The folks at Maplewood Auto treat you like an old friend. Ive mostly gone there for oil changes and other routine maintenance, but they always tell me of their specials and give me their best price. Theyll also give you a coupon for a cup of coffee or a pop at the attached convenience store while you wait.

Needed to service my car quickly, and Maplewood Auto was able to get me in early next day! They were professional, courteous, & honest about the work, prices, & my options. They fixed what I needed properly and to my expectations, and their pricing was more than fair! Would most certainly recommend this service center for your car needs!

I’ve always gone to Toyota for my services and every time I go and change my oil there something wrong with the car and there is a waiting time. When I called they offered to get the oil change right away. Or gave a waiting for the car appointment the same day in a later time. There are so kind and professional. Today I have my engine light on and they checked them for Free for me being a busy and everything. Best services! And very honest people.

After getting the run around and really expensive quotes and days long waits from 2 other places, these guys got in in right away and for a very good price. They have that Minnesota Nice thing going for them and quite professional. Will be coming back here for all my car needs.

Had an emergency flat and was due to replace all tires. Jerry got back to me first thing Monday morning and fit me in as soon as possible.I took his recommendations for tires and appreciated his advice. I also asked them to let me know about brakes and they were honest in telling me they didnt need to be replaced. Did not feel at all that he was trying to sell me more than was needed and fair!Found our new forever mechanic for our family!

I went in for an full synthetic oil change. They said it would be 45 minutes. I returned after 45 minutes and was told “we were gonna call. You need a new plug. Can we add one? It’ll just be a few minutes and we’ll get you on your way”. Another 45 minutes later I was still waiting.The issue: really bad communication. They should’ve called right off the bat about that plug instead of waiting till I returned.They didn’t tell me they had to order the part. They insinuated they had it and just had to swap things out.Then when the plug delivery was delayed they didn’t look into the delay until I pressed them about what was taking so long.When I first check in I had told them I was under a time constraint. Instead of being up front about things they wasted my time. I had to leave before even getting the new plug.The frustration? They didn’t give one rip about what happened. I understand delays can’t be helped sometimes. But the managers over there truly just didn’t care and made no effort to rectify my frustration. Maybe it was a bad day over there but I’d never go back.

I brought in a tire with an air leak, it was very difficult to find and they even made a special tool/dunk tank and geo it all repaired. I enjoy coming in and speaking to Mike, Greg, Jerry. They make the experience great and easy.

Ive been going to these guys for years. I do most of my own work on my vehicles but when something is too difficult or I dont have the time or equipment to do it myself, this is the only place I trust with my vehicles!I have and will continue referring friends, family, and everyone else to this place for service! Best customer service I have ever had. Thank you Jerry for helping me get my car fixed. Was told by another shop that I needed a steering rack for $1398 and felt I needed a second opinion. So glad I went to Maplewood Auto Service. Jerry and his mechanic had my car diagnosed in 30 minutes. It did not need a steering gear, it needed a steering coupler. My car was ready in 2 hours and only cost me $300.Jerry was very knowledgeable and helped me understand what was really wrong with my car.

Best shop in the Twin Cities!!! The new manager Jerry was very helpful and very passionate about his job. I was told by another shop that I needed front and rear brakes. So I decided to get a second opinion and Jerry and his crew inspected my car and notified me that I only needed front brakes and that my rear brakes still had 50% remaining. Jerry made sure that I was dropped off at work on time and they even pick me up after work. Thank you so much for helping me and saving me money.

If i could rate this place negative stars I would.The service counter people were rude. And the one guy talked to me as if I was incompetent. I only brought my car here because they could get me in quick. I was not informed that asking them to take a look at my car would cost $60 when i called to see if they could sneak me in.Then now that I left this 1 star review they have used my phone number, and called me to say we dont know why you would rate us 1 star, all we did was look at the car and say whats wrong. We are family owned and a 1 star review hurts us.Have better customer service, and friendlier staff working. And dont use client records to call and harass a person for truthfully rating the experience they had with your business

However, there are those select few that goes beyond what is expected and treat people with so much dignity that it’s difficult to believe that they could maintain this level of customer service.Well believe it. Maplewood Auto Service is the auto shop with the mechanics that you have been searching for. Like many who are reading these reviews, I’ve been seeking the right mechanic for quiet some time now. They were swift to respond to my needs by scheduling me for the following day. Jerry, the service manager, was friendly and truly treated me like I was family. When I mentioned that I needed to coordinate transportation in order to get to work, jerry quickly offered to drop me off.On the day that the truck was scheduled to be worked on, Mark and Greg provided transportation to and from the facility. The shop contacted me along the way and informed me of all of the things that they noticed and made me feel like I could completely trust them. Jerry broke down all of the different options and provided clear communications.Upon picking up my vehicle, I noticed that there were two other services on my invoice that we did not discuss. When I asked Jerry about it, he informed me that they noticed I was behind on my oil change, and they went ahead and made sure I was up to date (also replacing my oil filter) FREE OF CHARGE.I’ve had my truck for two years now and it has never ran as smoothly as it does now. I am glad that I found an auto shop that I can fully trust and want to share this with those who are looking to find a long term shop that they can trust.

