nearly New, have a cocktail at the Backdoor, and weight lift downstairs. What more do you need smack can in the middle of the Highlands!
Very well kept and clean mall
Good location, small strip mall with an excellent supermarket. It has a few restaurants and quite a few small shops inside plus other businesses outside.Depending on time and day parking gets busy, but only on weekends.
Great people
I was very surprised by this store. It made my little Vegan heart smile! They had some great options for Vegans. Small but STILL options! Organic and Non-GMO. I was relieved. Its hard to find decent food when you live downtown, ESPECIALLY when you are vegan and theyre just arent enough stores like this.
The bakery just made the best cake I’ve ever seen. It was so beautiful. I’ve always thought Valu Market cakes tasted the best and this one was no exception. I asked for an “ocean/beach” theme and this cake went beyond all of my expectations. You have really outdone yourselves. I will be back for all of my cake needs and tell all of my friends to do the same.
Cool place to shop nice stores well comeback
Best selection of produce I have seen, in a long time. Downtown Produce in Florida is about the last time. This store is awesome, great prices. However, got to watch out for some items that are overpriced. Much cheaper at Kroger, like milk. That is with most stores though, but I enjoyed my experience.
They always have delicious produce thats very fresh. Their Deli is fantastic. They have a great craft beer and wine section and selection. A wonderful Seafood counter. They also have a great vegan and international section. My only problem with the place is its a little overpriced.
Because I have done my grocery at this location for over 30 years, I consider the store and the folks who work there as part of my life. They have great produce and really try to have fresh local produce. I prefer to get my meat here - they have Amish chickens and other select locally grown meat. Its a small store with a little bit of a lot. I like talking with them when I visit. Very friendly.
I have tried to give Valumarket many chances. It’s too bad because they are extremely convenient for me. But guess what? The customer service is nonexistent. The meat case smells suspicious. The cashiers act like they don’t understand what their job description actually is. I get nothing but lethargy. What is happening here? The managers are useless. Good bye Valu Market! I’m going ANYWHERE else.
Good deli. Fantastic cubano. Friendly staff.
Valu Market is a much-needed grocery in the Highlands area. It serves many customers within walking distance, serving as the perfect lifesaver for locals in need of a forgotten last-minute ingredient, or just needing an emergency beer run. The selection is decent, with more emphasis on the fresh foods, deli, bakery, and beer than on the dry and canned goods. However, since this isnt a big chain with its own brand, expect to be confronted with name-brand selection and the corresponding name-brand prices (vs finding generics). Get a loyalty rewards card to take advantage of sale prices, and dont forget to bring your own bags!
Well organized.Friendly
Fine if you just need to pick up a few things. Expensive, compared to Kroger. I wouldnt do my regular grocery shopping here for that reason. As far as supply, though, it is as good as any. I thought the quality of the produce was exceptional. I did not get anything, but I thought the food in the Deli dept looked good, too.
I absolutely hate going to the grocery but I love Valu market. It is not a giant super center. Nice clean and convenient. I really love not walking a mile for a gallon of milk. The deli is always staffed with friendly people and Cuban sandwich is amazing!
When you go in, it feels like going into Cheers. Everybody knows your name. The quintessential local grocery store. Good fresh produce, deli food only average, but good for what it is. Great cheese selection. Love the butchers. And they deliver, which in the winter is a Huge plus. Shop local, shop here.
This place is good in a pinch but I wouldnt do all my shopping here, ever.
Great variety. Higher prices than some others. Three workers helped me find an important ingredient.!! Late on Thanksgiving eve. Wish prices were comparable to other chain stores. However, meat products are the best quality...
This store is great for people with disabilities! In the store, you can go to the service counter that is directly inside the outside doors to get assistance. Plus, they have a delivery option for about $17 that includes a $12 delivery charge and a $5 shoppers charge. I might not be exact on the price, but I have to say it is really convenient to have the delivery option. Also, very service dog friendly! Not only the staff, but the shoppers too.
So consistently impressed with their service! That is literally something I have never said about a grocery store...ever. They are not only are easy to find, but the staff are friendly and helpful. They have gone above and beyond to help me find items. There is also a huge organic/alternative section, so more adventurous or diet-restricted eaters will be so pleased.
