Pretty Descent Store Compared To Zia Records In Nevada!! I Absolutely Like Both Stores Will Return!!

Staff are very friendly and helpful. My 13year old whos been home schooled since the pandemic lit up like it was candy store. She lost interest in books she was a reader and does amazing in language. This store helped us (my 3 kids and I) get back into reading with about 12 affordable used books we found. Came out to $87. Will def be visiting again!

Joseys is my new favorite bookstore. I found a lovely selection of architecture books for my collection. Plus they sell lots cool stuff.

This is one of the finest book stores that Ive had the pleasure of visiting. They have a beautiful selection of books that most librarys would be envious of. A beautiful, beautiful store and the manager was so kind and helpful. She welcomed me in at a difficult time of covid, where signings and book gatherings are limited. She not only welcomed me there, but for this first time published writer accepted my book, autographed editions of The Reckoning of Rance, to their store, aside from those not at amazon. I so greatly appreciate them for having it there in such a beautiful setting. Everyone that enjoys reading should not pass through this city without stopping in and being astounded at their selection of books, records and gifts. It is one great book store and I cant wait until the next time I get the chance for another chance there..

Love Joseys!!!Unbelievable selection of ALL kinds of genres. You wont find cheaper vinyl anywhere in Lubbock. The staff - ALWAYS friendly. They also have classic games and cool new gadgets for the kids. You can spend hours in this store!

I am a Lubbock resident whos published ten books, one of them the award-winning Fueling Victory at Home. In early 2020, I reached out to a number of bookstores about possibly doing in-store sales and even a book signing. The staffs reaction was at first halfhearted, but they agreed to let me get paperback copies in their store.But, when the pandemic hit, the manager was very rude. After she acted in a very curt manner over the phone over a possible virtual book signing (which I even offered to do), I threw up my hands and thought, Enough. I cut ties with all brick-and-mortar book dealers and have instead focused on selling books exclusively through Amazon KDP.How are things going a year later?Fueling Victory at Home book won the 2020 Best Indie Book Award (BIBA)--Nonfiction--US History award--even with doubtful support of brick-and-mortar bookstores. Ive all but sworn off in-store book sales/book signings, and I will instead be using Amazon KDP for all book sales going forward.. Ill find other ways of publicizing my work.

I was very excited to see a used book store finally arrive in Lubbock since we were only left with Barnes and Nobles for anything book related. They have a great space, similar to a Half Price Books. It is nicely decorated and has ample space for chairs and tables. I found them to be a bit overpriced. I have familiarity with books and prices online and in book stores, etc... so I’m not sure why they’d charge $8.99 for a visibly used book with markings all over it. The staff was polite and helpful. I would suggest adding some light music in the background as it was a little too quiet.

This place has a great selection of everything. Ill give that five stars. Prices are questionable but only on some stuff. What gets me is the lack of customer service. I went in on 9/11/2020, I wasnt greeted or even acknowledged until I was waiting for sometime to be checked out. The only two employees I saw there were to busy talking. One sitting on the counter back facing away from everyone. Im sure I could of just left with the items without paying but thats not how I was brought up.Ive been to this location a few times and have been helped less than the times Ive been. This is usually my very last place to go to try to find whatever Im looking for.I have no problem with employees socializing but make sure your customers are taken care of first.

Sorry to say that my family will never shop here. Mask shamming is reprehensible and shouldnt happen, yet they had no problem telling people dont bother coming to shop there if you cannot wear a mask. Unfortunately, some have a medical reason why they cannot wear a mask and they should not be shamed for something not in their control.

You either get a really good deal or some things are too expensive. I understand some items are rare and thats why it is priced higher. But you have ten of the same book and its priced higher than the price printed on the book is ridiculous. Plus its used and not new. It doesnt make sense.

This is a great used bookstore. Friendly employees and selection make it worth a visit. Especially if youre looking for something that is no longer in print and may be hard to find.

Their selection of movies and books is fine but one of their employees took it upon themselves to follow and watch my wife, who is Hispanic, the entire time we were there. No one followed me or any of the other customers in the store. It completely ruined our experience and we wont be back.

Great place to find that book you must have in your collection and in your hands. Nothing like turning the page 😉I keep a running list I look for when I visit. Theyll show up one of these days 😀 Know your author and your treasure hunt is on. 🕊💗🙏

Bare bones Half Prices Bookstore. I lacks charm but has a decent inventory. I see a good future with the more books they aquire. Lubbock needs to support this place. They need a coffee shop!

Went here for the first time today and I loved it! They have unique items, I bought a Bob’s Burger Monopoly that I was over the moon about and a great selection of vinyls. It’s a peaceful and quiet experience, perfect for a bookstore.

Finally, got a chance to visit this store. Loved it!!! I could spend hours, in there. Great shoppe, great staff, and an awesome experience.

Came to Joseys to sell a huge collection of albums that my parents had collected and save through the decades. Ended up getting $35 for about 200 record albums. Oh well. the place was clean, well organized and the person helping us was friendly.

It has biggest selection of Rock and Roll music that is organized, easy to find.

Great prices, im sure book selection is great, im personally a record and cd shopper myself. Of course its a small selection but this is truly a bookstore, and actually its kinda nice to only need an hour or so to look through everything.

Walked in and wasnt sure they were open, no one greeted us, no one offered to help but lots of employees.An obnoxious employee speaking so incredibly loud that his voice carried throughout the entire store. It made it difficult to and enjoy the store and look around.The employees gathered at the registers as we walked up to pay. Our presence didnt disturb them until one of the two working stated she coul check us out. No worries though, the guy continued his story at the same decibel!Super disappointed in service. Were unsure if were willing to go back.

This place is brand new and already epic! Awesome selection of books... But even better a great bunch of vinyl records. This is my go to place in Lubbock.

Went to go sell some books. I brought a huge bag and they took 15 books! Thinking Id get at least $20 for all 15, they offered me $5. Some of those books were in almost brand new condition, barely any wear on them. Now reasonably, some books didnt have the covers and were worn, but $5?? I hate to be ungrateful, but some of those books are going to cost more than $5. I have never tried to sell any books before so maybe this is a normal exchange rate, but it just seems kind of unreasonable.