I took my car in today to have the A/C checked and recharged. They squeezed me in without an appointment on a busy day. It sounds silly, but as a woman it was a bit of a relief to deal with a woman over the phone and at the front desk. Even so, EVERYONE was helpful, polite and professional. Jen at the desk is SO KNOWLEDGEABLE. She came to the waiting room and sat down and explained to me their findings, possible outcomes/repairs/needs and prices. I am a nurse and she did exactly as I do with my patients in the hospital. They are also in a great location because I drive past the shop every day. I now have a new mechanic but Im kicking myself that I didnt start using them earlier! Thank you again!

One of the best places to get your car fixed. They don’t over charge you. As a women I have had auto shops try to over charge me. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Was in a panic yesterday morning when I had to get a jump and my car would not start.... I brought it over to Chris and he had My BMW in for service 10 mins later. I was not sold extra things they check my battery could not find anything wrong with it I choose to replace battery and it was finished within the hour. Thanks for all your hard work Guys. Well, I posted my review on Yelp and after just a few days, my review disappeared. I wonder how that happened. So, I figured I’d post here, maybe it will last little bit longer.My daughter is a full time college student and was home for the weekend. She needed an oil change and rotation and I had a coupon for both at Maplewood Auto Service. I do most of my family car servicing but didnt have enough time to do it myself. I am also a bit skeptical when it comes to mechanics. My daughter called and scheduled an appointment, however before she left i marked her front left tire. She brought her jeep in and dropped it off. At this point the only contact they had was with my daughter. When her jeep was ready i took her to go pick it up. I went in and paid and confirmed with the adviser that the work was performed. My daughter and I went out to get her jeep. Sure enough, the front left tire had my sharpie mark on it. I went in and once again asked if the rotation was performed. The service adviser assured me it was and even went back and asked the mechanic to confirm, he did. At that point I told them they were lying and that I knew for a fact that the tires were not rotated. Here is where my problem is. I know that regular tire rotation is paramount to the extend the life of your tires. This place sells tires !! Was my daughter the only one this has happened to? Was it a totally isolated incident? Maybe a few cars everyday get by there total lack of detail and honesty!! Word of warning, if you bring your vehicle here for service, be careful !! Especially if you are a person that they may feel would have no idea if the services you paid for, were actually performed. I really regret not marking the oil filter ! I wish no stars was an option, in my opinion this is criminal, I paid for services that were not performed. Also at no time did they offer me a refund !! I will never return to this location and for the life the life your tires, I would highly recommend you do the same !!I see all these 5 star reviews. I wonder if they are reporting on the job that was performed, or perhaps on the job they paid for and thought was performed.

Great place to get your vehicle repaired. took my cars there for 15 years before I moved. they are honest and fair.

Price was what I was quoted, they were honest and replaced a cheap part to fix my issues. Only complaint is the $90 diagnostic fee on top of the part replacement. I feel like as much as the part and labor cost they could drop the $90 if you have them fix it.

Since 1996, Ive taken all my vehicles to Maplewood Auto for everything from oil changes and seasonal tune-ups to major repairs including transmissions, brakes, struts, timing chains, etc. They have always treated me fairly, never done unneeded repairs, saved me money many times and always met their estimates on costs and time in the shop. I trust them and recommend them, highly.

I took my car in to get a simple flat done and it cost me $32. The next morning my tire was flat it was 4 above and when I brought it in there was no apology. I came back to pick it up 7 hours later after getting the repair done and they wanted another $20 to say that I ran over a nail in less than 12 hours later. With huge reluctance he let me take my car home I will never go back there no will I ever suggest them as a possible place for getting your car fixed.

They have been taking care of my Volkswagen for nearly 2 years now. They have been very honest with me about any problems they have found, letting me know what needs to be done right now, and what can wait until later. I would recommend them to anyone.

Had transmission issues, Jennifer quoted me $40 for initial diagnostic work, with a quote for $90 to really get into the issue(s). After they test drove it Jennifer called me up to tell me it was now $186 to diagnose the transmission--I read back to her what she has quoted earlier and she said that price no longer applied--even when I explained that was the reason why I chose them. I asked what the $40 got me as far as diagnostics, and the mechanic was on vacation, so she didnt know. I ultimately got the transmission replaced at AAMCO near White Bear Lake and they didnt jerk me around with smoke and mirrors, plus a lifetime nationwide warranty.

I am selling a vehicle and a buyer wanted to have these guys look at it first. When I brought it in, brakes worked just fine. When they got done with it all of a sudden theres a leak in the brake line. Now my brake fluid is sitting on my driveway. I would not trust this place even though I have never had any work done here. It just looks very suspicious.

Took my car in with a few problems, they got back to me right away. Quoted me a price, and I told them to go ahead. They said it would be ready on Wednesday, and it was. When he called me to pick it up, he said it would be less than originally quoted. I have never had an auto repair be less than what was quoted! When talking to them I mentioned that I had a door issue, and they looked at it for no extra cost. Very fast and friendly service, I will be taking my car back. Overall great experience, and I feel that Maplewood auto is a place I can trust.

Ive been to this location twice and that is my own mistake. I was disappointed after they repaired an issue for me and I had to go to another service center in less than a week for an emergency fix to the same problem. This final time, they tried to tell me that my ignition and HVAC system were connected and they had to fix issues with both. In my opinion, these mechanics are just trying to milk every dime they can without knowing a damn thing about what theyre actually doing. I work at 3M, nearby, and I will still never go back. Ive told everyone I work with to not go here and I want to warn the general public as well. Be safe. Avoid these morons.