Great produce and meat, large selection of beers.
Great place to shop!
It nice. Lots of options for the size. You shop for groceries, check put books at the library, hit the gym, have dental work done, catch a movie, grab a sub, go to a buffet and enjoy some persian cuisine.
Horrible staff very rude normally had good experiences at this location never again the deli staff is disrespectful I would not recommend this store
This mall is pretty much the most run-down Mall Ive ever been to and the staff and every store acts what youre going to steal just because you have a backpack on or not name brand clothes
Valu Market always has luscious fresh produce and a variety of store cut meats.
Generally good if you can get past the fact the cashiers have no existing brain cells and they make me want to no longer socialize with any human being ever and also make me consider moving off grid in an attempt to further distance myself from society.but other than that, A+++ produce!!!
As somebody that uses a longer profile power wheelchair The mid City Mall valu market is a less-than-ideal situation to navigate. Many of the aisles have displays in the middle of the aisle meaning theres less room to maneuver and you are lucky if anyone ever sees you and volunteers any assistance or help for things that are on higher shelves, youre more likely to have a friendly customer asked if you need assistance than an employee. Also if youre in the mall itself you have to leave them all and go in their front door is as they no longer allow access through the sliding doors on the side of the grocery that exited into the mall proper. One thing I do recommend is whenever they have a big meat sale at the grocery they will have a grill outside to help promote the meat sale and sell barbecue, ribeye sandwiches, bratwurst, and burgers which are reasonably priced and very tasty so check it out the next time they have one of those meat sales advertised.
Dirty store. Way over priced, make sure not to forget your value card you will be publicly shamed, as they do not allow you to enter your phone number. Extremely Rude manager and staff. Used to be a convenient location to pick a few things up, after today I will never be back.
This value market is one of the smaller value market. It does have a lot more upscale items than the others do. Employees are sometimes questionable as far as their knowledge sometimes a little perturbed that you ask them a question. Other than that its a good store. Plenty of handicap parking places out front automatic doors for easy entrance and exit.
Valu market is clean, service is friendly, lines are rarely long and prices compare to Kroger. It has a great hot food, cheese and meat deli, as well as a beer selection with a walk in cooler to supplement the stacks at the aisle end caps. Always pleasant. Unfortunately, theyve had to close the doors leading directly into the mall.
Wasnt the best grocery store Ive ever been in. Got hit by panhandler not ten feet in the door
They have the nicest employees here.
Wonderful cuts of meat
Friendly environment, has lots of speciality items.
I like going to the local store when I can. I dont know how their prices compare with Kroger but their layout is easy to navigate. They also have taps to fill growlers which is a nice plus. I havent tried their grocery delivery or pickup but that is tempting...
The customer service was excellent!! I hope you are paying Shey well, because she was very friendly and helpful. Thank you!! 😁
The theatre itself is fine but some of the people who work there are rather rude.
Great placed grocery store that makes running to get something quick in the Highlands very convenient. Not as big as a Kroger, instead has a more home town feel to it. Awesome selection of organic products.
This place is very convenient to stopping by on my way home from work. Theyre a little pricey on some things but they have a variety here that you dont have to find another grocery stores I particularly like their deli section even though I never get there till after its closed and I only get the stuff that weve sitting out that usually some pretty good deals on this stuff. Sandwiches in pre-made foods that you can throw in the microwave later and have a meal.
Great place. Nice people. Although if you want to be quick at the check out lane. Bag your groceries. It gets you out quick and they appreciate it. Still nice place.
Clean friendly public bathrooms that are clean lots of fresh fruits and vegetables
This is the definition of a neighborhood grocery. Everyone goes there. Its the first place we look for anything and it has most things for decent quality and a fair price. The only way to make it better would be to expand into the parking lot!
Value market is truly a wonderful family orientated grocery store. Would strongly recommend you try value market. They have a very large selection as well as specialty items from local producers. If you have the opportunity stopped by the mid City Mall look for a product called McKaylas incense its the best incense that we have ever smelled.
Been shopping there off and on for years good place to shop at everyone so nice if you cant find what you are looking for they will gladly help you fine it great place
Friendly neighborhood staff that are very accepting!
