They have plenty of books, comics, manga (in English and foreign languages), video games, records, cds, sketchbooks, journals, and movies. Most of their merchandise is in new-like new quality for being a used books store. The prices are above average as well. There is not many places to sit, but it is nice and quiet to read through anything you like. There have been authors who have come in to read and sign books. If you have any used books, video games, music cds/records, or movies they will buy them from you for a low price. Overall this I a very good store.

The check out lady was a little on the rude side. She snapped about a question that was asked. Having never been in the store before, you’re going to ask questions. She should understand this. Perhaps she should work in another area of the store and have someone check out who enjoys their job.

Ive sold and purchased a great many books here. They are always kind and quick to find whatever I was looking for. The stores clean and well maintained. Sometimes I find some real gems in the stacks here, so its always worth a browse.

My son and I LOVE this book store. It is clean, organized and has alot of books. Has 2 bathrooms and is pretty big selection of books. Prices are great!

Normally when I go to used book stores Im able to find maybe one book that Im searching for, but yesterday I was able to find every book on my list plus some. We came home with eight new treasures, and spent only $16!

Large and very complete bookstore selling mostly used books. Very good stock - very good variety. If you want to sell books this place will buy them but they dont offer much for your books. However, the price of their books tends to be good. Also, they sell knickknacks, agendas, journal books, cards, and so on at very good prices.

I was looking for a popular book, so they didnt have it in-store but were able to have it shipped in from another location. It arrived within two weeks. They have a large selection of media; books, comics, dvds, etc. And the staff are nice.

Such a wonderful store! A must stop for any book lover. Its also a great place to find last minute yet meaningful gifts. On top of books, they also have vinyl, video game, and movie sections. The store is littered with small, nerdy toys and cute things. The book deals are superb! Its an all-around perfect store!

Ive visited this cute location a few times. In the past, a friend and I bought Ron Douglas cookbooks. We tried a few recipes but the results were mediocre plus theres no photos in all of his books. Method To Millions book appears to be a total flop and needs to be kicked to the curb-lackluster business points!

Employees went above and beyond to help me. For example, I asked whether they had a nice chess set and although they didnt, they immediately hopped onto checking whether any other stores had one even though I didnt ask for it. They were super personable and were able to provide great book and board game recommendations for my individual needs. It was also quite evident that they were well versed in the contents of the store and were genuine, passionate people! 👍

Half Priced Books took it upon themselves to establish a new law in their establishment. They refused business to me because I am asthmatic and cannot wear a mask, yet they let others walk around their store with no mask on. This is the definition of Hypocrisy and Discrimination. I will take all of my business elsewhere. I am also never recommending their store again to my friends.

Great place to buy and sell books.

They never have the books I’m looking for and tell me they can order it for full price (It’s called half price books aren’t you going give me something???). They also give me nothing for my books. I get maybe $2 for a new book that I read once versus my old used book store gave me $5-9 per book. Totally cheap and never have good stock. I personally rarely have a good experience and probably won’t shop here again.

It is a decent place with a lot of stuff to browse. However take the Half Price part with a grain of salt. Especially when it comes to movies and music. Most of the used movies are cheaper or the same price new.

Great place to find books, video games, and movies. Found some rarities here that would cost a fortune via Ebay or Amazon. Most items are also in better condition than you will find at Goodwill. Not many negatives except that Dracula poster gets me every time I go into the restroom.

This rating is based on selling books to Half-Price Books. A number of young, inexperienced buyers at Half-Price Books/Marietta, GA store need retraining (in some cases, an adjustment in their degrading, haughty behavior), since they claim Half-Price is not interested in buying old books (1800s and early 1900s) that are “old looking, dusty, and age toned,” have some humidity stains on the top edges, or have minor cracks to hinges or joints. This has been my experience and the experience of others I recommended to Half-Price Books who tried to sell the store buyers older books. I just can’t imagine first editions and early editions of Charles Dickens, Charlotte Bronte, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and D.H. Lawrence they sniff at because the books don’t look like they were just published – fresh and in pristine condition. Ironically, some of the books they sell or have sold in their old book department (in the corner of the store) have these so-called problems. I purchased a biography about Abe Lincoln from this store that was heavily foxed, had a short tear to the front hinge, and included scattered old humidity stains throughout the text block and endpapers. It was a scarce edition, signed by the author.

One employee was rude about me flipping over my mask and saying I drove my daughter here from Florida so she could shop here.

If youre looking for a new book, then Half Price Books should be your first stop. This bookstore chain is always well organized and enjoyable to browse. Gently used books are offered at very affordable prices. They offer a new selection of bestsellers as well.

Great place however its a little sad to see a book that cost $40 be sold for $80... Then attached they left the value village thrift store sticker which shows that they paid $1.41. I wish I didnt see that. Thats a huge rip off to me and I dont see the store the same.

I purchased three paperbacks at a reasonable price. As I was checking out, they told me what types of books were valuable to them if I had some to sell. I returned shortly with 30-40 books that met their criteria. They offered $15 for the whole bundle. No thanks!

I took several items to them today to put up for sale. I took 2 brand new Dr Oz books . Also I took about 10 Majesty and Royalty collector magazines that were in new condition and beautiful. I had been told previously by this same east Cobb store that the magazines were worth at least $1.00 a piece since they were such beautiful editions. Today I was told that the magazines and the 2 Dr Oz books were worth $2.00 total. This was not what I had been told before. They need to get the facts straight so that everyone is on the same page. I will not be back anytime soon!! I feel that they took advantage of me..

Recently discovered this place in East Cobb & love it! I have visited multiple times and been thrilled at their selections and pricing! Great place to buy holiday gifts.

They require a mask. To all who follow the science I suggest you not shop here. Mask requirements are a political statement, science has proven they dont work.

While many book stores have gone the way of the albatross, those that remain are stronger through their perseverance, just like Half Price Books. If you are looking for good deals on new and used books, this place has plenty to offer. Have you binge-purchased books in the past and are now trying to make amends? This place will pay you top dollar to unload that pulp monkey of your back and but your used books.

Good place for books. Wish they had an online inventory. When looking for a book, Hou have to know if its literature, young adult, suspense, etc. Makes it difficult to easily locate something without an online directory.The store is very clean and has a wide selection of books, music, and movies.

This review is for their comic book section only. They never discount their already over-priced comics that dont sell like all other half price books do and they never put out new stock even if its been sitting in the sorting area for months. They are never helpful and sometimes rude when asked if they are going to put out new stock. I used to drive twenty minutes out of my way to come here once a week because sometimes you can find good deals but out of the last dozen or so trips they havent even put anything out except for a few extremely over-priced issues. Go to the Atlanta location where the stock actually rotates every couple of months.

I cannot say that I really like this place. The money they give for used books is insulting so I now give them to Goodwill instead. Maybe you can find a deal. They never have books that the school requires so its much easier just to shop on Amazon. Much quicker and easier.

I love this book store. I used to visit one in Chicago all the time. When I moved down to Atlanta I was sad there wasnt one close by, but recently last year they opened one up in Marietta!! They carry great books for a reasonable price. I love Barnes and Noble, but their prices are very high for new books. The books at Half Price are gently used, so they appear brand new.

What a pleasant surprise! I went in thinking this would be a no-frills, books in a box kind of store and was pleased to see that they had SO much more. Records, gifts, comic books, DVDs, and get this, 8-track tapes. I enjoyed looking around and found what I was looking for with a bonus of coffee. The staff was friendly and helpful and the whole experience was enjoyable.
